Let me give you the good, bad and UGLY. I wanted to love this spot. However, they are new and still have some kinks to work out. I did the Sunday Brunch Bites EXPERIENCE with a friend! This is something I would recommend trying. Food and wine pairings are great. Ambiance 5 STARS It is vey cute and the decor is nice. It's chic and modern. The colors are pleasant and it feels cozy inside. The bar area is very charming and the restroom was clean. I was happy and off to a great start. Food: 4 STARS The chef did his thing. He put LOVE and his whole foot into the food. The bites were so damn tasty and GOOD! Everything was well seasoned and so flavorful. Even though it was just simple bites. I had to take a star off because everything came out cold. I'm like how are you cooking it fresh and made to order, but it comes out cold. Each bite came out cold or luke warm. Please make it make sense. It was still delicious cold. The chef came out and he was pleasant. We had a chance to engage with him. Chicken, waffles, stuffed mushroom, shrimp and grits, eggs and quiche were some of the bites. All were yummy. My favorite was the stuffed mushroom. Wine 3.5 STARS Some of the wines were good and some were ok. I just think the selection is a bit limited. They didn't have any sweet wines. A place should always have one. I did enjoy the tasting overall and really liked the rose. Which was surprising because I don't like most rose wines. The Champagne/Prosecco one was nice on my palate. Service 2 STARS They were short staffed I believe. So I gave them some grace and patience. They kept apologizing for the delay and long waits between each tasting. Some of the staff wasn't knowledgeable when we asked questions. Also I would get wine and no food bite. Or a bite and no wine. They need to get it together and be a bit more organized. Each paring should have wine and food bite. So the service was a miss. Slightly a hot mess. Overall the food saved the day. I did enjoy supporting them and trying a new EXPERIENCE. I wish them success in Dallas. I don't think they chose the best location. It's like hidden and the corner seemed dead. I wish they would have chosen a better area. I will visit the Houston one to compare notes. I know that location is established. The pricing was fair for the tasting. I just didn't get what they showed in pictures. We did inquire about this. I wish them the best and I say it's worth checking out. I would go back if the chef is cooking. I could eat a BIG plate of his food. Tip: charcuterie has to be ordered 24 hours in advance. They don't serve food. If you want food do the brunch bites tasting on Sundays. Make a reservation and pay in advance. With downtown you know parking is hard.

We chose Pur Noire as our couples' date night/birthday celebration location (two couples, with one person from each couple celebrating a birthday). We had a 4:30 PM Saturday reservation. It was pretty busy when we arrived, with several two-person tables and two groups. It was energetic and loud. The ambiance and decor were nice (I could see them needing a bigger location pretty soon). We paid for the grand tasting and two charcuterie cups. The grand tasting included six wines. The charcuterie was typical, with prosciutto and salami (I think--I didn't eat), grapes, strawberries, chocolates, nuts, crackers, and honey. The charcuterie was good and held us over until dinner at 7:30 PM. The wines were good, some better than others. Each person in our party found something they liked. Our wine hostess (I can't remember if this is what they are called or sommelier) was nice and seemed knowledgeable. She explained the wines, the creation of the company, and things to look for in the tastings. She gave us the right amount of time between tastings and was very friendly. We each wanted a glass of the Merlot and were told it would be cheaper to get a bottle. The bottle was $64. It was good but not worth that price to us. We've had better Merlots for half that price. But it's a matter of opinion--others may disagree. Also, we couldn't quite figure out the wine club, but to be fair, we didn't ask them to explain. None of us are true connoisseurs, but we each enjoy a good glass of wine and know enough about pairings to get by. We all enjoyed this place and would return/recommend it. It would be nice for a date night or girls' night out.

It was a cute vibe. Nicely decorated. For the life of me, I'm still trying to figure out why it took almost 2 hours for a tasting of 6 wines. I came here on Sunday will a girlfriend under a reservation, and we felt overlooked the entire time we were there. We had no food, so it really shouldn't have taken so long to complete a simple tasting. Usually, the way it works is you complete the tasting, and then you are impressed with a wine enough to purchase a full glass or bottle. Not the case with us, we were itching to finish so we could leave and go eat elsewhere.

Came for a wine tasting! And had a great time! V our sommelier was amazing, not only great at her job but made the entire tasting a fun experience!

Pur Noire was on our list of things to check out and it being a black owned winery. It was $40 for a wine tasting that included six wines. You can also order a charcuterie board 24 hours before your tasting to go with the event. We forgot to do that but our associate was so nice that she was able to accommodate us for our small party and it really did set off the wine tasting. We started off with champagne while we got ready for the wine tasting to begin. Our associate whose name I can't remember was amazing. She was so knowledgeable about all the wines and just made it a great experience. The wines with the exception of two which were a little too bitter for me were amazing. This is definitely a great spot for a date night or girls night. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area.

Service was great and enjoyed the ambiance. Had good music playing, staff was knowledgeable about the wine which was great. Did the quarter wine flight and the wine was good! Enjoyed the ride flavor the rose wine the best out of the flight. Good for a nice date night or girls night/day.

My friend and I stopped by Pur Noire for Sunday Brunch bites. Our reservation was at 1 and they called us 10 mins prior to our appt & advised that the chef was late and asked us to come at 1:30 or 2. We were already in front of the building. In my opinion, the short notice was extremely unprofessional. The winery itself is gorgeous. Very chic. Very cutesy. I loved it. The music was selection was on point. Now to the brunch, the waitress served us and advised that the chef never showed up and they whipped the food up. All of it was lukewarm. It wasn't hot at all, I didn't eat any of it. I didn't feel comfortable. If the chef called in, who made the food? Idk. The wine itself was sub par. We were able to choose from three different wines for the tasting. Nothing memorable. Our server was phenomenal and extremely apologetic. It's not her fault that the chef didn't show however it was an inconvenience & it wasn't a good first impression. I don't plan to come back but I do hope that this black business succeeds.

Wine, Vibes, and Good Company what more can a girl ask for! Beautiful establishment and beautiful people. Decided to do a tasting during Happy Hour and Pur Noire did not disappoint. If you need to unwind before heading home or a pit stop before a night out, this is your place! This will definitely be on of my weekly hangouts. Ask for Sandra, she is amazing and will take wonderful care of you!

Came here for the first time for a wine tasting experience on Valentine's Day during black history month 2025 and this was an absolutely necessary experience for such a time! I really enjoyed learning that this place and all the wines I tasted were black owned. The charcuterie was really nice small food option to go along with our drinks and the ambiance was beautiful and just as tasteful as the whole shabang. Our server was very informative and helpful since we were late for our reservation! I really appreciated the grace period and accommodations considering our delay and life just life-ing. Highly recommend this place and the overall experience!

Had a great time celebrating a friend's birthday here. The ambience was very chic and mellow. The choices of wines seemed of good quality. The staff was well informed on the wines and gave great intros for what we were drinking. They also delve into how the owners of the bar came to be. I ordered the small charcuterie plate with the three wine sample reservation. I called ahead to see if the small would be enough, and they were very friendly and informative on what would work. I would visit again.

Come to find out - this place is actually the "Bishop Arts Winery," and only opened up a restaurant a couple months ago! We arrived at 7, and we were the only guests there for an hour as the musician set up to play. By the time 8:15 rolled around, the music was in full swing and the 7-10 tables were all occupied by old couples, groups of friends, and even a family with 3 young kids! Although the space itself is small, it wasn't claustrophobic at all - it was homey and nice. Not too loud either. The ambience was very romantic; I loved the interior decorations that made it feel like little Italy and home all at the same time. Now for food - they bring out hot, Parmesan dusted bread as you order and wait for your food...mmmmm. We got the BAW Cabernet Sauvignon by the bottle (24.99) and she let us know that it would be $8 per glass, so it's a bit cheaper to go for the bottle. We had heard good things about the cheese board, so we got a small. Perfect appetizer: at least 6 different tastes of cheeses, salami, different spreads and jams and crackers. Loved it, perfect for 2 people. Our waitress also inspired us to get this fried artichoke/crab meat ball...sounds weird but it was SO GOOD!!!!! Show stealer for sure. I got the classic spaghetti marinara, and Trip got the Bolognese lasagna. Both were impeccable, we are every bite - and the portions were generous but not excessive! Our service was awesome - it felt like they had at least 3 people circulating the small room to make sure everyone was taken care of. Wonderful experience and can't wait to go back!!!

The Texas Tempranillo stood out with its depth and character, and the Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon was a clear favorite--bold, smooth, and well-balanced. I've also heard that Barons Creek hosts themed events, which adds another layer of appeal. The idea of pairing their wines with a fun or seasonal theme sounds like a great way to experience the tasting room. Our evening started with a cocktail hour, during which we got to meet other guests over a glass of Roots & Water cabernet. We loved the cab - light and elegant. Once we were seated, we started with a glass of champagne with east coast oysters. For each course, one of the chefs came out to explain the dish and the inspiration behind it. Chef Adrien explained to us that he and Mollie had curated a menu of aphrodisiacs for Valentine's, and the oyster was prepared in a way that brought out ocean feels. We definitely tasted, felt the ocean waves with the soft red beet foam atop the oyster! Our favorite course of the menu was the soup/pasta dish - fideo noodles with tomato saffron brodo, generous pieces of lobster, and crispy leeks. I'm usually not a fan of tomato-based sauces, but this soup was SO delicious! Not too salty, not too powerful in taste, just right. The noodles were done al dente, with a slightly firm texture in every bite. And the lobster pieces were so soft! We devoured every bite of the entire meal, but we ultimately agreed this course stood out the most! The main was definitely a hit, too! It was braised Texas wagyu with root veg puree, herb emulsion, mushroom, and lots of truffle! We loved the strong flavors of the wagyu paired with the puree - so soft, so fluffy, subtle in taste. And the red that went with it *chef's kiss* We were also impressed with the potato dish - ambrosia fingerling potato with duck fat, burnt crema on top with caviar, ikura, trout roe. Who woulda thought caviar and roe go well with potato! And the crema to balance out all the flavors. We liked how the potato was sliced into perfectly thin pieces for each bite. For the dessert, the panna cotta was paired with a white wine, which we appreciated, as we're not big fans of port/dessert wines. We liked the balance in flavors with the sweet-citrusy taste of the panna cotta and the refreshing white. All in all, I could feel every ounce of attention and love poured into every dish, and we were very, very happy campers by the end of our dinner experience. Thank you to Roots & Water for hosting, as well as the chefs and sommeliers for curating an all-around beautiful experience. We hope to be back soon for some wine tastings!

First let me say that April is their peak time (because it's blue bonnet season and folks are out and about) so they charge a fee to park. We arrived near closing time yet they were kind enough to welcome us in and allow us to look around. We also decided to grab a glass of wine while we walked around looking. I will honestly say that I am NOT a wine snob, I couldn't tell ya a good glass from a bad glass but I don't like dry and I don't usually like reds. With that said I was given some suggestions and for what it's worth, I'd drink it again. We were offered to purchase some cheesecake but without seeing what I was getting and told $11, I passed on it. I will say that the souvenir "glass" that I paid for was disappointing, come to find out it's a plastic cup, however I was told it "floats in the pool" but I'll never know because I don't own a pool to sip and float in. So most the folks out in the yard were wine tasting and seemed to be enjoying what they had. I had one couple who actually went down the list letting me know what their favorites were and why (I took notes). This is a cute little spot off the beaten path. I must say that I'm thankful for a restroom but I'm never a fan of portable potty's and unfortunately this was the only option at the time. If I'm out this way again, I'll make a stop and try a wine flight to see if the other wines live up to the hype.
