This is my second time getting eyelash extensions but my FIRST time getting it from Wink Lash Studio, and this experience FAR surpassed my first experience. Because my first experience in an unrelated Manhattan salon left me with extensions that felt heavy and looked so over the top (when I asked for a natural look) I thought I'd never do them again. However, thanks to a Groupon, I decided to take the plunge and try again. Benny was my clinician and did an AMAZING job. I did not want my lashes to be too long (I just wanted them fuller) and emphatically asked for the shortest possible length since I wear glasses. She was very careful, precise and at the end, I was amazed by how subtle, yet noticeably natural and pretty the lashes looked. My 16 yo daughter also did them for the first time and they were beautifully done by her clinician as well. The staff was very nice and when my extensions were done, Benny explained in detail how to take care of my new lashes. She, herself, also had beautiful lashes on and when I asked her about them, said they were already two weeks old! I was so surprised by how full and great they still looked. terrible terrible disgusting service! I literally paid to these ladies to damage my eyelashes. I got the lifting and tint almost 4 weeks ago I don't know what the lady did but she burned my eyelashes plus I got a terrible allergy for more than 2 weeks! I called them to make the respective claim and they asked to go back to fiX the problem but the solution was worst. Literally just left the salon, asked for a eyelash lift and tint and an ye brow wax and tint. Appt was for 7pm and I arrived at 6:40pm. Literally the worst experience ever. My eyes are burning. And the lady who did my lashes didn't speak English which tbh is fine but she also didn't know how to do lashes. She did the lift ( or at-least attempted to do it) and that took 45 mins. They were NOT lifted at all and then they had another girl try to fix it. And worked on them for another 15 mins and they were not lifted and then proceeded to say oh let's try and fix it again. Which I understand is great they tried but like now my eye lashes look disgusting way worse then what they were my eyes are burning up. They poked and scratched my whole bottom eye lid area it was just horrible. The worst experience I experienced and I wish it wasn't like this. Really disappointed. read more

This lash studio also has a promotion going on - 2 lash fills for $90 something dollars, which is great for girls who keep up with their lashes. (I only get mine done when I go on vacation) Next time I get a full set, I'm going to try out the volume set. Excited to see how those look on me!!! Highly recommended. Needed to get my lashes done immediately and stumbled upon Wink. As I began to do my research on them, I realized that there was a Groupon for them so I called them before I purchased the groupon to make sure they had ann appointment for the same day at 6:30. Michelle was able to accommodate me and put me in immediately. I also decided to ask if they would be so kind to honor the Groupon price instead of me purchasing it from Groupon directly, knowing that Groupon does take a good percentage of the money. They also accommodated me with that and told me they would absolutely honor it. Upon entering Wink, there was relaxing music (which is always nice to hear relaxing spa music after a VERY LONG day of work rather than loud Top 40.) Michelle greeted me and brought me into the room where she would begin working on my lash extensions. I told her exactly what I wanted and that's exactly what I got. The girl who did my lashes fingers smelled SO BAD! I asked her what she ate thinking she would get the hint. She got very nasty and started PULLING my natural lashes telling me how "all Americans are rude". I didn't want to argue so I asked her to stop because I was done. I tried this place from Groupon search and was in need of lash treatment near my house... I was highly disappointed. customer service: 0 (if that's possible) lash results: 1 environment: 0 (yes, that bad) speed: 1 value for service: 1 Booking an appointment was difficult. The receptionist had trouble understanding me. I was explaining to her that I wanted to go at a time when they were not busy. She seemed confused so I ended up booking the earliest appointment for the day that I was available. My appointment was at noon-on the dot. I arrived 11:50 (10 minutes early) and was the only customer in the lobby but did not get serviced until 12:45. I didn't ask them anything while waiting and they didn't address the wait. I tried to give them benefit of doubt since it was my first time there. When I went inside, the lash technician did not speak to me. She didn't even greet me. It was very awkward so I took it upon myself to go on the bed. She taped my eyes and walked away for a few minutes. When she returned she was eating. Completely not sanitary! I was blindfolding and heard her chew during the first 15 minutes while she was doing my lashes. I could also smell the grease that was near my face. I wanted to ask her to stop eating but I didn't want to risk ruining my lashes or getting hurt by the glue. It was the most uncomfortable situation that I have ever experienced at a lash place. After a while she left again. She went to another room, which later I found it was their back room where the staff eat. She started shouting across rooms in Manderian. I guess she couldn't tell by my race that I understood Manderian but everyone who grew in NYC up had to take language regents... it is quite common for non-Asians to learn Chinese. Anyhow, she was shouting across the room to another lady about a customer who was laying next to me, calling her cheap. She apparently was upset that she only got tipped 5$ when she served her 2 weeks ago. It was very uncomfortable because she went on to complain about a few other customers. Some of the other staff jumped in on the conversation basically complaining about every customer that they didn't like. Not only was I uncomfortable, I was starting to get a headache because they were incredibly loud. I was tempted to just get up and exit the entire service. It felt like 15-20 minutes went by and finally, a technician technician came to complete my lashes. When she took my blindfold off, it turned out to be another technician. I was so confused. Of course, this technician also did not speak to me. I asked her about after care procedures and she called the receptionist to translate. When she arrived, she was on the phone. Again, awkwardly waiting for her to complete her phone call (about jackets) to get serviced. To top everything off, I explained to the receptionist how unsatisfied I was with the service and her reply was if I wanted to buy 3 more services with the current deal! I purchased a massage on groupon. I'm accustomed to a serene relaxing environment. When I came in, one of the employees was having a loud conversation on the phone. I did ask her if it would be quiet when i'm in for my massage. My friend was visiting from England and was already in the room when I arrived. Shortly after getting there, another customer came in and immediately she and the worker started a loud conversation which continued into the eyelash room. They had left the door partially opened and it was like a party going on. The talking and laughter was loud and non stop, you would have thought there were several people in the room. I asked the girl who gave me my massage, never even introducing herself, if she can ask them to keep it down. Initially she said NO she can't and perhaps I'd like to come back another time. My friend then came out of the massage room. She was also bothered by the loud noise, and the fact that she didn't even know her massage was done. The masseuse left the room, which she had done several times during the massage so my friend just assumed she was coming back. After a while she realized she wasn't returning and she got dressed. I had left a comment on groupon (they sent me a comment request). What really bothered me was the response I received from Wink, they pulled the "race" card. They responded by saying, don't think the customer was a friend because of their native. How dare they. Since they were speaking in an Asian language, of course I couldn't understand, but I do understand laughter and body language. That is universal. I went there with a purchased Groupon to try the keratin lash lift and tint for the first time. I would never normally pay that amount for that service but I got a good deal and decided to try it. She redeemed my groupon on my phone and after I laid down for the service, she proceeded to convince me to try the Yumi instead of keratin. She said it would last a few more weeks and I said no I'm not sure. Then she said she would give me 10% off and I would just pay the difference of the services. So I said ok thinking I'm paying the difference between their full price services ($109 vs $135 so $26) since she was showing me their menu of services and that's what it said. After all is done and I go to pay they said I have to pay $76 for the upgrade. My groupon was only $59. Why would I pay more than double what I intended for an extra week of lashes when I don't even know if I'll like it! Basically said I had to pay full price for the service and gave me $59 off for what I paid on Groupon. I feel completely misled and scammed and I think they need to be more clear. I went to Staten Island from NJ and basically walked out having paid full price for a treatment I would never have normally paid full price for plus gas and toll. Honestly after it's done I don't think it would be worth the full price either. She was also very pushy for me to get my permanent liner done even after I said no. I will never be going back to this place and would just like to warn people so the same doesn't happen to them. read more
