My friend suggested this place for dinner and it was delicious! We were seated pretty quick and given menus. Once we decided on what we would like to order, we headed to the kiosk at the front and ordered, then waited for our food to arrive at the table. Our server was very sweet and helped answer any questions we had about the paper menu vs the online menu. The restaurant was decorated nicely and simple. There were sittings by the door, throughout the walk way and booths towards the end of the restaurant. They had the whole menu displayed behind the counter and a few of the desserts as well. We ordered the appetizer platter; which allowed us to choose three apps two try. My friend and I chose the falafel, grape leaves, and baba ghonush (which is served with 8 triangle pieces of pita bread). I got the kofte special wrap and my friend got the beef kebab wrap. Everything we got was amazing! The wrap was also nicely toasted on the outside, which gave it such an amazing texture. I found this restaurant innovative. With light options and also full dinners, MC offers a full restaurant dining experience while also ordering at the counter, which I really liked. My friend & I went had dinner here before seeing "Hamilton" at the Marcus PC and it was delightful evening all around. The lentil soup was delicious and the wrap very good; I could have just had the soup as portions are very generous. My friend was happy with her Chicken Shawarma plate and she enjoyed everything on it, specially the salad. The service is nice and attentive. Super nice ladies! And the atmosphere is very nice. Ordered for delivery on Uber Eats and the food was amazing! The portion was super filling, the taste was great despite the delivery delay, and the price is reasonable. I've dined here or had carry-out three times, and the food and service have been consistently excellent! Yesterday I met a friend for lunch. He ordered a Vegan Kebab plate that he really enjoyed, and I ordered the Adana Kebab Plate with two large kebabs, house rice, grilled pita, side salad, and a stuffed grape leaf. It would have easily fed two people, and it was delicious! The veggies in the salad were very fresh and crisp! We also had a dessert that was like a combination of tiramisu and baklava from the dessert case. I don't see it in the menu, but describe it that way and they'll know what you mean. It is a MUST! We also enjoyed Turkish Tea and added a sugar cube for the right taste. On my prior visit, I ordered the Iskender, which is cooked in butter and served in a tomato sauce. I was missing the extra grilled pita bread but didn't realize until I checked the menu this morning that the hummus plate should have came with grilled pita. It is always frustrating when you order take out and you have a missing item. The extra pita was definitely needed. Overall I felt like the food was missing a lot of flavor. The food is delicious, the service not so much. Came in for lunch on a Monday. Some guy behind the counter eventually sauntered over to me and just glared at me like I was really creating an inconvenience for him. I did notice him working in several to go orders and there was only one other table occupied. I guess the Togo guys tried eating in once too. He took my order and swung the payment terminal around to me. I gave him cash which seemed to really throw him for a loop. Got a table placard and took a seat. When the food came out, it was picture perfect. More of a dinner portion than lunch, there were ample amounts of food. The chicken was really, really good, but the salad was a bit bland. This was such a rollercoaster experience. From the moment we ordered, the service was just... off, super rude, like we were being a bother. It made us feel super unwelcome. We ordered lamb rib chops (which were actually really good, my husband loved them), plus hummus, falafels, and feta cheese. The falafels were great, the cheese was fine... but the hummus? It was honestly one of the worst I've tried. And then there was the mix-up. They brought us French fries instead of hummus, and when we told the server, he got defensive. We told him that's what we ordered not French fries. He did bring the hummus eventually, but whole vibe just felt so cold and irritated, not what you want when you're trying to enjoy a nice meal. It was very warm outside (this was a warm fall day) and the AC was broken - so that it made it a bit uncomfortable, though we were seated next to the door. First time here. We were downtown for the theatre and this is just a block from the St. Kate Hotel. Super convenient if you have other plans in the area. The restaurant is relatively new. We made reservations for 6:00pm. When we got there we realized that you order and pay at the counter. Then the food gets brought to you. They did have several table that were reserved, and we got our choice, so we picked one closer to the back of the space. The full menu is online, or displayed behind the counter. There was a short line, but it went quickly. We ordered the special Lamb Chops and the Pita plate. With this setup you might get the impression that it will go quickly, but it doesn't (which is not a bad thing). In the meantime they bring you drinks to the table. As we were waiting for our foods, we noticed all the other orders going out to other tables. They all looked and smelled amazing. When ours came we were equally impressed. The Lamb Chops were as ordered, medium rare. The flavors were good, without being overpowering. The Greek Fries (skin on fries with fetat and a dipping sauce) were so yummy, it was hard to stop eating them all in one sitting. The Pita Plate was warm, flavorful, with large portions. We enjoyed everything, and there was plenty to take home for another day. We did have a little room left for some baklava. They offer two varieties, pistachio and walnut. Would have preferred pistachio but they were out. The walnut was good (not great). After the food came, that was the last we saw of our server. Yum! In Milwaukee for a volleyball tournament and we had a break in the action. Found Mediterranean Cuisine on Yelp and took a chance. It was no disappointment. My wife had the chicken shawarma pita and I had the chicken shawarma wrap. We both gave a satisfied sigh after our first bites. That satisfaction continued all the way through the meal and into the evening with more volleyball. The ingredients tasted fresh and the seasoning was right on. We also shared an order of the Greek fries with a side of garlic aioli....also delicious. We took some baklava with us .... I can't wait to taste it! That said, the quality and presentation of the food is what you would expect from a restaurant that offers table service. I thought I knew and loved Mediterranean food until I tried Mediterranean Cuisine. Clearly I've never had the best until now. I've been loyal to another local spot for years, but after a recent string of disappointing visits surrounding the flavor of staple items, I decided to branch out. And wow, I'm glad I did! Here's a breakdown. The good is 1-7. The bad/OK is 8. 1. Chicken Shawarma: Apparently, I've been living a lie because I guess I've never truly had chicken shawarma before. Ain't no way that was chicken shawarma that I've had in the past! Because how? How could the flavor be so tamed at other places?? This was hands down the best I've ever tasted! Look at my pics. Can you see that flavor? I mean, just look at the seasoning sprinkled on top! Someone took their job seriously in that kitchen and I thank you! It wasn't spicy at all! I don't tolerate much spice so you can trust me! 2. The Gyro: The meat was thinly sliced. Much thinner than what I'm used to but honestly, still delicious. It had great flavor and was nice and tender. 3. The Rice: I love a good rice dish and this rice was so seasoned and flavorful I could've eaten it by itself. 4. Side Salad: Fresh, simple, nothing fancy but exactly what you want when the rest of the plate is packed with bold, seasoned goodness. A refreshing bite to add on your pita to make a sandwich. 5. Pita and sauce: Both were decent. Pita was warm and sauce wasn't too thin. 6. Serving sizes: The entrees were served on a plate that's about 14 inches in diameter. It was a lot of food. The food was practically falling off the sides. No complaints at all! We had full to go boxes for lunch the next day! 7. Ambiance: If you're looking for a romantic date night spot, this probably isn't it. Mediterranean Cuisine gives more "quick lunch break" vibes than night out. It's a bright, clean, no-frills type of spot. You order at the counter, grab a table, and they bring the food out to you about 15-20 minutes later. It's a perfect spot if you want quality food without all the fuss or bill splitting for large parties. We saw several coworker groups coming in and everyone ordered individually. 8. Restroom: Not the worst, could be better. Pretty sure they share the restroom with other businesses in the building, so don't expect much. All in all, if you want bold, fresh, flavorful Mediterranean food without the fancy sit down experience, DJ, and belly dancers Mediterranean Cuisine's is perfect. Came here during off-peak hours around 3:30PM, and roughly half the tables were occupied. Atmosphere in the afternoon is really pleasant, music level is perfect and noise level is just the right level where you can still hear the people at your table but can't hear the next table. I love the wallpaper with the scenic overlook - the restaurant's atmosphere matches quite well. I ordered the combo plate, which includes the beef kebab, chicken shawarma, and Adana kebab. It also comes with pita, rice, grape leaves, and side salad. Separately, I ordered a side of baba ghonush. For the combo plate, let's start with the good. The Adana kebab was excellent. Very tender and the seasoning was well balanced. With the benefit of hindsight, I should have just ordered the Adana kebab plate. The side salad was also really good, the vegetables were fresh with the perfect amount of dressing, and it paired really well with the meat and the rest of the dish. The chicken shawarma was very unevenly seasoned though. Half the pieces of chicken would be overwhelmingly salty and the other half is fine. So while eating it, it felt like a coin flip whether it's a good piece or if I'd have to wash it down with water. Certain pieces were also on the dry side, but I suppose that's to be expected with grilled chicken. The beef kebab was seasoned well, but the beef itself was very tough. Every piece had fat and tendons that weren't rendered down yet, so biting down and chewing it was impossible. I ended up not being able to eat more than half a piece of beef kebab, despite trying each one. Baba ghonush was good, but not particularly notable one way or the other. Ambiance was beautiful, I especially love the murals on the wall. Service was fine, you order at the counter and they'll bring you the food. Neither factor into my review, the rating is just for the food. read more

What an awesome spot for Mediterranean eats! I love how they don't need an extravagant name to serve amazing food. A couple of friends and I have been watching this building since we saw a coming soon sign and we had the best time here! Delicious food and large portions! Order up front and enjoy a cup of tea while you wait for your food. I had the beef kebab plate and we all split the tabbouleh, greek fries, and mixed baklava plate. The beef kebab plate came with a little side salad, pita, and rice. The beef had a nice char and was so tender. I ended up getting two meals out of this. I enjoyed the greek fries (nothing special other than feta on top) and pistachio baklava but could have done without the tabbouleh (too much dill). The definition of mid. Turkish food is typically packed with flavors and we missed the mark on this one. I was a bit confused based on how everything was named not having doner on the menu as well, having Turkish coffee pots everywhere but not serving Turkish coffee. The wrap itself missed in that one bite you got a piping hot kabob (over cooked) and the next bite it was a cold salad. It felt like the two sides were literally separated by the wrap. Had dinner here before a show at the Pabst Theater. Don't snooze on this place. Between the generic name and the location I wasn't expecting too much even though the menu looked good. But Mediterranean Cuisine has great food and friendly service. The gyros are popular according to the website but there are lots of gyros in Milwaukee. I had the Adana kebab plate. All the plates have rice and salad and bread. I really enjoyed the salad with peppery greens and seasoned onions. The kebab itself was juicy and flavorful. I liked the stuffed grape leaf that accompanied my plate also. The atmosphere was brisk and casual but there were lots of conversations going on in the dining room. It's a great place for before or after an event. They seem to do a decent takeout business also. Next I want to try the Iskender kebab and the mezze. I've ordered food from Mediterranean Cuisine and recently visited with a friend. One of my favorite restaurants in the world is Turkish, so I had high expectations and experience with the food. I'll start by saying that I wish there were more Turkish specialties on the menu. I like Haydari and it was a good addition, but I also love Ezme, which is sadly missing. I'd also love to see some feta Cigara Boregi, but I'll have to wait. What dishes are on the menu are solid. I have tried the Vegan Kofte wrap and platter and they were excellent - a true treat for vegetarians and not something you see everywhere. Tabouleh is good, but needed a little more acid. The hummus was a little bland for my tastes. My friend tried the falafel wrap and liked it, but it needed more sauce for moisture. My BF liked his Adana kebab quite a lot. Everyone liked the Greek fries. Portions are generous and pricing is fair. Free bottled water is served in the restaurant, which is very nice. If you can get some pistachio cheesecake, do! It might not be Turkish, but it's light as a feather and not overly sweet. A nice light end to a meal. The interior is big, open and nicely done. There are a couple more private booths in the back, but they are right next to the door to the bathrooms. Ordering is done at the counter and then the food is brought out to you. I signed up for the loyalty program, but the person working said it's only good for ordering online, which is a loss. I'll always spend more on site. Decent new casual counter service downtown Mediterranean place. We came here a little early for dinner before a show. I had made a reservation which it turns out was completely unnecessary as the place was only about 1/4 full and they hadn't blocked off any tables to honor our reservation as it was seat yourself. We ordered from the cashier at the counter, which was a bit difficult as the cashier was an extreme low talker to the point of being completely inaudible. So much for any discussion about the menu, or anything else for that matter. We took our seats and had asked for some waters. The cashier person came out with two waters and instead of placing them on the table where a water glass would go, slammed them down on the table at the corner nearest him. Ok. We ordered a Shephard salad to share and the Chicken Shawarmas. The salad didn't come out and we were brought the shawarmas. They were quite tasty with a nicely seasoned chicken over rice, a small side salad and a small amount of a yogurt type sauce. A great dish. Turns out we didn't need the Shephard salad starter but a bit disappointing that they completely missed that item. I later got a refund for that item, the cashier couldn't handle this so the owner or manager stepped in. This place turns out decent food in a semi fast casual type setting. After spending the weekend moving to our new place, we decided to try a new Mediterranean spot. This one was something that popped up on my Apple Maps and we gave it a go. The inside was nice, not too loud and not so packed we had to wait for a table either. Service was friendly and did not take very long to order food. I was absolutely starving after moving boxes all day, so I had a hard time making up my mind on what to get. I ended up getting the chicken shawarma plate though. It came with chicken shawarma obvi! Pita bread, rice, salad and tzatziki sauce. The food portion was huge! The chicken was tender and juicy, the salad was a typical salad, and the pita was warm. Everything went well with the tzatziki sauce. I usually make everything into a Mediterranean taco--only to get one bite and have to scoop everything into my mouth with a pita and fork. As hungry I was--I couldn't eat everything! Thankfully I asked for a container to go so I could just eat the lunch for the next day. My friend and I went here for a low key dinner, and it was everything we were looking for. The restaurant itself is very cute inside. It is a walk up and order style restaurant and they bring the food to your table. All the staff were insanely friendly. We ordered the mixed plate which came with a koobideh style kabob, beef, and chicken. I was super pleasantly surprised by the chicken, I typically don't order this at Greek restaurants because it tends to be dry but the chicken here was the star for me. All three meats were very, very good and tender. It also came with pita, salad, and rice. We ordered a gyro as well which was also very good. For dessert we had the mixed baklava. We both preferred the walnut but the pistachio was also very good. The walnut seemed to be more of the wet style and the pistachio was drier.
