This was a very nice place for dinner. Six of us went... and since it is a little pricey, we all couldn't go together often. However, it was a very nice meal. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The interior is very bright and modern. The service was also excellent. They have a nice wine and cocktail selection to try as well. We ordered a mix of pizza, crab cakes and a sausage pasta dish. The sausage pasta dish got spicier the closer you got to the bottom of the bowl! Very nice place and definitely worth giving a try. read more

Sometimes a place surprises you...I mean REALLY surprises you. That's what happened when I visited Bartizan for the first time. Friendly staff...check and check. Atmosphere...check but a little cold. Food...check. I had perused the menu online. To be fair, I was expecting to have a modified lunch menu selection with some brunch items, so I was disappointed that the brunch was so limited. I ordered the vegetable frittata, which was sparse in the veggies but I also ordered a side of asparagus, which made up for it. My husband had the crab cakes Benedict, which was delicious. When I scoped out the menu earlier, I noticed a gazpacho, which is a top favorite for me. I asked our server, who was awesome and worth a nice tip, if I could get a bowl and she totally took care of us. Since we were later for brunch, I decided to do my Yelp friends a solid and order a few things off the happy hour menu. We got a watermelon sashimi, which was amazing and winner of the day...mushroom tacos. I don't know what they do to their vegetables but they need to keep doing it. read more

I love bartizan!! I have been here 3 times so far and plan to come back more. Love their menu - small plates. Some of my faves have been the whipped feta, sweet potato gnocchi and their tacos. Drinks are pretty good too! I love the margs. Staff is very friendly and attentive. They have outdoor seating as well as indoor and there is a free parking garage right next to the restaurant. So I am really struggling with this review. I haven't given a 2 star restaurant review in I don't know how long. The 2 is a mix of the food and ultimately the experience. The reviews have been so great here and I was so looking forward to it. I'm so disappointed. We all were... First off, I would say our waitress was super kind and provided great recommendations. This review was by no fault of her. To be honest, the manager that walked up to us as we were paying last night at the end of our meal asked us how it was and said "why no dessert", and we responded we waited for over two hours for just our food... and were trying to get to our reservation at Hotel Greene that we paid for. He then proceeded on with a joke and said what's wrong with staying at Batizan all night. We were all turned off by it... and he said," why not take dessert to go".... While we didn't say this but when we pay 20... 24... for pasta and 29 for crab cakes we have some expectations of an entree not a small plate and still a little hungry there is a problem. We all had two rounds of drinks... so everyone's drinks were pretty good except for the Blackberry Bramble which I started off with first. It felt like they forgot the alcohol... and tasted like tap water with a few drops of sugar. Not sure what happened there. Then I proceeded with the Pineapple drink which was an improvement. My girlfriend ordered the Margarita twice as she enjoyed it, and her husband and mine enjoyed their drinks. So the whipped feta appetizer... so I loved this... probably my favorite... great combination of a hint of salt, sweet honey and some crunch with the pistachios. I could've eaten tons of their bread in hindsight they offered to refill it twice and we took them on one of the offer should've refilled it twice (Granted, not sure if they charged us for each refill... they should've given more bread to start with). The calamari wasn't any of our favorite (we suggest a change in recipe it was surprisingly bland but as a Kalamata olive lover I was ok grabbing a piece of olive to pair with the calamari so it provided enough salt... also swap the bland bread with the fresh naan like bread with the feta would've been a plus), and not good enough for us to finish... Mind you I think we were all starving because we waited for our meal so long. The time between apps and our entree was probably an hour and 15-20 minutes. I don't even normally say anything but we had 9:30 reservations at Hotel Greene and it was 8:58 for a 7:00 reservation and we still did not get our entrees yet. They kept asking us whether we wanted a third drink but I wanted to say if it's on the house sure... at any rate no apologies for the wait they just had 2-3 people come by to say our food was on the way. I finally got fed up and made a comment to our waitress, We may not have gotten our food if I didn't. Three of us got pasta dishes my husband got the Sausage Fettuccine (while amazing and delicious $20 took him two minutes to scarf down is a problem... probably the smallest fettuccine ever... but hold off, my gnocchi was even more tragic. Two of us ordered the gnocchi... I was literally about to say I didn't order salad to the waitress haha... glad I pulled myself back. There were maybe a max of 7 gnocchi if not less underneath the arugula. $3.80 for a 5 lb bag of potatoes and $1.96 for 5 oz .... No this dish is not worth $24. I actually enjoyed the consistency, more mashed potato style and grilled... not the traditional chewiness... though my husband wondered if they cooked it enough and we were in a rush so I wasn't going to question it. At that point I was just starving and ate it all so quick same with our friend. My girlfriend got the crab cakes and apparently filler was unreal and it did not taste good so she had most of it leftover. My husband and our friend was missing their side carrots and Brussel sprouts... we didn't even remember that until we left ($6 each) but again we were trying to get out and the manager making the comments were a complete annoyance. Just take a look at the pic of the gnocchi it's really jarring... $240+ later with tip... no we don't want dessert and personally we should've been offered something for our wait which we were not. I dislike giving bad reviews because I'm a big supporter of restaurants, but this review was really warranted. read more

Went here as a guest at a wedding. The food was mediocre at best- weird combinations were selected paired with main dishes. Cold parsnip mash, coated in a wine reduction that took it from bad to worse. Only water at the table- no offer of alternates such as tea. The rolls were room temperature and so dry it took 3 glasses of water to rehydrate after eating one. The space was okay, but lacked seating options during cocktail hour (and a half). The only seating was outside or up the steps with no clear way for someone disabled to reach it. All the floors were cement, so when paired with minimal seating, resulted in feet that ached into the following day. The DJ was absent most of cocktail hour and really did not "DJ" but instead put on a playlist (or most likely streamed it in) and walked away. read more

We had a reservation & the place was almost empty ***Thanks a lot Corona crap*** It was a Sunday night but I could just tell this place had to of been packed pre-covid. Everything was done in detail & all employees knew the menus without pause. They served a Happy Birthday Appetizer of Brie with cranberries & glaze. Ummm....yes!!!! It was not only amazing, but way to be different! We thought it was so cool they recognized her Birthday & in an untraditional way! Staff is trained well, food was AMAZING & we will definitely be back. PS...A table behind us ordered a pizza AFTER our perfect Creme Brule Dessert. Absolutely loved this restaurant and sad to hear that they are changing it to only catering. The food was scrumptous, the drinks were very good, and the setting was beautifully clean. We got 3 dishes which are in between tapas size and regular dishes and were full. If you don't have it, for the time it remains open as a restaurant, get the Royalty Card for the 20% discount. Wish they would either expand to ensure the restaurants stays open but best of luck to the owner is his future ventures and keep making that delicious food! read more

Lovely restaurant with tasty food. We were seated in the upstairs dining area in some of the most comfortable chairs that we have ever encountered in a restaurant. In addition, the upstairs dining area features a pleasant view of the lower restaurant from certain tables. We ordered the sweet potato gnocchi, spinach dip, and wild mushroom and Brie pizza. Each dish was served piping hot. The gnocchi was divine and had a taste reminiscent of french toast. The spinach dip was easily the best I have ever had the fortune to taste. The wild mushroom and Brie pizza was comparably less spectacular, but it was still quite tasty. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Bartizan Restaurant & Bar and would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

I came here for a professional dinner. This was formally wine loft ,changed to a restaurant and is now in event space. Beautiful lighting and Decor large space could be perfect for a bridal shower rehearsal dinner , holiday party or possibly even a wedding. Food was beautifully plated and absolutely delicious. Right in the heart a short pump with parking decks and accessible parking areas around. Definitely a place to consider when planning a formal event . First time here for a work event. They had this huge event space built right next door with their own bar, bathroom, and screens for presentations. Food menu was preplanned so I was a little disappointed that I didn't get to try all the food I was looking forward to getting. The whipped feta was sensation, the Brussels were very good, and the spinach dip was hella cheesy and flavorful as well. The filet was a tad cold but cooked well. The crab cake smelt very fishy however had a nice outside crunch with good texture on the inside. Mashed potatoes stole the show! Flavorful and hella creamy. I would go back again just for drinks and tapas! A little pricey but the staff were all so nice and friendly that it made me feel very welcomed. read more

The food was good, especially the small plates. Mussels (see photo) were 10/10, as were the tacos. The calamari was a disappointment. Tasty but too few calamari amid lots of other ingredients that did little to complement the dish. Main dish for me was a mushroom & Brie pizza, which was excellent. But the scallop dish my daughter ordered was NYC-priced expensive: $30!! for only 3 large scallops. The dish included little piles of chorizo surrounding the 3 scallops which again didn't complement the dish but was more a distraction from the fact that there were only 3 scallops on the plate. Stiff atmosphere, but the drinks looked pretty tasty. The spinach dip was a fail, entirely too cheesy. The pizza was not done enough and the tomato sauce was really sweet. This was our second trip to Bartizan. It was as good or better than the first. We started with two appetizers: calamari and shrimp tacos. Calamari was Mediterranean style and had a delicious broth with Kalamata olives, feta and roasted tomatoes. The bread the bread for dipping to soak up the broth was perfect. The shrimp tacos were spicy and came in a homemade corn tortilla, which was crunchy and delicious. We chose Pepperoni pizza for our main course. Crust was crunchy, topped with a zesty tomato sauce and topped with curly pepperoni. Yum! Service was.... bar none, the best. Every aspect of Bartizan was perfection. read more

At our 3rd visit we were impressed by the kitchen's great efforts to adapt our food to avoid food allergies and still produce delicious plates. After my first visit, the manager reached out to apologize for the experience and invite us back. I recently returned to see some positive changes. The interior had been updated some so it wasn't so stark. The menu, both food & drink, was also updated and much improved. I enjoyed the pizza and the drinks were solid. The wine list was also extended and offered more selection. I still miss the live jazz of the Wine Loft but the recent changes are a significant improvement over when they first opened as Bartizan. read more

Excellent elegant modern decoration inside and outside, patio with a full bar. We loved the food from the bisque ( creamy) to the entres. The dessert was a must have, we ordered the creme brulle , it had the perfect sweeteness and the black berry on it add it a little acidity that we love it. Wonderful atmosphere!! We had a private room to celebrate a friend's birthday and we had an awesome experience! All food and drink was top notch, only reason for 4 stars is service but here in the semi-post covid world I believe we are going to need to except some of that. Spinach dip Appetizer, main of scallops and the beef short ribs were excellent. Cocktails of the blood orange Cosmo and a variation of an old fashioned again were excellent. They have put time and money into their drink service and it shows Here is something that sets them apart- the beef short rib entree came out cold so my wife wanted it warmed up. It took about 7-8 minutes but they remade the entire meal and it was perfect. No one can be 100% all the time but this shows what a professional kitchen and management can do to make a mistake into a positive. It was much appreciated Front of the house not so much- buts let's not overdo it here. It was Saturday night and they were full to whatever the limits are nowadays. Took 15 minutes to get drinks, water was not refilled, had to ask to taste the bottle of wine ordered. Small things but at this price point those are expectations you come accustomed to pre covid It's a little loud, could use some Sound dampening but I think they are going for that energy vibe. We had our holiday party here with about 40 people and the food was good. I had to ask for utensils for the cheese board. The staff stood around most of the time and took forever to clear plates. They didn't have enough high tops for our event. No bread was put out with dinner and the head staffer told me we didn't have it on the order. However she checked and we were given bread after everyone was done eating. Staff need to be more friendly. The owner reached out to me and took a few of my suggestions. Be sure to get full details and ask for everything you need and they will do what it takes to make it perfect. Great venue! read more

What a pleasant surprise! Ate there with a group of 6 & we ordered lots of plates to share, and a couple of pizzas. Portions are on the small side but everything was delicious. I am a sucker for homemade pasta & the gnocchi & fettuccine were excellent. Also, I so appreciate when cocktails are done really well & drinks are not watered down. The service was outstanding, so unusual these days. I am sorry I can't remember the name of our adorable waitress because she deserves a shout out. If you have 5 or more in your party, you're required to call to make a reservation. We called and made the reservation a couple days prior and had it set for Saturday at 6:30pm. Had no problems making the reservation. We got seated immediately and the seats were very comfy in my opinion (just a little random observation). Our waitress (I don't remember her name but she had short hair with blond streaks) was very friendly throughout our whole experience. We started off with the spinach dip that comes with toasted crostini (which is like big croutons) and that was fantastic. Although, in general, I do prefer this type of dip with pita bread, the crostini was still really good. For my entree, I got the pepperoni cast iron pizza (12"). Immaculate. Divine. And hands/toes down delicious. And very filling. I got it with a side of Garlic Fingerling Potatoes. They were decent. Could have used more seasoning in my opinion. My mom got the Dry Aged New York Strip which she thought was over cooked, but the manager handled it excellently and we got two free desserts for the inconvenience. Now, the desserts are what really flipped this review from a four to a five. We got the Créme Brûlée, Bread Pudding, Cast Iron Apple Crisp, and the Cast Iron Cookie. All exquisite! I recommend the cast iron cookie to anyone wanting to pick just one. Overall, great place. Pricey but delicious. Would definitely visit again. read more

I have been in the restaurant business for 30 years now. I find that that most people want to use social media apps to express how truly miserable their lives are by taking it out on restaurants. So, I am going to give Bartizan the best review I can possibly give them because they deserve it. Truly a wonderful experience! From the moment we arrived, we were seated at one of the family tables. I love the idea because it gives you the opportunity to converse with your neighbors if you have them. We did, and they were very nice people that highly recommended some items. Our service was perfect. Everyone had such great personalities and took excellent care of us. We ordered several drinks, and several appetizers. We started with oysters and they were perfect. We then had Beef Carpaccio and the Charcuterie Board. Each amazing! For our entrees, we had the Carbonara and added Scallops to it, along with the Flat Iron Steak with Chimichurri. The scallops were incredible. So buttery and cooked to perfection. The steak was cooked medium rare and was spot on. Yes, we had dessert and espresso's. All amazing. I must say that Bartizan does it right. They put thought into every single detail in the restaurant. The food speaks for itself. We thought this would be a great place to eat and relax.....but the stools were way too high for my feet to touch the floor and the foot rests were too high so my knees hurt after sitting there for a while. The food was int but tasteless other than their home made pickles. The portions were small at best and when the cheese platter said it was ample for two, it wasn't even enough for one person. We left very hungry and disappointed for the price. This place is not worth the drive other than to sit and get drunk if you are local. read more

Our first time here. We ordered the Brussels sprouts, whipped feta, braised beef tacos and meatballs. The food was average. I felt like I can make better meatballs at home. And the Brussels sprouts were dry (no olive oil) and the onions topping them weren't fully cooked. The service was good - thank you to the waitstaff. However the kitchen was a bit slow. The atmosphere is nice, mostly due to the other patrons and cozy level of chatter. Otherwise the furnishings are a bit cold and lacking warmth and permanence. First time visiting Bartizan. We were really excited to have Valentine's Day reservations. Food was good. My wife enjoyed the Tile fish entree. I had the short ribs. Which were a little over cooked. We did try the Mahi taco app as well. Also good but I was hoping it would be better. Really disappointed after two hours the hostess asked if we could leave in 5 minutes cause there was another reservation coming behind us. That was very insulting. Too many options in the West End to be told we had 5 minutes to leave. read more
