This has been my optometrist for the longest time and their service is alays great! Super easy to make appointments, very quick appointments and turnaround for contacts is quick. About a week out. This past appointment they did seem to lose my order and it took about 3 weeks to get my contacts, which wasnt too big of a deal for me. The doctor isn't too personable but gets the work done. Harvard Optometry is a lifesaver. Accidentally sat on my glasses the other day (it happens) and ended up bending my frames. I didn't really have the time to go all the way to LA nor did I want to drive all the way there to visit the optometry where I purchased my frames, so I came in to see if they can help me fix my frames. I asked them for a quick consultation, and their optometrist Dr. Barbara Park took me into her office. She was very nice, professional, and put me at ease. It was the most pleasant consultation I've ever had at an optometric center. The owner is a lady named Michelle, and she had my sunglasses frames tightened free of charge while I was in consultation - which was very nice. This place is a little out of the way for me, but I'll be back based on their professional attitude and friendly customer service. I remember coming here as a kid 20 years ago with my parents. My whole family used to come here on an annual basis to get glasses and contacts. It was like an annual event and it was always a blast because the staffs were super friendly. Fast forward 20 years, I'm now married working a job with eye insurance of my own. I haven't been here for quite some time due to college and work locations, but I finally got the chance to come back after a long time. I was surprised to see that the same people were still working here after 20 years-I felt super nostalgic. They were as pleasant as the first time I met them. They made great suggestions and I was able to get the perfect pair of glasses. Just like 20 years ago, it felt like an annual event and the visit was a blast. It takes honesty and integrity to operate a business for more than 20 years in the same location, by the same owner, and staff. I've been a long time customer for at Harvard Optometric Center for 5 years and I don't plan on going anywhere else! The staff at Harvard Optometric are always so kind and helpful. They make the process of getting glasses and contacts so easy and fast. I am blind as a bat when it comes to my eyesight but the staff provided me with great recommendations: blue-blocking lenses (great for those who WFH and stare at computers all day), concentrating my lenses so I don't have coke bottle glasses and cute/stylish frames! Additionally, I have astigmatism and allergies and they provided me choices of contacts that worked with my insurance AND my budget. My eyes thank you! Within the 5 years, I bought two sunglasses from Harvard Optometric. The staff definitely knows how to make good frame recommendations! I recommended this place to my family and my cousins! bought my sons glasses here a couple months ago the first optometric place wanted to charge me over $200 with insurance for glasses. i thought ok fine. but it took do long getting them i cancelled it found this place w a good assortment if kids glasses. found a pair and for the same glasses w the same insurance it cost me $87. EIGHTY SEVEN FUCKING DOLLARS. the man who helped me on the phone and at the store was really nice and swift w getting everything done. they got it done the same day! fast forward to today: son snaps his glasses while cleaning them! 10am we are here. same guy helped us again. showed him glasses that were taped up. and hes like oh. he finds the same pair different color and i asked him if i can just pay for tbe frames (out of pocket because we already used his insurance coverage for the year). he said of course and said 20% off. i said thank you and asked him to just double check our insurance maybe it already reset. low and behold it did. so we got a back up pair again for $87. read more

I went to a new place (Jin) and compared my actual blue light lenses to the one I received here, and realized Harvard optometry didn't give me a blue light lenses. I'm disappointed and feel scammed. My family and I have been coming here for over a decade, and for good reason. The staff here treat you like family, and will always make sure you're taken care of before leaving the door. Since going to college and starting my job, I've tried out a couple of different places to get my glasses. In all those experiences, I've found that the prescription and clarity of my glasses were never quite as nice as when I come to Harvard Optometric. In addition to the quality of the eyewear themselves, the friendly staff is yet another plus. Everyone is super knowledgeable, and willing to talk to you about any questions you might have. If you ever have problems with your eyewear, they make remedying the situation as easy as it could be. I 100% recommend this place. If you don't have an insurance, do not speak English or just don't know much about anything, this is a great place for you. I was told that the cost of exam, fitting and a pair of contact were $240. My insurance only covers up to $160, so I paid the difference of $80. I called their contact distributor directly and they said that the contacts were sold at $80. I was furious after finding out about this, and called the Harvard Optometric (Optometric? Is this even a word??). A gentleman innocently claims that shipping and handling are well over $100 for the contacts.... $100 for shipping and handling of tiny little contacts in two small vials. They must require significantly delicate touch of scammers. This is the greatest business plan. Simply pass on the full cost of the merchandise directly to the patients and also claim the maximum amount allotted to the insurance. I wish I could've paid more, directly to fund the scammers here including the licensed owner, Dr. Dennis S. Jhee, but just didn't get a chance. They should set up an account at the go-fund-me website, so people like myself can just dump the cash onto them for no apparent reason. Go screw yourselves. TO ALL VISITORS, JUST GET THE EXAMS, GET PRESCRIPTIONS FOR GLASSES AND CONTACTS AND EXIT. One of only few Korean owned Optometric shop near by and that's what make our family come to this place every time we need eye checked and glasses checked. Mostly Korean customers and I saw some Chinese as there are lot of them living near this vicinity. Service they provide are fair to good depending on who you deal with but ladies are generally friendlier in my opinion. Lots of frames to choose from although prices are not the lowest. read more

I've been going here since I was 9. Placed in a plaza that was almost only exclusive to the Korean population of the area, I was so pleased to see all sorts of customers, color and creed were there. It was beautiful to me. Is this not the American dream, to walk into an establishment and see the melting pot of America? The point I want to get across is that, yes it is in a very Asian looking plaza, but get this: the staff here has always been friendly. I've been going to Harvard Opto for a long time. The staff are friendly, and they won't charge you extra or anything like that. You get quality work with quality product every time. The examer is very friendly, they are very thorough and offer a free exam with a purchase of contacts and or glasses. They keep a very good record. I had moved for several years, and I had gone back when I was back in the area and they had all my information still there, even with the doctor's small personal notes. Though they accept walk ins, some times they are busy- so if you are going to be taking an exam with your purchase I would call in advance. If you go and walk in- the Chinese place next to it is awesome, but so is the Korean BBQ place across the ways in the same plaza. Anyone is welcomed here. All they care about is helping you with your vision and also at the same time making sure you still feel confident with your new glasses and or contacts. I've been going here since I was 7 years old! So the main lady that works here knows me like family. Very kind and very accommodating. The service here is incredible. Glasses are pretty expensive but they have many many many varieties of styles and price ranges so just look around. Oh, and don't be too weirded out when the lady follows you around to give you more options on the frames! That's just how friendly she is :) They do take vision insurance so make sure to double check that. Tip: try asking for discounts! Most likely you'll get one ;) read more

I'm greatly offended by the review that stated if don't know English, no insurance and are clueless about eye exam procedure. The consultants primary language is Korean but they are perfectly capable communicating in English. I have insurance that reimburse for the cost of eye exam and glasses. They are always willing to work with the reimbursement amount. For example, I got pair of Oakley reading glasses with lenses that included blue blocker. The cost of Oakley is $300.00, lenses is $100.00 and blue blocker is $100.00 which totals $500.00. I got all that for fraction of the price. Today's appointment was for 3 eye exams and 3 pairs of glasses with anti glare, blue blocker and stigmatism. The price for all this was extremely low. I'm always satisfy with their outstanding customer service and price. I'm a loyal customer for life. read more

A terrible experience, I didn't think service could be that bad but it can! Went in to buy a pair of $200 black Tag Heuer frames. The woman at the counter guaranteed that they could change the lens to prescription sunglasses and that it would take a week. Three weeks later, after endless calls and excuses, they were ready and I came in to pick them up. They showed me the Tag Heuer and I was shocked at how bad they came out. 1. The frames were the WRONG color! It wasn't black, it was brown. When I told them, they tried to argue with me until I pointed out the black frames behind the counter. 2. The prescription lens were a joke. They actually jiggled in the frames, that's how badly they fit. They fit so badly, the woman actually "popped" the lens out of the frames and popped it into the black frames. By this point, I was demanding my money back and the woman behind the counter refused, told me they were custom and that the lens were suppose to fit loosely in the frames. I'm amazed this place does any business at all since they have ridiculously high prices, shoddy products, and flat out lie to customers. AVOID!! read more

Been coming here for years. First off it's conveniently located across the street from my place. Staff is wonderful and accommodating, but my favorite thing about this place is that it's super quick! I can call a few hours in advance to schedule my eye exam, their pricing is comparable to WALMART (trust me I've done my research) and is definitely affordable. I needed new glasses right away and I got my frame AND lenses put in on the same day! Walmart said it would take 1-2 weeks!! (Ain't nobody got time for that!!) Can't complain.
