Hiring Candice was the best money I spent for my wedding. I went with the 2% package which was the partial planning services in Feb 2020 for my Oct wedding. I came to Candice already having booked my venue, photo, hair/makeup, video and florals and she helped me fill in the rest. Candice was able to point me towards the perfect vendors to complete my wedding day (photobooth, rentals, tent, DJ, lighting) which saved me a ton of time researching on my own. During Covid, I postponed my wedding to Oct 2021 so we took a break in the planning. This May, we picked back up and started reimagining what the day would look like. The biggest change I made was turning my indoor, ballroom reception to an outdoor tent wedding to help guests feel more comfortable because of Covid. That was not an easy task because of my venue. I chose to get married at Santa Anita Park, which is a multi event space with horse races that whole weekend. It was a huge logistical nightmare because it limited our set up time and there were so many rules from the venue. I probably would've given up on the wedding had it not been for Candice tackling all the vendor set ups and communicating with the venue. In the months leading up to the wedding, we met up with Candice and Tessa (our lead planner and day-of-coordinator) once at the venue and twice at their office. There were so many small details in a wedding that they anticipated, and they prepared a schedule for us detailed down to the minute - it was a masterclass in planning and coordination. By the time the Big Day arrived, Tessa was in full gear. The night before our wedding, she herded all the cats, oh I mean our wedding party and family, for a smooth rehearsal. Booking Candice was the best decision we did during our wedding planning. She was very organized and was easy to communicate with. First time we met, she was already taking down notes about our visions and things that we want for our big day, she asked relevant questions and was already making suggestions/recommendations, even if we haven't booked with her yet. We signed up with her 8 months prior to the wedding, we got the partial package (2%). Candice helped us with deciding which vendors to get and keep things within budget. She sent us this excel file of things that would help us during the planning, from deadlines, budgeting and day of activities. She would constantly check on us and make sure everything was on track. She coordinated with all vendors and created the day of timeline with everyone's contact information in there. My husband and I are currently based in NY and we knew we wanted to get married in the LA area because that's where we met. And since we're both resident physicians, we knew that we would not have the time or patience to do any of the things that are involved in planning a wedding (like talking to people? Nicely? And you can't say "stat" to make things happen immediately?). Candice, her team, and her whole milk package were the answers to our demanding prayers. Candice is the perfect mix of understanding and no-nonsense, and encouraged us to run with our quirky ideas but at the same time knew when to tell us when those ideas were running amok and we needed to rein it back a little. (A near verbatim response she had one time was, "Those are all good, but they're all over the place in terms of theme, and you need to pick one.") She understood our resident physician budget constraints in addition to our (at times, restricting) need to be different and not do anything too "played out." From the start, for every big decision that needed to be made (venue, photographer, catering, florals, etc), she would listen to our vague rambling about what we thought we wanted and would suggest 3-6 options in each category for us to choose from. The way she broke every decision up into tolerable bite-sized chunks (which were about as much as our attention spans can handle these days) made everything so easy and made this gargantuan task seem handleable. She checked in every so often with emails to make sure that we were on task with everything we needed to do, with the emails increasing in frequency closer to whatever deadline date we were chasing. She had an answer to every question and made all our design dreams come true, all under budget. We had a double happiness/steam basket display of dim sum for a late night snack, and she had stickers of us printed out and placed on those white folded Chinese takeout boxes so the guests could take dim sum home as favors. She made and painted our acrylic welcome/seating chart/all other signs. The personal touches she put on every detail of our wedding were incredible, and more than we could have imagined. On the day of, she and her team and their set of headsets that allowed for seamless communication also allowed for seamless execution. Her timeline had every detail of the day planned out and accounted for down to the minute, and she and her day of team made sure we didn't stray from it. The cleanup and breakdown was facilitated by her and her staff and we felt so secure that everything was taken care of that we could take the time and enjoy with our family and friends. If this review doesn't say it enough, I suggested Candice to one of my bridesmaids who's getting married next year and they signed with her and her whole milk package as well. We worked with Milk Events for our wedding receptions in February. For a variety of personal reasons, we held two completely separate and distinct wedding receptions - one Chinese and one Western. To summarize the below, we loved working with Candice and Tessa, and would highly recommend them. We found Milk Events as they were a recommended vendor at the Caltech Athenaeum, and we worked with them from the very beginning. We purchased the Skim Milk package including design for both receptions, and worked with Candice early on to develop a separate "vibe" for each reception. We had two calls, and I primarily sent inspiration via text and Instagram - she "got" my aesthetic completely and provided an incredibly helpful PDF "look and feel" document, as well as a list of rental that we would need for both events. Three months before our events, my fiancé and I began working with Tessa to plan details for both receptions. Tessa was extraordinarily helpful in helping us organize ourselves (and our vendors and extended family), and helped us understand what we needed and when. Had she not been there, I would have not been able to answer a lot of the "details" questions that our venue coordinator had asked - (Like, what size table does our Photo Booth need? What size table does our dessert vendor need? etc). She also took notes for us and made a detailed list of things we need to bring on the day of our wedding. We booked Milk Events for our wedding coordination in 2019 for our originally anticipated wedding in June of 2020. From the very beginning, we were paired with Kristy, who was absolutely amazing--very responsive and helpful with any questions I had throughout the planning process. However, we had to postpone twice due to COVID so we were appointed a new coordinator, Lindsey, to handle the remainder of our month-of coordination. She was also superb--helping with vendor outreach on the month of and everything leading up to the day-of. On the day of the wedding, there were unexpected moments like the rain, but the team monitored the weather and helped us make decisions to ensure that everything worked out perfectly. Lindsey was awesome and stayed calm when we had to come up with backup plans. I was so thankful for my all-star team that executed my dream wedding so flawlessly! Wow, I don't even know where to begin. What an absolute delight it was to work with Candice and her team. I was initially unsure of whether or not I needed a planner but I am so, so happy that I decided to go with one. My husband and I chose the skim milk plan, which is month of/day of wedding coordination. I had a pretty hands on approach to my wedding so I did a lot of the research on vendors and details by myself but I needed someone to help me tie my vision together which is where Candice came in. She is so knowledgeable, professional, and EFFICIENT. She made everything so easy and was always two steps ahead of me. She's extremely responsive and always replied to my emails or texts in a timely manner. She was always available to give suggestions or tips when I needed some advice. Milk Events also had a large laundry list of rentals that are available for you to use to help make everything flow. Whenever there was something she needed from me, she would let me know and she made me feel so at ease in the days leading up to our celebration. There was so much uncertainty during that time and we were very nervous about having a celebration at all but Candice always kept us in the loop and was the one who gave us suggestions for COVID-friendly venues when we started thinking about having a wedding again in February 2021. She even sent us a care package when we initially cancelled (!!!) which was so sweet of her and made us feel so cared for. Candice also has A LOT of experience with wedding venues in SoCal. We had to change venues because our original one had not reopened yet but we ended up with a venue that we had toured before and loved because Candice told us about a special COVID friendly microwedding package they were offering. We had to downsize quite a bit (170 to 60 guests) but the silver lining was that it ended up being the wedding of our dreams - romantic, intimate, and cozy with our closest family and friends. Candice had so much to do with how smoothly the day went. If there were any hiccups, I did not know about them and I felt extremely taken care of and at ease the entire day (started at 6am and ended at 9pm). You could tell she had a lot of experience and is a very, very effective and efficient leader. She breaks down the day for you down to the minute and her timeline even takes into consideration unforeseen mishaps and delays, which I found out are inevitable. But it wasn't a big deal because she had planned for it. She's extremely organized and always ready for anything that goes wrong. She also made us feel at ease over the course of the almost 2 years we were in contact/rescheduling/planning. She never once made us feel like we were at fault for rescheduling or a burden for cancelling and changing our date. (I say this because I had a vendor do this to me). She was the epitome of grace and took everything in stride and rolled with all the punches. COVID was rough on a lot of people, especially the wedding industry, but Candice made the best of a terrible situation and ultimately made our dreams come true. My husband and I are so happy and grateful we decided to move forward with Milk Events. We spoke with 5 different planners and clicked with Candice right away. Candice and her team were singlehandedly responsible for the success of our wedding. We were a couple that ended up getting bumped from 2020 due to the pandemic and she worked with us for nearly 2 years on our wedding. We did the whole milk plan because we had a lot of things to jam into one day and we knew we needed all the help we could get and frankly, Candice went above and beyond. We heard about Milk Events through a friend that had planned her wedding previously and had raved about how amazing Candice was. We actually spoke to around 10 wedding planners and no one came close to how we felt when chatting with Candice. My husband I were not planning a typical event as we had both a Hindu and Western ceremony, so we needed someone that could tackle a massive event as well as weave together multiple cultures. Candice was made for that challenge. Our wedding was in May 2021 and even recently in January 2022, we still have family members gushing about what a great wedding we had.
