It is hard to know where to begin with Carole and her amazing team - since our first conversation in early 2020 she was reassuring and made me feel comfortable with the vision and budget of our wedding, never pressuring one way or another. She is both a good listener and communicator, and replies to emails more promptly than I could have ever hoped. It was thanks to her and her team (Mina on the day of my wedding) that I was fully able to relax and be in the moment. Bright Blue Events was the vendor that was the most worth it in my opinion and went above and beyond my expectations. Most of all, Carole saw us through the COVID pandemic and a change in venue with the most comfort and grace. She was reliable and understanding through a very difficult year for us on many levels, and continued to provide support, without complaint or changing fees, for a year longer than any of us had thought when we first signed our contract. This was probably the best spent money from our wedding budget. There are lots of costs that go into throwing a wedding but Bright Blue Events was worth ever cent... seriously. Carole and her team were our month of planners with event design and vendor management help. Carole and her all star team at Bright Blue coordinated our wedding in July 2019. We got the full service package with two additional events on top of the wedding, which we used on a rehearsal dinner and the after partay. Everything was incredible -- from the caterers to the florists to the DJ to the luxury portable toilets and especially to the wedding venue itself (the amazing Adamson House in Malibu). We planned an LA wedding remotely from not one but two different locations (East Coast and Midwest) but Carole made coordination seamless, from FaceTime conference calls to the multiple Excel spreadsheets we sent back and forth. We started working with them about a year ahead of our wedding date and the level of care that they showed us from beginning to end was consistent and exemplary. Their working style is perfect for any couple looking to plan their own wedding while balancing the usual work/life/play considerations: they were always proactive but never pushy; deferential to our preferences but never allowing us to make a misguided decision; and positive but never unrealistic. You won't find a more patient, calm, and organized planner than Carole. Adamson House was literally the last venue we visited on our itinerary of potential wedding locations, and Carole patiently endured us shooting down option after option until we arrived at our perfect location. I tear up thinking about how grateful I am for Mina, Carole, and the rest of the Bright Blue team. After the Woolsey Fires had us without a venue only 3 months away from our wedding date with 90% of our guests coming from across the country, we were absolutely devastated. Up until this point I had planned every single thing by myself and now I thought I had to throw it all away and start from scratch again by myself. Carole saved everything. No more than 8 hours after finding out we were venue-less, we had several appointments with venues for the NEXT DAY. I know this review is incredibly long but please read this if you are debating between wedding planners or if you aren't sure what working with a wedding coordinator is really like (because that was me!!) I would give Carole and her team 10 stars if I could!! We booked her in 2019 for our wedding in 2020 and one of the questions I asked her during the initial consultation was how she handles unexpected situations and what would happen if for some reason we had to make drastic adjustments to our plans. Her answer was very professional and gave me confidence in knowing that she was experienced enough to handle anything that could be thrown at us. Well, we all know what happened in 2020 and low and behold, we had to postpone our wedding and pivot everything. Carole has been a guiding light throughout the entire planning process and she's helped us stay calm and collected. Working with her has been a stellar experience from beginning to end. She's extremely responsive, gave us great advice each step of the way, recommended amazing vendors, and kept us organized and sane up until the big day. The week of our wedding was hectic due to many of our guests canceling last minute. In the end, we weren't able to meet the minimum guest count for our venue and despite us having already committed to a final balance due, she helped us reduce our count at our venue which saved us a lot of money that would have otherwise gone to waste. She also helped us figure out a way to repurpose the signage we had already purchased so that we could coordinate around the new guest count without needing to redo our entire floorplan or reorder any prints. This is a great example of why it's so important to work with a professional planner!! She created our timeline, helped us figure out the processional and recessional details, helped us with our floorplan, and knew so much about our venue that she would often answer questions I had before our contact at the venue had a chance to get back to us. Her level of expertise is unmatched. But none of that compares to how diligent, caring, and detailed-oriented Carole and her team were on the day of the wedding. She and her 2 assistant coordinators went above and beyond to make sure that all we had to do was enjoy our day. These ladies executed everything to a tee. I wasn't asked a single question all day, I was catered to endlessly, and everyone in our wedding party including guests commented multiple times about how seamless the entire day was. Carole and her team WORK HARD. They were running around tirelessly behind the scenes like FBI agents with their headsets the entire time communicating with vendors, keeping everyone to our timeline, and making sure that me and my now hubby had everything we needed. Oh, at one point during the reception I went to take off my heels because my feet were hurting and one of her assistants appeared out of nowhere to help and brought me slippers!!! Also, towards the end of the night, her 2 assistants stayed behind to make sure that my new hubby and I had everything we needed and escorted us back to our room where EVERYTHING WAS ORGANIZED FOR US. Desserts were saved for us to enjoy, our gifts were left neatly in our room, flower arrangements were saved and our sign that our guests left notes on was propped up beautifully. I'm not sure how this vendor got 5 stars because what I experienced was absolutely disastrous. I am the sister of the groom who got married last weekend. Their wedding coordinator was Carol and she was completely unprofessional. First off, she was no where to be found. All the family and wedding party were so lost and had no idea where to go and what to do. We were supposed to take family photos pre-ceremony so we arrived 2 hours prior to the ceremony start time. We had no idea where to go cuz no one informed us or greeted us. We finally got a hold of the busy groom and was told to wait in the groom's hotel room, so that's what we did. An hour passed by and no one came to give us directions nor guided us to go take family photos. I was starting to get worried as it was getting so close to the ceremony time, so i herded all my family to the ceremony place and the photographers thanked me for bringing everyone as they told the coordinator to come grab us an hour ago and she just said okay and was standing around. They were worried they weren't going to be able to take family photos. Ceremony start was delayed cuz the ring box was left behind the room. The coordinator did not even check if the couple had the ring box until the bride had to ask her for it 10 minutes before ceremony start time. For reception, guests were missing seats and was so lost in finding their seats. No one helped the guests in finding the seating chart/seats. Some guests never even saw the seating chart. The bride was changing into her 2nd dress in her suite and the coordinator didnt even bother to help or check on her and most of all, didnt tell her to come down to start the grand entrance for the reception! They had to just come down themselves to see if it was time! Most of all, the worst part was after the wedding ended. Carol was, again, no where to be found (and she had all the keys to their hotel room!!) and the venue staff was egging the bride and bridesmaids to empty out the suites. They were told that the coordinators were going to clear out the room and deliver their belongings to their hotel room. But because Carol was nowhere to be found, the bride and bridesmaid ended up clearing the room & carried all the bags and belongings themselves. And because they were clearing out the room, the shuttle service that goes from the wedding area to their hotel room ended. They had to walk all the way back to their room with all their belongings!! This is no way to end their once in a lifetime special day. The bride was incredibly upset. One common comment we heard from most of our guests was how surprised they were of how disorganized and chaotic the event was with TWO coordinators. The timeline was incredibly behind so guests got their main course at 9 pm. NINE PM!! The photographers and videographers didnt even get their vendor meals (that the bride & groom also paid for) and was starving the whole day. They told me they were constantly having to ask "where's the coordinator?" Which i think is absolutely bizarre and incredibly unprofessional. I was ready to enjoy my brother's wedding and all i remember that day was working my butt off to make sure things were running, help out confused/lost guests, herd family here and there, and try to keep the bride & groom from getting too upset. Heck, people thought i was the coordinator cuz i was doing their job. Even the vendors started to rely on me. Overall, if you want a smooth wedding with happy guests and bride & groom, AVOID CAROL. Bright Blue did better than we ever expected, and we recommend them highly. Their planning, advice and timelines were invaluable to our event going well. Hiring Bright Blue Events was the single best wedding decision I made (besides of course saying yes to my now-husband's proposal ;)). After interviewing numerous coordinators, I hired Carole and her team as my Day-of-Coordinator, and could not be more impressed with their services. I was not the easiest bride--I probably emailed Carole almost every single day over the past year, and she always responded promptly and with the most helpful answers. Carole and her team were my rock throughout the past year, and I could not have pulled this off without their amazing support! Even though they were technically only Day-of-Coordinators, I felt like they were with me every step of the way. They really do go above and beyond. And they have impeccable taste and know the answers to everything. A few weeks before my wedding, Carole and team completely took over with my vendors, sending them timelines and reminders and making sure everything was ready to go. This allowed me to focus on last-minute getting ready and spending time with family. And the day of, oh my gosh, they were INCREDIBLE! Carole and team had everything looking insanely gorgeous by the time we arrived and ran the event seamlessly. I had an awful issue with my officiant who showed up late and acting crazily, and Carole even managed to find a creative way to fire him mid-ceremony and put in a back-up, without any of my guests realizing what had just happened! At the beginning of last year, I was attempting to have a mostly DIY wedding to save on costs. The one thing I knew I needed was a wedding coordinator to make sure I wasn't missing anything and to take the pressure off our crazy timeframe (2 and 1/2 months to do it all - transform my in-laws home, yard and create a wedding). Our first coordinator bailed on us midway through the first month and I quickly found Bright Blue Events through yelp. I called and spoke with Carole who had a wonderful, calming presence that made me feel good about hiring BBE. Michelle and Carole came over for an appointment shortly thereafter and walked through the property. Over the next few weeks, I spoke with Carole a few times when I needed some guidance (and calming) and met with Michelle to make sure we had everything in place. Michelle found vendors who had the right prices for us and worked with the others we had met through friend referrals. She coordinated with all of them seamlessly and helped troubleshoot any issues (and especially things I would have never thought of). I had also been convinced by a friend that I could manage the flower arranging myself (definitely do not do this alone, lots of preparation is needed). This was my favorite surprise in working with BBE - on the day of when we were scrambling to get ready, Michelle and her team took our extra flowers and made some beautiful touches to our wedding. What I loved about working with Michelle was that on the day of my wedding, I wasn't worried about anything or anyone. Everything went by seamlessly. Michelle and Carole are simply fabulous at their job!
