Always the king of wings. I've been going here for over 30 years, everytime they bring out the best wings around. My go to are the Hot Cajun wings. Always crunchy, meaty, the right amount of Cajun seasoning, laying in yummy hot sauce. A side of mozzarella sticks, bigger than the average sticks, the cheese is so light, and flavorful. Do yourself a favor, and make the drive if you've never been here. They have wings, bbq ribs, burgers, great apps, a nice sized menu. When you arrive, there are dining rooms upstairs, but if you want the best experience, on the left, walk down the stairs into the basement. It reminds you of a German Beer Garden. Y'all. This is seriously one of my favorite restaurants of all time! Food is always delicious and consistent, and Drover's offers some of the best service between Pittsburgh and Wheeling. I feel like I always have Jess as my server, she is so great!!! I always get the chicken philly with waffle fries. The chicken on the sandwich is grilled perfectly and is so delicious. Wings are a crowd favorite here and they have a nice array of flavors. Be sure to get some of their homemade bleu cheese! This place never disappoints! It just gives you that hometown historic charm. It feels like you are walking into someone's house once you arrive. We had a party of 7 and were seated right away. Our waitress was friendly and super attentive. We received really good service while there. You absolutely can not go wrong with the wings. I always go for the BBQ Wings with a side of seasoned fries and ranch. Literally the best wings I've ever had. They also have a full bar if you want a nice cold drink to go along with your food. One of the most charming restaurants around with the best wings in the world. I was lucky enough to be introduced to Drovers while attending Bethany College down the road for undergrad. And now, as a Pittsburgh resident, I'm willing the make the one hour drive when the craving strikes. You won't find better wings than this. I also love the steak fries, which you can order plain, with cheese, or if you're feeling extra spicy, cheese AND bacon. They also have great homestyle dishes and other fried apps which are all delicious (other favorites include the fried ravioli and zucchini). My favorite place to sit is the tavern downstairs for the unique ambiance. It feels like sitting in a bustling English pub. They do take reservations for sitting upstairs (on one of two floors) which is still cozy and best for a larger group. If you live within a 1 hour radius (maybe even 2) just get in the car and go. The restaurant is definitely cool but I didn't think the food was anything to write home about. We sat in the basement which is really neat, definitely old and historic like the whole building. I guess the wings are excellent but I'm not much of a wings gal. I had the steak sandwich. It was decent, definitely a big portion with thinly shaved beef. On a scale of romances to documentaries, Drover's Inn is a bodice-ripper romance. Tucked away off of Washington Pike, it's easy to miss, but it's definitely something to turn around for. Parking is plentiful, and our group was seated quickly. While our local friends encouraged us to order the wings, I deviated for the baby back ribs, and I honestly should have stuck with the wings! The last time I was here, I didn't own a cell phone - which is just as well, since there was no signal here anyway. I was staying nearby for work this week and thought I would see if 30 years (give or take, the math is fuzzy) of memories would hold up, so I took myself to Drover's for some of their famous wings. No more roll of paper towel on the table, but the generous wad of lightweight napkins did the trick. The wings were smaller than I remember but still just as delicious. The owner was happy to seat me when I told him that I went to Franciscan so many years ago, and I think he was pleased to know that I wasn't one of the hooligans who stole a bunch of stuff from the tavern back in the day so there's that. Although there's some new modern features now - like ordering online! - the decor and ambience remain the same as I remember. I wish the ladies' room could've kept some of its old fashioned charm but I'm sure it's just as well. That weird rolling hand towel thing that I never could manage has been replaced by a dispenser of paper towels that didn't make me question whether I need to re-wash my hands. HOLY. WINGS. I was skeptical about Drover's when we pulled up. I thought, no way could a place that looks like this in the middle of nowhere have the best wings! You guys...I was so wrong! Granted, I'm no wing expert, I just know if I like them or not. If you're picky about wings, or just want wings, Drovers will not disappoint! I ordered the garlic Parmesan wings, because of course! It's either that or teriyaki, but they didn't have that flavor haha. The wings arrive in a basket - I am a little picky when it comes to the sauce/rub. They can't be smothered and no one wants dey wings. Drover's hits it right on the head. They had the perfect amount of sauce and flavor, and the crisp the wings have on that first bite...then the moist center?! I swear I dream about these wings. They were just perfect, not over garlic-y or dry. Just right! Now, the wings were one thing. I did get a side of their waffle fries, which was test numero dos. Ask and you shall receive - they were my version of perfect fries. You know the kind you get in that really good hole in the wall pub or diner? Yes! Crispy, just salty enough, and not dry or too soggy in the center. They're fries I'd go back for! I really wish I lived closer to Drover's, but that'd be dangerous. The best wings that are great every single time. My favorite flavors are the garlic parm and sweet hot oriental, along with a side of fries with cheese and bacon. This is a great place to go with a large group of people and they accept reservations. I admit that I have been going to Drover's for years and have yet to try any other food on the menu. Had been wanting to try this place since my daughter started attending West Liberty University. It was a very cool atmosphere. The wings were as advertised. Very good. Nice and crispy. Sauce were very good. Broasted chicken thigh was excellent as were the Buffalo cauliflower and zucchini strips. After that not so much on things. My FIL had the strip steak and it was way over cooked. They were very accommodating for our large crowd and would not hesitate to go back to get wings. read more

I have heard from numerous people for the past few years now that Drover's has the best wings of all time, so we HAD to go see for ourselves! Let me tell you, the wings are pretty freakin good. Drover's is an old Victorian home from the 1880s turned into a restaurant. It didn't really scream "wing place" to me, but I really admired the old charm. We sat in the dining room, but I guess the tavern has more of the pub feel. My husband and I ordered cheese balls and cheese fries as an app and both were delicious. We both got the buffalo garlic wings. They really were cooked to perfection. Crispy but still juicy. The only thing I didn't like was they didn't come with enough sauce. We both asked for extra sauce and once we poured it over our wings, that really made them a 10/10! Definitely recommend Drover's and definitely recommend asking for extra sauce! read more

We made reservations and checked this place out before a football game. First of all, Wellsburg and that entire area is quite pretty and quaint. The restaurant itself is historical and interesting. They really had no wine to speak of, but they do have a full bar. We had the wings - which they are known for. We liked them. I wouldn't say they were the best wings we have ever had, but they were good. We also tried the fish sandwich, which was huge and the waffle fries were great. Service was friendly and fast. We stopped in the tavern, which is in the basement. If it wasn't COVID, we might have stayed a bit. It was very crowded. It's a cool place, but just a few too many people for our comfort right now. I could write a novel here about how much I LOVE Drovers, I've been coming here for over 20 years. But I"ll keep this short and sweet. #1. If I'm ever offered a "Last Meal" for any reason. Drovers is where I'll request my food. Large Honey BBQ, Seasoned Fries w/cheese & cajun, and of course an order of Hot Pepper Cheeseballs. #2. Anyone that posts on here that places like BW's, Quaker Steak, Etc have "Better Wings" than Drovers. Were obviously born without working taste buds and should be stripped of their YELP Account.
