I recently came back and realized this place is now called Space City Bites instead of Wings 87. Apparently, there's new management, which explains the changes. I noticed they now advertise 50 flavors, and the specials have changed as well. Unfortunately, just my luck, my usual flavor, Spicy Lemon Pepper BBQ, is no longer on the menu. I decided to try Spicy Lemon Pepper Honey instead, and it was actually really good. I'd definitely order that flavor again. My friend ordered the same flavor, but her order only came out as regular Spicy Lemon Pepper, so she was understandably disappointed with that mix-up. I also ordered two separate 6-count wing orders ($10.99 each) and was only given one ranch sauce. Mind you, these weren't part of a wing special. If I had ordered a 12-count with two flavors, I would've understood, but ordering two separate 6-counts made me assume we'd each get our own sauce. Maybe I should've been more specific, but honestly, I didn't think that would be necessary. The other odd part of the experience was requesting the wings to be fried hard. The cook came out from the back three separate times to confirm that's what I wanted and kept emphasizing that it would take 20 minutes. I was a little confused because, yes, that's exactly how I ordered them, and I was perfectly fine waiting since I'm paying for the food. I even asked how long they normally cook them because all the repeated confirmations started making me concerned. The reason I requested them fried hard in the first place was because during a previous visit, the wings were soft and borderline undercooked. Overall, the wings were good this time around, but the multiple service hiccups made the experience a little frustrating. I'd probably come back, but maybe on a Wednesday for the .99 special because there are other places in Houston with better wing deals at this price point. The food has potential, especially with all the flavor options, but consistency and attention to detail could definitely be improved.

I have to admit I was a little overwhelmed by the amount of wing flavors they offer here. There are a lot of options on the menu and it honestly took me a minute to decide. I'm a pretty big wing fan, so I was excited to try this place out. They have a list of their top flavors posted right in front of where you order, which made it a little easier to narrow things down. I ended up picking two from that list. I went with the garlic parmesan wings and the lemon pepper buffalo since those seemed to be two of the more favored options. I was slightly disappointed because with the amount of flavors they have, the sauces and rubs were good, but the wings themselves were not cooked crispy. They were a little on the softer side and slightly undercooked for my taste, which is why I ended up deducting a star. If the wings had been fried a bit longer and had that crispy bite, this probably would have easily been a five-star experience for me. I ordered inside and the customer service was really good. The staff was friendly and my food came out pretty quickly, which I appreciated. Flavor-wise everything was solid, so the potential is definitely there. I also snapped a picture of the menu because they run different specials throughout the week. Unfortunately I came on the weekend, so I wasn't able to take advantage of any of the weekday deals. The wings are a little pricey, but honestly that seems to be the going rate for wings these days. If I come back, I would probably just ask for the wings and fries to be cooked a little longer so they come out crispier. I'd also be curious to try more of the flavors since they have so many. I may stop by on their $0.87 wing day just to sample a few more and give them another shot. Overall, not bad

These are easily the most delicious wings I've had in a LONG time. 87 flavors is ridiculous but I want to try them ALL. I didn't catch the name of the gentleman at the front but he was super easy going, professional and patient with us while we decided why to get since it was our first time. The inside reminded me of a place in Austin where there's signatures from everyone who's visited on the inside, it's small and not a lot of place to sit there's like 5 seats but it's still chill to eat there if you fit, will absolutely be back!

They truly live up to their name... trying to figure out which flavor to get out of their 87 offerings was a struggle! I ultimately opted for the garlic mango habanero with waffle fries. The wings were cooked very well. Super juicy on the inside. The mango habanero sauce was tasty, but it was a bit too sweet. I didn't get much habanero heat. The garlic was a nice touch though. The waffle fries were very crispy and had a good seasoning. My eyes are on their garlic buffalo sauce for next time.

Crispy chicken sandwich - 8/10 Mozzarella sticks - 9/10 Buffalo chicken loaded fries - 9/10 Honey lemon pepper wings - 9/10 Lemon pepper - 7/10 Garlic mango habanero - 8/10 Sweet chili - 9/10 Buffalo minc garlic - 9/10 Bbq - 8.5/10 Yes thats right, Wings87 actually has 87 flavors and theyre ALL halal My favorites were the sweet chilli and honey lemon pepper wings All the wings had a lot of flavor and were juicy. I also loved the loaded fries which they recently added to their menu! They have different spice options for most of their flavors, so theres an option for anyone! Definitely check them out if youre in the area!

We ordered wings for takeout. They were super nice and helpful on the phone and the order was ready in about 25 minutes. The wings were large in size, and were a bit variable - some were more juicy and some were a bit dry. The boneless ones had an amazing garlic parmesan sauce, but was a bit tough. The buffalo sauce is a bit more of an oil-based sauce, which brings some nice heat, and is different than a typical buffalo sauce.

Great workers and fast to get my food would recommend if it's your first time and they have a lot of selections of different foods

Very bland chicken wings honey Bbq and buffalo garlic...

I tried this place for the first time and was disappointed, especially after reading great reviews. My husband and I ordered honey BBQ wings and Buffalo garlic wings, respectively, and asked for them to be extra crispy. Although the wings were juicy and fresh, they lacked flavor and crispiness, which was a letdown. I wish I had opted for Popeyes instead.

My cousin and I saw this place on yelp because we were wanting wings and definitely not from a big-box place. The fact that they have 87 wing flavors (sauces/rubs/dry-seasonings) is AMAZING so there's going to be something for everyone. If you order 14+ wings then you can split up the flavor choices to mix it up. The waffle fries were fresh and amazing too - probably the best I've ever had. It is a small mom & pop place so there's a few bar top seats for you to sit at but I think the AC unit was out so they had an oscillating fan facing the register but not enough air circulation to keep the waiting area cool. (I'm guessing) the owner took our order and she was super sweet and patient as we stared at the list of flavors trying to decide what to get. She let us know it would be about 10ish minutes for everything to be ready - once it was, we hopped back in the truck and enjoyed them in the parking lot.

It wouldn't be a flavor for everyone, but to me, it was a perfect ending to a great entree as it was light and mildly sweet. Note that not all food options are halal. One thing we really appreciated was the toppings bar, which included pickles, onions, pickled onions, jalapeños, and two different barbecue sauces so you could customize each bite. They even had a mini soft-serve ice cream machine for a little dessert after your meal, which was a nice touch. They also offer family meal options, making it a great choice for larger groups. The reception area was small and almost claustrophobic, but very ornate. There were a few chairs for you to wait. We didn't wait long, probably less than a minute. As the hostess lead us into the main dinning area, I was shocked on how big the place was (it reminding me of the big meat market restaurants in NYC). The first room was bright from the outside sunlight, almost like an outside cafe. Our table was in a different area, where it was a little darker and decorated a lot differently from the previous room. As I looked around, there were other sections at this restaurant that kind of represented different places. The section we sat in had a very long table...which I'm guessing can host a very big family or corporate party. It sat right next to the open kitchen. Our waitress, Yaretzy, was very nice. She explained how the owners traveled to the different states of India and want to share that experience at Musaafer. Yaretzy would provide an explanation for each dish. Some of them were mixed/put together table side. Everything was delicious, and not too spicy. Musaafer is fine dining, so it's not something we can do ever weekend. But we will be back. Getting here was a little tricky if you are not familiar with the area. The restaurant is located in the Galleria. The entrance to Musaafer is on the first floor inside the mall, down the hallway closest to Saks Fifth Ave on the right (if facing Saks). You will need to take the private elevator to the second floor or walk up the stairs. There is valet parking if you prefer to do that. I think there is a small parking lot in front of the restaurant that might be free, but we went into the underground Purple garage. If you park right after going down the ramp into the Purple garage, you will see an elevator into Saks Fifth Ave, which you take up and walk outside with a short walk to Musaafer. The only problem with what we did was when Saks closes, we couldn't take that elevator back down. There were stairs back down to the purple garage, but it stank! There had to be another elevator that will take you into the mall.

I'm always happy to discover a good restaurant recommendation, and this one definitely did not disappoint. They had someone out front handing out samples of their Jollof rice, curry sauce, and stewed plantains, which were part of their Golden Bowl. I'm not a big plantain person, so I initially asked for mine without them. But, I decided to give them a try anyway, both with and without them. I'm glad I did because the plantains actually added a really nice balance to the dish. The combination of the rice, curry, and plantains was mostly savory with just a hint of sweetness. Hands down, this was my favorite dish. I also have to give a shout out to the woman out front handling the samples. I spoke with her the most, and she did a really good job of selling the restaurant. We ain't in Queens anymore…read more For years, I've eaten on Shah's all around the borough, initially out in Ozone Park and Briarwood before finding a real audience in Sunnyside. Now that they've sufficiently blown up around NYC, I was a bit shocked (and excited) to see them finally come to H-Town. What's the verdict? It's good enough to pass muster for NY standards (#1), is open super late, and will likely be my go-to Halal food for the foreseeable future. Since I've only had it in cart form, I'm still a buggin over the fact it's become a franchise. It's similar to my shock of eating Halal Guys at a store for the first time. The digs feel as foreign (prices, large, clean and bright interior) as it does familiar (taste, logo, etc.). Even though I had a laugh seeing the wall photo-mural of a Shah's cart in Times Square, I did appreciate the nod to Ozone Park with the 121st & Liberty street signs. The chicken + lamb combo platter ($12) is and always will be the winner. The lamb had the same kind of seasoning that most Halal spots out here try to replicate but can never get right. The rice was fluffy, and the white sauce was easily the highlight. I can understand why they've decided to bottle it up and sell it as liquid gold. It makes every meal better. Kofta ($12) and chapli ($13) are rarely my favorites, but I knew I had both in platter form. The addition of adding chickpeas and these other salads is not something I'm used to from the carts (#2) but I loved the fact it was drowned in the white sauce with a dash of hot sauce. The latter is supposedly extremely hot, but I didn't find it that spicy. While I have to say the cheeseburger was a bit of a disappointment (overly bready, thin patty), the pakora chips and french fries were fabulous. They were perfectly seasoned, had a nice crisp, and frankly would be an excellent, gut-busting addition to any platter. I don't love the extra charge, but I hope they remain consistent with it. This store location in Westchase along Westheimer is an up and coming part of town. There are numerous Middle Eastern businesses in the adjacent area, along with an abundance of parking spots and a good amount of late night activity. Service was friendly but I do hope they keep their standards up. As time goes on, I'm 100% convinced this will be a destination for the many late night meal seekers and fans of NY nostaligia. __________ (#1) Which automatically supersedes a lot of the ones here in Houston. Just keeping it real. (#2) Is the chickpeas a Houston thing? Genuinely curious.

She emphasizes few ingredients that complement and highlight each other. Above all else is technique. The knowledge to know which vegetables are in season, the perfect time to poach fish, infusing oil with the correct about of peppercorns and aromatics takes years of practice. What I find surprising is how Mala Sichuan Bistro scaled out their restaurants with the same quality, crispiness, and consistency across all locations. The MKT location has the most beautiful interior, which is why I choose to go there. If Mala told you the crispy chicken seasoning was only 4-5 ingredients, would you believe it? Chinese cooking is about letting one ingredient shine in the spotlight with the supporting actors complement one another. My love for cooking started with the spicy crispy chicken. The crunch, the numbing from the peppercorns, the push and pull between sweet and salty. The oil to fry the chicken and the oil to dress the chicken afterwards creates a masterpiece that I have not been able to replicate at home nor have I found any other restaurant in America with the same caliber. The dry pot fish melts in your mouth with its delicate batter. The lotus root is crunchy while the cauliflower soaks up the delicious sauce. Compared to the water boiled fish, this dish is my new favorite coming into here. For the avid regulars of Mala Sichuan, I challenge you - Order something a little out of your comfort zone every time you come. Trust that the chefs have years of knowledge and the sample size for refining dishes almost 4x ours. They have high chairs if you bring a little one. Overtime, we've tried a lot of their menu, and our favorites are the mapo tofu (my husband's favorite), spicy and crispy chicken (although I wouldn't mind more mala), cumin lamb, sautéed seasonal vegetable, mala tofu pudding with fish fillet, fish cube with string bean bits, and eggplant in spicy garlic sauce. My toddler loves the food here and eats the fish cube with bean dish and seasonal vegetables, which are both not spicy. I would skip the Dan Dan noodles and anything with the "red oil," which are on the greasy side and less flavorful. The crab meat and asparagus soup was also lackluster and tasted like the base is from a ready made packet. The chestnut chicken stew was salty. If craving dry pot, I would opt for somewhere in Chinatown instead. We haven't had their drinks and never have room to try their desserts, although their crepe cakes always look so good. This is a solid choice if you are in the M-K-T area!
