Liz and the WINK! team were integral to the success of our wedding day! From our first meeting to venue loadout, WINK! had our best interests in mind throughout the entire process. They were on top of all of our vendors and explaining the wedding decor set up was easy and pain free so that by the time we were walking down the aisle, we were able to focus on each other and the fun and memorable parts of the wedding day. Additionally, Liz and team were cordial and accommodating to all of the other vendors and made sure to keep us aware of only information we needed to know. Our catering company was late and Liz was on top of it immediately, problem solving with our bartending vendor to make sure service was on point. Also, our chair and furniture rental vendor was late for pickup, and WINK! made sure to stay on top of them so that we didn't end up getting charged for overtime at the venue (which had a strict load out policy). The rentals vendor nearly cost us extra, but with Liz's excellent communication and patience, Wink was able to get the rentals ina and out on time, while also appeasing the venue in a diplomatic manner. Overall, the process and day-of with Liz was fun and filled with joy! WINK! is a dream to work with and we quite literally could not have accomplished all that we did without them. The outstanding crew at WINK designed and executed my 50th birthday party on 7/12/17, and it was stunning! The vendors they referred and hired were the perfect team. We set up an incredible outdoor long table for 26 guests, a private chef with staff was hired, florals arrived and were lush and beautiful (thank heaven WINK knew when they should go out -- in the heat of that day, they would have wilted if they went out early). WINK even managed to wrangle our pet dogs out of the semi-indoor plating area. They were trying to steal the roasted duck! Everything was perfect and they're gifted design team took my basic idea and made it so elegant and glamorous...just amazing. From all the compliments we got thus far, I am going to say this about Wink Weddings: GODSEND. My Husband and I got married April 18, 2015 at Rancho Del Cielo in Malibu California and Elizabeth from Wink Weddings was amazing! Our venue had its kinks (from preferred vendors to some mandatory to site representatives) and we had some issues the day of (From missing rentals from our rental orders to having rehearsal delayed an hour because of a fire on Kanan Road), but all of them were resolved by Elizabeth and her team. Not to mention during the big day, Elizabeth was in constant contact with me and my Husband if need be and she was the invisible hand that made our wedding a magical wedding experience. My Husband and I felt extremely grateful that Elizabeth was at the helm for our big day because our venue, being a la carte, had a lot of vendors coming in and out and many pieces to be assembled together. We contracted with Wink Weddings in September/October and we had never had communication issues with Wink Weddings and if we needed something that we felt was urgent, we would call and or e-mail and within 24 hours we had answers. Wink Weddings' monthly e-mails were extremely helpful, especially the closer we got to the wedding date because one e-mail contained information about obtaining our wedding license, proper procedure and costs. This saved us so much time and put us at ease the closer we got to the big day. Wink Weddings does meet with you initially and close to the wedding, to see where you are and what you need to be Wedding Day Ready. Additionally, Wink Weddings is truly above and beyond because a wedding doesn't finish when you say "I Do." My husband and I were married November 7th, 2015 at Rancho Dos Pueblos in Santa Barbara. I was picky with wedding planners. I didn't know what I wanted - but I knew that I didn't want traditional. WINK! struck me as fun, creative, whimsical - and after meeting Liz Vining...the most professional, no nonsense Disney princess I've ever met :) Liz and Layne and their entire team was INCREDIBLE! They carried off a wedding full of complicated logistics (our venue was a rustic space where we had to bring in everything from toilets to water to electricity - not to mention that we insisted on an upteenth number of personal details and touches), they designed the wedding that was better than what I had ever imagined, and they did it all with boundless energy and big smiles. If only I could give zero stars... Horrible customer service. Exchanged a couple of initial inquiry emails (very slow to respond) and finally met with one of their wedding coordinators. Was interested in moving forward with their styling package but just never heard from them again. Followed up with them via email and phone multiple times but they just dropped all communication. We worked with Elizabeth Brandon and I cannot say enough good things about her! She is so responsive, creative, caring, and thinks of everything. I used Elizabeth as a partial/day-of planner, but she did so much more. Since we planned a destination wedding, I never had a chance to meet Elizabeth until our rehearsal. I trusted her completely and felt comfortable having her for our wedding from the very beginning. She responded quickly to every (and there were MANY) email I sent her. She had such great ideas and really helped me tie the whole wedding together to get a very cohesive feeling. I had so many questions because we planned an intimate wedding of 25 people, with the ceremony and reception in the same location. You don't see many weddings of this size or structure, so it was hard to find a good sample on the wedding blogs. Liz had so many ideas on how the wedding should flow! She was flexible and did our rehearsal early (the day before our wedding, the venue was booked for another wedding) and she let me ship her some decor items for the wedding, since I didn't have anywhere else to send them. I shipped a giant (and heavy) cornhole game to her that she lugged to the site for me and she was such a great sport about it! She even did some last minute decor assembly I did not get to finish. She went beyond wedding planner duties and helped out as if she were my best friend! Elizabeth is able to stay calm and keep me calm! During the ceremony, my Grandmother fainted and an ambulance needed to be called. It was obvious that she had handled this sort of situation before. She helped keep all of my family so calm, and got the wedding back on track once they took my Grandma to the hospital. Elizabeth is one of those people you feel like is an old friend the first time you meet her. I cannot thank her enough! read more

I have nothing but awesome things to say about Elizabeth Vining/WINK Weddings in general! We planned our wedding (10/11/14) in Malibu from Portland, and we couldn't have done it without her. From helping us find the best vendors in our budget, to answering my random-question emails, to wrangling my family and our wedding party (which is not unlike herding cats)... Liz did it all. She's like a wedding super hero! We hired her last October and we worked together for almost a year before the wedding. From our first Skype meeting Liz was fun, friendly, organized and professional, and worked with us to help us put together a beautiful wedding that represented us perfectly. We worked with Liz Vining and she was absolutely amazing!! From our initial meeting with Liz, she just clicked with us and we were comfortable immediately. She is friendly, fun, and professional all in one package. She takes into consideration your budget, family traditions, and individual styles/quirkiness. She is awesome and we are so glad we asked her to be our wedding planner. We got the premier coordination package with the budget mapping, foundations, and vendor selection! Liz was able to respond to all of our questions and concerns with a knowledge of someone with experience. I think the only down point that i had was that I wish she could have been more responsive in letting us know that she was working on something or got our email so I didn't have to send her check up emails. But please note that I am a pretty detail oriented, want everything quickly kind of person so the time issue might just be with me. Other than that Liz really helped us tremendously to bring our wedding together even with the slight weather issue of rain. She was able to rearrange and make our wedding flow smoothly without us panicking or stressing on our wedding day. Another downpoint unfortunately was that we heard her team wasn't very helpful. They were usually standing around talking with each other. Finding out after that they weren't helping made me not very happy as some things they could have been doing instead of our family and friends or at least helping liz arrange things and such. If you're considering using Wink! to plan your next event, you have made the absolute best decision. Liz, Layne, and their entire team are incredible. It's like planning your wedding with your best friend, but your friend happens to be a magical wizard. I know that sounds silly, but they truly take your ideas and bring them to life in a way that really is magical. They are there with you every step of the way. From curating an idea or theme for your event, to picking out the tiniest of details, to juggling opinions of many different and sometimes difficult family members. They really do it all. I couldn't have imagined a more professional, caring, and fun team of people to work with. They were always one step ahead of us. Hiring Wink! was one of the worst decisions we could have made for our wedding. They were the 2nd vendor we hired a year before our wedding date in June. We chose to go with Wink because we met their event manager Stacy from the Northern CA team and thought she would be the perfect person to help carry out our vision. At that time she indicated to us that she would be the one executing our day. There were a few email exchanges in between where Stacy helped read over some contracts and helped answer random questions. Unfortunately in March 2015 she notified us that she was relocating, and that Amanda (who was formally her assistant) was taking over our wedding event. We knew nothing about Amanda, never met her in person nor did we get to decide if we wanted her to execute our day. With 3 months left, we decided to give her a chance and not voice our concerns quite yet. As Amanda started to take on the coordination tasks, we could tell there was a huge lack of experience. It was very apparent she did not look over to confirm our contracts for specific details that were crucial to our day. When we did our walkthrough, there were multiple times where we could tell she had never run a big event. She kept insisting that we could fit 10 chairs in a 60 inch round, and 8 ft farm table. Even after both the catering manager and myself explained we couldn't do this, she still proceeded to send me hand drawn floor plans with these specifics. We reached out to the owner for support and a chance to solution our concerns. The owner of Wink!, Mark, can only be reached via email interesting enough and when we asked for him to provide a number so we could talk, there was no number provided. We found this very odd that this is how he conducts business. We sent a few emails, and he responded back (in my opinion) in a hostile form both times. He was so quick to email a response but couldn't pick up the phone to give us a call. He reiterated that there was "No Refund" which basically shows what this business is all about. You can read our email exchanges in the photos attached or please message me and I will send them to you. The funny thing is we contacted a couple of more wedding planning companies after, and we found that everyone else's contracts aren't as wordy and lengthy in detail and the companies do not require final payment until the day of the wedding. This, in my opinion shows that they have run into this problem before therefore the long and wordy contract. Wink! requires full payment 2 months before the actual wedding date, which is why we were already paid in full and have lost everything even though we didn't even use them the day of the event. Nonetheless, we are happy that we decided to not use them on our wedding day. We found a new company a few short weeks before our day and they were a 100 times better compared to Wink! It would have been a nightmare if they executed our day, and I probably would have had to do everything myself. Mark forgot about who the client is and at the end of the day, in my opinion, was just concerned about collecting our money even if we were unhappy with how they substituted another event manager in place of the one who we thought was executing our day and didn't offer us any kind of resolution. We tried to contact him to work out our concern but instead he was unhelpful and never tried to give us a call. We were hoping he would work with us and give us another event manager who was more experienced but that was not the case. It was more of this is who you get, whether you like it or not. If you are thinking of using Wink! for your next event, I would seriously reconsider. There is no shortage of qualified planners in the industry, so please don't subject yourself to Wink.
