This place consists of two separate providers: optometry service (Dr. Wesley Chant, O.D.), and optical service (glasses and lens). Each does their own separate appointment scheduling and billing. For eye exams, Dr. Chant is very thorough with the examination and answered my questions. When there are other patients waiting, you may feel rushed, but that is expected anywhere. He is there only a couple days during the week, not every day this store is opened. For selecting your glasses, ask to speak to Diana and she will take care of you. Sometimes they are a bit disorganized and communication may be chaotic, and you may need to call them to find out when your glasses are ready for pick-up, but the pros for supporting this small business is less waiting time and more attentive service. read more

Word to the wise: Never ignore the small mom-and-pop shops. My girlfriend needed a new pair of glasses, so we decided to look around and compare available frames and prices, just to see what was out there. We happened to be running errands in the area and searched on Google Maps for nearby optical shops that were still open, and stumbled upon Agape Optical. They look small from the outside, which initially made us skeptical, but we gave them a chance and once we were inside, we noticed that they had a very extensive frame selection. The staff here is super patient, accommodating and helpful. Jenny, Ken and especially Diana were wonderful and knowledgeable. Diana is very funny and sociable too. Since my girlfriend is very picky about all sorts of things, especially glasses, with the help of the staff, we were able to easily narrow down to a few candidates, and ultimately chose a reddish-pink-colored frame from Swarovski, which looked elegant, blingy and closely matched with my girlfriend's new hair color. Diana and Jenny also went above and beyond to help get us the lowest price on the frame and lenses. Because these were progressive lenses, we knew they wouldn't be cheap, but in the end the price ended up being very surprisingly reasonable and cost about $200 less than the previous pair that my girlfriend purchased at a different store closer to us. The new lenses took about 2 weeks to make as well as fit onto the new frame, which was reasonable for progressives. We got a text message once they were ready, and even though we got in near closing time, Diana was very nice about it and she and Ken went to great lengths to adjust the new frame so that it was reasonably comfortable while still usable. Sat on my glasses frames for my birthday so unfortunately had to get myself a birthday gift that was not on my wishlist. On a whim I called this place as I was in the area. Their availability on a Saturday afternoon was a big plus. From the moment I stepped in it felt very familiar. As a Taiwanese American it was both homey and comforting to hear mandarin in the tone and more importantly dry sarcasm that I grew up around. I felt my mandarin improved significantly as the lady I spoke with spoke to me in mandarin. I started to find words in my vocabulary that I didn't know I had. If you know what I'm talking about...then you know. Growing up, it was almost mandatory to go get a new pair of glasses everytime I visited Taiwan because of the apparent deep discounts so the whole vibe of the store was something that was both familiar and comforting. Long story short I ended up splurging on a more expensive pair of frames than I normally would have. The frame itself was not salvageable and the shape of my lens did not match the frames they had in stock. But, they took the time to readjust my current spectacles as best as they could to be serviceable until the new pair comes in. In short, great experience and the nostalgia of it all took it over the top. Look forward to getting my new pair of spectacles soon. read more

Last week I bought a pair of glasses in this store. I bought my new frame I really liked online, and I just needed a pair of lenses, so I checked my myopia there and asked them to make new eyeglasses for me. Doctor was professional. However the sales ladies are horrible. Since I didn't buy my frames there, they all together kept criticizing my frames, but I had bought them several weeks ago, so I couldn't return them. I don't think there is anything wrong with my frames, it's just that I didn't purchase it from them, so they can't make more profit. Otherwise there is no reason to criticize my frames because it's new. About a week later, I went to pick up my new glasses. When I confirmed that everything was fine. The clerk of the store looked at my old glasses and asked me what to do with them? I didn't quite understand what she meant, so she asked if I wanted to get another new pair of lenses? I was surprised and said: Don't I already have a pair of new glasses? She smiled awkwardly and ignored me until I walked out of the store. They give me the feeling that if they don't make much money, they don't bother to care about you. They really need to be careful with their attitude. Unprofessional customer service. read more

I'm saved!!! I haven't gotten new glasses in the past 3 years... so shopping for glasses had become so unfamiliar and new to me. I was worried that I'd be obligated to listen to a cringey sales pitch or "those look fine!" when they really dont (I actually listened to one at a different store before coming here tonight) However, this place is so honest, caring, and genuine! Jenny and Sophie (I hope I spelled their names correctly) were so helpful the moment I stepped inside the store. I addressed my concerns immediately and they took time to understand my situation. I did not pick out any of the frames to try on at all, the two ladies were the ones who picked out a batch for me to try on. Turns out, they really know their stuff and are willing to work around your face shape, style, and color! Honestly, I wasnt even expecting to choose a pair of glasses tonight... but the Swarovski frames that they picked out were SO nice. I just HAD to make the arrangements tonight to get this purchase complete! I'd like to also say that even though there was a bit of a language barrier, there was no issue. They fully understood me and if there was some uncertainty, they took the time and patience to understand me. I did not feel rushed at all.
