However, my excitement quickly turned into a significant concern. As I started to enjoy the meal, I was pretty shocked to discover that several of the chicken tenders were completely raw inside. I counted four distinct pieces. As you can imagine, finding raw poultry is quite alarming, and out of concern for food safety, I had no choice but to discard the entire box of tenders. Naturally, I felt it was important to let the Hanover Park location know what had happened right away. I called them, and after explaining the situation, the person I spoke with suggested I bring the food back. When I politely asked if I could speak with a manager to discuss the issue further, she unfortunately ended the call abruptly. That was a bit frustrating, to say the least. Following that, I decided to email Popeyes customer service directly to explain everything. I received a response the next day offering a partial refund of around $7. While I appreciate the gesture, I replied back to clarify that we had only been able to eat the sides the Mac & Cheese, biscuits, and fries and had to throw out all the tenders. I was hoping for a more comprehensive refund for the uneaten chicken or perhaps a credit. The resolution offered after that was 600 points on the app, which, honestly, doesn't even cover the cost of a few tenders. It felt a bit like a joke after spending my money on a meal that was mostly inedible and potentially unsafe. It's genuinely disheartening to have spent my hard earned money on a meal that couldn't be enjoyed due to a serious quality issue.
