Lady working the counter was on a phone call. My wife and I stood there and waited for about ten minutes until we got fed up and left.

What can I say? It's a Denny's. As a comedienne once said, people don't go to Denny's, the wind up…read moreat Denny's. Which I did. I blew a tire on my company van and it's bitter cold outside, I saw the Denny's sign, I thought hey, at least I'll be warn and can get some food while I wait for a wrecker. Warm was the last thing I was. Freezing cold inside. I walked up to the host's station and instead of something like, "Welcome to Denny's, how many please?", my greeting was, "What can I do for you?" And I told him, "Feed me." He took me to a window seat and gave me three options for coffee creamer, which impressed me. Later thinking, why not just bring a selection if the three to the table? Makes sense to me. The coffee was a few degrees below tepid. I couldn't give my order right away due to waiting on the phone for the fleet management company to answer. I thought maybe a nice steak would help, I ordered the 8 oz sirloin, medium-rare. Their selection of sides is slim, so red skin mash and some kind of a honey corn which I can't begin to describe. I got a top off on my coffee which changed it from nearly tepid to cold. The restaurant was freezing, I noticed the handful of patrons all had their coats on. I asked the waiter if the heat could be turned up, as he walked away he replied "I doubt it." The food did arrive hot at least, the steak was anywhere from medium-rare to medium-well. Potatoes were okay. The corn was ... indescribable. I did ask for a hot cup of coffee, he said he would bring me a fresh cup. So the first cup *wasn't* fresh? One thing did impress me. My lead called to check on me, we got to talking and I was overheard talking about the coffee, and someone brought me a second cup, very impressive. And a little bit warmer than the first cup. Pecan pie for dessert, I never saw a slice of pecan pie so skinny before, and for that price. I asked if he'd warm it for me, and no problem, though I didn't expect it to be molten. My tongue is still running across the charred remains of the roof of my mouth. Go if you must.

Food was a mixed bag, some was hot some looked like it had sat under heat lamps. Our server told us…read moreupfront they were out of certain foods, how do you run out of chicken tenders? The setting reminded me of an old restaurant from the 70's, definitely needs to be remodeled and brightened up.
