There were six of us looking for a fun night out and decided on The Wine Whisperer since it had great reviews, had been on my list to try, and none of us had been before. What a great decision! When you walk in, you immediately notice that all of the wines are beautifully displayed -- it doubles as a wine shop, which gives it such a warm and welcoming vibe. It feels cozy but elevated at the same time. They don't offer flights for groups larger than five, but we were able to order one dealer's choice flight based on our preferred flavor profiles. From there, we could select a bottle inspired by the flight. A few of us gravitated toward reds. Our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable -- we told her the flavor profiles we liked, and she brought out three reds to try. The Wade & Wayfarer Pinot Noir was our favorite (so good!), though a bit pricier. We also tried the Alkoorai Cab/Merlot blend, which ended up being our least favorite. Ultimately, we chose the Denner Nightshade GSM -- excellent pick. Bonus tip: if you purchase a bottle $50 or more, there's no corkage fee; under $50, there is. Our waitress also mentioned that South American Merlots are the best Merlots as we all mentioned Merlot tends to be more dry. A few in our group ordered the Masterpiece Theatre cocktail on our waitress's recommendation -- she did not steer us wrong! Food-wise, everything was a hit. Our friends ordered the Cacio e Pepe burrata, pickled shrimp, Caesar salad, mushroom and leek flatbread, and the Brie and pear flatbread (both flatbreads were huge!). They loved every dish. My husband and I shared the bread with olive oil (simple and delicious), the charred octopus (tender with amazing flavor), gnocchi Bolognese, and lamb chops. Everything was fantastic -- the only small note was that the lamb could've been a bit more rare -- but still very flavorful. By the end of the night, all six of us agreed we'd absolutely be back. We're even looking into their wine club -- $60/month for two bottles (pickup required at the shop), which honestly sounds like a great deal. Apparently, they change up their wine flights weekly, which makes it even more fun and gives us a reason to return. A great place to have a meal or a light snack and lovely wines. What a surprise--you can have a taste of any of their wines by the glass prior to purchase. You can try another if the first is not to your liking! The food is excellent, with it all being house made. Everything from flatbread to lamb chops. Wines by flights or the glass are changed weekly, so you get to try lots of new wines. You may choose a wine from the shop to go with your dinner if you prefer. No corkage with wines $50 or more. They also have wine tastings several evening per week with minimal charges. Knowledgeable servers and bartender. There is a small bar also, so beer and drinks are also available. We went with friends on a Tuesday night and it was pretty busy which says a lot. It's small but has a cozy luxurious feel and the staff is friendly and helpful. They like what they are doing. It's in a strip mall parking lot so parking is pretty easy; if it's crowded, you might not be able to park right in front of the restaurant but there's still plenty of parking. We chose flights of wine to start out and really enjoyed each of the three we picked. For appetizers we got the pumpkin hummus and the Muhammara which is a roasted red pepper and walnut dip with toasted pita. My friends enjoyed their hummus, and my husband, and I thought the pepper and walnut dip were out of this world. We wanted more for dinner. The pita was the perfect crispiness and accompaniment for the dip. Having had limp pita at another restaurant recently makes me especially locked in on this detail lol For mains we got the duck confit tacos, the gnocchi bolognese and the hippie chick salad with roasted salmon. My friend enjoyed her salad, but I forgot to ask how she liked the roasted salmon on top. It looked tasty and was something I was considering for next time. I got the duck confit tacos which were definitely different from your standard fare and had a nice kick to it without being overwhelming. On my first bite I thought it was gonna be too spicy, but the heat did not build to unbearable. Still not sure I'm a fan of duck, but it was done very well and I wasn't disappointed. My husband's gnocchi Bolognese was done perfectly. I was shocked how light and pillowy the gnocchi were and loved the Bolognese, which was the perfect amount of savory without being too rich; elevated comfort food for sure . We were too full from dinner to order dessert which kept our bill down to a little over one Benji for drinks, one appetizer and two beans, , which is pretty typical for a nice meal out these days. I do miss the days when you could go out for $30-$45 a person even with a shared appetizer and drinks but WW is more on the reasonable side compared to most. We will definitely be back though and Iwoll be investigating the private room option for a milestone birthday or anniversary. Well done WW! read more

I stopped in for a late lunch with a couple of friends. I visited previously and really enjoyed visit and was incredibly impressed with the staff. This time the employee at the front was great and explained the membership options and different wines. The server in the cafe was not friendly or engaging which was disappointing since on my last visit I really enjoyed ordering the dealer's choice wine flight and chatting with the server about the different wines. This time the server seemed annoyed and served my friends the same wine flights which didn't allow us to sample. Unfortunately this time we were not impressed with the wine choices like we were last time. I gave it four stars based on my first visit which was a 5 star visit and this time which was a 3 star visit. The food on both visits was fantastic! read more

This is a tiny but mighty wine bar with a knowledgeable staff and unique selection of wines by the glass or flight. My husband travels a lot and was home for a few days so we decided to try Wine Whisperer on a Friday evening. We were sat outside as we requested and Josh greeted us quickly and explained how things work. For drinks I got the Titan flight, which had a higher end selection of reds and my husband got a mixed drink. We also ordered pimento cheese...I have a rule of always having food when I drink, and I knew we would have dinner later so a nibble was perfect. Our drinks were delivered within 10 minutes. They had a minor snafu with my husband's choice...they didn't have his selection but replaced it with a similar option. Our pimento cheese never showed up so I gently reminded Josh and he brought it within a few minutes. I enjoyed the visit and the wine. I told my husband this would be a great lazy Sunday afternoon spot for when you want to have a glass of wine but don't want to crack a bottle at home. We will be back, I'm sure. read more

I have been looking into going here. I keep seeing it when going to Rusty Taco or just driving on Broad Street. I finally decided to go with two friends. It was such a great experience! I felt like I was in Napa Valley! It was decorated so nice and elegant. The service is so great! The guy that seated us, sat us at a nice table and we got delicious food. I got mini sliders that were small and perfect! (I still think about them) we also got the cheese puff I forgot the name of it. but I think it's Brie? All wine bars aren't created equal and at this point. I consider myself a self-proclaimed novice wine enthusiast. My husband and I tried the wine whisperer for the first time today and I was truly impressed. We were greeted by a wholesome hostess that found us a quaint little table near the wine bar. I would recommend getting a reservation since the space is very limited. I decided to try the "Dealer's Flight" and had an amazing Chardonnay, Rose' and a dry Spanish wine. The sommelier was very thoughtful in his selections after asking me a variety of questions to pair me with the perfect wines. I love Roulette, so I'm always open to a gamble on wines. My husband had the whiskey flight and apparently he is now a fan of Rabbit Hole Dareringer. Because I love food as much as I love wine I decided to try the prosciutto, apple, Brie flat bread drizzled with honey. It was an acquired taste, but edible. If you are in search of a low key space with limited noise then this is the ideal location. It's hidden in a shopping center in short pump, so there isn't a ton of traction since it's not at the mall. Also, they have more than wine. Had a wonderful evening at The Wine Whisperer on 11/25. What initially drew me in was the $10 champagne tasting in which the cost went towards FeedMore, but stayed for the vibe, wine and snacks. The gentlemen server was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and detailed when selecting wines. I went with dealers choice whites and my guy did the same with reds. We also ordered the shishito peppers, pimento cheese and Margherita pizza. Everything was pretty good! Had the opportunity to stop in the Wine Whisperer the other evening. I was pleasantly surprised by the set up of the retail section, the bar area and the restaurant. Super cute and cozy! Definitely a place to go with friends or a special occasion. We didn't have anything to eat but the wine flight was very carefully chosen for us by Alex. He asked a couple questions and then presented us with 3 delicious tastings. My husband did red and I did white/rose. All very good! I also had a "splish-splash" half pour which is pictured. My boyfriend wanted me try out the wine whisper so bad. That's my thing lately, trying out new wine spots that offers tastings/flights. The bartender suggested I get a dealers choice flight for $17. The pours are heavy so that's great! Mh pours included a glass of rose and two glasses of wine wines. My bf and I also enjoyed the wagyu beef meatball sliders which were juicy and perfectly flavored with some Italian seasoning, tomato sauce and provolone cheese. I ended my visit with a half pour of some sparking brut for $7 and walked around to see the many different wine bottles available for sale. I will be back for dinner. One of my favorite places. Staff is very knowledgeable and a great place to learn about wine and meet people if that's your thing. I haven't been for a full meal but appetizers and drinks is my go-to. Jenna and the rest of the staff are so very welcoming and meet people where they're at in terms of wine. No intent to overuse this phrase, but when it's the best descriptor, then why search for a better one: HIDDEN GEM. In every way this establishment shines. It is a wine store (small and curated). It has an intimate bar (wines and some surprises in the bourbon category!) They offer a tasting night for a fee, there is dining with small plates and some full sized offerings, and there is even a patio. What I particularly loved was the custom approach to wine flights. My server spent time asking me about my general food (and wine) likes/dislikes, and I asked for recommendations on my flight (3 nice pours for $16). His selections for me were fun to explore, and one, a French gamay, surprised me in a good way! I also ordered a cheese plate - three quite delicious cheeses and a chutney (locally made), plus gf crackers for me were a bonus. Also (I particularly liked this), voices were respectfully low as though all understand and adopted the ambiance of the space. Please don't assume stuffy in the slightest!
