Not usually a fan of fast food, but we were in a hurry and the group seem to want wings. I have to say that the front man, Brian, really made the experience memorable one. It is disrespectful for me to order online or over the phone at 9:45 PM to arrive at Wingstop at 10:25PM and my food has yet to be cooked. What is the point of placing an online or over the phone if I still have to walk inside the restaurant, remind them what my order is, and then wait for them to start cooking it? Wingstop supposed to have the food ready for me, I gave them more than the average 20 minutes to have my food ready and this is the fourth time that I've arrived and my food has still yet to be even started. Your company emphasizes the fact that you can skip the line and skip the wait if you order online or over the app, but that's not the case for this location here in San Carlos. This restaurant has a pile of receipts printed ready to be cooked, but instead of grabbing the receipt, hanging them, and starting to cook the food, they wait until the customer comes in there, then they grab the receipt and start to cook the food, at this point I'm just a walk-in customer. I'm very disappointed, especially because I've had higher expectations for Wingstop; to top it off, this new automated system when you call is not helpful because either way my food is nowhere ready when I arrive to the establishment. Not sure why the low overall stars review for this place. I have been here a few times and have not been disappointed. My latest visit was a few weeks ago during COVID SIP when they were doing a special deal for national chicken wing day. I placed my order online while I was walking with my family at the nearby park and my order was ready at the specified time. Pick up was fast, smooth and easy since I had paid online. My order was bagged and ready once I checked in at the counter. The wings were also very tasty and made even more so with the free wings for national chicken wing day. I ordered the boneless and classic wings with a mix of flavors: garlic parmesan, Hawaiian and original hot. I still prefer the wings at Firewings and Bonchon in downtown San Mateo but Wingstop is still pretty good as well if you are in the area! read more

I asked for a military discount and the guy behind the counter said "no". It's strange because every Wingstop I've gone to has given me one. I got my order twenty minutes later (wasn't busy in there) and my fries were burnt and cold. My Louisiana Rub wings were not Louisiana Rub wings at all.There was more butter sauce than anything else. Those were cold as well. I looked over at the guy who ordered 10 minutes after me who got his order a minute after me and his fries looked fresh! I'll bet his entire order wasn't cold! I stopped here for lunch today after shopping in the plaza. Take out only. While my boyfriend and I were looking at the menu to decide what we wanted, we were rudely greeted by the cashier. He then asked what we would like to order, but after giving our order he only took down our name. We had to repeat the order! The overall conversation to order the food was unpleasant and my bf and I felt like we were being yelled at. In addition, we are currently dealing with a pandemic. While everyone was wearing mask inside, the cashier (who prepped all the drink cups/straws) and employee bagging the food was not wearing gloves. It made me feel really uncomfortable watching them handle the food and cups unsafely. The employee prepping the chicken was wearing gloves if that gives you some comfort. The sauce on the wings were good (only positive reason for the stars). However, the chicken is oily and all the boneless chicken pieces are inconsistent in size. This location is extremely unsanitary. We watched the female employee work with raw chicken carelessly without washing her hands and continuing to touch utensils and food items with contaminated hands. This is an extreme health risk. I found raw chicken residue on the outside of my to-go box. From what I analyzed, mixing bowls and utensils were not being cleaned and continuously being reused. I refused to eat my food due to the health risks that this brings about. This place needs to be audited, and employees need to be taught to handle raw proteins with the correct measures and proceed with the right sanitation protocols. We swung by here today for a quick pick me up before we went shopping at HomeGoods. We weren't looking to chow down a whole meal, just something small to hold us over before dinner too. I didn't realize they had a 70 cents boneless wings deal on Monday & Tuesdays so it worked out perfectly. There is a minimum purchase order of 10 boneless wings so that worked in our favor. We ordered the spicy Korean Q and original hot and a side of veggie sticks. I didn't get his name, but the server actually gave us two free drink cups which really surprised us since we weren't ordering the combo meal nor did we actually need soda but nonetheless we appreciated it. All for the staff were pretty nice and polite when we were there. I'm not sure if maybe some people just come during their busier hours. Pretty big fan of wingstop and this is the location I like the most of all the locations. However, I ordered the mango habanero wings and it was not spicy at all. It's pretty high up on the spice meter but it was not spicy at all. It just tasted sweet. The Cajun corn was really spicy. Had to take some of the Cajun rub off of it because it got to be too much but it was good! I would order the Cajun corn again. I liked the fries but felt like they were a little too overly seasoned. The other wings we got were the regular saucy ones. It's a pretty standard wingstop place. Definitely would come back if I am in the area. read more

They did the opposite they called jandro racial slurs under their breath and though we wouldn't notice. the pricing on these wings are beyond me. 8 piece bone in is $8.80 and 10 piece bone in is $14.99. I looked like the confused emoji reading my receipt. Not only was their hospitality terrible but they got our orders wrong. This was the last straw of many trips to this subpar location. Order is never ready on time - you literally should double whatever "ready by" time they give you when you order online for pickup. And they get the order wrong almost every time as well. Been coming here regularly and tonight is an example of why they are declining in their rating. Could not order 3 sauces cause the system apparently did not allow it. Our meal comes with 3 but we were given a choice of 2. Huh? To boot the server argued that we can't do that. Why offer 3 sauces and only provide 2. Doesn't make sense. Finally got the sauces but now it became a 30 minute wait for dine in. Funny how people after us ordered and got their orders before ours. What happened to the 30 min wait. Of all the Wingstop locations that I've tried (about a dozen now), this location is consistently the best one. They have never messed up my order, are reliable with how long the orders are supposed to take, and have a Coke Freestyle machine. The food is always delicious and the staff courteous. This location is also pretty busy during peak meal times, so sometimes you have to fight for a seat at a table (or share a table if needed). My only complaint is that the landlord stuck all the food places in this shopping center in the same area. Between this Wingstop, a Chipotle, a Starbucks and a Jamba Juice, parking near the building can be difficult. Sometimes, I park near the Best Buy and just walk a bit. But this is a small price to pain for good food and good customer service. read more
