I had the pleasure of working directly with Nira and Karly, while planning my fairytale wedding in Santorini, Greece. They planned the most beautiful destination wedding for us and I never doubted them for a second through the entire process. They handled absolutely everything for me, from helping me find my perfect wedding dress to surprising us with a kick ass Firework show on our very last day in Greece. They made it possible to truly enjoy the entire wedding planning process, so that I would not have to stress at all. Not only were they the easiest people to work with, but they absolutely NAILED everything I threw at them and SO much more! Looking back at how special our wedding was to us and how it all came together fabulously, i have to give a huge shout out to Amber G of Amber Events. Planing your wedding can be a daunting task, stressful, chaotic, filled with drama, and sometimes disappointing and this is where Amber stepped in and saved us. As a wedding photographer, I work very closely with the planner. They are the backbone of every wedding! Debby was so skilled, and the style she delivered on the wedding day blew me away! I felt like I was photographing a Rembrandt painting. Such a treat for me! This kind of amazing details and styling can fully transform my experience shooting a wedding, and goes such a long way for me to deliver the best product possible to the client. Where should I begin??!! A+++ rating, if it wasn't for Amber events, my birthday party would've been mediocre and boring. However, the whole team brought that spark and glam I was envisioning. I am finally over my PTSD so I can write this. Again tonight I thought about what happened and it feels irresponsible not speak to it/share it on yelp. I went to Amber because it was #1 on Yelp. I had 6 months to plan our wedding, had done much of the ground work, gotten my dress, knew we would have it at home, etc. Because we had a ton going on I was fine to let most of the decisions go. We just needed to stay on budget (45k for a 48 person wedding). I had 2 requests: wooden tables for the dinner and a rustic U shared arch. I provided pics of the latter.For linens, glasses, silverware, dish ware, etc... I didn't care. Nira said she was sure we could achieve what was discussed within budget as she knew a lot of vendors, etc. When the budget came Nira said we had what we asked for and sent this long itemized list. Budget was slightly over which was ok but when I looked at the fine print I saw that the tables were plastic. I also noticed there was no arch at all. I ended up getting arch options none of which were close to the pic I had given but regardless, there was no allotted budget for one. The main issue was that the items I professed to care about were not on the list but most important, we didn't realize they weren't on there until we studied it. Flash forward to a month before the wedding. I was confused by an excel doc that I thought had a different (lower) number on it previously that no longer did. I emailed Nira and she responded defensively that her staff does not lie or something to that effect. Those were not her exact words, it has been too long. The bottom line was that she made it clear she was angry that I was questioning. But what was I supposed to do? I was trying to figure out how our budget had gone higher (10k higher at this point). I had to ask her. I should say, prior to this Nira was all smiles, impossibly happy and positive. I had NO idea what was coming. I wouldn't have believed it had anyone tried to tell me. Around that time, I believe the same week, I literally couldn't walk straight. Now about 10yrs prior I had had a stoke so I wasn't sure if I could be having one again. On my way to get an MRI I mistakingly called her to find out what the policy would be if we had to postpone. We had people coming in from around the world - I was not planning on canceling unless I couldn't walk down the aisle. I was very clear about that when I conveyed my question but the damage I think was done.. By the time we got home we had a terrible email. She said something about requiring the remainder of the balance for the whole wedding in full within 24 hours or she would no longer be our wedding planner but she would be happy to refer us to someone else to finish out the last month. I believe at that time there was about 10k we were not sure about spending and she said there was no other option but to do it this way, with the choices she had made that made up that 10k. It was written more professional that this but that is what it came down to. My husband and I agreed we would just say yes to whatever as we could not deal with having to switch over to a new person with 30 days to go. I think she may have even required a cashiers check. I remember saying I would get the money to her by some method and her saying no, it needed to be a different way. She was treating us like we were like she expected us not to pay our bills. Keep in mind we were paid up 100% on everything including all deposits for vendors. We did it but that day was by far the worst day of my planning process. I got so stressed I accidentally sliced my finger w a bread knife and ended up wearing a bandage for the wedding. The idea of the person who knows ALL the details dropping us was too much. And I couldn't believe that where we were hoping to find some lower cost options for some things (Nira knew this) she was now saying we had to go with her suggestions at the prices she named or she was letting us go. It felt SO wrong that we lost the ability to choose how much we spent (or lose our planner). It's not like we were trying to cut our budget- we we trying not to go too too much over. My best guess is when I told Nira about my MRI she decided to take drastic moves to make sure they got paid. I was really vulnerable that day not knowing if I would be okay and her response felt heartless. I don't remember how we got the $ to her the next day but I remember panicking bc I was not supposed to drive. She made it as difficult as possible and remember, this was a new "within 24 hrs" notice. Despite this being a new request (and up until she made it we owed nothing) we had 24hrs or she walked. It was a threat. I give the review 2 stars instead of 1 because the wedding itself was fine. It looked nice and ran smoothly. If I were to do it again though I wouldn't use them as my memory of that time is so upsetting. I feel like a fool that I engaged in business w someone who would treat me this way. read more

Disclosure: We did not hire Amber Events- our beloved friends did for a wedding in Pasadena. This review is based on the guest experience of Jackie Hsu and the coordinators at the event. One experience I had to escalate to the groom and then she replied "We got it", as I tried to resolve the table seating arrangements directly with a clearly frustrated girl. At another point, I had to be direct and asked her if there still problem as she was venting to another staff. Another experience was my husband (who is not a vendor, but a guest of the bride and groom) He was asked to make announcements. Jackie hand wrote names, crossed out stuff scribbled on a paper, did not clearly communicate directions or got confirmation from the groom (obviously) of his intent to make a speech. She had the audacity to insult my husband that he was awkward. You bet, he let her have it. No one should ever speak to anyone in such a condescending manner, I dont care who you are. So it might be all smiles in front of the bride and groom- but Jackie, besides this review- I will provide feedback to them at an appropriate time, as I was not going to burden them of you lack of prepareness (ie ceremony announcements, moving guest from cocktail hour, announcement of transition of cash bar, etc). read more

It's been over half a year since our wedding, and despite having made it very clear we were very unhappy with our experience with this company (which they never made any amends for) AND made multiple requests for them to stop contacting us with promotional email spam, they CONTINUE to disregard our requests. I got another email this weekend and so did my husband. What's ironic is that when they refused to make amends they threatened us not to contact them again, and now they won't stop contacting us...It feels like they are adding insult to injury. read more

When my husband and I got engaged a little over a year ago, we figured wedding planning couldn't be that hard. We both have fancy degrees, we weren't intimidated by the project management aspect, and we can both research the hell out of anything. We were also willing to invest some time and planned to fly back and forth between our home in Seattle, and our wedding destination of LA. We wanted to make our wedding special, but also felt that the amount of money we heard people spent on weddings was ludicrous. We wanted to do things differently, all while working full time jobs and traveling extensively on business. We started by doing a ton of online research on wedding venues. We spent hours on TheKnot, Google, wedding blogs, Pinterest, Yelp, interviewing friends who'd married in LA. We even paid for a service to help with scheduling appointments and maximizing the number of places we could visit during a couple of short weekends in LA. We had it all under control, or so we thought. However, the more we learned about the wedding industry, the more confused and overwhelmed we became. We fast realized we were in over our heads. A recent New York Times article captures it fairly accurately: the wedding industry is "economically baffling," is not at all transparent, and takes advantage of the fact that most brides are "first time" shoppers. What was supposed to be a fun and bonding experience for us became, frankly, depressing and highly stressful to all concerned. A couple of months into our research, when it was clear we weren't getting anywhere, we looked into wedding planning services. This created another ordeal. My fiancé was very skeptical of the value wedding planners would offer beyond what we could do ourselves. We interviewed several prospective planners who further overwhelmed us with complex pricing packages: bronze, silver, platinum, "once in a lifetime" packages. We were almost done with the idea of wedding planners until we met Amber and Nira. We could tell just from meeting them that working with Amber & Nira would be different. They were straight-forward, friendly & fun. They were real with us from the get-go, transparent with their fees, and professional. They told my fiancé that he was being completely unrealistic with budget. They didn't tell us what we wanted to hear; they told us what we needed to hear. We honestly wish we had found them earlier and saved the time we needlessly invested online in the first place. It was so comforting to know our wedding was in their capable hands. They've worked with countless vendors, and receive preferential rates because of the business they bring in. More importantly, they also know which vendors can be trusted, and who is less reliable. They became part of our entire wedding planning experience, from A to Z, and came to deeply know our preferences. They worked as our trusted advisors and did the legwork - and gave us the information we needed to choose the vendors we worked with. Amber & Nira provided recommendations and research; we made the call. In the end, we estimate we saved money by partnering with Amber Events: our time, the cost of extra visits to LA, the negotiated rates with vendors, the costs of an unreliable vendor. Amber & Nira also advised us on a few things we could skip (e.g., the champagne toast is a waste of money when you're already paying for an open bar!). Much more than the financial aspect of their help, we most appreciated the peace of mind they gave us. Working with them let us actually enjoy the process. And we had an amazing wedding weekend! Their attention to detail on our wedding day was especially great--they had a whole team of people handling every detail so we didn't have to worry about a thing. We got to enjoy the time with our loved ones and danced the night away! I like to think we have good taste and could pull off an event like Amber Events--but we probably would have had to move from Seattle to LA, and quit our jobs to plan the wedding. At the end of the day, there is really no way our wedding would have been half as beautiful and flawless without them. We had our dream wedding, and we have Amber Events to thank. If we could do it all over again, we'd hire them sooner. read more

Can I put 10 stars? Honestly, Amber was such a blessing in our lives. When we got engaged, we decided to have our wedding 6 months later. Across the country. We easily found our venue, Union Station, and booked it. Then I realized that being across the country, having 6 months, and having a venue where we needed to bring in EVERYTHING, I would need some help. A good friend recommended I speak with Amber. I spoke with a couple other planners/coordinators as well. When we mentioned the size of our wedding and our budget, one planner said, literally, "Good luck, we could never do a wedding for that." Well, that made me feel HORRIBLE, especially since we didn't actually have a small budget, but those planners wouldn't even bother speaking with us about it. When I spoke with Amber, she was thoughtful, practical and excited. She understood that 6 months was plenty of time. She understood that we had many personal elements we wanted to incorporate such as runners from a town in Central America where we have family, and that we would be guiding the design process. Amber, with major support from the fabulous Nira, made our lives easier and planning possible. She would give us 3-5 vendor suggestions. We would look at their sites, speak with them, and choose our favorite. This was fantastic because she knew us and what we wanted, and only ever gave us excellent vendor suggestions. Every one of them was cool, easy going, and so talented, which was doubly important because we had to meet most of them on the phone. I didn't have to go into the blackhole of the internet to google "DJ, LA", because I had a personalized recommendation engine in Amber. From our DJ, Tony from RedShoe, to our photographers, Studio Castillero, everyone was just A team. They perfectly fit our personalities and they were just incredibly talented. Amber understands people and the emotions that run high at weddings so well. She worked closely with my mom, who was actually in LA, on some big decisions because I couldn't be there. She answered my emails immediately. She helped me work through ideas, and understand what needed to get done and when. She kept us on task. She reminded me when vendors needed to get paid and she took over the responsiblity for managing a lot of those vendor relationships, WHICH WAS AWESOME. Like, i don't know what insurance we need, or where vendors should park and when they need to deliver things. And I don't need to know, because Amber took care of it seamlessly, just asking me at critical points. PLus, she's the one who encouraged us to buy neon necklaces and sunglasses for the dancefloor....which was truly genius. Amber thought of every possible detail: where we would eat a snack right after the ceremony and be alone; a pin for when the pearl on my bustle came off...you name it. We were very involved in our wedding planning and design, but Amber made it happen. The rehearsal and the day of our wedding were completely perfect, as far as we are concerned. Amber and her team made the event run smoothly. We completely gave up all control that day. They told us where to go and when, and they did it with humor and grace. All we had to do was absorb all the love and be fully present with our family and friends. They gave us and our families and friends such a blessing by making that possible. read more

I completely agree with Rebecca L's review of Amber Events; if I could give more than 5 stars I would. We got married two weeks ago and, shortly after getting engaged last year had hired a different wedding planner to help us with our big day. Big mistake. After a month of working with this other planner we became very concerned with her lack of attention, seeming lack of experience, and general lack of enthusiasm. We quickly realized that spending this sort of money on a planner who doesn't return emails and phone calls in a timely fashion was money badly spent, so we decided to cut our losses and find someone new. After a recommendation from a friend we decided to meet with Amber to gauge whether we might prefer working with her, and from minute one we were sold. It wasn't just the glass of champagne and chocolates that hooked us in when we first met with Amber (although that was a nice touch), rather she was charming, seemed to really want our business, and brought up issues both creative and administrative that this other planner hadn't even touched on in a month+ of working with us. We decided to leave the other planner immediately and use Amber instead. This was without a doubt the best decision we made in planning our wedding. Throughout the entire process it felt like Amber had our back. She was really helpful in terms of guiding us creatively, she brought in almost all of our vendors who, to a person, were amazing, and even had an awesome little pack that walked us through things like applying for our marriage license, getting copies of the certificate afterwards, etc. And this is all outside of the actual welcome dinner the night before the wedding and the big day itself, both of which Amber helped run to clock work while keeping me and my wife calm, relaxed, and loving every minute. I'm sure If I tried, I could be less long-winded with this review but seriously five stars and these few paragraphs don't do Amber justice. She made our wedding a spectacular success and, having worked with another wedding planner previously, the difference in efficiency, style and professionalism was stark. 2 weeks ago, we had the wedding of our dreams at Vibiana in DTLA. Without Nira and the Amber Events team, this wouldn't have been possible! From the moment we met Nira (a year out from our wedding) we knew she was the absolute best choice. So personable, professional and extremely organized. We planned the entire wedding from Australia, where we now live, and Nira couldn't have been more accommodating! She kept us on track from the very start and actually made the wedding planning process very fun for us- we really didn't stress at all. She has wonderful relationships with vendors all over Los Angeles and really worked with us to figure out which ones suited our needs and budget. All over Skype! She was the liaison between us and all the vendors, keeping track of all the contracts and budgets. There are so many things to think about when you're planning a wedding- so many little details- and she really made us feel that no request was too much to ask. Nira really goes above and beyond and her hard work really paid off with all the compliments we received on our wedding! She was really able to bring our vision to life, and beyond- the final design was better than anything we could have dreamed of. From her recommendations on linens, to florists, to vintage furniture and all those little touches that make a big impact, everything was perfect. On the wedding day, the timeline she had created to coordinate the day went off without a hitch. Nira and her assistants were at the venue all day, helping the bridal party along with anything we needed while ensuring everything was running smoothly down at the ceremony hall. Her team was very professional- a special shout-out to Trinity for helping the bridal party with their dresses! Like I said earlier, Nira made the wedding planning process FUN! We are actually sad that we are no longer planning our wedding because she made it such an enjoyable experience. She is a true talent in every sense of the word! We found Amber by checking out wedding blogs and seeing her name attached to the prettiest, most interesting, most romantic weddings. Then we read reviews and testimonials about her, which all talk about how wonderful she is. In person we found her to be not only professional, but also warm, smart and calm. She gave us advice we never would have thought of, saved us money every step of the way (in part by referring some of the vendors on this list), and kept her cool through whatever we threw at her. If we had one piece of advice for future brides and grooms it would be to factor Amber into the cost of the wedding before budgeting for anything else. It was truly the best money we spent. She is the difference between having a stressful wedding and having an enjoyable wedding. It doesn't matter if you're organized, (Ben and I are both the most organized people we know), it doesn't matter if you want a low key wedding (she can handle both extremes of the spectrum and everything in between), it doesn't matter if you weren't planning on hiring a wedding coordinator (we weren't), she is the number one service you will not regret spending money on. No amount of online research compares to her experience, and the details she thought of either helped us avert disaster or added something to the wedding that made it so special and so us. We are still in awe of her multitasking and organizational abilities. More than anything, though, she was our safety net. If I can give additional stars for Amber Events on this review, there simply wouldn't be any stars left on this yelp site. My wife and I recently got married in July 2016. When we started planning the wedding, she found Amber Events online and she brought them to my attention. Next day she had that initial talk with Nira on the phone. My wife, who has been EXTREMELY STRESSED about planning the wedding, panicking and nerve wracking ever since we set the date, ended the call with Nira and she suddenly looked like she just came out of a day spa. "Are you okay?" I said. She replied "....We found our wedding planner babe....I'm going to sleep now." I don't know what Nira said to my wife but whatever magic she pulled, I just can't thank her enough until today and I'm forever grateful to Nira for making our planning process and of course the wedding day the most memorable, funnest and exciting experience ever. It's really hard to put in words how awesome Nira is as a person, or as a planner, or how she interacts with vendors, or just how much knowledge she has for this. All I can say is that Nira became our family, she will be invited to our future events and she's someone who we always want to be in touch with. You might be hiring Amber Events and Nira simply as your planner on a paper... but what you're really getting is someone who will show you the best side of you and your partner's future. Catering can be one heck of a grind balancing food, beverages, guests and all sorts of really heavy objects. I have so many wonderful things to say about Amber Events. We worked with Nira for the last year for our wedding. The price for what you get is incredibly fair and reasonable. I could not have done this without her. You get unlimited phone, email and in person access to your planner. She helped find all our vendors, coordinate the meetings and contracts, and then coordinated an amazing day. It is so nice to not have to worry about coordinating all the vendor details. Amber made our wedding day completely flawless and amazing. She is the most organized and professional wedding planner with a fun personality. She is serious and authoritative when she needs to be but she also knows how to lighten the mood and help take care of issues whenever they came up. Throughout the wedding planning process she offered us thoughtful advice. Her years of experience helped us so much as we planned our wedding from 3,000 miles away. Having Amber as our wedding coordinator made the entire wedding planning experience better and allowed us to enjoy every moment of our wedding that much more. I was definitely one of those brides who never thought I'd get a coordinator. I had a really bad experience with one at a cousin's wedding (I was a hostess and not allowed to eat until waaaaaay late into the reception). I envisioned someone similarly crazy, old, and uber controlling, and oh, how Amber changed that! My husband and I had already booked a good number of our vendors. My now mother-in-law was pushing for us to get a coordinator, but I didn't really think it was necessary. I finally caved when I thought I was losing my mind trying to pick a photographer and florist. Amber Events to the rescue! She has a lot of great recommendations for vendors if you find yourself indecisive or unsure about vendor reliability. I had more of a color vision for our wedding versus any other theme, and Amber's team definitely stuck with that and helped made it happen. I also said we just wanted the day to be fun, not super formal, and Amber got that. Instead of being focused on things fitting into every time slot we discussed, she did a great job of assessing the crowd during the reception and determining when to throw in the cake cutting, etc. That being said, her impeccable timeline is what made the photo session, ceremony, and cocktail hour so fabulous. All throughout our wedding reception, all I heard from guests was "this wedding is perfect" "this is absolutely the best wedding I've ever attended!" My mom kept saying, "this was perfect! Everything went on without a hitch!" I had to agree. Our wedding was truly perfect. And I have Amber to thank for so much of it. She was nice, honest (but not mean), incredibly organized, and really makes the wedding about you and your spouse-to-be. She was available during what I thought was the most crazy and ridiculous battle over the guest list. I wish I could come up with a more creative word than perfect, but honestly, everything about the wedding day was. She made sure we had water between photos and the ceremony. She had a platter of appetizers and champagne waiting for us during our yichud after the ceremony. She made sure we ate during the reception, and more importantly, made sure I got a slice of the desserts I was so excited about! Amber- thank you so much for helping make our day everything we'd hoped it would be. I'll never forget it. And to people reading this- book Amber! Do it! Promise, you won't regret it. read more

I look back on my wedding day with complete confidence in saying the best decision (other than marrying my husband) was hiring Debby to help me plan and coordinate my day. Debby handled everything before the wedding day in a way that left me as low stress as possible. She understood how I operated as a person and how I didn't want to run off wedding stress for months and enjoy the process of wedding planning rather than the little details. She totally worked with that and did her thing to make it all happen which I appreciated more than words can describe. Details can be overwhelming to piece together but once I let her creativity run and and went with it I fell in LOVE with everything she suggested. The day of my wedding Debby was an angel that made everything flow SO well. Nothing but love for her. She is worth. every. penny and an absolute gem. LOVE Amber events! The team was so professional, sweet, and had a keen sense of attention to detail. I recently worked with the team on an event in which they needed dancers. We incorporated belly dancers and a Zeffa band for one of their big Multi cultural events. There were lots of moving pieces but everything presented itself flawlessly. The team of planners were very on it with all correspondence prior to the date, and on the day of the wedding, made me feel so at home. I felt like a guest! That never happens! Words cannot express how amazing my wedding planning and day was, and it all comes down to the help of Amber from Amber Events. What an exquisite woman who is just seamless at her job. There was nothing left unattended to and people have said to me that I was the camlest bride they have ever seen. My response, it was because Amber was the most attentive planner ever! We hired Amber about 6 months before our big day, and from that day I knew that my wedding would be in amazing hands. My mom and I were planning the majority of the wedding and knew that we needed someone to make sure everything went smoothly. Thats where Amber came in. Also I should mention that my husband was absolutely in love with Amber and still is. He still talks about her and her team to this day about how amazing they were! Like I said before, she is the most organized person that I have ever met. I thought I was organized, she puts me to shame! Each client has their own binder filled with contracts, contacts and personal notes, who else does that!? We had many meetings with Amber, and each one she was punctual and might I say early! I felt seriously at ease with her presence and knew that my mom would be able to relax with her in charge. The day before the wedding we had our rehearsal, and let me tell you how prompt and fabulous she was. Amber was early as usual and not only putting our families at ease, but to help us out she even had POCKET SIZED printouts for the next days scheduled events. It is touches like that which make Amber just so detailed to her job and just simply amazing. The day of the wedding was absolutely seamless. Amber was there along with her amazing assistant Krista who was there for everything my mom, sister and I needed. I felt like a true princess but in the company of friends. I am not a needy person but if we needed something they were there for it! The actual ceremony went off without a hitch and of course the party was just spectacular. I even had a few reminders from her to eat or drink- MUCH APPRECIATED! When we retreated to our room that evening at the hotel, Amber had decorated our room with the most gorgeous flowers from the party and made my husband and I feel so special. It is thoughts and touches like this that make Amber just so special. Looking back at this experience, we would not have changed a thing because Amber of Amber Events is just fabulous and one of the most amazing people that I know. Now, I'm not a gushy girl. Truth be told, I wanted to elope. But, my romantic fiancé-at-the-time pleaded his case for having a wedding... that it would be amazing to have our families and friends all together for one night... yadda yadda yadda... so, I (reluctantly) conceded. Fast forward to our wedding day... and I must admit that it was, hands-down, the very best day of my life. I never dreamed I would ever think that. But, it's true. I mean it with everything I am. And, Amber, the goddess of organization and taking-care-of-business that she is, helped to make it exactly that - the very best day of my life. She had timelines... lists... schedules... contacts... vendor recommendations... follow ups, and more importantly, follow-throughs. Throughout the entire planning process, she guided us, kept us on track, and was a resource when we had any questions. The execution of the wedding day, itself, seemed absolutely flawless. Everything looked/smelled/tasted/seemed perfect! And, considering myself relatively smart, I realize that there is no way that everything fell into place magically and nothing needed to be fixed/tweaked/saved/aborted - but, Amber made sure that whatever needed to be handled, got taken care of without me knowing or being bothered. Nira De Luna was my wedding planner, and she was the absolute BEST. After I got engaged, I thought I could plan my wedding myself...how hard could it be? But the thing is: it is hard! And overwhelming! I tell everyone who gets engaged that the best thing I ever did was hire Nira. JUST DO IT GUYS! So worth it!!! First of all, she has this awesome calming quality that I found so helpful throughout the process. She knew all the best vendors, and recommended a fantastic florist, DJ, photographer, etc. Our wedding was a huge success and absolutely beautiful! And I feel like I barely did any work! On our wedding day, I had nothing to worry about. Nira and her staff took care of everything; I knew I was in excellent hands and trusted her completely, and everything went off smoothly. She also helped with our rehearsal dinner, which was a bit unusual: a carnival! So for her, it was almost like planning a whole other big event, since we invited everyone who we invited to the wedding to the carnival as well. Just like with my wedding, I had zero stress as Nira and her competent, kind, sweet, and fun staff took care of everything. I don't know what else to say other than: 1) it was a joy and pleasure to work with Nira, 2) she is fantastic at her job, and 3) DO IT; hire her! It is so worth it to not have stress and know/ trust everything will be taken care of...you have enough going on on your wedding day without worrying about the cake delivery, etc. I feel like I am totally gushing, but she deserves it! My husband and I were overjoyed with our choice to book Amber Events for our May wedding! Amber came to our rescue during the planning process; 6 months out from our wedding date, we found ourselves without a venue! We had to move our wedding date up from August to May so that we could keep our location. We were not only having trouble with our vendors, but were now stressed out about getting everything finished on time. We knew that we needed help. When we met with Amber she made us feel more relaxed right away. She understood our concerns and genuinely cared about our situation. We really clicked with her, and knew that she would do a great job helping us have the wedding we wanted. One of the best pre-wedding things we got from Amber was advice and reassurance. When we were stressed about something, we could just call or email her, and she got back to us very quickly with a solution or a plan. She was professional, but I also felt like she really understood what I was going through and would be here to talk me through it. She also had very helpful paperwork, from information about where and how to get our license, to getting to know you type of questions. We really felt like she was taking the time to find out who we were so that she could give us the best recommendations and advise. On our wedding day, Amber and her assistant Krista seamlessly ran the show from behind the scenes. They set up the reception perfectly! It looked better than I'd even pictured! They brought us drinks while we waited for the guests to arrive and made sure that we got something to eat after the ceremony. They jumped in when our parking attendants didn't show up, helping to direct cars and get the shuttled to turn around in a tiny little driveway (best of all, they didn't say one word about this to us. I didn't even know that the parking attendants didn't show up until after we got back from our honeymoon!). And the reception went so smoothly. From getting food at the buffet line, to the toasts, FD and MS dances, and cake cutting! It was all easy and fun. Amber kept us on track with our time line, but I never once felt rushed. I have heard from so many people, especially my wedding party, what a relaxed and go with the flow bride I was. And I know for a fact that this was mostly due to the fact that I completely trusted Amber! We had gone back and forth about hiring a coordinator, and weather it was worth spending money on. And I am SO glad that we did. It was the best use of our money! My husband and I had an amazing time at our wedding. Debby at Amber Events is a total rockstar. We did the Event Management package, and while she doesn't take over until two months before the wedding (per the package), she helped guide us and keep us on track with deadlines. The software she makes available to you is SUPER helpful in planning your first (and hopefully last) wedding -- budgeting, guest management, seating chart (this was epic), task lists, and vendor payments and contact info. Once Debby took over fully, it was a seamless transition (because of said software), and she was able to totally take over coordination with all of our vendors. And most importantly, she made our wedding day run smoothly, was patient and totally cool under pressure, and was super organized to make sure all of our personal belongings got back to us at the end of the night. I'm sure there's so much more she did that we weren't even privy to because her main focus was making sure we just had a blast at our wedding and didn't worry about a thing! I don't have positive things to say in regards to my wedding only remorse and disappointment for letting incompetence run precedence over everything that I worked so hard for. Let me say I planned a beautiful wedding and it was exquisite because of my own thought process, design and efforts for a year. Many fumbles that a highly qualified planner would have never have let happen were prevalent because of just not understanding the craft of getting the money shots for a higher end wedding. I had 4 girls there and all of my glassware for the photography were upside down. Now surely they would argue the the caterer set it that way, but it is YOUR responsibility to make sure the table is set correctly. Not only that I ordered particular tiny spoons for my salt and pepper cellars and only 1 or non made it out to the tables on certain guest place settings. I spent top dollar for high end table settings and I expected it to be set the way that I relayed it to you. Nothing can be done and tens of thousands of dollars were not shot properly due to sheer lack of care and thought. Debby is a sweet girl, but ultimately once things are not all rainbows and sunshine she is someone who can't take the heat and needs to leave the kitchen. Personality isn't everything, but precision and expertise is what you will ultimately be critiqued for. I could see if one tiny thing didn't go off perfectly, but this was literally everything all the money was pumped and dumped into. It was this reception and for one soul out of everyone involved not to be able to get something like that together I have nothing kind to say. I have spoken to the photographer and she asked for them to flip the cups because she couldn't understand it herself why that wasn't ready for her to capture the shots, all she could do was flip a detail shot herself. She waited 10 minutes for the candles to be lit. I sincerely have no idea what they could have been doing at this very crucial and important time when everyone was minding their own business and enjoying cocktail hour. There was literally nothing else that needed to be handled at that point in time aside from getting the photographs of the thing you invested everything into. Please I do not need excuses as to why this wasn't set properly. There are no excuses for it. Literally none. I worked with Debby of her own individual bases ,however she has been having herself credited as AMBER EVENTS and AMBER EVENTS had no problem posting my wedding on instagram and praising her talents. Which by the way she coordinated so honestly to use the word talent doesn't make sense. Her job was to ensure that everything that I ordered and designed was executed. I mean I didn't design any of the stuff myself I picked it out. There needs to be more humility across this entire wedding world in my opinion and people need to worry about getting fine tuning done first before giving themselves a pat on the back. read more

Phenomenal party planners. Our daughter's Bat Mitzvah was amazing. Nira was incredibly organized, efficient, easy to work with, creative and sweet. She was extremely responsive and never failed to answer an email, phone call or text within minutes. Just do it. If this is all you read, take that leap of faith and let Nira plan and manage one of the most important days of your life. You won't regret it. Many of us only get married once. Some of us haven't been planning our wedding since we were 5. So trusting someone you just met to plan your big day when you've never done it before, don't know what to expect, and don't necessarily have a vision can be really hard. But Yelp reviews are gospel, right? So if you're on the fence, hopefully this will sway you to choose Amber Events: Flexibility - Whether you're looking for someone to plan your wedding 100%, or just do day of execution, or somewhere in between, Nira can help. We were somewhere in between - there were aspects we wanted to get involved in (i.e. vendor selection, decision making), and others we wanted no part of (i.e. vendor communication/management, decor details, etc). Whatever you're looking for, Nira's flexible in accommodating your needs. Vendor Selection & Management - It's hard to say which of Nira's attributes provided the most value, but this might be it. There are SO MANY choices when it comes to vendors, especially for us as we had to bring EVERYTHING into our venue. Whether you have someone in mind, or have no idea where to start and need a varied list to fit all budgets and options, you're covered. Nira was super honest about the vendors she knew - the pros and cons, and what tradeoffs were worth it. And once our vendors were selected, Nira ran all communication to them for us. She saved us so much time and headache by helping us negotiate terms and rates, running interference when something wasn't right, and giving them all the direction they needed for day of execution. Decor/Design - We made some one off decisions here and there on design, and gave Nira our overall vision, but left the rest up to her. When I walked up to the venue for the first time I was completely shocked. I felt like I had just walked into one of those weddings featured in Style Me Pretty. Was this our wedding?? On our budget?? I don't know how she pulled it off, but it was absolutely fantastic. Execution / Amber Events Staff / The Little Things - To be totally honest, I hardly saw Nira on our wedding day. Nor did I meet or see most of her staff. But that's what made it amazing - they were like the little elves in Santa's workshop that create all the magic but get no credit. We never had to give any direction or wonder if something was taken care of, it all just happened with so much thoughtfulness and experience. For example, at the end of the night they packed up all of our stuff in the car and we drove off. I had no idea what was in there until we unpacked the next day - not only did they grab all the stuff we brought (that I incidentally left scattered all over the venue), they made sure to grab us copies of menus, programs, and other keepsakes that I didn't have time to see the night before. Nira's got a great personality - she's easy to work with, fun, and friendly, but is also professional and knows how to handle difficult situations. I don't know what we would have done without her. So don't be in doubt; pull the trigger and let Nira help you with your wedding. You will have made the second best decision about your wedding after deciding to get married. read more

Nira and her team were totally kick-ass wedding planners and I would recommend them to anyone: friend or foe or even my BFF who can TOTALLY have just as awesome of a wedding as I did because weddings are fun and it's NOT a competition ladies! ;) l didn't exactly know what to expect with getting engaged and starting to think about planning a wedding...I didn't know if I would enjoy doing all that work, if I was going to turn into a total bridezilla. I actually DO throw a lot of parties myself....but I wondered if the pressure of my own wedding might be my achilles heel. I was lost. But I did know one thing - wedding planning has turned into this nightmarish black hole with the advent of Pinterest and the interwebs. I not only consider myself a stylish person, but one who has confidence with regards to her personal style. But even someone with conviction experiences this seismic shift when you get engaged and then all of a sudden you're sucked into the vortex and you're like "but wait! We could do [insert Pinterest idea that was probably for a wedding for like 40 people and really only doable budget wise if you cancel that ethereal photographer who photographs auras...but you already booked them because their waitlist is 18 months out!]" over and over and over and over again. So! After about a week of this, I realized that this was idiocy and that a wedding planner was needed because this. shit. was. crazy. And I never looked back. Nira and Amber Events did a top notch job. The wedding was beautiful, personal and FUN. Her team was ON IT. It was incredibly helpful to have someone say "You have to do [this] now", because otherwise, I really never would have had a first dance or cut the cake etc. All of the planning leading up to the event was also very easy. Most of it was via email, which was great. She handles most of the tedium of getting quotes revised, scheduling tastings, etc etc. She also has the experience with planning weddings where she can advise you on what to cut, what not to cut, and how to stay on budget. She will give you smart stylistic choices, but ultimately be able to tell you "this isn't worth it. let's do this and it will still be within your vision". What I enjoyed MOST about working with Nira was that she understood my anti-vortex mindset and was there to be like, "This is what you choose now. Here is a list of 5-10 vendors with this range of prices". Obviously, this sort of planning is not for everyone. Some people want ALL THE OPTIONS. But trust me, you don't want all the options. You know those restaurants with way too many pages of dishes? You're never confident about your choice because you had like 5 back-up options and really only chose the one you did because the waiter needed your order at that moment. Nira's vendor list and industry connections ALONE are worth it. Just look at their portfolio! Amber Events has done beautiful weddings! Do yourself a favor and resist the urge to buy into the madness that is wedding planning. If you can afford a wedding planner, DO IT. In fact, hire Amber Events. Trust. Breathe. Have so much fun at your wedding. And then get back to living your life. read more
