    Good dim sum great price. The ladies don't speak great English. The girl kept telling me what else she didn't give me what I pointed to. It suddenly got busy when I went in the store. Just make sure yo communicate what you want and it will be OK

    Convenient and easy. We were on our way through town and unfortunately our usual dim sum pickup was closed for some reason. Some quick google and Yelp searching on route brought us here which was a short trip outside the beaten path. The parking leaves a bit to be desired but it is SF after all. We stopped by the BBQ as well as the bakery since they were right next to each other and both were quick once we got to the window. We were able to pick up a couple of plates as well as some dim sum to go. Staples from dim sum were turnip cakes, taro dumplings, jook, and wrapped sticky rice. No egg custard tho unfortunately. We also grabbed plates from next door for good measure. Everything was cooked well, flavors hit the mark, and we were able to do recovery the rest of the weekend. Added on my list for inexpensive pickups in the city.

    I got a baked bbq pork bun and really enjoyed it. The bread was slightly sweet and the filling was very flavorful and one of the most red fillings I've had. It cost $2.40, which is middle of the road compared to other places I've been. They are cash only and have seating so you can eat there or take the food to go.

    Came here as a stop on a dim sum crawl through Inner Richmond- this spot was definitely one of the highlights! Got the bean curd rolls (had noodles, veggies, including baby corn inside), har gow (probably the best on this street I've had), and the chicken skewer (might have been the best thing we ate this day- 100% coming back for this). The chicken thigh was extremely tender and crispy on the outside, and spiced with five spice, etc resulting in a lot of flavor. Like many spots in this area, you wait in line then order at the counter, and there are some tables inside you can eat at if you want which is nice. In addition to the amazing quality and flavors of the food here, the prices are super reasonable!

    I was on a hunt for joong and in the past, really liked their din sum. They sold out of regular ones and only had the green bean ones. The filling was scanty and it tasted bland, even tho it was a good size. I think the green bean joongs are better at Good Mong Kok in Chinatown. Pictured on right is the green bean joong. The left is the regular peanut pork one from Wing Lee down the street. The pork siu mai here is very good tho, got an order of the siu mai which comes with 3 pieces.

    Been going here forever!!! Why spend huge bucks on mediocrity when you can cop a squat and chow on the best informal inexpensive dim sum on Clement!

    Anytime I see a line it peaks my interest to know more. So, even tho we had just ate lunch, I joyfully jumped in line to get a sampling assortment for later. And since "Good Luck" down the street was closed, this place looked like one of the most happening places on the block! Absolutely delighted with the vegetarian bean curd roll. They were plump and tasty. Think of them as a wrapped pocket of monks jai. Not as impressed with the other two items bought today. The skin on the shrimp dumpling har gao was very thick. Filling lacking taste. The potstickers also had a thick skin. Filling consisted of pork and vegetables and while not the best, they were tasty. Would order again. Will be back to try other items from this take out place.

    Wing Lee is a regular stop for us in the Richmond. We picked up 3 steamed chicken buns, 3 bbq pork buns, 4 potstickers and 3 sesame balls - all for 20$. I usually go by 10am to avoid lines. Street parking is metered and fills up quickly. They are cash only and takeout only. The menu is straightforward, and the women working there are always nice and helpful. Per my dad's (SF native) definitive ranking of Richmond takeout dim sum spots: "Wing Lee: best dai bao Cherry Blossoms: best baked BBQ pork buns Good Luck: best everything else"

    Quality/Quantity - In their defense, we got here late afternoon on Father's Day Holiday and as expected, there were slim pickings. Good thing my guest is not too picky. Got a bunch of dim sum and some porridge. Atmosphere - Small, a mainly to-go place. A few tables and seating. Open 7 days a week from 8am to 7pm. Metered street parking, good luck. Service - Good. Price - $30, I guess that is the going rate for what we got. Clement Street is fairly competitive, so I am assuming the prices reflect that...? I honestly did not even look at the prices, because if you are following, we just did a 7 hour drive from Reno back to the Bay. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success for what I believe 20+ years.

    B.b.q. Pork Bun has pieces of burnt pork from burnt pot. Ruins the taste of this pork bun.

We ordered a bunch of dishes to share, and several really stood out. The spicy tendon was fantastic, shredded paper thin and swimming in a classic spicy sauce. The spicy lamb dumplings were another highlight, with an incredibly thin wrapper and a super flavorful and not gamey at all lamb filling. I also loved the stir fried rice cakes, which were sliced thin enough to avoid that overly chewy texture, and the stir fried noodles Shanghai style were classic and simple in the best way, with big chunks of cabbage and meat and just executed really (the chefs clearly have some serious wok skills!). Not everything we ordered was an absolute knockout as the vegetable dishes could use a bit more flavor and seasoning, but everything overall was good, and the portions across the board were very generous. The desserts were a last-minute decision and I am so glad we went for them. The lava custard buns were fluffy and amazing, with a molten salted egg custard inside, and the sesame balls had a satisfyingly crispy exterior that gave way to a perfectly chewy interior and sweet red bean filling. The value here is also excellent. We left absolutely stuffed and spent around $30 per person, which felt like a great deal for how much food we got and how much we enjoyed it. Highly recommend!

I walked into the restaurant about 45 minutes before closing time at 9:30 PM and several other diners came in after I was seated. The unsettled weather made the people hungry for dumplings. Bao is warm and woody and serene on the inside, a great counterpoint to the bustle of Valencia at every hour. Upon entering there is a large window looking on to the kitchen prep area where culinary experts are often at work constructing the food diners later enjoy on their plates. The buns come out beautifully presented and taste even better: the bun itself is just slightly sweet and that sweetness adds an amazing dimension to the chopped fresh vegetables inside. Can't tell you what any of these veggies are individually and I don't care, they are so good. Next came the sautéed string beans and the sear on the beans themselves was perfect and smoky and delicious. The crispness of the sautee makes the string beans a lovely pairing with the soft yummy of the steamed buns. Last came the sesame balls as a sweet meal ending. I love donuts and fresh-made sesame balls are similar to a donut hole just with a filling that is actually food and so sweetly tasty. The outer fry was crisp and the insides absolutely perfect. Three dishes, all fantastic, and I walk home happy and thankful to Bao for a great simple meal!

And it's a small space, with maybe 2 tables. So this place is probably best for to-go orders. Their 2g2g bags have more variety than their Chinatown location. Not sure how many dim sum options there are in the Mission, but I would go here if I was in the area and craving a shrimp and chive dumpling.
