I stopped into Wings Over Milwaukee after a night out with friends, and since they'd been here before, I was excited to give it a try. I thought it was pretty cool that the chain names each location after the city it's in. It's a fun little touch. My first impression was a little disappointing. They were out of quite a few menu items, including fries, bone-in wings, wraps, sandwiches, and Mac and Cheese, and a few other options. For a first visit, it wasn't the best start because I felt like I wasn't really getting the full experience. Since fries were unavailable, I asked if I could substitute extra chicken, but that wasn't an option because my order had already been entered. One of my friends was able to do it since they had asked before checking out, so just something to keep in mind if you're ordering. I ended up getting the 24-piece boneless wings ($24.99) with limited-time Bourbon BBQ, Cajun Voodoo Rub, and the new Sweet Carolina sauces, along with bleu cheese. My friends ordered the chicken tenders. The employee helping us was friendly enough and let me sample the sauces before deciding, which I really appreciated since the staff wasn't very familiar with describing any of the flavor profiles. The Bourbon BBQ was probably my favorite. It had a rich, smoky barbecue flavor with just enough bourbon sweetness to balance it out without tasting overly sugary. The Cajun Voodoo Rub definitely brought the heat. It starts with a little sweetness before the cayenne kicks in, giving it a nice balance of sweet, savory, and spicy. The Sweet Carolina was a top hit, it had a tangy mustard-forward flavor with a touch of sweetness and light smokiness. I enjoyed it, but if mustard isn't your thing, I'd probably skip this one because it's definitely the dominant flavor. The chicken itself was decent. It had a nice crispy coating and was tender, but I wouldn't say it was especially juicy. For me, the sauces really carried the meal and made it much more enjoyable. One small thing I appreciated was that the restroom was for employees only. I completely understood since it was later in the evening and they probably wanted to avoid issues after the bars let out. I asked politely, and the employee was kind enough to let me use it while we waited for our food. Overall, the staff was nice, but the service felt a little indifferent, and being out of so many menu items, and waiting quite a while for my wings made my first visit less enjoyable than I'd hoped. I'd probably give them another shot, but I'd order takeout next time instead of dining in. Hopefully I'll be able to experience more of the menu on a future visit. read more

Isn't the purpose of selecting a pickup time self explanatory? I will be honest, I have stumbled across this place for years and I never bookmarked it and had absolutely 0 interest in stopping over because it looks like a fast food restaurant. I originally wanted to try another place in the area but absolutely no parking any where around it so I found the first legal parking spot to park in and see what else in my bookmarks were close, I looked around me from my car and saw wings or hotdogs so wings won. The place is small with a few tables so take out was non stop and that's what I did. I got the 10 wings with two flavors, one Jamaican jerk and red alert. The bag was hefty I thought as I walked to my car. To my surprise the wings looked good and smelled amazing, big/meaty with plenty of sauce to rub the wings in. The red alert was first and it had a nice creamy/rich good buffalo flavor with a nice heat finish but not super hot and just right. The wings were meaty and cooled perfectly moist, not to dry like some places with plenty of sauce. The Jamaican jerk was very interesting because it was not like jerk chicken but sweet/savory with a subtle Smokey bbq finish which I really liked. Now I'm not going to say that this place dethroned my favorite wing place but the wings were pretty fuc#ing good. Good flavors, cooked perfect and big/meaty is good when it comes to wings. Two stars for the onion rings and the bbq sauce on the ribs. They won't win any awards, but compared to the ribs, they were at-least edible. Pork ribs are the worst I ever had and deserve no stars. Meat was way over cooked and horribly chewy. I couldn't tear the ribs apart with my hands. They made my teeth and jaws hurt so bad that I had to throw the ribs away. Every bite filled with flavour, I always call a place a pick up order and everyone over the phone is always nice. Fries were overly salty, but that's the only complaint I ever will have. Today I will break away and leave an angry review. This was my first introduction to Wings Over Milwaukee, and after receiving an attractive direct mail offer we were really looking forward to trying them out. We placed a $45 (w/tip to add insult to injury) online delivery order at 7:40 PM on 9/5/24 and were promised delivery by 8:29PM. I understand the strain some restaurants have had post-covid and I consider myself fairly patient, but 20 some minutes after the promised delivery time I checked their "Cartwheel" tracking link and it reiterated the 8:29PM delivery and read "steven v/Driver at pick-up" Well no one was answering the phone and there was no link to contact the driver nor the store. Then we checked a newly listed Google review that was posted a few minutes before by somwone who had just placed an order at 7:10 and was promised delivery by 7:58. The review mentioned something about a rude employee stating "there was a malfunction and they had to close down. I asked why no one called me and she told me very rudely they weren't allowed." I Needless to say the food never arrived and today next day we haven't heard from anyone. I am curious if the owner of this place will contact us with an explanation. It's telling that on their website where they tell their story there's a paragraph apologizing for past mistakes. These guys suck. We're expecting a full refund. read more

I ordered online, my order was accepted and my account was charged. I arrived and was told the store was out of wings. Cashier told me he would cancel my order but would take 24 hours for the money to be returned to my account. He then emailed me a receipt, and I was nervous because the receipt did not appear to reflect my order being canceled or money returned. It's three days later and I still have not gotten my money. On top of that, their customer service has not responded to any of my emails. As it stands Wings Over Milwaukee has essentially stolen from me. I ordered the 10-piece wings, half teriyaki and half garlic parmesan (dry rub). It took 29 minutes for what was very average quality. The wings themselves were very meaty, the dry rub was virtually tasteless, and the teriyaki was as expected... though the sauce was very runny and didn't stick well to the chicken. I didn't expect superior service from a fast food joint, but the nature of conversation among employees was highly inappropriate and even uncomfortable at times. I ordered delivery from Wings Over Milwaukee tonight. I got a southwest bbq chicken wrap combo with garlic parmesan waffle fries. They gave me the wrap with no bbq, making it incredibly dry. The "chicken" was fried scraps of flour that were hard, and there was barely any chicken at all. Completely inedible. The fries were not what I ordered, they were regular fries that were extremely soggy with no seasoning at all. As for the wings, the sauces were flavorful (that had copious amounts of sauce - which expected after reading reviews) but the skin on the chicken was so chewy & rubbery, the consistency almost made them impossible to eat. Lastly, my cherry coke was placed on a warm part of the container, so it was actually warmer than room temperature. Things that were wrong in my order: 1. Bbq chicken wrap with no sauce 2. Received soggy regular fries after paying extra for garlic parm waffle fries 3. Skin on chicken wings tasted like elastic rubber 4. The place is tiny so you shouldn't eat in it, lots of flavors but lots of changes all the time. Still have yet to find a place that serves wings specifically that can get rated five stars. But it won't be easy.) I have to say I'm pleased to see a dedicated chicken wing spot available for post-bar munchie action on Brady St. Too many places throw wings on their menu without giving this glorious item the attention to detail it deserves. My trip happened on a gloomy, Friday, autumn afternoon. I was very sober but hungry enough. Not knowing what size of chickens this place fries up, I elected to order a 1/2 pound of boneless as opposed to an order of 10 bone-in wings. The attentive counter person offered a choice of blue cheese or ranch. Also ordered was a regular-sized, garlic parmesan waffle fries for a grand total of $10.59. It was not suggested that I make my order a combo to add a can of soda. The wait of about six minutes happened in a smallish seating area. The tables are close together so expect to make new friends if you ever choose to dine there. The five chicken tenders were soggy wet with Jet Alert-level hot sauce, which is square in the middle of their hotness scale. I prefer some semblance of crunchiness in things breaded and fried, even if they're doused with liquid flavor. That said, the meat itself was tender and juicy, which makes sense I suppose. I ended up with a favorable impression of it overall thanks to its obvious freshness. The Jet Alert sauce had the right amount of kick to be enjoyable without taking away from the flavor, although it finished a little perfume-y. The fries were okay. They were not evenly seasoned with the garlic parmesan salt granules and had they been it would not have helped their cause much. I'm struggling to find the appropriate words to describe something so blah and mediocre as I write this. The accompanying blue cheese was whatever too. The listed ingredients started with soybean oil and ended with disodium guanylate, with high fructose corn syrup appearing somewhere in between. If you're serious about your dipping sauce, source it from elsewhere when you order from here. In my bag was the gift of a bottle opener, there to celebrate the Grand Opening of this place I think. I also got a flyer for 10% off an online order. It's likely I will claim this discount in the near future while in a much different state of mental and physical being that will elevate my experience of eating the not-quite-good food of Wings Over Milwaukee. read more

But I've never been disappointed in either the quality or service here, and that's saying something when you compare the other fast food/fast-casual options on Brady lol. This is a dangerous place to live down the street from. My roommate and I crave wings on the regular and we were stoked when wings over milwaukee opened just a block away. We have ordered from them many times and have tried almost all the flavors of sauce and dry rubs, sides and even salad. Their boneless wings are the best. They're like giant chicken fingers for adults! Plus they serve them by the half pound (very generously) you really get your money's worth there. The Texas Mesquite dry rub and the Honey BBQ sauce are my favorites with citrus chipotle as a close third. The crinkle cut fries and waffle fries are delicious. The onion rings were ok, I'll just stick to fries from now on. Their Caesar salad was surprisingly fresh and flavorful. I even saved it for lunch the next day and it was surprisingly still crunchy fresh. Ordering is easy and delivery is fast. The only drawback is their customer service. As a perpetual take-out orderer, I can't believe it's taken so long to get here. Very pleased! From walking in (no one at the front counter), was immediately spotted by kitchen staff who dropped what they were doing to greet and assist through entire process. Not a big deal to some but having years in service industry it was professional and appreciated. They double checked my order, successfully, as so by reaching in the cooler for the soda I ordered. Food has been great so far! My late bar shift tn me will appreciate the chix wrap. The boneless wings are top notch quality which I was slightly concerned at by the pictures but pleasantly surprised. Breading not too heavy, also not beer batter so I was thrilled, stays on the chicken, and even tho mango habanero sauce wasn't my favorite version, I knew the risk since they vary so much. They have over 20 flavors and you can add sauce or sprinkle to everything (tendies, wings, waffle fries, tater tots)-Think monster grilled lemon pepper chicken sandwiches! I've ordered here twice. Wings are a good size, there are lots of great flavors from which to choose, the price is reasonable, the delivery drivers are prompt and very nice. It's great to have a place open late at night! Delivery specific: the fries get soggy quickly because they're placed in the same package as the hot wings; so they steam while they're being delivered. I'm not sure there's a solution, other than maybe a separate box that has some vents? They usually get a quick ride in the air fryer when I receive them and all is well. Ordered 15 wings on DoorDash tonight. Honey bbq was 7/10 tastes like you would expect. Hot garlic was 7/10 kinda a Buffalo type taste with small pieces of garlic in the sauce.
