Kind of like how we tend to research every ailment BEFORE we see our doctors on WebMD, or buy that new trinket on Amazon. Yelp certainly B4 trying out a new eatery or service provider ~ de rigueur also. *Yelp smartphone interface doesn't allow italics for de rigueur, so please note and please fix at some point. **I'm nothing if not a stickler for proper formating/editing. Segueing into the optometric experience, it was very nicely formatted also ~ see what I did there? Wink wink. Kim was very pleasant when I initially called in for the appointment. I showed up a tad delayed from lunch nearby with my buddy ~ review to follow ~ and the eye exam went smoothly. My vision had been pretty stable for years but I had noticed something fuzzy in one eye at times and wanted to check that out, especially important since we are spending so much more time staring at screens ... plus, I'd already skipped many regular checkups in general. Dentist, yearly physical, e.t.c. 2020 pretty much canceled those There was a large selection of frames and I took the doctor's suggestion to update my look while I was there. Retro Geek? Or Geek Chic? I forget what she called it But nevertheless, even though I had a new pair of frames I already bought, I went with a new RayBan style. Luckily, we're also figured out convenient shipping direct to me, so whatever happens in the continuing lockdown progression won't effect me. In fact, I was so pleased with the process, I'm ordering prescription sunglasses as soon as I check out how my new glasses turn out in a few days. I'll probably have those shipped to me as well. Welcome to the new age of professional care I suppose. I see that you can get dental teeth corrections in the mail also. Along with custom fitted shirts and pants. Actually, back in June, I did a physical therapy session or three over zoom. And they mailed me the equipment to properly do the stretches and hand strengthening. It's probably not the best methodology to adopt for the long term, as the environment will certainly suffer needlessly compared to the former centralized model of goods and services provided at offices but during these times, convenience and separation seem more the priority. Regardless, kudos to Sylvia and Kim. They make a great team for your eye care needs! read more

Very mixed feeling of this place. Dr is very friendly and nice. I would want to go back except 1. They don't have many selections as I was told over the phone. 2. The after service Sucked. We went to pick up the glasses and the front desk girl was just plain horrible. She didn't greet us the first time and the second time. The Dr said she was new so still in training. She wasn't any help in picking out glasses or trying to see if the glasses fit right. If you try on your glasses and you put your head down, and the glasses slide down, doesn't it mean glasses need adjusting? The dctr came out in the middle of her lunch and helped but she told me that it can't be helped, since the glasses are just framed that way. The whole appointment took REALLY LONG since it was she was new but I wish they wouldve told me ahead of time that they are in training and it will longer than usual. So I can plan accordingly I won't be going back. read more

I have been coming here for a while for my annual eye exams for contacts and glasses. I love this place because it's quick and to the point! Dr. Yun might seem like she's flying through your appointment quickly, but never at the cost of accuracy or precision. I appreciate the speed because she just knows exactly what she's doing and saving you and other patients some waiting time! She is very candid and always willing to work with you to answer your questions or concerns if you have any. Front desk girls are also always very pleasant! Another plus is they have an on-site lab where they can finish your prescription glasses within a day! read more

This place has a lot of 5 star reviews, but my visit wasn't a 5 star one. This place has a decent selection of glasses, more than your average optometrist but its not that big imo. There's a sign that says Prices are as low as they can be, don't ask for discount or something along those lines. I thought gave off the we don't wanna waste our time negotiating with you vibe. The front desk, is real nice for sure... which is probably why people like to come here. I came for just a checkup, but the guy Thomas gave his best effort to contact my insurance and so that I was able to have the exam on the same day. The optometrist, Dr. Yun or something, was the thing I didn't like about the visit. She seemed very annoyed about answering my questions and kept rushing through out the exam. We had our eye's check, glasses and contact lens ordered here for the first time. Doctor was very nice and friendly. During the preappointment and during appointment, customer service is excellent. Very helpful and accommodating. We got our glasses and clear contact lens right away.I was so pleased. BUT unfortunately, My colored contact lens came late and I didn't made a big deal because I was not in a hurry, I was surprised they handed me a monthly colored contact lens which I specifically showed in my phone/photo my last daily colored contact lens prior ordering and the lady confirmed it's daily. I paid 110 for 45 daily supplied colored lenses and I was surprised they gave me only six pair lenses because the lady said it's two week contact lenses. I was not informed of this and the lady keeps telling me the NEXT TIME I SUGGEST GET daily.. first and foremost, I ordered and confirmed with a photo that I was ordering Daily not 2 week/Monthly lenses other wise I will not get it. The lady was not really helpful and keep telling me IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE OR QUESTIONS (trying to cut off our conversation and not willing to listen to my concerns) knowing I am telling her I am not really happy with it. At the end of the day they finally give me a call after I've been calling them many times about my disappointment and left me a voicemail that I can finally return it. But my husband doesn't want me to stress about it anymore. Then I found out their price of 110 for 6 pair but I can buy it outside for 70 bucks. The lady confirmed that to me but told me that's how they sell it it their store.. Everything is okay until they messed up with the colored contact. Staff NEEDS TO BE CLEAR what is the product before letting customers sign like us. They should have a better PLAN when things get wrong like mine which is NOT my fault getting a monthly contact lens instead the daily which I wanted from the FIRST PLACE. Again the doctor is very nice but the implementation of product and customer service needs to improve. Also, my colored contacts lens that they gave me is just sitting there because I cannot wear that long and contact lens is drying easily but I don't have any chouce but not to throw it or else I throw the 110 i paid for them. They make everything very simple: brief eye tests and then a meeting with the doctor shortly after. Sometimes the wait time is long if many people are there but you can make a reservation (I'm not sure about now since it's the pandemic). Went here this morning for a new prescription and glasses based on the reviews here and was not disappointed. A lot of the places I've been to before, especially in Alhambra, had long wait times to see the optometrist, the selection of frames is enormous and often times overpriced, it's crowded and noisy. This place had friendly and professional service, the equipment was modern, and when it came time to pick out the frames, they initially only showed me their most budget friendly frames. I had to ask to see the pricier ones. Overall, you get the sense the optometrist is genuinely interested in improving her patient's eyesight, and the staff is happy to help you pick the frames that fit your features and are also within your budget. Will be back next year to blow my benefits on another pair of glasses. read more

I bought my eyeglass there 5 months ago and the outside part of the frame is not holding the lenses now. I went back talking to them but they said because my lenses are high index so this would happen, they won't send back to the lab to fix. What? You sold me the frame and lenses but you are not response for that? Really irresponsible! My advise to everyone NOT going there! read more

I only needed replacement glasses (lens and frame) not an eye check up. Decided to try this place out because of the good reviews on Yelp. What I liked about them was that they are fast, friendly and don't frown on the fact that I wanted cheap glasses and not the many expensive designer offerings they have. What I did not like was that, with all the frames and designer selections in house; their frames all look the same and/or similar in style. I was hoping for variety, and even willing to pay designer prices if if they have cool frames that are different. Overall the my experience was not horrible, because I just needed glasses right away. But if I was really SHOPPING for frames and want different options it was not super great. of I give it an OK. Hope this helps a little. read more

Dr Yun is who you want to take care of your eyes. I was able to get a next-day appointment for Wednesday on Tuesday afternoon. She and her staff gave me a professional eye exam at the same price that Costco optometrists offer. During the exam, she diagnosed me with a lazy left eye, which my previous optometrists have never thought to mention (the last one just said I had a really bad left eye)! Additionally, I came back 3 hours later for a follow up consultation because I was worried about undiagnosed double vision in my left eye. Dr. Yun patiently explained I was not having double vision because my severe astigmatism, even corrected, caused a vertical blurring that was normal. She brought out a case of adjustable lenses and let me try on various prescriptions to alleviate my concerns. She definitely goes the extra mile for her patients, especially excessive worriers. I came here because I thought the price was good and because I could eat after having my eyes dialated. I will definitely be coming back. read more

I have VSP insurance. I went here for contact lenses and I have to paid out of pocket $85 dollars. $60 for fitting and $25 for copayment. I only get 18 lenses that equal to 3 boxes of contact lenses oasis acuvue extended wear. Insurance paid $150, they charged $50 per box; more than other optometrist. I normally get 4 boxes at the old place. That why I will not come back. I recently take my daughter some where else, she only paid $67.50 total and 4 boxes of same contact lenses that I have. read more

But its not kool when I have to wait 15 mins for the optometrist (who decides to be late for her 1st appt of the day) and only spent less than 10 mins with me... It might not bother other people who is insured.. But for someone who is paying her about $220 in cash for check up and new lenses.. I expect a little more interaction and patience.. Not to mention, she doesnt even offer something simple like cleaning up ur current glasses unlike other places I went that were much more welcoming... For this... I rather go to Walmart.. At least the optometrist there is more patient with her clients and more willing to spend the time... read more

Great selection of designer sunglasses. I love designer plastic framed sunglasses but can never find any to fit my face. I finally found an optometry store that sells stylish designer sunglasses that don't fall off my face. Got myself a nice pair of Valentino sunglasses. I've seen the same sunglasses at other retailers but the cost was always over $200. Got my pair at Rowland Optometry for a little over a hundred. School's rolling around the corner, so and I came in to get a new pair of glasses and some contacts for sports. My first impression was how they presented the store with a classy and professional atmosphere, yet comfortable. I explained to them what I needed and got me started right away, even without an appointment. After the eye exam, checking out the variety of collections was quite impressive. For the guys brands like Raybans, Prada, Gucci, Tom Fords, etc. but the womens collection was even greater! I didn't really check them out but the Tiffany's and Chanel collection really stood out. Anyways the prices were very reasonable, with exam/contacts cost that is matched with Walmart (found out after shopping around), and you don't feel burdened to pick something and get out. However, after trying on few designer brand named glasses I noticed ,due to my asian nose structure, the glasses wouldn't hold up. They recommended different types of glasses with a nose piece that looked great and catered to those who can't always buy expensive named glasses. The point is they're not just trying to rip every penny out of you which I really liked (though I ended up buying a Prada =O). Highly recommended, friendly, fast, one of the widest collections I've seen in the local area, and down to earth in price. Hope that helps! read more
