This is the first time I have reviewed a Chinese buffet. When I was younger, I used to love Chinese buffets. Then, I started enjoying them less and less. It finally got to a point when I would tel myself if I thought going to one was a good idea, don't do it. In the town of Bluffton though, the power was out in half of the town so my options were limited this evening. Coco ended being very enjoyable. The best entrees I had were the Honey and Pineapple Chicken, General Tso's, and the Hot and Spicy Chicken. The Honey chicken specifically was magnificent with it's tropical sweetness. The crab Rangoon, dumplings, and eggrolls were all solid. The Rangoons were especially noteworthy for their bigger than average size. Nothing was bad but I thought the Mongolian beef had too much grizzle to it. Service was very friendly! The lady at the counter asked where I was from and in my Southern Alabama accent, I told her Alabama! I asked if zi sounded different and she said yes. She asked if I would come again and I said it's possible. read more

I don't know what happened here...but there post Covid buffet is not very good. It's hard to describe what the food is now missing. But I will try based on my two post Covid visits. The pork dumpings are tough and chewy - perhaps over cooked or they are sitting too long. The crab & cheese dish lacks the old seafood zip, perhaps watered down. The food with fried dishes like General Taos, Pepper Chicken & Sweet Chicken have similar tastes but the fried pieces are tough and over fried. The soups taste similar but lack the same flair. I think the plastic spoon and Styrofoam bowl give the soup a plastic-chemical taste. The service is still good. The use of plastic utensils and styrofoam plastics makes the dinning experience sub par. Though...I commend the owners for trying to do something that is more Covid compatible. Overall...this just isn't the same Coco China Buffet that I really liked. read more

The food is pretty good, but it might have the worst value out of any place in Bluffton to eat. They are charging gourmet prices on buffet food. You can use COVID or inflation as an excuse, but when all of your competitors (comparable Asian buffets in the area) have managed to raise their prices to a much smaller degree, you just look greedy. read more

Ate there a few weeks ago. Bill was $27.00 for 2 dinners, I said I was paying half and my friend the other half. Was stupid and didn't get a receipt. Found out they charged both of us the $27.00. Totally our fault for not getting a receipt. Next time will be more careful. The food was very good. read more

Great staff and servers! Always friendly. Food is good - pretty standard Chinese buffet foods. Their take-out options are plentiful and have large quantities for the price. The food was ok. But when we got to the end of the meal. My wife looked at me. And said I'm done. I can't eat anymore. I had to ask her what's wrong. She pointed out to the counter. I've lived in Bluffton for 3 years and this has always been my favorite place in town to go sit down and eat!

Buffet is open. Customers are asked to wear masks and are provided plastic gloves when choosing food at buffet tables. Paper plates and plastic utensils provided to maintain clean area for all. 95% of customers were compliant with request. Nice to see business income getting back to pre-COVID range. read more

i'm from Huntington Indiana. I go to cocoas quite often. The food is always hot plentiful. The courtesy politeness cleanliness of the service that I receive when I go to cocoas is above and beyond very lovely people that owned a business. Also, the servers the atmosphere there is just calming and soothing why I sit there and enjoy my meal, the selection of food is phenomenal the dessert having the ice cream is a bonus I don't know what else to say about cocos. They are one of the best restaurants that I've ate at and I eat out quite often and thank you very much and I hope you go to cocoas and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere, the service and the food. Huge selection on the buffet. I was ordering off the menu so I just looked over the options before ordering. I told the lady I wanted a to get take out and she tried to give me a box to fill. I got Wonton soup and Crab rangoon. I was shocked to see her walk right up to the buffet to fill my order! Really - A girl can't get freshly prepared food that other people haven't breathed on? Needless to say I still ate it and liked it. Rangoon was sweet and didn't need the red dip stuff. Wonton were cooked and seasoned will. The broth could use a little more seasoning but it was still tasty. Would have been 4 stars if I didn't watch them pack it right from the buffet. read more

We've been going to this place since our local favorite closed. Food was good for a long time, until one time we went with our family and I found an earwig in the lo mein. I gave up eating there for quite some time, since then, we've gone back twice. Well, today, my wife got half of another earwig in her lo mein. The server didn't ask us how our food was, we waited 15 minutes for the check, and then when I didn't leave a tip the server was quite rude. Love this place! Whether it is take out or eating in, it is always good quality. The owners are super sweet, and remember nearly every face that walks through their doors. They always greet you graciously and take great care of you. Not to mention, there is rarely a time that this place is not busy! They buffet has a variety of options for everyone to choose from. From egg rolls, crab rangoons, hot and sour soup, Mongolian beef to black pepper chicken. There is a little something for everyone, even mac n' cheese for the kiddos! You have the ability to order from the menu, but this is a rarity for most customers. We ordered takeout from the menu: Mongolian Beef, Chicken w/ vegetables, vegetable fried rice, and Singapore Chow Mei Fun. Everything was delicious and hot. What I was most impressed with were the fresh vegetables! Broccoli, pea pods, onions, carrots, bok choy, water chestnuts--all fresh and good quality! Lot's of egg, too. I was shocked to find that there are no reviews written of Coco China Buffet. And maybe this is becasue people from Indiana aren't as up on yelping as they should be, but Coco China is my FAVORITE resteraunt. I moved to Chicago two years ago, and CoCo China is right under family on my reasons for visiting home. It's about 6 dollars for a lunch buffet and I think 8 for dinner. The food is phenomonal! Best crab rangoon I've ever had; their green beens are fantastic. Egg rolls are top notch. There's all sorts of chicken, shrimp, and beef dishes; I can always find something new to try. The donuts are amazing. For some reason, there is also an American buffet, but I've never felt the need to acknowlege it. After finishing plates and plates of food, there's also ice cream. I love that they have peppermint ice cream! I think last year, Coco moved to a nicer location across the street. It wasn't bad looking before, but now the place really looks super nice. The decor is so tasteful for a Chinese buffet, very serene. Lots of fish in the fish tank. The owner, Susan, has the best memory of anyone I've ever met. I can go 6 or 7 months without eating here, and she'll still come over and say hello, picking up conversations as if I was just there yesterday. This is truley a great establishment. In a city like Bluffton with not a lot (okay, no) tourist draw, its mostly locals and regulars who eat here, but I highly recomend anyone stop by if they get the chance. read more

This is a very good buffet and the food is amazing. There is a large selection of food and the staff is very attentive to you. They always know when you need more drinks and they never leave your place a mess. I went in alittle after 2 o'clock with a big appetite was seated and given a drink very quickly. The buffet had a great selection and tasted great. I ate several plates full. I grunted, belched and farted as I pushed food down my throat and they kept bringing me drinks. I began to receive a sharp pain in my stomach after 6 plates and my girlfriend started crying and told me to stop then the ride was over. We have had take-out from here previously but today was not a good experience. When we went to pick up the food, no employees seemed to want to service us. Three different employees saw us waiting but no one seemed to want to take care of us. Employees working the dining room took care of those dining-in but no one was taking care of the carry-out side. The food was not great either General Tso Chicken had no kick to it at all, Mongolian Beef was so-so, the Beef-Broccoli was very bland, slimy, and greasy, and the chicken wing appetizers (which my husband has raved about in the past) were very greasy as well. The beef in both dishes appeared as though it was boiled. Not very warm either - was it just pulled off of the buffet? I guess we will stick with the China Wok in Ossian or head to Waynedale for, our favorite, China Palace. read more

This is your typical Chinese buffet. The food is hot but basically all tastes the same. I've never ordered from the menu so maybe that is the way to go, however, I did see a waitress filling a to-go container from the buffet and sacking it up for a carry out order so maybe not.
