West Virginia tends to get a bad rep from most people who don't live there. ...we have great things for an exceptional value in the Ohio Valley: There is no where else on the planet I could get a burger, this fresh, this tasty, and never at this price point. This was a burger made to my spec w fries and two adult beverages for under $20 before tip. We often get brushed off down here, as business people, for having such an exceptional value. Quality doesn't have to be a burger and fries for $30+. They had a Giovanni burger special for $11 not long ago. Thisis not the place to assume the price is too good. Station grille doesn't have a large menu, therefore their overhead is lower, and gives them the advantage of serving better products, consistently, ALL the time. read more

Watch Your Bill ! Went there for a family Christmas Party in December. Food and service was excellent. I have no complaint about neither. There was approximately 25 of us so we spent a lot of money. My problem was I went to the bar before everyone came . I spent $7.00 and left a $3.00 tip . Someone changed my tip to a $30.00 tip . So I bought a $7.00 drink and left a $30.00 tip. $37.00 total! I never caught till my January bill came out . I texted about it and called the manager. Said he just stepped out and would call in a minute. That was 2 months ago. No call ! Needlessly I hope they enjoyed the $30.00 . Because they are not getting any more $$$$. Off me ! I will never go back ! read more

The quality of food here blew me away! Our table had a Ruben with fresh, homemade corned beef, meatball sliders that tasted like someone's Nona's recipe, crispy buffalo wings, and a grilled buffalo chicken sandwich that had a great sauce and perfectly cooked chicken. This place seems like a nice spot but the only down side is the smoking that they allow in the upper bar. We came here to watch band play some grateful dead and fish music. They band was just ok. Not too good and not too bad, just ok. The band was called Dead fish btw. The grille looks like a former train station or train itself. The lower part of the the train is a restaurant and the upper part is mostly a bar. They have plenty of seating and a dance floor closer to the back of the train. The bar is located in the first room up stairs. The drinks are relatively cheap and they sold snacks like chips, peanuts and even jerky. It was pretty crowded when were arrived but our party of 8 managed to find a table directly in front of the band. I was happy that the music wasn't too loud. But it was a little difficult talking to people across the table. We were there for about 2 hours before we decided to leave. The music was getting a little worn out and the smoke was becoming too much. Another bummer is that there were only 1 stalls in each bathroom so the line would get backed up pretty fast. I ended up using the mens room because the girls line was way too long (as usual). When i came out, a bunch of people were looking at me and I told them, hey you gotta go, you gotta go. They all laughed and joked about how the girls room is overcrowded and nasty half the time. Glad to see they weren't judging me. They stopped serving food at 9pm so we were left eating chips and jerky that night. Not exactly a hunger buster but our buddy fed us some clam soup at his place. Thank God for that! read more

The chicken meat was dry and rather bland and was nowhere near enough sauce on the sandwich and the upgrade to fries was two dollars and something if I would've known it was that much I would've stuck to the chips.I would eat here again but I would try something else perhaps a burger. read more

We picked up our daughter at Bethany College and went looking for somewhere to eat Sunday dinner, about 3:30 PM. We've driven right by Station Grill a dozen times, and decided to give it it's due. It's an old building that had been renovated in years past, but still held rustic charm with it's wood floors and big open space. There were only a couple other patrons eating when we walked in and we were politely received. Appeared to be only one young lady working the dining room. She was polite and efficient with us. Another joined her half way through our meal and more guests came in to eat. The menu has a nice selection of meats, fish, and pasta, both meals and sandwiches. Nice selection of appetizers. (We ordered the buffalo chicken fries - nice amount of chicken and good flavor) We all ordered a sandwich which came with their homemade chips and a pickle spear. The sandwiches (Reuben, pulled pork bbq, and chicken) were pleasingly on the bigger side which meant we all took a half of a sandwich home. Total cost with water for drinks = $38.00. Okay, this isn't fine dining, however, for a relatively good price and good service, nice atmosphere in a family setting, it was better than we had expected. read more

Who knew this little place in Wellsburg could be so great. The chips and fries were so unbelievably delicious, I was stealing off of my boyfriend's plate. I had pasta which was cooked perfectly and portioned very generously. It is a relaxing atmosphere for just hanging out and catching up with friends. We were not rushed out like most places. I would give it a 5 for service and 2 for food (for the particular entree I had). In fairness I will give 3. I was there with a large group and the service was very good. We all got our orders in good time and water was kept refilled. So kudos for that. I ordered chicken marsala with a side of mixed vegetables and a side salad. The salad was good. The vegetables were water logged and bland, and the marsala was not marsala. I don't know what it was. It tasted just okay. What others in the group had looked much better. I went to the restaurant tonight with two other family members. It was steak night and we all ordered the strip steaks. The steaks were delicious and the temperature of the steaks was perfect. Ok this place has taken a hit. Not sure if the cooks aren't on the same page but food is inconsistent I never know what to order. Service is good but something is amiss. Consistency is key. Not sure why restaurants cook red onions. Its not meant to be cooked...period. This restaurant uses them for everything. Wings are overcooked to the point you give up. Specials can be good but they are inconsistent from dish to dish. I can have one special and my mate could have the same and I'm pretty sure it's from another planet. I ordered the Chicken Saltibocca and the Pasta was over cooked and the chicken was dry. During eating my dinner no one came over to see how I am doing or if I like the food. I ate at the upstairs bar and looking above the bar all I see is cob webs and dust. There is no reason for that take pride in your bar, if the bar area is this bad could imagine what the kitchen looks like. I will be choosing other places to eat at. I am knew to the area and have traveled and lived in almost half of our great country so I eat out a lot and know how chicken and pasta is cooked. My boyfriend and I have been frequenting here for a while now but finally decided to make a review! Service is always great when we come and staff is very friendly. Their menu has delicious selection of sandwiches and burgers. I decided to get their gyro and it was flavorful and tender with a delicious cucumber sauce. Stopped here yesterday on our way to Wheeling because we have heard great reviews and I was getting hangry. We were quickly greeted and picked our own table. Between the four of us, we had the soup of the day which was chicken tortellini, side salads, steak wraps, bbq chicken wraps and a chicken salad. The portions were large and delicious. The chicken salad came with steak fries and breaded zucchini fries which were awesome! The wraps had homemade baked potato chips and a pickle spear. We went there for cheesesteaks. I asked to have american cheese on my sandwich instead of provolone. They charged extra for the cheese. Not sure why since I didnt ask for extra cheese. Just a different kind. Also they give homemade chips with their sandwiches. Some were hard and some were soggy. Not very good. read more

We were looking for a place to grab lunch in Wellsburg and came across the Station Grill. Its nice and clean on the inside, and we were seated right away. Its a large dining room and it never got full so I imagine tables are always available pretty quick, but it was early. The sandwiches were very good and the service was excellent. Sandwiches came with homemade chips that were delicious. I would have to believe that this is one of the best places for lunch in Wellsburg. read more

Went here earlier this evening after we realized that Drover's Inn wasn't open (another review for another day.) We got there just after 5 pm and there was no one in the dining room. In the approximate hour that we were there, only one other table (of 3) was seated and there was one (small) carryout order.) We hadn't been here in quite awhile and it seemed like they had revamped the menu. Their focus seems to be more toward burgers. Most of the lunch and dinner menus were simply chicken sandwiches, salads or entrees, with lunch having a few other sandwiches and dinner having steak, seafood and pasta. We had the half (baked) chicken, the pork chop special (parmesan pork), the nachos and a kid's pasta marinara. The half chicken was very good, the pork special was good, the nachos were okay and the pasta marinara seemed a little spicy for a kid's meal. The price of the kid's pasta was the only item we got that seemed priced appropriately. The other three seemed overpriced, ($14 & $15 for the chicken and pork, respectively and $9 for the nachos.) Will go back again, maybe not for a few months, though. read more
