When I first started looking for a coordinator, I really thought I only needed someone for the day of the wedding. I remembered meeting a coordinator at a wedding showcase the year before, reached back out, and it turned out to be Alexis. Looking back, that was genuinely one of the best decisions I made throughout the entire wedding planning process. Alexis came on board about three months before our wedding, and I honestly don't know how we would have done it without her. Our wedding was a completely DIY "backyard wedding" that my husband, our families, and I essentially built from the ground up. We found all of our vendors ourselves through wedding showcases, coordinated countless moving pieces, and put so much of the wedding together personally. As we got closer to the day, there were a million things happening at once. Alexis immediately took such a huge weight off our shoulders. She contacted all of our vendors, coordinated arrival times, communicated my expectations, confirmed details, and made sure everyone was on the same page. She even caught miscommunications between me and some of my vendors before the wedding, which was invaluable. Having someone I completely trusted take over those conversations allowed my husband and me to focus on everything else we still needed to do. And then came the wedding day. I have heard so many brides look back on their weddings and talk about the things that went wrong or the little moments they wish had gone differently. I can genuinely say that I cannot think of ONE thing from our wedding day that did not go according to plan. And if something did go wrong, I never knew about it--which, to me, is the biggest testament to how incredible Alexis and her team are at what they do. I got to simply enjoy my wedding. I wasn't worrying about vendors arriving, timelines, setup, transitions, or what was happening behind the scenes. Everything just happened the way it was supposed to. When I look back on that day, I don't have memories of being stressed or having to solve problems. I just remember how happy I was, and I will forever be grateful to Alexis for giving me that. She was so good that even our guests noticed. After the wedding, multiple people specifically mentioned how amazing our coordinator was. One couple who attended had gotten married just a few months before us and unfortunately had the opposite experience with their own coordinator. Because of what they had gone through, they immediately recognized how attentive, organized, and on top of everything Alexis was throughout our wedding. If I could go back and change one thing about our wedding planning process, it would honestly be hiring Alexis sooner. I initially thought I just needed a day-of coordinator, but now I realize how valuable it would have been to have her involved even earlier. Alexis, thank you for taking something my family and I spent so much time, love, and energy creating and making sure it all came together exactly the way we envisioned it. You gave my husband and me the ability to actually be present and enjoy the wedding we worked so hard to create, and that is something I will always be grateful for. Through a mutual colleague, we connected on a Friday regarding a wedding she needed a DJ for that same Sunday. Yes, three days later. We spoke on the phone, and she wasn't in a panic. She simply did her due diligence, getting to know me, my experience, and my qualifications. At the same time, I got to know her. I have worked with over 50 different party planners throughout my career, and let me tell you, Liz is one of the best party planners I've ever worked with. She was given the task of putting together a wedding in eight days. Yes, I said eight days--and she nailed it. The client (the groom) was not very forthcoming with ideas of what he wanted, so Liz had to creatively guide him down the path of getting the best results. They were on top of all of our vendors and explaining the wedding decor set up was easy and pain free so that by the time we were walking down the aisle, we were able to focus on each other and the fun and memorable parts of the wedding day. Additionally, Liz and team were cordial and accommodating to all of the other vendors and made sure to keep us aware of only information we needed to know. Our catering company was late and Liz was on top of it immediately, problem solving with our bartending vendor to make sure service was on point. Also, our chair and furniture rental vendor was late for pickup, and WINK! made sure to stay on top of them so that we didn't end up getting charged for overtime at the venue (which had a strict load out policy). The rentals vendor nearly cost us extra, but with Liz's excellent communication and patience, Wink was able to get the rentals ina and out on time, while also appeasing the venue in a diplomatic manner. Overall, the process and day-of with Liz was fun and filled with joy! WINK! is a dream to work with and we quite literally could not have accomplished all that we did without them.
