New and old, all in one spot. In the old you have vintage cobblestone street where a car would have trouble getting through, to the Neveau, where the high society lives. Although our tour guide wasn't sure of the exact locations this is where Tom Brady called home, and where John Kerry among others live. Its a nice bustling neighborhood and is worth your time to walk through and look around. We only had a few minutes to look around, but from my brief experience here it's a beautiful neighborhood with some high-end shops to look browse as well.

This is the old part of Boston with red brick buildings, cobblestone streets, church, uphill street and lots of cute little shops. It was nice to stroll around and it had a quiet, quaint and high society vibe. There was a beacon hill book and cafe and j.p. licks ice cream shop both located on charles street. It's worth the visit if you are in Boston.

11-22-22 The words Beacon Hill caught my eye reading blogs on Pinterest for itineraries to do in Boston. Beacon Hill, Acorn Street and Charles Street were our destination points for today. Yes, all 3 spots were challenging to find and lucky for us the old adage Don't talk to strangers, told to most kids including myself, guess once you reach a certain age, you have the choice to judge yourself. Believe me, we asked many people on the street for directions even a policeman. Only 2 ignored us, a lady with head phones on and a foreign exchange looking student. The others stopped with a smile to offer assistance and even a few who heard me asking another person approached to give us directions. The affluent live and shop here. Private streets requiring permits, gas lamps lit in broad daylight, pumpkins on step ups and even LaVerne and Shirley type below street level are prevalent here. Cool door knockers, stained glass, red brick, wind swept maple leaves.., all added to the charm of this neighborhood. The policeman said Mt. Vernon Street. The delivery guy told me Cedar Stteet. A very polished and well dressed woman told us specifically which way to go cuz we were so close and that it's a small, pretty street. They were each the most helpful. Know what? Beacon Hill is an area. Acorn Street is unsigned. I asked a young man who just came out of a doorway, is this Acorn Syreet. He nodded yes. Charles Street we stumbled upon after Acorn Street and chose Figs(Italian) to have a very late lunch and park it. I needed to sit and rest. So very glad our first day back in a month, here's three to check off our Boston Thanksgiving 2022 bucket list. Magical, whimsy around every corner, this fall into Christmas season is wonderful to hoof it and literally wander, explore using the T: use the blue line to Boudin or red line to Charles Street station and keep asking. So many nice Bostonians you will come across. Harvey the pup was a joy...cute puppies, you get me every time.

The Harvard Bridge - Amazing sunset on the Harvard Bridge

If you're driving over the bridge during rush hour traffic it can get a little backed up but for the most part traffic moves pretty smoothly going from one end to the other. This is the bridge that connects Boston to Cambridge so if you are doing a walk along the bridge you can get some gorgeous views of the Boston skyline and MIT. I have walked over this bridge many times and I always make it a point to stop for a break every now and then during the walk so I can take in the views. Anytime you can walk over this bridge during a sunset is definitely a bonus!

From the beautiful sunrises and sunsets to the spectacular views of the Boston skyline; you'll be sure to witness some magical sights while on this bridge. As I was riding the bus from Boston to Cambridge, I couldn't help but notice how stunning the views of the city were while it crossed over this bridge. I noticed several pedestrians walking and running across, so I immediately stopped at the next bus stop and headed there to get a closer view. It was the perfect time too because the sun was starting to set. Walked across the bridge and then stopped to admire the colors in the sky. Stunningly beautiful views! Not only did I have the perfect sunset, but the city views were amazing too. The skyline glows at night! If you're someone who enjoys scenic vistas, then you will definitely appreciate what the Harvard Bridge has to offer. The walk across the bridge is pretty delightful as well. There will be other people and of course cars crossing, but it still has this element of peace to it. Maybe I was just too entranced by the sunset to pay attention to anything or anyone else. I did notice that other people stopped and watched the sunset too and took several pictures. I'm guessing that this is a popular spot for it. It felt extremely safe to maneuver even during the night. When in Boston, you're probably gonna have to cross this bridge at some point to reach Cambridge. You might as well make it a point to take a nice little stroll over the Harvard Bridge while you're here. I'd say that it's worth it and so would my pictures too.

When Bae is having an argument with someone, I always Back Bae in the argument, after all, she's the one I'll be home with later on. And I mean look at her. There are many neighbourhoods of Boston that I love and many that I have spent a lot of time in. One of my favorites is Back Bay which I was surprised to learn didn't used to be an actual neighbourhood. It was just a bunch of water that was filled in and turned into a fake makeshift brand new neighbourhood back in the 1800s or so. Well they did a great job with it, because now it's fancy and fun and filled with college students and wonderful stuff to do. It seems very livable too, despite traffic and awful parking. So like I said, they did a really excellent job with it. I come back here whenever I get the chance and I'm sure I'll be back here in future as well. Now my cat is writhing all over the place and begging to be petted, and he's way more fun than even Back Bay, so for this reason I'm going to head out and pet him some more. Make sure you come to Back Bay for food and for nightlife and for Boba because it's all here, and the Kung Fu Tea right here is the best of the Boba, while Boston Shawarma is one of the food highlights.

I had this on my sightseeing list for my visit to Boston, it was nice getting to check off two spots at once since I was coming to Boston Commons to start my self guided tour of the freedom trail. That's how we discovered the statue known as "The Embrace" and learned that it was a monument reflecting Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King's love and time together in the city where they met. The statue is very creative, I mean how unusual is it to see a memorial dedicated to two very famous people that doesn't include their faces? Instead, the Embrace represents a hug and the greater meaning of love. The bronze monument is 20-feet tall and 25-feet wide. There are walls near the monument inscribed with quotes from the Kings, including this from Coretta Scott King: "Love is such a powerful force. It's there for everyone to embrace--that kind of unconditional love for all humankind. That is the kind of love that impels people to go into the community and try to change conditions for others, to take risks for what they believe in".
