Tonight was cold, so comfort food felt like the right choice. While the food was good, the experience was completely undermined by the female bartender's lack of attention--or even basic acknowledgment. At first, she was clearly weeded, and when someone is busy, I understand the need to be patient. That wasn't the issue. After the place slowed down, she continued to ignore my wife and I, while seemingly going out of her way to ask people who were not sitting at the bar if they needed drinks--often talking right over the guests who were seated at the bar. I tried repeatedly to make eye contact. I asked to see the menu again since we were ready to order more food. She gave me the menu, but even though the bar was no longer crowded, I still couldn't get her attention for another 15 minutes. I placed the menu clearly in front of me to signal that I was ready, yet she continued serving people all around us. I then tried to break the ice by asking if the kitchen was still open. She replied, "Of course it's open," and walked away. I didn't want to call out "excuse me," because that felt rude. Five minutes later, I'd had enough. I asked for the check and calmly explained exactly what I'm explaining here. She began to apologize, but then a male bartender aggressively dropped the check in front of me, which felt like a clear message to leave. I've been coming here occasionally for over 20 years, and it has always been a solid, friendly place. Unfortunately, after the way we were treated tonight, I won't be returning.

The slaw provides a freshness, and the pickles (though they wouldn't have been my first choice) were a nice touch. That being said, I felt like the bun was a bit of a letdown. Because of how hot and large the sandwich was, about halfway through it started to get soggy and fall apart. The fries weren't anything special, but they did put some seasoning on them, which was good. And the ranch, while edible, was too basic for my preference. Service was quick, and the staff was friendly. Prices seemed high, but after seeing how much food I was served, I think it's justified. I don't think I'll seek them out, but if they were out where I was, I'd consider getting it for dinner again.
