My friend and I had lunch here last week. I discovered that this place is the same ownership of Ocean Isle Fish Company. While there, I had their ahi tuna appetizer, which was delicious. I decided to try it here. The appetizer had just a little bit of lettuce, so I ordered the small house salad. My friend ordered the 'regular' salad with the tuna. Her salad was huge and she wished she ordered the same small house salad. The tuna was super fresh and seared perfectly. We both ordered it very rare. First of all this place needs to be called something else because you can get way more than just wings and fish at this amazing restaurant. The food ranges from fish tacos to wings to prime rib to ahi tuna to she crab soup to Philly cheesesteak. The wedge salad is huge and tastes amazing and the ahi tuna was cooked perfectly and the she crab soup had huge lumps of crab in it. Come and try this amazing restaurant you won't be disappointed. I'll start by saying that this was my first bad experience at this restaurant. My wife and I came in at 12:30 today. No wait for a booth. I ordered nachos as an entree and added grilled shrimp. This was described on the menu as chips topped with cheese, lettuce and pico and a side of sour cream and salsa. What arrived was chips swimming in more than a half pound of melted yellow cheese product. The rest of the dish was as described and there were plenty of shrimp. I had a few chips after scraping off the cheese and ate the shrimp. My wife asked the waitress if they still had the corned beef hash that she ordered for brunch a few weeks ago. The waitress left to find out and returned with a yes so she ordered that with scrambled eggs and added cheese scrambled light. Twenty minutes later what arrived was a slice of corned beef and a plain omelette. My wife asked about the hash. The waitress left and returned saying that wasn't available. My wife ordered a Monte Christo sandwich. More than 10 minutes later the waitress told us the cook was new and he messed up the sandwich and another was being made. We asked that it be boxed up. 10 minutes after that the waitress handed us a bag, there was no charge for the sandwich, we paid our bill and left. A little bit later my wife opened the bag and inside was 1/2 of a sandwich. My wife called the restaurant and the manager told her the Monte Christo comes as 1/2 of a sandwich. She expressed her disappointment and the manager offered a $25 gift certificate which she declined. We are locals and have always had a good experience here before today. As an aside I want to share that we were told the owners of this place also own The Ocean Isle Fish Company and The Salty Cow Both of these are on our "no go" restaurant list. OIFC dining room is like eating in a cafeteria. Been to the Salty Cow twice and each time was a calamity like today. read more

Made the mistake of getting the fish and chips. Worst meal I've ever had at a restaurant. We've been to this place several times and never had an issue. Not this time... The fish was heavily breaded and looked like it was frozen fish fillets. Even worse, the fish inside tasted old. The fries at best tasted funky. I can't even describe how bad they were. Last time we ate there for lunch during off season because the decor is great and the staff is always friendly (and weren't disappointed at all and knew we'd have to come back)! But this time at dinner we were very disappointed and not sure we'll come back now. I had 10 wings with 2 different flavors: the honey garlic were terrible, the honey tasted like hot corn syrup and I didn't even taste the garlic at all. The whiskey River sauce was good but thin and the wings were really tiny. They were cooked perfectly, crispy outside and soft inside. The food was great, especially the fried pickles and the loaded fries. The boneless wings were unlike any I've ever seen before. They were huge. I didn't care too much for the dry cajun rub that I i picked. The meat was still tender and juicy. We had a party of 5 and we were seated immediately. The waitress was efficient and very thorough continuing to fill our drinks. The ambiance was also nice. Several TV's were in playing different things. There are also plenty of large-screen televisions to watch sports in a very pleasant environment. Katie, the bartender, was phenomenal! Closed at 11pm means closed at 11pm not 10:40. 10:40 the wait staff refused to take my order and proceeded to pour salt into the wound by telling me to have a good night and that they were sorry.
