I brought my 5 year old in for her second eye exam. Dr. Bladh set her up with two images to compare and asked which was better. When she hesitated a split second too long, he impatiently asked, "Am I speaking English? Does she speak English?" We had been speaking English the whole time. This was not a legitimate question about her first language; just a grown man with terrible bedside manner being unnecessarily rude to a little girl. My husband had already decided to find a new eye doctor after an unpleasant experience here, but my daughter's first appointment had gone fine, and given that she only needs to go once a year, we figured it would be ok. We will not be returning. This would be 1 star, but giving it 2 because the front office staff were kind and demonstrated the correct amount of patience for working with children when helping her pick out frames. read more

I normally go to see the eye doctor at Costco but wanted to get a second opinion, so happy that I call this office, made an appointment, went in....let me tell you, they Wally take care of you. All the girls in the office are very helpful and super nice. The doctor took his time and was very patient, unlike the other place, you are in-out within 5-10 minutes. This place is very thorough, they run several test prior to seeing the doctor, another nice thing is, they carry a large selection of glasses, from economical to designer. I found a nice pair of Rayban that I am extremely happy with. I have been recommending them to my family! read more

Today was my first appointment and everyone was SO NICE. I arrived 30 mins early to my appointment since I finished my dogs vet appt early. But it made more sense for me to come here Instead of driving home and running into the chance that I'll be late. They were nice to welcome me in I got to complete the patient forms and do the pre-screening. I had questions about what each equipment does and they were so nice to explain what it did. I don't know about you but I remembered as a kid I was always so curious like why am I looking at a hot air balloon or press button when I see the black squiggly line. So now that I'm in my early thirties my curiosity has been answered hahah Okay moving onto the meeting Dr. Bladh. He has a good sense of humor and doesn't make you feel bad if your eyesight isn't the best. I kept asking am I going blind? Because the previous place I went to (ahem) Costco -.- made me feel I was losing might sight. But he said a lot of people would trade spots with you. So I was like whew I'm still good. He didn't treat me any different since I have medi-cal vision. Still gave excellent care. There were a few times where I had to ask him to go between 1st and 2nd option just so I know I was making sure I'm selecting the right one for me. As I mentioned previously my experience at Costco has traumatized me. Because that doctor would be like hurry up I have other patients to see just pick one it's all the same. So you can imagine when I saw we were moving onto that part of the exam I got so nervous. But Dr. Bladh was so nice! He let me take my time to focus and make sure I'm telling him which options was more clear for my vision. We chatted a little bit afterwards so I felt like he cared and wasn't rushing off to see the next patient. I forgot the name of the lady who helped me, SORRYYYY!!! But you were soooooooooooo NICE!!!! Like I felt she really cared about the patients. She gave you a warm vibe and provided me information regarding my coverage. Such as with medi-cal they have a wall of frames you can pick out thats is free at no additional cost. Options weren't bad as you can see I picked the one that gave me Harry Potter vibes. So medi-cal doesn't cover the anti-glare which was $99. She didn't pressure me at all or try to do a sales pitch to get me to add it. But I know as I'm getting older I need to take care of my health and that Includes my eyesight. So I had no problem paying $99 and I get my glasses faster so yay! Anyways this place is awesome easy to schedule an appointment. They accept medi-cal and they send out appt reminders via text which is helpful especially if you're someone who doesn't answer the phone read more

The cleanest and sleekest optometrist office I have ever been to. I have never walked into an office and felt more impressed with how nice and clean it looked. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to work there and handled our entire visit with smiles and ease. We were recommended Dr Bladh's office from a family member and I am so happy they did. The process was so easy from start to finish. Dr Bladh and all of his staff treated my 9 year old daughter so well and make her feel completely comfortable. They were so patient and kind while doing her pre evaluation explaining everything so she could understand. They helped her find the perfect pair of glasses that made her smile from ear to ear. Dr. Taylor Bladh listened and took my concerns about my vision seriously. I think that's a rare quality in doctors nowadays. He helped me discover that I had a retinal tear and detachment. He then referred me to a retinal specialist right away. My previous optometrist's advice to me was to wait, and wait, and wait (for approximately 4 months). If I had gone to Dr. Bladh earlier perhaps I would have been able to avoid surgery, as retinal detachments are time sensitive. It's unfortunate that when you are younger, people often overlook or write off what can be serious medical issues. Please take care of your vision, guys! Around a week ago I recieved a letter saying that I owed my copay in which I payed and I have proof on my bank statement. My family has been going here since their days in the albertsons plaza on the other side of Diamond Bar. Back when Bladh wasn't flying solo and he had Boyer on his side. The service has always been good and they take your eye health seriously, but this past week i had an experience that i did not bargain for (literally). After weeks of phone tag and rescheduling appointments due to conflicts on my end, i finally had time to come in for an appointment. As i had stated over the phone multiple times, i was there for my routine eye exam. Every year i go in for this, hence the word routine. I walked in to the office, checked my information, and then was taken to examination room. AT NO TIME was it mentioned that i was participating in anything more than a routine eye exam. Turns out, unbeknowst to me, i had also been assigned a contact lens evaluation, a 50 dollar extra charge. I have no idea what this contact lens exam consists of and never asked for it at any time. I do not know when my contact lens exam started and when my eye exam began. Long story short, the result of the exam deemed that no changes needed to be made to my contact lens prescription, a result i contend should have been found with a normal eye exam! Anyways, i have learned my lesson and the importance in being explicit as to the services i want or do not want. Or else, they'll just tack it on for you, and you'll be short 50 bucks. Two stars for being my day 1 optometrists, three stars off for my most current experience. read more

dr bladh is ok - if you have insurance. im a little disappointed to learn that they would highjack my prescription and force me into an annual checkup - even tho some optometrists allow prescriptions to be valid for 2 years. and the thing is: they called me for an annual visit but told me my insurance only resets vision coverage every two years (& is not free the second time). i opted out of the visit late last year, but the prescription is just 1.5 years. then i ran out of the contacts for right eye. but i couldnt order any bec walgreens says my optometrist is requiring me for my annual visit. so it boils down to $$. The cost for a visit without insurance is $137, twice the price anywhere else. so yeah. i think ill check other doctors for now. (too bad, cause this is so close to me, and parking lot is never too crowded) read more

I scheduled an appointment on a Saturday with Dr. J. Vu at this office on a weekend. Dr. Vu gave me my first eye exam in over 5 years so I had a ton of questions regarding the health of my eyes. She answered me with due professional care, going above and beyond to give me a thorough understanding of my eyes. She was proficient and very friendly - I would see Dr. Vu again and highly recommend her. The office staff of Dr. Bladh's was equally wonderful. They helped point out the sections of frames they recommended and also gave me pointers on comfort and style. In the end, they helped me avoid a disaster and choose frames which my picky sister approved of (so u know its gotta be good!). I also had an issue with billing which they worked with me on - in the end, I had to call my insurance on the following Monday (since they were closed on a weekend), straighten out the matter and then call back Dr. Bladh's staff who take care of me instantly. I went in to look at getting contacts or getting Lasik Eye Surgery. Dr. Bladh asked a lot of questions to see what was really going on with my vision. He then inspected my eyes to see what would be the best option for me. After a short period, in which he gave me the pros and cons of each direction, I chose to go with Lasik. So once that decision was made, he worked with me to set the right expectations and get everything ready for the procedure. I had the procedure done and am continuing to visit him for my post-op surgery checkups. I am very happy with the service he provided me and am thankful that he set the right expectations for me. I suppose the only way to properly express my disappointed is to stop going here. This is my third pair of glasses in a row that have had my Rx outside of my line of site. Last year I got a pair of Rx sunglasses and had to bring them back in to get a functional prescription. Because of misinformation about my plan that I was given from the office staff during that appointment I had to go back later that year for a pair of "computer" glasses. Those too, had a line of vision that made looking through them seem almost as though they had the wrong Rx in them. I never had time to go back in for a 3rd trip and have learned to "deal" with them. I specifically brought this up during my recent appointment and still this new pair is off. I have to tilt my head at an upwards 45 degree angle to see the clearest. I should not have to keep going back for adjustments because whoever is making the lenses can't get it right. Beyond that, most of the office staff is incredibly rude. When I asked for clarification about my current plan (because of the completely wrong info I was given by these same women last year) you would have thought I was asking them to preform a dental operation for how much I was inconveniencing them, despite the fact that they outnumbered them number of patients in the office 2:1. I try to support local independent practices, but honestly if I have to go to Target or Costco in order to get a correct pair of glasses on the first try, I guess that's what I'll be doing next year. read more
