When I worked in Fullerton my coworkers and I enjoyed occasionally going to Wings Cafe for lunch. We would always end up in a booth by the window. It's fun to get to watch the activity at the airport. There are also always interesting patrons in the cafe too. We have tried an array of items from the menu and no one has ever complained about the food. Some of the standouts include their chili (on the omelte or the fries) and their sandwiches and melts. Parking is never an issue and the service has never been a problem. I think this is a great place to bring kids so they can enjoy watching the airplanes. read more

We came here for it's uniqueness and past memories we've made with our first two babies. But that was completely wrecked by a bunch of entitled boomers who told us that it "wasn't ok" and it "ruined" their lunch. The place was mostly people of that ilk. And we got the stare from a few of them too. Granted, our child was a bit excited and hence loud. But so was the other table with 3 little ones. We are obviously not of the right color. Now I have to wonder why they didn't address the other family. Food is pedestrian, nothing much to talk about other than being really over priced. Our waitress was great, though. Will not be going back. Neither will our friends, family and aquaintences. read more

Nice change of pace! Food is decent, service has always been great! The wait can be long but there is plenty to watch both inside and out. One thing I would suggest is to try and sit by the window at least once, especially if you are with kids. Fun to see the planes and helicopters take off and land, plus some maintenance to watch. You can see from any seat, but the window seat (obviously) is the best view. As you walk in, there is a video of air shows and other high flying activities from all around the nation. Interesting to watch. Plus on the walls you can read the history of the Fullerton Airport. This café stands on the property of the airport. The owner of the restaurant has his dad's war uniform on display, plus plane parts and gadgets to examine. A mini museum while you wait. There is almost always a little wait. The café is only open for breakfast and lunch, so it can get a bit crowded especially on the weekends... and doubly especially on a nice sunny day with perfect flying conditions! Now let's get down to it... the food. Basic café food; burgers, sandwiches, salads, omelets, beer, wine, pancakes. We've had a bit of both breakfast and lunch and haven't really been disappointed yet. Well, except for the French fries, we learned to skip those. Our favorite would be the burgers, great job on making them like a 50s diner, made just how you like 'em. Get them either with applesauce, fruit, or with potato chips, unless one day they find a better type of French fry. We fell in love with their bacon, so one of our equally favorite lunches is the Bacon Grilled Cheese. Comforty, cheesy, melty. Breakfasts are great too. I went out on a limb and tried the Ome-wich. This is a hamburger patty with American cheese, wrapped in an omelet and served between two buttered slices of sourdough bread. Pretty delicious, although if I get it again I'm asking for some bacon to be wedged in there too. It needed a little punch, but still pretty filling and tasty. $1.99 Mimosas. There's that. Applesauce, seriously folks, you NEED to have the applesauce on the side. Chunky and perfect! Like someone's grandma is back there peeling and pureeing! Our service has always been extremely wonderful! Helpful with our decision making and definitely wearing smiles and great attitudes. Go ahead and give it a shot, this place is worth checking out. They do not take reservations, so plan on a wait.... CHEERS!! read more

Went here yesterday, had a good experience. Came back, as it's rare I have a day off let alone two days in a row. Keep in mind, I came back for the safety of everyone with a grub hub order. As the host approached, he said is everyone signed in? I had been there for ten minutes politely, and said I have a Grubhub. He said we aren't processing those today. I said well I paid for it, and it was allowed to go through. In a knee jerk reaction, I said what do I do? I knew what to do, cancel it and pray I get my money back. Grub hub said maybe you'll get it back. I can see why the host didn't care for my response, but I was polite. He did a double take like I was dog crap, and walked away. I Said wow ok and left. Left to my own devices. Disappointed, and really hurt. read more

When we first knew abt this place 3 years ago, we liked this place and kept coming back every week or two. But the quality has been declining. Long wait, food was ok, a bit bland. Took a long time to get food. Customers get more ghetto, in fuzzy slippers, pj pants, they talked loud. Kids throw food and parents don't seem to care. We checked in at 11:45 am and left the place at 1:37pm. I had a burger and my husband had a club sandwich. Not worth 2 hours spent. Nice view of the airplanes. Hope things improve next time we come, if we come. read more

I wanted to like this place but....the food is just average and pedestrian. Service - was great Ambiance - was the best watching planes as this is right on the taxi-way of the Fullerton Airport. Food - Really just average, not bad, but average. Chili omelette was average, as was the other plates were the same, just average. Chili is something you can really do something to make is special and your own. This didn't seem to be the case. Add some onions, pour chili on top or something. Nice views, clean place with good service. I'd go back and try something else if not to just watch the planes. I want to root for them. read more

I come here often with my young son and wife, it's a great place to eat and enjoy the view of the planes and helicopters landing and taking off, meal portions are perfect and the staff is always friendly and making sure you are taken care of the steak and eggs is my go too with some coffee to kick start the day. read more

As a pilot, I hate to rate airport diners or anything dealing with airports in a negative way, especially at my home airport. The Wings Café is a really small diner with limited seating, meaning they cant possible overwhelm the kitchen or servers like many restaurants. But my first visit in many years sorta lived up to the reputation I remember and more. Prices are expensive; $2.75 fore a single slice of toast halved, ouch. I got a simple $11.25 veggie omelet with extra veggies for $1 more. And my friend got a different omelet with extra meat. How can that be any easier. Well they messed up both orders. neither had extra anything. While my friend accepted hers, I sent mine back only to wait an entire 20 minutes to get it sent out correctly with properly cooked crispy hash browns. But the return came with a fraction of quantity from previously and till no extra veggies. While the cook takes some blame here, the server screwed up on the order to begin with taking a lion share of the blame. Overall taste was blah. Manager removed some charges. Definitely one of the worst airport restaurants out there. Sad its at my airport. read more

What an awesome place to have breakfast and brunch. I saw this place on my friend's snapchat story and I just had to ask where this place was. Finally had the chance to stop by here and I became a fan. I love the atmosphere here. I got the waffle combo that came with 2 eggs and 2 sausages and got biscuit and gravy on the side. We didn't wait long and while you wait you look at the planes. The food tasted very delicious. The prices are pretty reasonable and The service was fast and friendly. I rather come here to eat than go to Dennys. They have a lot of parking and easy to get here. read more

What a disappointment. I would have given only one star, but I added a star because the service was great. The food on the other hand was not worth even one star. My husband and I went for breakfast, and I don't eat meat. All the egg breakfasts included meat, so I asked if I could substitute avocado for the meat. They said they could take $1.50 off for no bacon, but I would have to pay $3.99 for avocado. This makes no sense...a side of four pieces of bacon is $8.99, so each piece is $2.25. The breakfast included three pieces of bacon, so 3 x $2.25 would be $6.75, far less than the $3.99 for the avocado. On top of this, all their breakfast prices are incredibly high. Going out to breakfast is something we do frequently, and these prices we well above what we usually pay. We will not be going back. read more

Horrible right from the start!! 2 of the most blatantly rude waitresses I've EVER encountered! We were seated where our friend had sun in his eyes and asked the only happy waitress there if we could move the sun was to bright. Yes, no problem. We apologized to the short rude waited for dirtier the table from our move. She looked at the table mumbled and the her hands up. Clearly she was angry. Another party got seated at the table we had moved from. They asked to be moved due to the sun and they were told no. They left money on the table and left. The rude waitress told them they could now change tables. Too late they said and left! Initially when we arrived our friend told us she wouldn't seat him until all in the party arrived. I went in to get a table and that ride waited said how many in your party? I said 3. She said where are they? I said right there at the glass doors. She said I can't seat you until they are all in here! Very short and rude! This place has clearly gone down hill and needs to clean house on these 2 unhappy old women and get people who like people and their jobs. read more

Haven't been here in a couple of years. Thought we would surprise my husband for his belated birthday breakfast with our two kids who haven't been able to accompany us to the airport for breakfast since birth. To our surprise on a Saturday we arrived at 8:15 AM and were seated immediately with a great front row booth to the planes. The service was great the food was delicious. We saw a few planes land we saw a few planes load up for their journey. I definitely recommend taking the family here for breakfast. The kids had so much fun the very next day was the family day which happens every second Sunday of the month, My in-laws were watching the kids so they took them back to the airport to check out all the planes and they were so happy to show their grandparents where they sat and ate. Thank you so much we will be back sooner rather than later. read more

This is one of those local gems you almost hate to rave about cuz then everyone will come. But I just love Wings Cafe so much. We have been here a handful of times for lunch and have never had complaints. Food is fresh and tasty, I recommend lunch food over breakfast food. Sandwiches are huge, you easily could split a plate with a friend. Love the fries and the Mac salad. Servers are friendly and attentive. My 4 year old loves the cockpit set up at the window booths and "saving us" from disaster during lunch with all the flips and buttons. The fire department has practiced on site and it was so fun to watch. Planes, helicopters, the occasional train in the background. Little kids are in vehicles heaven. If there is someone out in the office they'll give the kids plastic spinner helicopter toys. *Check in with Yelp and get a free soda! read more

I found out about Wings Cafe through a word of mouth recommendation. We visited this morning for breakfast and found this little gem charming and the food delightful. I enjoyed my chili omelette and my wife enjoyed her waffle. It was crowed, but service was attentive and friendly. We watched a few planes take off and enjoyed exploring the interesting decor. Do you want to visit a small diner with a small town feel to it with great food? This is it. When you step inside, you feel like you're somewhere road tripping in the Midwest somewhere. It's located right near the Fullerton Airport air traffic control tower. You walk into what appears to be the lobby for the airport with a small area with historical information about the airport. We were seated right by one of the windows facing the landing strip. It was definitely a cool spot. You can see small cessnas taking off and landing as you enjoy your meal. The staff there is very friendly and personable. I ordered the tuna melt and fries with an orange juice. The tuna melt was pretty good. The tuna was slightly cold but it didn't bother me. The bread was toasted in all it's buttery goodness. The fries were really really good. I think that they actually use whole potatoes and dice them on the spot. Overall, this is a great place to come and have lunch or breakfast. It's cozy and the decor is really cool if you like airplanes. Parking is right outside in a private lot. My wife and I went on a Monday and had no issues with parking. I don't know how it is during peak hours on the weekend. I definitely recommend this place. read more

I love that the airport added a cafe. The interior of this cafe was amazing! There were little things that just made it so much cooler than your average diner. My husband and I sat right by the window and got to see planes take off during our meal. It was quite bright, so you may need to wear your sunglasses. Overall, food was good. I really want to try their pancakes next time! My husband got a sandwich, which came with fries. They were seriously SO good. Don't forget to check-in on Yelp and get a free drink/coffee! read more

This is a great American breakfast spot. The Service is always on point. The Ambiance with the Planes and window viewing for the kids and family is great. The Food, is always good, sausage Patty Eggs Benedict, Great for groups 2 to o 6 people. If u have a large group it's best to call as they will accommodate you as well. Love this place. read more

We arrived around 6pm on a Sunday evening and we were bummed that it was packed full inside. We decided to go have a drink upstairs, and then come back down later to see if it was any less busy. There must have been one big group who left because 30 minutes later, it was completely empty inside. There are a few wood tables outside of the entrance and several two seat tables along the outside of the side of the train, but for a first visit we definitely wanted to be inside. When you come inside at BXCR, there are two long green couches along each side that wrap around to the entrance to maximize available space. There are two steamer trunks on each side that serve as tables. We were surprised that all of the tables had a Yahtzee game on them, and we had a blast playing that while we enjoyed our drinks. If you happen to roll a Yahtzee, they give you a candle as a prize. There is good background music playing that fits the environment. There is some good décor with overhead baggage racks and international clocks on one wall, and gauges on the wall next to the bar. There are some small rectangular windows along the top of both sides, and some curtained windows on the right side which do let a little light in. When the main entrance door is opened before its dark outside, it does let quite a bit of light in and kills the ambience temporarily. I would recommend coming closer to or after sunset to not let any outside sunlight interfere with your experience. The drinks are made at the bar in the rear where there are several seats and a little standing room. It wasn't on the current menu, but I saw on a previous menu they had an Amaretto Sour so I started with that, and it did not disappoint. It was nice and frothy from an egg white and had Angostura bitters on top. My girlfriend started with the Calm Cruise which was great. It's basically a Pina Colada, but with an additional honeydew flavor in the background. For number two, I tried the C-League cocktail. The smokiness of Mezcal has grown on me lately if it is not the primary flavor, and in this drink it is at a nice level somewhere in the middle. The cucumber and cilantro are definitely present, along with a little heat from the ancho verde and a little sweetness from the Luxardo maraschino. This is a excellent easy-drinking tequila cocktail. Her number two was the Aviation which she enjoyed. Vince was our main bartender along with Sarah. They were very friendly and fun to chit-chat with while they were mixing up our drinks. This is definitely a cool place to check out, and we will definitely return.

I specifically mention that we are here for happy hour specials. There is only 1 other table occupied, otherwise it's empty. We wait over 20 minutes to place our order. 1 personal board supposed to be $10. Plus (2) panini's. Wait another 30+ minutes... get our food and that's it. No check in - no water refills. My son goes and gets the server for a box and to order another personal board. We wait another long period to get it. I go inside to taste some cheese. We add on something to our bill. It was $104... I do some quick math and assume the price is because of the cheese I added to the bill. I add a tip on the lowish side, because we didn't really get any "service" to be worth the $18 I added onto it. I get home to review the receipt... and was charged $20 for the personal boards + the add ons... I am so let down. I spent $130 and didn't get awesome service or the happy hour discount. I was expecting to pay $50-$60 ish, and this caught me off guard. I have learned my lesson and won't be going back. I added the pictures so yelp-er's can see portion sizes, of the personalized cheese board.

The bread was beautifully crunchy and the meat with all its toppings inside couldn't have been any better. For our drinks, we opted to do a tasting of whites and reds. The wines were selected by our host (if I recall) and remember enjoying them all. It was fun to taste not only different varietals, but wines from different parts of the world. I was especially excited to see they had a really great selection of wine bottles to purchase in their wine shop. I happened to see one of my favorite ones there. We ended up purchasing a sparkling wine bottle at the end of our experience to have with our thanksgiving meal the following day. The service was A+. Every interaction from when we first walked in the door, being seated, being provided food recommendations, was a great experience. The ambiance is perfectly casual with a slight elevatedness to it.
