Just wanted to sing praises for the amazing support Alexis provided for our wedding dinner at Bar Chelou. My husband and I wanted to plan something of a wedding celebration dinner, and we knew we needed some help because we live on the other side of the country and also none of our family and friends were available to provide much support. JM Events came recommended to me by my photographer who had been in the wedding industry for over a decade. I set up a call with Lilian and we went over my vision for what kind of event I was envisioning and she discussed what kinds of services JME could provide for our event and also shared that they had planned and coordinated similar type events in the recent past. After our call, I also had meetings with other event coordination companies and it was clear to me that JM Events would be the best fit for us as they seemed the most competent and professional. I also liked that JM Events was based nearby our venue. Two months ahead of the event, Alexis began working with us. We tossed around a lot of high-level ideas we were considering and Alexis provided insight on whether or not or how they would work within the constraints of our venue and timeline. Alexis and Lilian also had vendor recs at the ready at different price points whenever we needed them as well. Over time we narrowed down which ideas we wanted at our wedding and Alexis provided invaluable insight on wedding logistics and restaurant service ops that we should consider in our planning. She attended our venue walkthrough with us so that we could begin to visualize placement for different "stations" at our wedding and also served as our advocate with the various vendors we had hired. She also checked in with us and the vendors over increments in time so that we met all of our venue deadlines and to ensure that all of the vendors were in lockstep with what we were planning.  The week of the event, Alexis worked to make sure to send out event confirmations with all of our vendors so that each vendor was prepared to arrive on time and any accommodation our vendors needed were provided. This was so impressive that my make-up artist asked me where I had found Alexis! Alexis and Lillian were consummate professionals through and through, I felt supported the entire time and any question I had was met with a very considered response that only a very experienced events planning professional could provide.  Our wedding celebration was one of the best days of both my husband and my lives. We also received so many compliments on our event, like "best wedding ever" and "can I copy your entire wedding?" I was on cloud nine the whole night and in watching some of my friend's video footage I saw Alexis working in the background making sure that our timeline was executed exactly as planned.  I know certainly that without JME and Alexis, our night would not have went off as seamlessly as it did and I am so grateful for JME and their team. Lilian and her team are TRULY amazing. I know everybody says that, but I hope that really goes to show the truth as to how incredible they are. We hired Lilian for partial wedding planning and day of coordination and I couldn't be happier with the services we received. I was pretty oblivious to the whole process going into this. My wife - who is a type A planner felt a little overwhelmed at the start, especially being paired with a guy like me who struggles to plan anything. We heard about Lilian from our friend. We spoke to a few planners but we felt that Lilian not only provided specialized business/financial insight - she provided us with a practical and comfortable approach for starting a process that seemed too intimidating to start. She sent us timelines for when vendors should be booked and and soft deadlines for us for follow about deciding the smaller details so we knew when what vendors or items needed to be secured and when they needed to be. She also sent us a budget form for our wedding which allowed us to get a sense for what everything would cost. We had a meeting where we went over what was important to us and set budgets accordingly. This turned out to be one of the most important things she did for us and feel the effects of this immediately post wedding. I got married last friday - 11.3, I don't feel entirely broke, but still felt like my wedding was a dream - if not the best day of my life one of them forsure. Lilian also did day of coordination for us which worked amazingly because she knew all the details for our wedding so well. She brought her team who was also amazing, shout out Jess and Iris for being so accommodating and helpful on the day of the wedding. If you're wondering why I stopped writing reviews on Yelp, well, it's because I was busy planning my wedding! But now I'm back to tell the stories! Get ready for it. I was introduced to Lilian from a friend whose wedding we attended shortly after we got engaged. I loved that Lilian was assertive and did not get bullied by the Asian aunties. I needed that for my own wedding! However, when we booked our venue, it was inclusive of a day-of coordinator. I spoke with Lilian several times, and she was always willing to give her advice, about whether it was still worth it to get my own outside coordinator. Lilian connected me with Leslie Ann on her team and after our first conversation, I told my fiance I need to have her be a part of our wedding. It's no surprise to most I'm crazy about organization with my excel trackers and many, many Google Driver folder. But, having Leslie Ann made a world of a difference. Leslie Ann immediately began help me put together a timeline, began collecting all my vendors information and contacting them. I also got a new job a month before the wedding and the planning itself became too overwhelming to manage. Leslie did everything and I was just cc'ed in all the emails. She was on all the calls with the vendors and our last appointment with our venue. She even met up with us to go over the final details the week before the wedding. I loved that she knew I would get nervous to not hear from her and she always updated me. She suggested many ideas which we ended up using on the wedding day and I honestly think Leslie was the glue that made our wedding day perfect. Let's talk about the wedding day. When the day finally came, we arrived to the venue with everything in place as we imagined. Leslie and her team even went the extra mile to add their own JME touch to decorations which I was so fine with because I suck in that field. AND she still had time to check in on us and asking if there was anything else we needed. Every single one of my other vendors said this was the most smoothest wedding they've ever been a part of. After hearing so many horror stories of how things go wrong on the day of, it was so surprising our day went by the way it did. We had only two small hiccups out of our control. One being from last minute cancellation due to Coronavirus scare and the other being the weather of will it rain or will it not. Leslie remained calm as I freaked out. I loved that I just got to enjoy the day rather than trying to hunt down people or remind someone of anything. So if you're sitting on the fence of getting a coordinator. We hired Lilian through a friend's referral. What's crazy is that the wedding vendor network is very tight, and everyone knows everyone. My wedding was back in December and our venue was in Orange County. I am so glad I got had Lilian and her team helping me organize our wedding, especially since we had 350 guests. It has been a week since our dream Palm Springs wedding and I'm still floating! I wanted to write this review for Lilian and the Just Merried Events team because they were just spectacular. The best advice I got for wedding planning was to get a coordinator! Hands down best decision we made. Initially I had planned to just hire for day of coordinating but after realizing how much DIY involvement was required for our venue I knew I needed more help. From the beginning it was clear Lilian was extremely pleasant to work with and very detail oriented! We started the process in 2019 for our April 2020 wedding but of course the pandemic put a major damper on that. The shut down and the surges caused us to postpone our wedding twice. I cannot tell you how great Lilian was with each postponement. She literally took care of everything and even when our final date fell on her birthday she never once mentioned it or fussed over it! She has great relationships with vendors, and has great recommendations for everything. Sometimes this even got us discounts with the vendor! She recommended our florist who really brought our wedding aesthetic to life. We had a long wedding weekend with Friday rehearsal dinner, Saturday wedding, then Sunday farewell pool party. Out of all the events the wedding was the least stressful because Lilian was there! I had the time of my life because all my energy was focused on having fun and actually enjoying all the details we worked so hard on. This review is long over due but as mentioned by previous brides, Lilian is FANTASTIC! She is professional, friendly, responsive, patient, understanding, and very knowledgeable on all things wedding. We hired Lilian and her team to assist us with our wedding planning a year+ in advance. I was overwhelmed with where to start and after our initial meeting with Lilian I knew we had to hire her. She provided great recommendations and advice in terms of budget, party size, venues, etc, and reassured me that there was no reason to be stressed so early on. Throughout our wedding planning process, Lilian made sure to always check in via email or text to ensure that we had everything on track and whether or not we had concerns or needed additional help with vendor contacts. Where Lilian really excels is her communication and ability to be your go to person with vendors. We had a minor hiccup in regards to a ceremony venue that we had already booked and paid a deposit for. They decided to cancel on us because there was a conflict of dates, and of course I had a minor break down. But, Lilian was a lifesaver and she helped us find an even better venue that I loved even more. It was definitely a blessing in disguise that our initial venue canceled on us. We hired Lilian as our wedding planner, after she planned and orchestrated my sister's wedding the year prior without a hitch, all the while with a smile on her face. After seeing her in action at my sister's wedding--poised, patient, organized, responsive, and just on top of everything--it was a no-brainer to hire her for my wedding too. Our wedding was a destination wedding in Maui, Hawaii. We were procrastinators and were super busy with work, so we hired her 6 months before the wedding. She did a ton of research for us, gave us a bunch of great options for the venue and vendors, and basically set up everything within ~1 month. She found a fantastic venue for us and negotiated with all the vendors with consideration of our budget. She really went above and beyond, and completely surpassed my expectations--and anyone that knows me, knows that I'm pretty picky. Lilian and I went on a separate trip before the wedding to Maui to see the venue and meet the vendors. That trip was so organized--she set up meetings with all the vendors, including tastings for our reception and cake, which both helped me feel at ease, as well as helped the vendors know what preferences and style I had. She was constantly on top of things, and even had all my preferences written down in advance, questions to ask the vendors, and she took notes during the meetings. She stayed on top of all the vendors via phone and email in all the days leading up to the wedding, kept track of due dates for payments, and even kept on top of us to send our videographer the DVD's and hard drives a month after the wedding was over. We ended up purchasing all our linens (because renting is Maui was even more expensive than buying!), and she took care of steaming and setting up the venue on the day of. She had even gone to Target, etc. to get vases, etc. as some supplemental decor (since we couldn't bring a bunch with us on the plane), and picked up some of our wedding guests from the airport. We have some high-maintenance family, so we often used her as the middle man, to help keep our stress levels down--THANK YOU, Lilian--that in itself was invaluable, and we love her for that! Besides seeing her in action exhibit all the great qualities you need in a wedding planner (super detail-oriented, organized, responsive, patient, etc.), she's also qualified. She went to school at UC Berkeley I think, and you can tell from working with her that she's super smart. I have so many amazing things to say about Lilian and her team at Just Merried Events, I'm sure this review won't even do them justice. I found Lilian through 2 co-workers who also hired her. We booked for the full wedding planning service and that was the best decision we made!! We were engaged for 1.5 years and throughout that time, Lilian and I have just vibed really well and I now consider her a friend :) I loved getting to know her and her team. I did have some phone calls with other planners, but felt the most connected to Lilian instantly. She was genuine, honest, sweet, and didn't push! When we had our first meeting at the Pie Shop, we knew she was our gal - someone who enjoyed good eats just as much as we did. She was super organized and wrote down a bunch of things in her notebook, surprising me throughout the process as she remembered so many things about us and what we said from that first meeting. We were planning on a Palm Springs wedding & that did make things a little more difficult, especially since we actually moved away from So-Cal during our engagement period. She made trips with us to Palm Springs twice, once even just 1 month post-partum and in 100 degree weather!!! That level of dedication is unreal. On our final trip to Palm Springs before the wedding, I felt so at ease with Lilian and Alexis (her lead coordinator) - we were able to laugh, joke, but still be super productive. We booked the Cree Estate, which is a gorgeous, photogenic venue & has the benefit of being very flexible with no vendor restrictions- however that did make the logistics difficult, as we had to build in a kitchen, bar, lighting, lounge furniture, etc etc. We loved it because the Cree was a blank canvas & we were able to create exactly what we wanted, but organizing all that would have left me with a headache. Thankfully I didn't have to deal with ANY of that because Lilian and Alexis kept all of it behind the scenes. I felt like such a bride-chilla because Lilian made the process so easy for us. Lilian and Alexis (her lead coordinator) were so responsive to emails and always thought about crucial details that honestly would not even occur to me. On the wedding day, we got to wake up at a leisurely time and relax because we knew we didn't have to worry. They took our vision and made it reality - even better than we could have imagined. Seriously our wedding was so magical! I remember during a point when the sun was setting, my husband and I just sat in awe admiring the reception set up. In addition, all the vendors she recommended were just incredible. My husband and I keep saying how we had the best team ever, from florists to photog & videographer to catering to DJ. Lilian also had so much resources on hand, from cake stands to little props. She also took on the task of calligraphing our escort cards onto marble tiles. She did an insane job and did this in less than a week. Our guests loved those little tiles! So this turned out longer than I wanted & I can ramble on with more good things to say. As previous reviewers have mentioned, Lilian is AMAZING. My husband and I were fortunate to have her as our day-of coordinator and she did such an outstanding job. From our first conversation to our wedding day, Lilian checked in at multiple times throughout the process to ensure all of our bases were covered. Having her attend our final venue walk-through was super helpful as she asked questions I wouldn't have even thought of asking, and I like to think of myself as an over-preparer. The week of our wedding, we were so appreciative that she was following up with our vendors while keeping us in the loop. Fast forward to the big day, my husband and I were able to soak in every moment not worried about the little things because we knew Lilian and her team were executing everything to a tee. I brought so many specific decor items and props that could have easily frazzled someone, but not Lilian. She made sure everything was in its place and it turned out better than we could have envisioned. She kept everyone on schedule and did it with a smile on her face. If there were any hiccups during the day, you would have no idea by looking at her because of how calm she looked and how genuinely happy she is. We were so appreciative of how often she would check in with us during the day and ensure we had what we needed. You can tell she loves what she does. Now, whenever other couples ask us for wedding planning advice, we always say without hesitation that you should hire a day-of coordinator and highly, highly recommend Lilian because she is that good. TLDR: look no further for your wedding planning needs! Working with Lilian and her team was the best wedding planning decision I ever made. I stumbled upon Just Merried on Yelp (ironically enough), and hired them for a full-service type of planning. This was the most ideal choice for us since we were living out-of-state, not to mention, the groom and I were also long distance for the whole planning duration. Admittedly, it was difficult to find open times for all us to meet in person, but Lilian was always more than willing to accommodate to our schedules. We even Skyped/Facetimed throughout the planning process. Let me just say that I also know nothing about wedding design/planning/timelines/etc. So as part of the full-service planning, Lilian would send timely, organized, DETAILED emails with multiple vendors that I could review + select at once. She would then contact each one, and do all of the grunt work for me. She executed so much of the work that I literally did nothing but say which vendors I liked and which ones I didn't. If that doesn't speak to efficient work ethic, I don't know what will. As much as I was impressed with her quality of service and organization skills, all of my friends were equally dazzled. I would consider myself pretty organized and on top of things, which is why I didn't think I needed a day of coordinator when I first began the wedding planning process. I've had a lot of experience putting together sorority formals and felt confident enough to take on my own wedding. But trust me when I say no matter how much experience you have, hire Lilian and Alexis! They exceeded all my expectations from the day I hired them to our wedding day. Even though I only hired Just Merried Events for Day of Coordination, they were with me through the entire planning process. They kept me on track and suggested ideas I never would have thought of. I was blown away by how much Lilian and Alexis truly cared about us. Even though they are a vendor, they truly are wonderful people above all else. I danced all night and did not worry about a thing. When our wedding was over, our venue valet staff lost a guest's car keys. I was too tired to deal with it and most vendors would have just gone home, but Lilian helped us figure out what to do. And when we all realized there was nothing we could do that night, she drove the guest home. The next day, while my husband and I were recovering from an amazing night, Lilian called our venue to help look for the missing keys. We got married last year in October 2019, and Just Merried Events was there to help us through one of the busiest times in our lives. Since we both worked full-time in industries where working eight to five is bare minimum, Just Merried kept us organized and helped us focus on major milestones for our wedding. A little back story: we had originally planned to get married at the end of 2020, which would give us 1.5 years to plan our wedding, but after discussing with family, we changed the wedding date to end of 2019, which would only give us approx. 8 months to find a venue and plan our wedding. This change was actually very stressful but, in comes Lilian and her team in May 2019 (since we finally realized that we needed help), and all the burden was lifted off our shoulders. Best money spent on my wedding, no joke! I cannot thank Lilian and her team enough for all that they did, and I know I sound like all reviewers, but seriously... hire them. period. Lilian came recommended by a friend who knew her since childhood, so the background info I had on Lilian was that she always had good notes and did well in school, lol. But that's great groundwork for organization and being able to think on the fly, right? I'd say I was a pretty laid back bride. At the start, I really had no big theme or inspiration, I just wanted to get married and wanted everything to look nice! Throughout the whole process and with Lilians guidance, everything came together so well, I literally still think back at the whole day and am amazed at how all the pieces fit so well together (It's probably because she and her team had taken care of so much behind the scenes!!!). With Lilian's familiarity with all the vendors in the area and all things wedding, I basically followed her to-do lists advice on so many things. When I mildly considered having a hexagon arch for my ceremony, she suggested a florist who already had a hexagon arch in her inventory that could easily be used. When I wanted to have boba tea for after my ceremony, she and her team did all the research (and all the due diligence) of finding 5 places, compared prices and large order discounts (duh always gotta ask for the discounts) and let me decide. When I was setting up seating charts for the reception she kindly suggested we keep out the number 4 because it's bad luck. When I texted Lilian at 10pm the night before the wedding to add in a tea ceremony to the reception (at my family's request) she added it into the schedule and figured out the logistics (teacups etc) without even thinking about it for a second. And when the day of the wedding came, everything went so smoothly, if anything went wrong, I had no idea. Literally the only decision or command I had to give on the wedding day was the "ok" for the additional hour for a photographer. So basically, thank you to Lilian and her team for all that they did! Working with Lilian was by far the best decision we made in our wedding process! She was sooo organized and did such an amazing job communicating with us and making sure we were on top of our wedding planning. We had all our vendors selected prior to meeting with Lilian but then our florist fell through less than two months before the wedding. Lilian immediately helped us find the best florist that fit our budget and our vision. Our venue needed a lot of documents and coordination with all our vendors and Lilian took care of it all. We ordered our wedding cake from a vendor that couldn't deliver to our venue. My husband and I stressed for days to figure out who could pick it up for us and handle the transport. When we told Lilian about it, she answered immediately and said that she and her team would take care of it. She literally took away any stresses we had throughout the whole wedding planning process. We couldn't do a rehearsal at the venue because it was too far away, so Lilian suggested a convenient park location for our entire wedding party to rehearse at. It worked out perfectly. She told everyone exactly what they needed to do and where they needed to stand. She literally thought of everything that could possibly happen during the ceremony so that everyone was prepared and knew their role. After the rehearsal, she loaded up her own car with all of our photos, props and signs that we needed for the wedding! It was seriously so kind of her! We had a jam packed schedule for our wedding day and Lilian made sure everyone was on time and moving along with the timeline. She thought of all the small details and made sure we had everything for the big day. She constantly checked on us and made sure we were enjoying the big day and not stressing over anything. We found Lillian through a friend who is getting married soon too. And boy am I lucky I got such wonderful coordinator. We had a decent sized (over 200 guest) outdoor wedding reception at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana based on 4 traditions - Vietnamese, Catholic, Buddhist and American. That's a lot going on. We also wanted it to be memorable and fun for all of our guests (coming from all those backgrounds..) It was a planned 14 hour day! Because of lots of family things going simultaneously we didn't end up planning until 5-6 weeks before the wedding which was insane on our side. Actually we had 2 other wedding plans we had to cancel because of family issues (and two other coordinators/planners which came with venus we worked with)... Thank God we got Lillian. Lillian was spectacular every step of the way. She is organized, thoughtful, and really did more than just coordinate our wedding day... without her I don't think we would have had such a magical time. I recently worked with Lilian as a vendor at a wedding I photographed. During the months leading up to the wedding, Lilian kept the bride on point in terms of getting together pieces of information I requested. Any other questions I had about the event, if she didn't know the answer, she would immediately find out and respond quickly with the answer. We met 1 month prior to the wedding to go over the wedding day schedule and Lilian consulted with me in regards to making sure my photography needs were being met. So many times I work with event planners who take the liberty of making up an unreasonable schedule without my input. The final wedding schedule was given a week prior to the wedding, which I really appreciated. So many times, I'm receiving updated schedules just 1 day prior to the wedding! On the day of the wedding Lilian was calm, cool & collected, and that mood did not change throughout the entire well-planned wedding. There were schedule changes during the reception due to late guests, which didn't phase Lilian one bit. She kept me and my team in the loop the entire time. Lilian is the first planner I've worked with who actually stayed on top of me and my team being able to eat our meals. Usually I have to chase down the wedding planner numerous times throughout the event to sort out food for my team. As I was photographing the details, I also found out that many of the details she personally put together FOR the bride...like the seating cards. That was very impressive! Lilian & her team were a dream to work with and saved our day in so many ways. I cannot imagine what our day would have been without them. Originally my husband and I didn't think we would need a coordinator since our wedding was pretty small. As the day drew closer though, I realized I would need some help if I wanted to be able to breathe & enjoy even a single minute of the day. To be honest, I was slightly skeptical about reaching out originally because their rates seemed too affordable. Even 2 months after our wedding now, we still can't believe how much we got out of having them be a part of our experience. I can definitely say that they delivered at least double to triple the value of the package I actually chose. From the very beginning, Lilian was extremely easy to talk to & open to all of our crazy ideas. She guided us gently and never shut anything down. We really felt like she was someone we could be honest with. We were so comfortable chatting with her & she really listened to us. Both my husband and I were very involved in all the decision-making and Lilian effortlessly took into account all our perspectives & concerns. We could tell she was extremely experienced, had a lot of know-how, easily came up with creative solutions & could get down to business & deliver. & more so now, we can sincerely say that not only is Lilian is a phenomenal wedding planner, she's just truly a terrific person. I was reluctant to ask for vendor recommendations at first, but I can easily say that Lilian has the most amazing working relationships with the best people. The 3 vendors that I went with that were recommended by Lilian really took the time to understand what I was looking for in order to execute my ideas perfectly (unlike the previous vendors I had been struggling with). They were easy & stress-free to work with, extremely responsive, & open to endless numbers of e-mails about feedback & tweaks. Their patience with me was superhuman. In the days leading up to our wedding, Lilian did a phenomenal job getting in touch with all our vendors, keeping track of outstanding questions & paperwork & getting everyone on the same page. After our venue walk-through, I ended up having some frustrations with the venue management, as they were changing some conditions we had already signed on. Through it all, Lilian stepped in, kept a cool head & helped us maintain perspective. She worked with the venue to come up with alternative solutions for us and gave us her recommendation based off her experience. In the end we were perfectly happy with our venue & the service they provided. She's truly able to work with anyone in any situation and get the best outcome. Lastly, on the actual day-of, Lilian & her team truly shined. Our wedding was extremely specific and many aspects of it were DIY. We procured a lot of our decorations ourselves or asked Lilian to bring some & had specific ideas about how some of them should be arranged, but also had no real direction about other parts. I was expecting to have to put a lot of it together myself on the day-of & figure out any hiccups on the fly, since so many of these ideas were just in my head. I had done a quick "back of the napkin" sketch-up of some of my ideas for Lilian, but expected there to be some loss in translation there..but by the time I came out of getting my make-up done, everything was miraculously done. & even more so, they were just as beautiful as I had wished, if not more. When it came to any hiccups in executing what I had drawn out, Lilian & her team somehow always came up with a brilliant solution without any compromises. At one point a small emergency came up with a food delivery that never arrived, but Lilian & her team sorted it out so quickly that the guests never noticed. Throughout the remainder of the night, they just continued to take care of every little thing, from arranging table set-ups, props & amenities, to transitioning spaces, to shepherding guests & keeping us on schedule, to so much more! Every time we looked around to see about what needed to be done next, & even things I didn't know needed to be done were magically executed beyond expectation. In the end, what it really did was allow my husband & I to really enjoy the beautiful environment & evening & really have the time talk and laugh and have real & full conversations with our family, friends & each other We cannot recommend or praise Lilian & her team enough. They did everything they could to pull off the vision that we had & didn't miss a single beat or detail.
