    Shareable fried oreos.

I want to say that I absolutely love this place, and order at least once a week from the Johnson drive mission location. The Mac and cheese and cornbread bites are fantastic, and my food usually comes out hot and fresh. However, I've recently had some issues with the fried Oreos, and I'm hoping this review reaches store staff and they can up their cooking times or something. I've been ordering these over a year now and they are one of my favorite things. I seriously order atleast once a week. They've been amazing. But the last 5 or so times they have been getting more and more raw. I kept hoping it was just a fluke or maybe someone took them out too early. But now I'm thinking someone's doing something wrong and it's impossible to get a good order of them anymore. It worries me that if they send the Oreos out raw, I'm not going to be so sure about the chicken anymore. :( it's also impossible to request a refund when you order through the app for delivery and I don't wanna drive up to complain every single time. Please fix the cooking times!

Don't be fooled by the chicken out front, 'cuz Wing Stand by Jefferson's is slinging more than just the bird! Downtown Mission has seen so many changes in the past decade and Wing Stand is another great addition. Ordering is quick & easy, whether you are staying in the small dining area or getting your order to go. Your choice is handmade to order, dipped or breaded, and prepared pretty much right in front of you. I'd suggest the Double Dipped, fried twice and drizzled with their housemade ranch and pair that with a side. The fried pickles are also worth a look, hand-breaded chips fried up right and served with a sauce choice. Parking ain't bad, but downtown Mission can get some traffic with the options coming in. Wing Stand is one of those options and darn well worth your time and visit.

Food is decent, but nothing special. The wait is brutal. Waited 35 minutes AFTER our online order pickup time for our food.

One thing that I love about this place is that they have a kiosk to order from. I love being able…read moreto scroll through a menu, especially when it's a new place with a lot to choose from. I found that very convenient and much more relaxed than ordering at a counter with a line behind you. We ordered the wing portion of Soy Garlic Chicken and Pork Dumplings. I have never had wings like this before. They were breaded, and just the right amount of saucy. I liked having disposable gloves as an option to handle them, that is a game changer for me. They were very sweet, which I am not the biggest fan of. They did have a decent amount of heat, which I was warned about from other reviews. It was the perfect level of heat for me, I don't know if I would try their spicy version. I thought the Pork Dumplings were the star of the meal. They were large in size and cooked perfectly. They had just the right amount of crunch and filling. The sauce that came with it was also on the sweeter side.

So like Joe K said, it's great to see more Korean chicken places in the Kansas City area. (S)KFC is…read moreamazing - the crispness of the chicken, the fantastic sauces. It's special. I'm excited just thinking about it. But oh man was I hoping for better. And I think this place could get there, if they can change some things. Joyce and Brandy laid it out well, so I'll just echo some main points: - The food could be better. Apparently it has been before. What I saw felt pretty low effort, the crispiness wasn't there. (South) Korean Fried Chicken is amazing because even with those delicious sauces, the chicken stays crispy. Best of both worlds! These wings were soggy. I didn't feel great after eating the meal. It wasn't ideal. - The service was nonexistent. I came up to the human at the counter, who directed me not to talk to her but to put in my order on the screen to the side. I hate these. I hate them so much. The UX on the terminal was clunky, the navigation in particular was so bad that there were whole sections of the menu that seemed to be missing. I now know to swipe left on the headers to scroll right to a second page of root-level categories, but be honest, just reading that in a sentence is confusing and annoying. Some people may like kiosks. That's fine! But mandating them is awkward and obnoxious. - I'm still on the service. There's a big menu. There are paper menus. There are little signs advertising fun looking items. I already know what I want. It is so much easier and more enjoyable to order with a real human and get their help. Why put the added friction of learning a clunky interface? An employee would be fluent in the system even if it's bad. And if my case is any indication, it's not helping their sales. I would totally have ordered more dishes if I'd known that was an option. It just looked like they were out so it wasn't available. - After putting in the order, I was prompted for a tip for the service. Which just felt like a coup de grace to my psyche. - It felt like there was no heart here. That's probably an ownership issue. I'm sympathetic to a point, it's not easy in general and there's a lot of pressure to cut costs (especially with the tariff arsonist disrupting supply chains). But the vibe here was dismal, you could feel it in the food and the staff. The space itself seems set up well to have large groups and good times. Could be a fun spot. But right now, the impression I get is that aside from the wings the kitchen does a lot of prepackaged instant food. So I'm not sure what they're trying to be - a decent wing place, or more of a fast-food/gas station type of spot. A vending machine with a deep fryer. Like I said before, this place has potential to be great if they can change some things. They're just going to have to want to. I'm rooting for them.

Opted for the corndog nuggets and the tater tots (superior fried potato food) to share with "my girl". We also had beers. There was a pretty good selection for me to choose from on tap, and Katie was able to pick up an NA beer for her to drink. It was a great little lunch. The service takes a bit of a hit on this one. Just a lack of urgency for the staff seems to have an unbalanced cadence. Quick to take the order. Slow to deliver drinks. Quick to deliver food. Quick to check back. Slow to check back again for the check. Slow to process the check. I am not sure if this is a training issue, as many of the staff are young. That said. Other than the cadence, the staff is extremely nice and helpful. This is an old wooden bar. The entire place reeks of the old wood pool hall and is so much fun to just be in. I will be back. Another quick stop likely.

The nostalgia hit me the moment I walked in, it genuinely felt like I was back in Korea, enjoying fried chicken with a cold beer in chilled glasses. From the atmosphere to the food and overall quality, everything felt authentic. We started with the onion rings ($8) with some beer and Diet Coke, followed by 10 garlic soy spicy wings ($12+) and the spicy pork rice topped with a fried egg ($16). The onion rings were perfectly fried, soooooo crispy, perfectly seasoned, and a great way to start the meal. The wings were outstanding and EXACTLY HOW TO GET THEM IN SEOUL: crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and coated in a flavorful garlic soy sauce with just the right amount of heat. The spicy pork rice was rich, savory, and packed with umami and the salad which came with it was extremely refreshing. It didn't taste overly spicy while I was eating it, but I noticed the heat afterward, lol. Overall, it was a great and satisfying meal. The service was excellent, and our server was incredibly kind. She patiently offered thoughtful recommendations, gave us plenty of time to decide, and kept the restaurant clean / managed it while we decided the order. If you are craving authentic Korean fried chicken and spicy bold, umami-packed flavors, this place is absolutely worth a visit.

Ordered the signature 10 piece wings - sweet chili & soy garlic. I thought there was a bit too much sweetness and much chili, but overall the crunch was nice and the chicken was super juicy! Got an avocado salad which was said to have arugula but was a basic lettuce tomato onion salad that wasn't too appetizing. Tried the honey mustard but it was too sweet. Got a teobokki to fill my belly. Ordered spice level 2 since the sweet chili was spice level 1 and not much spice noticed, but the spice level 2 was pretty spicy. The rice cakes were soft and chewy - tasty!
