Only an optometrist very skilled in juvenile eyes can give me an accurate eyeglass refraction. For 30 years I went to an optometrist who taught optometry at UCLA. He retired. So I evaluated all of the optometrists within 20 miles of Chino Hills/Diamond Bar. I settled on Dr. Hoshi, who, it turns out, was taught by the UCLA optometrist who did right by me for 30 years. Amazing. I went to see her, she got my refraction correct, and she didn't charge me much. So Dr. Hoshi gets my recommendation, and anyone who makes an 83 year old financial trial lawyer who was very skilled in getting $1,000 an hour for being nasty and made him happy must be doing something really impressive.

The 168 Market spot is perfect. I can grab Korean groceries, eat way too much at the food court, and handle my eyeglass emergencies all in one go. The new place is still low-key and unassuming, but don't let that fool you, the products are high-quality and the prices are surprisingly competitive. And here's the wild part: if he has your lenses in stock, he can get your glasses done in like 20-30 minutes. I'm not kidding. I've waited longer in line for boba. This kind of speed is something I'm used to in Asia, especially Korea, not here in the U.S. The shop is now located inside 168 Market in Hacienda Heights and it's actually a bigger space. It's clean, organized, uncluttered, basically the opposite of my desk at home. They even have a great selection of glasses for kids, which is something a lot of big chain stores seem to struggle with. Just my two cents. We were at 168 market and looking around and saw frames light weight and cute at this store. The owner/Andrew recommended blue light protection lenses and showed us how they work. Those frames are made with titanium and silicone and so light for kids to wear. I left prescription and it took 2 days and got our glasses. The owner/Andrew is very knowledgeable and explained well to us. The price is very reasonable. We are so happy with the service and we'll go back for more glasses in the future. They also have fashionable sunglasses at reasonable prices.

Got my new glasses and was quite happy for the first year. Full disclosure, the initial destruction of my glasses was my fault, letting my daughter get ahold of it. I took the frames and lens in and asked to purchase a replacement frame. Transaction was fine, new frames came in a week later and they reinstalled the lens. A couple days later began my current 2 and half month so far ordeal. While driving with the replacement glasses the frame snapped right around the lens. I took the frame in and asked the staff if there was a warranty on the frames, as they broke literally 2 days after I had recieved them. I was told yes, and they asked if they could send the lens into the lab to shave down the size a bit so it could fit into frames better. I said sure. It has been 2 and a half months since then and I still haven't gotten my glasses back. We've been calling the office pretty much once a week and have gotten responses that they had to follow up, they hadn't gotten a response from the lab, the lab wasn't releasing any of the orders for some unknown reason, that the optometrist needed to clear things up, that the lab has lost the package. The entire time the situation has been treated with a lack of urgency, with us needing to chase after them for updates. At this point I don't know if I'm ever going to recieve my glasses. And my old pair that's about 4 years old is falling apart
