Cancer looking wings.. "mild"

Yep' just like the reviews say. Old cold overly salted fries after waiting 45 mins for the order to be done. Sent them back for fresh ones, waited another 10 mins. Never coming back, don't let your teens convince you this is GOOD stuff..

This used to be one of my favorite chains, and the food is still good - as flavors have not changed much. The disappointment comes into play with the prices and the size of the wings. As the costs go up, the size of the wings is more of a hybrid between a chicken and a cornish game hen. ;) Last visit we got our food to go and I think they realized this as all 10 packs were actually 11 wings and the boneless had quite a few more than 10 pieces. This one location treated us right, hence the additional one star, but as for a chain, I have begun to look elsewhere for my wings.

The chips were okay, salsa too, and even got the queso - standard fare. This is where good ended. My friend ordered the burrito and enchilada combo. It was swimming in fat, which I originally thought was water or some meat juice. It didn't look great and he tried to keep his chin up about it, but he finally admitted it wasn't very good. He said it was lacking flavor and that liquid was a pool of oil. I ordered the Fajitas Mixtas. I love fajitas. Not these. The flour tortillas (3) were street taco size and they had been nuked to oblivion. Fortunately (sarcasm here) I had already ordered extra when the meal came out as I could see the foil pouch was so small the meal would need more. Those extra three pulverized tortillas cost me $2.99. The steak was loaded with sinew, the chicken was cooked beyond the point of being well done, and the shrimp were okay - just very little seasoning. The side plate with the lettuce, pico, sour cream, guacamole, rice and beans was a typical portion, but the refried beans were not good. So frustrating paying over $50 for two and the meal was one where I specifically rejected the box for my leftovers. Never again. This place is not worth it at all.

I was on this part of town because I found a sauna to try and on my way back to my hotel I looked up the closest pizza place. This place was busy and seems like a neighborhood favorite. I was quickly greeted and ordered a pizza and a salad and went outside outside to sit on their very large patio. My food was brought to me in a timely manner. It didn't take too long, but it was definitely cooked fresh. I made it a pattern to get a Bianca style or no tomato sauce type pizza and a Caesar salad at most of the restaurants. I tried while in Tallahassee. So I ordered a pizza with a non-tomato base. It was absolutely delicious. Well cooked good toppings and I really liked it. The Caesar salad I added chicken too because there was no meat on the pizza and I believe they don't charge extra for chicken so that was nice. The salad was great. Everything was great and the atmosphere seems like a fun family place to have pizza. They also had ice cream. And if I wasn't full and moderately lactose intolerant, I would've gotten some ice cream. But again I was staying in a hotel with no freezer so I didn't wanna risk having to eat it quickly.

My friend is addicted to their burgers and always asks for them to be flattened a little on the griddle because he doesn't like thicker burgers. Delicious- all the time. Today, I was in the mood for fried seafood. I've had their seafood pasta which is terrific. I wanted to know if the shrimp was fresh or frozen and the waitress went back to ask. She said they were fresh from southern seafood. I ordered the catfish and shrimp platter. I wish I had remembered to ask for them lightly fried. When I saw the shrimp, I knew it was overdone. The batter on it was not light and flaky like on the onion rings. The catfish were small nuggets and I got about six of them. The saving grace was the delicious cocktail and tartar sauce. I don't think I'll be ordering fried seafood from this location again. The hush puppies were dense, heavy, tasteless and inedible. I took a bite and spit it into my napkin. I will eat at coosh's again because I know some of their food is very good. I even like their custom dressings and seasonings. Well, this visit was nice, the bathrooms were clean, the waitress seemed to forget us when it came time for the checks. --------------------- This is from another visit: I've been to Coosh's several times and enjoy the food. However, there are two things lacking. One would be the service and two would be clean bathrooms. I arrived first thing in the morning for breakfast. The service was slow and there were not many patrons in the restaurant. The beignets were very good. My chorizo and eggs with corn tortillas were great and the grits were perfectly seasoned. However, when I went to the restroom to wash my hands, the floor was so sticky my feet would stick to it. My sneakers made sounds as they were pulled from the floor as I walked. The sinks were dirty and the toilet was not much better. A lot of young people work here which is a good thing but it seems like they have very little oversight. Tables were left sitting without being bussed. This restaurant has a potential to be a four-star restaurant. Because of the slow service and the dirty restrooms I removed a star.

All these years later, I finally checked Coosh's out for brunch after church to see what the hype was all about. It was SUPER busy on a Sunday afternoon but we were seated immediately at probably one of the last available tables. Service was slow but we got our order in quickly once our server came around. We ordered three of Our Famous Beignets which were pretty solid - they're not Cafe du Monde but I was still satisfied. I decided why not go big while I'm home so I ordered the Hangover, which was a massive bowl of grits (I'm not exaggerating when I say massive). It was super heavy, as I expected, and maybe not my first choice for an entree if I were actually hungover. However, it was tasty and flavorful and the eggs were cooked perfectly. Overall, while I know one brunch dish is not indicative of the entire rest of the menu, I definitely would love to stop in again to see what brought the kids in everyday for lunch.
