    Fried Eggs* & Basil Pesto
    Courtney W.

This is my second time visiting the Quirk's lobby bar for brunch. My husband and I shared the French toast and eggs pesto - both of which were INCREDIBLE. Perfect balance of sweet and savory. The eggs pesto in particular is one of my favorite brunch items in Richmond. The menu is somewhat limited with a few non traditional offerings. Great for foodies willing to try new combinations but I wouldn't recommend for a group of picky eaters. I found the cocktails a bit expensive ($16+). The service was great! Our waiter was attentive without stopping by the table too often. Our 8 month old was entertained by the vibrant atmosphere and was able to stay in her stroller next to our table while we ate. The menu didn't have many BLW options.

While in this area of downtown Richmond for work a co-worker and I stopped in for coffee and to get some work done.... Staff was very friendly and the place looks beautiful. Like places like this where they update and renovate such older structures and make then useful and beautiful for today's clientele! Coffee was really good... Plenty of seating... They have a bar too and it looks like a fun place to be in the evenings!

I absolutely love The Quirk Hotel. The Lobby Bar has a fun brunch and great menu. I prefer their later menu options. Their cocktails are very tasty and fun here too. ***LOCATION*** The Lobby Bar is inside The Quirk Hotel, on Broad and Jefferson. There is free two hour street parking out front and nearby. ***EXPERIENCE*** I've been here quite a few times for their brunch and their evening menu. I'd recommend coming for drinks and lunch/dinner meals. I've done birthday brunches here, birthday cocktails, birthday meals, family brunches, and bachelorette brunch here. The service is great for big groups. They serve very yummy coffee from their cafe. The French Toast is very thick and tasty. I'm not crazy about their breakfast potatoes. Their Fried Eggs & Chorizo hash is fine. Their brunch burger used to be good. Their breakfast croissant is pretty good. I also miss when they had their ceviche, it was divine. ***PRICE*** I usually walk away spending $20-50 at The Lobby Bar ***BATHROOM*** There are restrooms downstairs. The Woman bathroom has quite a few stalls and is kept clean. Just like most things at The Quirk, it's pink. ***CONCLUSION*** Brunch can be hit or miss, but is usually fine or yummy. Their other menus are very yummy too. It's a great spot for groups or date nights.

Dinner was fantastic in every way. The lobby bar has a great aesthetic and the music was an excellent blend of just interesting enough that you could enjoy it, but mild enough that it fell away to conversation. The service was excellent, and our server was quick with recommendations and suggestions when asked for help with the menu. We only needed help because so much looked so good we had trouble deciding on our own! I started off with the Sweet Pea Martini, which was unique, but very good. We shared the tempura vegetables and spanakopita dip, both of which were phenomenal, but the focaccia that came with the dip was some of the best bread I've ever had. For entrees, my wife had the grilled scallop risotto, which I tried a bite of. The scallops were great, but the risotto really shined. I had the Amatriciana, which I've had before, and it was as flavorful and delicious as always. For desserts we had the olive oil cake and the oatmeal cookie. Both very good, but the malted extra virgin olive oil powder was my favorite bit. Absolutely love this place and highly recommend it!

What a great place for any special occasion, the food is great, the drinks are great and you can't beat the ambiance! We went for brunch and I had the Vietnamese fried chicken sandwich. It was the perfect balance of spicy and sweet along with the perfect balance of fresh and fried. It had a fresh slaw on it which cut some of the greasiness of the fried chicken. I had a take on a blackberry cucumber margarita and it was to die for as well as a quirk spritz which was so refreshing with my heavier meal! As always the staff was so lovely and attentive. The lobby bar is hands down one of the cutest restaurants in richmond! It feel hip and fun with a formal flare! I love every chance I get to go there!

We went during the one of their markets and had brunch, it didn't disappoint. I've always loved their dinner and hadn't had their brunch til now. Loved our drinks so much, the spicy margarita style drink was so so so good and the perfect amount of spice. My husband loved the potatoes because they were so crispy on the outside and moist inside. The Burrata & Panzanella was delish. My mom makes this since she's from Italy and honestly it was almost as good. Only complaint is the burrata wasn't very creamy inside but still a delish dish. The vibe is also wonderful and good for kids to look around.

For a place that's gorgeous on the outside, I'm not sure I can say the same about what's on the inside as far as customer service goes - Every employee there just seems bothered and there is just no real care or friendliness at all. I was skeptical about planning a big group dinner here - From the get-go, it was difficult making reservations for a party of 10+ people. I called in two different times to confirm that they would be able to accommodate us which is already excessive for just making reservations. Conversations with 2 employees and 1 manager ensured our reservations would be good to go. Typically, it's the restaurant making sure reservations are confirmed but in this case, we had to do all the work. I would not recommend this place for large parties or for special events. We were told there would be a fee associated with outside desserts (I understand but I don't understand). They do not accommodate friendly payment options so everyone had to split the bill evenly & our server also failed to mention that a 20% gratuity is included. The experience you have in a restaurant is almost more important than the food - I would consider returning for the brussel sprouts and lamb dishes, they were delicious. But overall, our visit was pretty bland for what you would expect from a place that seems so unique.

We were super excited to get together for dinner at Quirk. Our table tried a plethora of items from the menu. I got the Quirk Spritz which was okay, but not very flavorful; not worth the price. I got the duck breast. The duck was cooked the way I like it and had some pink and a nice layer of fat. However, the vegetables weren't fully cooked and the dish as a whole felt lackluster. The burrata ice cream saved my meal; the burrata ice cream was super creamy and the olive oil cake was moist. Others at my table got the onion dip, grilled pork ragu, fried Brussels sprouts, grilled scallop risotto, and several other dishes. The pasta in the ragu wasn't fully cooked and others also noted that their vegetables weren't fully cooked either. Our table was disappointed. Our server was kind and had a good spirit. The restaurant itself was very cute and well appoint d with unique pink decor. Unfortunately, we won't be back for any entrees. We'd give it a shot again for apps and drinks in the future maybe during happy hour? However, this was not worth an almost $400 bill (yes we tipped at least 20%).

Went for brunch to see the gorgeous holiday decorations with some friends. Service was great, food was very good, coffee was solid. Menu is somewhat limited but what they have they do well.

Thoroughly surprised at the low reviews here. The Lobby Bar's brunch was a highlight for our quick Richmond trip! We discovered the restaurant purely by happenstance: we were at dinner next door and were walking back to our hotel when some artwork caught our eye. It was hanging in the giftshop gallery underneath the Quirk Hotel and we promised to return to check it out before trip end. Glad we were able to snag a last minute table for brunch at the same time (had this been in DC, we would have had to make resys weeks in advance). From the ambiance to the food, we loved absolutely e v e r y t h i n g. The decor is soft and romantic, with 'quirky' touches throughout; high ceilings, large windows allowed natural light to beam in. I'd go as far as to say this would make for a great wedding reception venue. Although they feature a shorter menu of brunch fare, it was hard to decide your main brunch plate, so we ended up getting two things that caught our eye: the French toast and Eggs in Purgatory. The French toast was fluffy, thick, soft - exactly what it should be - and the eggs had the right amount of spice and sauciness. See photos for evidence. Highly recommend!

The lobby bar is a restaurant in the lobby of the quirk hotel. I made a reservation for three at 6pm on a Thursday evening. It is a very cute and aesthetic hotel and bar! A great place for an event with the gals. I would say the menu is catered more towards a lighter palate and a picky eater might have a hard time finding something to eat. There is a large selection of alcoholic drinks. The Quick Spritz was very good! The food is Tapas style, so the dishes are engineered to be small and to be shared. We ordered four dishes amongst us three to try different things. The AMATRICIANA("AA-MUH-TREE-CHAA-NUH") pasta was an absolute banger and I would return just for that. The arugula salad was also good, had a lot of nice toppings. There is a small parking lot on the block behind the hotel that is shared between hotel and public parking. You can park there for free and walk to the hotel, very convenient. The bathrooms are located in the basement which is actually an art gallery. It is a functional hotel and you're eating dinner in the lobby, but it's very chic and fun. Would recommend coming here at least once!

Had a fantastic birthday brunch here with friends. Attentive service, nice drinks, and delicious food. Unique dishes on the menu. I got the Eggs in Purgatory. The sauce was just the perfect amount of spice. It's kind of like shakshuka but with these hush puppy like fritters. My friends got the brussel sprouts and the beet salad. Both also enjoyed their dishes. If you're looking for a nice brunch spot, definitely consider The Lobby Bar at Quirk.

The menu has so many tempting options that it was hard to choose, but we both landed on the Hot Chicken Sandwich with cayenne butter--and we're glad we did. It had the perfect amount of heat: enough to bring some spice without overpowering the flavor. On the side, I ordered the green beans after our bartender/server highly recommended them. Normally, green beans wouldn't be my first choice, but they were seasoned perfectly and ended up being one of the biggest surprises of the meal. My partner chose the mac and cheese, which was the superior side (although both were excellent). The service was friendly, attentive, and genuine throughout the evening. Despite arriving on a Friday night without a reservation, we had no trouble getting a table. They only accept reservations for parties of 5-8, so I'm glad we decided to take our chances. One of my favorite parts of the evening was chatting with another guest at the bar. He and his wife shared several entrées with their young son, and they couldn't stop raving about the short ribs--which their son happily claimed for himself by the end of the meal! They also highly recommended the salmon, so we've already got ideas for our next visit. The only real downside has nothing to do with the restaurant itself: parking in Scott's Addition can be a challenge. I'd recommend allowing yourself some extra time to find a spot or, even better, taking a rideshare so you can start enjoying your evening right away. Lunch. Supper! has earned its reputation as a longtime Richmond favorite. Great food, excellent service, and a relaxed atmosphere make this an easy five-star recommendation. We'll definitely be back.

Our server, Nadia, was an enchanting brunette, training another young server, Sierra. She took our drink orders and gave us plenty of time to review the menu, checking in after a few minutes to see if we were ready. We finally decided, my partner ordered the 10" Bianca White (pizza), and I chose the Sailor Sandwich. Unfortunately, the sailor was not in the cards for me, and Nadia suggested the Reuben as they were similar. They brought out breadsticks while we waited, and the food arrived within 10-15 minutes. I was pleased with the atmosphere, the old-fashioned chandeliers, the large mirror, the floral paintings, and the rustic frames, all of which added to the restaurant's stated aesthetic. The pizza was hot and savory, while the Reuben had buttery toast, crispy corned beef, and a light smattering of sauerkraut (TBH, I didn't even notice the sauerkraut). For dessert, we indulged in the upside-down walnut apple pie, served with vanilla ice cream, all made from scratch, and beautifully delicate. Our time at Tarrant's Cafe seemed like a stroll into the past; the only indication of modernity was the ordering kiosk used by the staff.
