It had been quite a while since we ate at Buffalo Wings and Rings. We had intended to go to another restaurant for spouse's birthday, but it was closed for maintenance. So we decided to go to Wings and Rings. Spouse had a free dessert in rewards, so it made the decision that much more appealing. We were quickly seated since it was mid afternoon and it wasn't busy. Was relatively quiet and made for a nice place to celebrate a birthday. Our server was quick to arrive and take drink orders. We also ordered the Buffalo Chicken Nachos. Not a fan of Buffalo sauce but we decided to give it a try. I will say I was impressed. The ranch helped cut the taste and it turned out quite tasty. It was only after it arrived that our server informed us that we could order it with any of their bbq sauces. Might give that a try next time. We ordered our entrees next. Spouse had the Korean Chicken Sandwich. The chicken is beer battered and comes with Korean sauce and Asian slaw. I ordered the BBQ Bacon Burger (formerly known as the Ringer Burger) which has smoked bacon, Sweet BBQ sauce, pickles, cheddar jack cheese and an onion ring on top of the burger. We both had potato wedges as our sides with some spicy bbq to dip the wedges in. Spouse absolutely loved the Korean Chicken Sandwich. I had a taste and it was really good. Would recommend it. The BBQ Bacon Burger was just as good as I remembered. Juicy, full of flavor and enormous. The wedges were perfect as well. We really enjoyed our visit there. Then... the birthday dessert came. Chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream covered with chocolate and caramel drizzle with whipped cream on the sides. I don't know how it's made... but... it tasted like a dry box mix cake that they tried to dress up with the ice cream and whipped cream. Wasn't remarkable. Not something that ruined the meal, per se. Just not something I would order again. Not a make or break thing. Al in all, we had a great experience and I look forward to going back! read more

It was a light and simple lunch, yet it was very tasty and perfect portion sizes for us. The Blueberry Chipotle BBQ sauce is DELICIOUS! My love enjoyed the Korean sauce on his. The broccoli was steamed perfectly too. Definitely would come again. read more

Brought customers here on a business trip , not many options to choose from at 8:30 pm in town. When we first arrived the server told us they had blown a breaker had no hot grill , thank goodness she came back minutes later and saved the day , the breakers were back on. Stopped here going through Portland Indiana. This town literally has no restaurants worth eating at. This was recommended, most likely because it a franchise restaurant. The staff is extremely rude, my husband ordered a beer and I ordered a Long Island, the waitress told us that she was informed by the bartender that we were allowed (1) drink only because she was ready to leave. what? If this was my establishment this bartender would not work here, restaurants make their money from the bar! Well needless to say we should have left but everything closes in that town when the street lights come on, like 1965! The food came out, heated from the microwave like yesterday's leftovers. Wings are small, tasteless, I actually think they may have already been served to another patron then served to us. Don't stop in Portland for food, keep driving to a much larger town. read more

Easily the best dining option that I could find in Portland. The locals called it a knock off of Buffalo Wild Wings. I think BWW could learn a thing or two from this business model. Boneless wings are some of the biggest I've ever had. When the waitress suggested 5 I ordered 10. I soon realized that she was right as it was a ton of food. Came here twice and had Kentucky Bourbon and Cajun dry rub. I was very satisfied. Bonus points for serving me when the place was meant to close at 8 for Labor Day. I felt a little bad about it, but the staff was very hospitable. Special shout out to my waitress that evening Sarah for the good suggestions and excellent service. This is a franchise. Based in Cincinnati I believe. Frankly, I love this concept [not for the norm either] and I look forward to this chain's expansion. We've been shopping for furniture at Habegger's in Berne, so we've made the trip through here several times now. This is our 3rd stop here. Very happy to report we like this place. All 3 times, we've had the cauliflower wings appetizer - twice I've ordered a 2nd. She's had the burger and when we've had family along - they've ordered the salads or burgers or wings. Everytime; service is solid, food delish, portions good. Can get a bit noisy if busy. Try something different! Do the cauliflower wings. read more

As soon as we walked in we were invited and the staff is sure nice. We sat down ordered and got amazing food, took awhile to get to our table but then again it was busy. I stayed at a holiday in express next to this place, so it was easiest access to a restaurant. I was very pleasantly surprised and had dinner there twice in one week. The first time I had the cob salad, it was wonderful. I normally have ranch dressing with mine, but they use an herb vinaigrette and it was delicious. Seemed homemade. The other meal I had was the portobello burger, it was a perfectly done hamburger and the flavor was amazing. I could smell the truffle oil and seasonings were perfect. Surprisingly good food from a local Buffalo Wild Wings rip off. Place is kind of a Buffalo Wild Wings/Red Robin/Hooter's fusion. Restaurant is L shaped, one side is strictly a restaurant, the other part of the L is the bar. Service was pretty quick as the waitress took our drink and appetizer order. For appetizers we had some chicken nuggets, buffalo shrimp and nacho's. Nacho's were good although pretty standard, buffalo shrimp lacked heat but there was a sauce dip to give it a bit of zip, chicken nuggets were pretty tasty as they used a corn meal batter which gave it a nice crunch. For the main course we had some wraps, flatbread sandwiches, burgers and I had the buffalo chicken salad. All were surprisingly good. I them make their "Atomic Chicken" for my salad. I sneered at it, "you call this hot? I call it baby food". I had no problem wolfing it all down. For dessert we had concoction that seemed like a tortilla that was stuffed with custard and deep fried and then dusted with powders sugar. It had a nice creamy taste thanks to the custard with just the right amount of sweetness. Even though this place tried to imitate some chain, the cooking was actually very interesting and quite good. It was pretty busy for a Thursday evening. We did get a booth right away, but it took a little while for our waitress to find us. Wanting to try something new, I ordered the Fish 'n Chips. This order took a little longer to come, but well worth the wait! Some of the best tasting fish I have ever had! It had a wonderfully crunchy crust and mild fish flavor! She was incredibly amicable and even when I asked if the mac n cheese was good, she gave a positive and genuine review, which solidified my decision to add it to my order. Upon arrival, Christina greeted me as if we had been friends for years. Her warm personality was refreshing. Thank you for making my heart smile. Oh, yeah... and the food was good, too! Grilled tenders can be difficult to find, but this establishment has them, they are delicious, and there's multiple dipping sauce choices. I should say up front that I am a vegetarian from Santa Cruz, CA and probably have no business being in a wings place, but it's also a sports bar and I can deal with that. I ended up there basically because it was the closest restaurant to the hotel where I was staying, and there aren't many other options in Portland, IN. I walked in and was asked if I wanted to sit in the bar or on the family side, and was told that the family side was pretty crazy. I looked in and only saw one or two tables of people, but then I realized that they must have been friends of the workers and they were partying in there. People were running around and running in and out the front door. I chose to sit in the bar. The bar had about four or five tables of people. They definitely weren't that busy. They had a bartender and a young waiter working in the bar. I was seated at a booth and started looking over the menu. I waited about 10 minutes for the waiter to come by. I ordered a Lynchberg Lemonade and the nachos without chili or onions. My drink eventually came. It was good - nothing fancy, but good. And then I waited, and waited, and waited. My drink was gone. I have never thought about dining and dashing before, but I was getting to that point. It had been about 40 minutes since I ordered nachos, in a place that was barely busy. Three tables had already finished and left. I started putting on my coat and sliding out of the booth when the waiter saw me and came by. He said that my nachos would be right up, and that he had no idea what was going on in the kitchen. He asked if I wanted another drink, and I said yes, if it was on the house, and he said that it was. That made me a little happier. I waited about ten minutes and FINALLY, some nachos appeared. The funny thing is, they were barely warm and the cheese wasn't even melted. It was pretty pathetic. I thought about sending them back for cooking, but thought that I might not see them again for another half hour, so I just ate cold nachos. I noticed that another table had to keep signaling the bartender for more beers, as no one was coming by to check on them. I just can't recommend this restaurant. I think that management is letting the kids run the place and they're doing a terrible job. The service and the kitchen weren't paying attention and didn't know what they were doing. Some training and oversight would go a long way in making this a better dining experience. read more

I agree with Yin Q - good food, great service. I had a chili cheese dog last night and then went back today for a gyro. Excellent menu and overall, much better than Buffalo Wild Wings. It's an okay place. The service tends to lack. I've been here a few times and its very hit and miss. Some trips the waiters have been prompt and great, other times you're lucky to get a refill during your stay.
