This was my first visit to The Town of Stoneham. It is Tuesday and driving through Stoneham it's a…read morebusy day. Cars, trucks and all types of other vehicles just bustling through town like everybody knew where they were going except us. Nice little town and our guide was our cousin, who was giving us directions on how to get to what remains of the farm. We were given directions to Franklin Street where the farm house still exist. I always wanted to visit here because of the history that was told to me by relatives. The farm house still looks beautiful and is very well kept. We were told that the house had been here since 1749, and the original owner was Elisha Knight. I will probably never make it back here but, at least I got my chance in time to visit here. It started raining on Tuesday and it is chilly outside but, the colors on the maple trees are gorgeous and very picturesque to say the least. I have no clue of what to give this review since I would be playing favorites. I hope some of you make it here on the same time of year as I did.

I grew up in Stoneham and wouldn't ever say the people here are a bunch of "blue collar, no class" because has he even been to Stoneham? There are the rich snobby families just like anywhere else. Where did this guy grow up? Okay driving down Main St isn't the whole thing buddy. I believe every town has a Main Street, no? Am I wrong? Are no other towns are busy on their main road? Hmm so weird. We're right on two major highways, how is this not a perfect location. About or less than a ten minute drive once on 93 to Boston; without traffic; ehhm, how is that beat? My neighborhood has a neighborhood feel. If you're a crab and don't talk to people or aren't friendly, yes, you won't have a neighborhood feel. But in my neighborhood, we're always at someone's BBQ or bon fire.. 4th of July, I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else besides in my neighborhood. So many festivities to participate in! The school systems are.. from what I know, semi improving since recent years. All new elementary schools and I pray the Middle School is next. I am 24, so I am unaware of the school systems now since I have been out of that for a while and also not looking because I don't have children. If my parents were to leave me their house, I'd gladly accept it and raise my family here. And to say to get to Revere.... buddy; pathetic. We're like four towns over, get your geography right, jerk off.

Place was not busy at the time we arrived! The restaurant was quite stunning since it was a big place! Waitress came over in we placed our drinks and salad. Caesar's salad very tasty not too much dressing enough to keep your palate refreshed! We order our entrees, grilled swordfish, tagliatelle alla genovese and Rigatoni alla Bolognese. The grilled swordfish was PERFECTLY grilled, and the Pasta dishes were all excellent! Desert was Creme brulee and chocolate mousse cake all were delicious ! They don't rush you out after eating. Also there was live music which you hardly see at a fine dining Italian cuisine. Overall the prices were moderate $$$-$$$$ Would go again ! The word " SOGNO", in Italian means "DREAM!" so if you are looking for dreaming cuisine go to SOGNO you won't be disappointed!

Sogno is a stylish and energetic addition to Woburn, and the food is generally excellent. The…read moredining room has a lively vibe, and the service is friendly and attentive. The Burrata is a very good dish with cherry tomatoes, basil, garlic oil, aged balsamic, and grilled ciabatta. Even knowing burrata is an expensive ingredient, the price feels high for what you get. One of my go‑to entrées is the Rigatoni alla Bolognese, which is consistently satisfying whether ordered traditional or oven baked with fresh ricotta. One thing regulars will notice is that Sogno tends to rotate many fan favorites off the menu. Servers openly acknowledge that guests ask for certain dishes to return, but they also explain that the chef and owner decide what stays and what goes. It can be frustrating when a great dish disappears without warning. Another thing worth mentioning: Sogno often features live music. If that is not your thing, make sure to request a table as far away from the performance area as possible because the sound carries and can make conversation difficult. Lastly, although the owner also owns the building, he has a habit of parking his four‑door Mercedes wherever he wants rather than in an actual parking spot. It comes across as pretentious and unnecessary. If I were to park where he does, I am sure I would be towed. Sogno has a lot going for it: strong food, a fun atmosphere, and a polished dining room, however; a few quirks are worth knowing before you go.

The Prospect Hill Monument is a stone structure in the shape of a mini Castle & is located in Somerville, Massachusetts just outside of Boston. This is a residential area with homes. It is also a historic site & provides panoramic views of Boston & surrounding cities. There is also a small park in this neighborhood here with green grass, park benches & a good spot for picnicking & relaxing. It's great place to visit Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall with a changing natural New England landscape. BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU PARK OTHERWISE YOU MAY GET A TICKET. Park only at the signs where it says it's OK to Park; it's a residential area. You can also visit here by Mass Transit too. This site is only a few blocks away & up the hill from the bustling heart of Union Square. There are a lot of local businesses & eateries there. The medieval fortress tower was constructed out of stone & steel. It was built in 1903 to commemorate the site's military importance during the Revolutionary & Civil Wars. The Tower stands 4 stories tall. Climb the stairs to the the first outdoor open deck, & you'll see great views of Boston, Somerville, & Cambridge. The inside of the tower & top were open pre-pandemic periodically at various times. Check the website for current info & updates. Be sure to go all around the tower on the ground level. There are plaques with lots of detailed info all around the tower. Also check out all the signs throughout the Park telling you even more info about this spot & how it was instrumental in uniting the colonies. On January 1, 1776, General George Washington himself who would later become the first President of the United States, during the Revolutionary War hoisted the very first national flag of America on this very spot. It was called the Grand Union Flag & predates The Famous Betsy Ross Flag. Our current red & white Stripes with 50 Stars flag is not flown here. Lots of people miss this. Zoom in with your camera & you will see the First Flag of America. The Grand Union Flag is still flown here on top of the tower. It has red & white stripes but with the blue British Union Jack in the corner instead of the Stars. It's Pretty Cool that they still fly our very first national flag here. To make it worth your trip be sure to visit the extremely popular Union Square Donuts which has Great Donuts & is only a few blocks away. It used to be, you had to have Mega Bucks & be really Rich to have the Good Life, not anymore. The Game has changed. You've been Upgraded. Now You Can Live Like a King on a Limited Budget!

To…read morestart, we ordered a perfectly cooked octopus antipasti, followed by tortellini alla norcina, and for a secondi the vitello alla petroniana (we were debating between this pasta/secondi combination and the pasta bolognese/swordfish special - will have to come back to get these next time!). I don't typically eat veal, and this cutlet was perfectly balanced - rich, savory, crispy, with a pleasant (but not overwhelming) salty kick from the prosciutto and parmigiano reggiano. We also ordered the spicy broccolini, which I highly recommend for the garlic lovers out there. For dessert we had the dark cherry (amarena?) gelato, which was delicious and creamy, with the perfect amount of sweetness. We shared each dish, and it was certainly plenty of food for the two of us. Prices felt reasonable for the amount and quality of what we ordered (all of the above + 2 drinks from the bar totaled approx. $160 pre-tip). The restaurant space itself is relatively small but has enough space to move around comfortably, which made it cozy without ever getting too loud (it was a pretty full house when we went), with a balanced dim lighting. Additionally, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the server patiently walked us through the menu and shared suggestions at our request. On a personal note I am especially appreciative of the staff, as I accidentally left without my hat, and the restaurant responded almost immediately to the message I sent through the restaurant website that same evening. Tl;dr - great menu, rich & hearty but balanced ingredients/recipes, and comfortable vibe. One really gets the impression that the husband/wife owners had a specific vision that they successfully brought into reality.

Great ambiance with perfect lighting and temperature. The room is set up perfectly with the oven sort of the center piece in the rear of the restaurant. The night I was there, we were full! lots of activity around the entire restaurant. We were met immediately by a waiter, who took our drink order and dropped off some delicious bread with some oil. The calamari and eggplant appetizers were out of this world! For the main dish, we had pizza, a beautiful arugula salad and the honey lavender duck! My wife was thrilled with the arugula. She has mentioned several times since we went how good it was. The pizza was a strong B+. I liked the size for one...6 slices and they were tasty and my son is still talking about the lavender duck! What a surprise! We did not get a dessert....we plan to next visit.....they looked great as they passed our table but we held back!
