----- Read This Review ------ GO! Awesome, intimate, warm and inviting! Excellent wine selection and private wine service is available for the more discrete patrons who want an impressive collection at home. Looking for delicious wines, here they are. (And no grocery store wine!) Dark wood antiqueish long wood tables on the main floor with a small stage for musicians who pop by on rotation. Upstairs area is a more intimate setting. I can't wait to go back. I'm going back!

Enjoying a night of local artist!

If you're looking for a casual neighborhood wine bar, that attracts a diverse clientele, Wine Therapist is worth a visit. The lofted minimalistic design with communal tables and benches conjure an old English pub vibe. Similar to many venues in the area, a design revamp would go a long way, but still, a good time can be had by all. I'm not a wine snob, however I don't believe true connoisseurs of wine or beer, will be impressed with the limited options, or prices. Why visit Wine Therapist? I love supporting local artist, and from Open Mic Mondays to varied musical artist throughout the week, there's always something to enjoy, even a wine tasting area that's great for parties (maybe there are different wine options during a tasting.) Parking is easy, and although they don't serve food they allow orders from nearby venues. Hope to enjoy the arts with you at Wine Therapist soon! Xoxo Lorenzo!

Wall of art

Wine Therapist moved to a new location about a year ago. And if you blink, you'll miss it. There is no major signage, just a small neon sign that says WINE. I guess that's all you need these days in Lakewood, but you won't hear any complaints from me. Unlike many other wine bars that are similar to sitting in someone's living room or patio. Wine Therapists has a art studio feel to it. The space is two levels. The upstairs offers more privacy and some really comfy chairs. Downstairs has the usual bar space and it also has the community style table & bench seating. You'll also notice plenty of local art on display on the wall, which is fairly cool. If you're like most wine drinkers, you will want something to snack on. Wine Therapist doesn't have food, but you can order from the Italian restaurant next door and they will deliver right to your table. If the weather is nice or your tolerant of being outside in Texas, you can sit at one of the sidewalk tables. Service is very consistent on each visit. And there's a great variety of wines to choose from. You will find plenty of friendly locals. Don't hesitate to make this a regular stop on your way home.

Absolutely love this wine and Gretchen!

Cafe Duro is a must when visiting the Lower Greenville area!…read more I recently visited this amazing European-style café during breakfast on a weekday and it was amazing. Please note that parking in this area is particularly difficult but if you come in the morning, it should be easier to find. Another thing worth nothing is that they are more of a quick standing coffee bar type of place and I definitely wouldn't recommend it for families or kids, so keep that in mind when visiting. Now to the food... They have a small but mighty menu for breakfast and lunch. For my first time I decided to try their The Monte Duro, which is a pastry style "hot pocket" with smoked prosciutto, mortadella, mustard and jam. For drink I decided to go with their Dirty Chai Latte. The drink was absolutely perfection and exactly what I needed in a warm Texas morning. The Monte Duro was cooked to perfection and packed with flavor! Both my friend and I ordered the same thing and we were both obsessed with it.

The staff is not really friendly but the vibes were still peaceful. Mushroom grilled cheese: This was so yummmy!! The bread comes perfectly crispy and buttery. There were tons of mushrooms and creamy flavor. By far one of the best grilled cheeses I ever had. Banana horchata matcha: This drink was very sweet and good for people that dont like bitter drinks. I loved the banana flavor and it reminded me of banana bread. There was also a lot of cinnamon in the drink which made it so tasty.

My date and I had an incredible experience at St. Martin's Wine Bistro…read more The ambiance sets the tone immediately. It's dark, moody, and effortlessly romantic, with a live pianist playing throughout the evening. It's the kind of place that feels intimate without being stuffy, perfect for a date night. The service was honestly some of the best I've had in Dallas. My water never dropped below two sips from full, the team was that attentive. It became amusing (in the best way) how on top of everything they were. Our waiter, Rene, was outstanding. He provided stellar recommendations from starters to entrées, drinks, and desserts. I trusted him enough to let him choose my glass of wine to follow my cocktail, and he nailed it. He also walked us through the menu in detail, which was incredibly helpful as first-time guests. The food absolutely delivered: * Shrimp St. Martins - Five jumbo de-veined shrimp in a rich, butter-like sauce that was decadent without being overwhelming. * Frisée Aux Lardon Salad - Rene thoughtfully split this tableside and served it onto individual plates. The dressing leans heavily Dijon-forward, so order accordingly if you're not a mustard fan. That said, the bacon was some of the best I've ever had: thick, slightly sweet, and perfectly cooked. * Sea Bass Ratatouille - Served over a tomato sauce, it was flavorful, well-balanced, and not too heavy. * Rack of Lamb - An extremely generous portion (which I happily helped my date finish). It was boldly seasoned and on the saltier side, which I personally loved, though I understand that may not be for everyone. * Affogato - A simple but perfect way to close out the meal. Between the romantic atmosphere, top-tier service, and excellent food, this is easily one of the better dining experiences I've had in Dallas.

Apparently it's a Dallas staple restaurant, having been around for more than 44 years, but it is now in a new location as of 2024. Starting from the moment you walk in you are enveloped in a very moody romantic French bistro. Just inside the front door you are greeted by the hostess. There's also a live piano player who plays live music at just the right volume. Tables are covered in white tablecloths with glowing candles. The booths are especially cozy! If you are looking for a romantic dinner spot this is your spot! The service here is on par and the food delicious! This particular night we started with the caviar service, then moved on to the mixed green salad. After that, honestly I was full so I just had Lobster Bisque for dinner while my husband had the lamb. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals, but were too full to move onto dessert, maybe next time!

I visited Waters Edge with my family this past weekend before we went to a movie at the Drafthouse…read more(just across the parking lot), and we had a good time! Waters Edge is a winery and a bistro - so you can come for drinks or a meal or both. We were told that they make all of the wines on their menu, of which there are dozens of wines on their menu. I've been to a few urban wineries before, and it's an interesting concept. Waters Edge buys grape must (crushed grapes) from around the world and then craft and bottle wines made from that must at their locations (this Dallas location is one of 15 across the country). Wanting to try a few of their wines, the four of us shared two flights of five wines each. We tried the Tour of Armenia and Alec's Flight (a rotating selection of wines by their winemaker). Did I like every wine? No. But I thought most of them were pretty good. Personally, I'm not sure they need to make this many wines; I'll always prefer a business that does ten things well than fifty things fine (the Cheesecake Factory rule). But most of the wines were pretty nice (of the 10 I tried, I wouldn't drink 3 or 4 but wouldn't mind drinking the rest again). I appreciated that many of their wines are Armenian style, because I haven't had much opportunity to try Armenian wines. We also ordered a few snacks - they have a full food menu. We shared their Deviled Egg of the Month (2 eggs - 4 halves) and their Cheese is Life Board (two cheeses, hot honey, giardiniera, and crispy flatbread), which were both good snacks. They've been open just under a year, but the place doesn't feel quite lived in yet. The dining room has a large room divider in it, set up like a bookshelf. It has books and card/trivia games about wine and more. But many of these items were still wrapped in plastic, making it feel a little impersonal. The service was good, and it's a comfortable place to spend a couple of hours! The food we had was pretty good. The wines in my opinion are just okay - probably not the spot to take a wine snob on a date. But they have a large variety of wines, so you're likely to find one or many that you like. Not a bad place to spend some time if you're in the neighborhood!
