My husband and I stopped by after being in the Richardson area and Im happy we did! This spot was cozy, with lots of seating options including couches. The people were very friendly and they had lots of wine options. Its located in the back of the building so it can be hard to find, but its there! Definitely stop by. read more

Very out of the way little spot that you won't likely happen upon by accident. They don't serve food other than some basic snacks, but they do allow you to bring your own food or have it delivered to you there. They have a great wine selection. Consider bringing your own food and you can have a luxurious bottle of wine for what dinner out may set you back. Also, very knowledgeable staff that can help find your pallet or experiment with something new. read more

This gem of a place is a great find deep in the suburban heart of... Richardson! Yes, Richardson, Tx. Tucked in at the back corner of an assuming business area. They offer great prices, comfy environment and best of all, awesome selections. We only stayed for a glass but surely enjoyed that short stay. Couches, high tops, and a fireplace. Everybody just seemed to be enjoying their time sipping and discover new wines. Definitely a new spot added on the roaring list of other awesome libation place. ;) read more

The Wine Authority is awesome! Really good wine, really good people! Every time I go I learn more about wine and get to try something new! My favorite wine bar! read more

If you know nothing about wine or the wine business then this is the place for you. Wholesale distributors are forced by regional distributors to take pallets of junky wine to get the wines they really want. They then sell it off to retailers at very low prices or it will sit in their warehouse. They may give it to them as 3 cases free if you buy 3 and then retailers like the WA will sell it with a normal markup and make huge profit. Meanwhile, the people that go are psychologically under pressure to like the wines as they are being told how great they are and they are drinking junk. In lookng at the entire wine list there are only 3 wines on it worth buying and none woud be any I would normally buy. So, if you want cheap junk wines go to the WA. read more

The Wine Authority has the best selection at the best prices. Many sophisticated wine drinkers can attest. The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming. If you're looking for a pretentious space then this is not the place for you. Highly recommend! read more

We go to the The Wine Authority pretty much every week, and the owner Tom is the NICEST person who just wants everyone to have the best time, make some friends, learn about wines, and discover new wines through tastings. His pricing is great, and the membership is so worth it. The Tuesday tastings are a blast, and Tom really has fun with the bar making each night a fun experience with different activities. His events are not to be missed! Tom and all the folks that work at TWA take the time to get to know you and what you like so you always have a personalized experience. I call it the "second living room". You walk in to see faces you know, games on the shelf to play if you fancy, and enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgeable folks pouring the wine who can't wait to get to know you. read more

The Wine Authority - Good friends & drinks - Wine Tasting Room Near Me - Richardson, Texas

I do enjoy a good glass of wine. However, I wanted to find a place that had a more comfortable atmosphere and felt like a place for friends. So, I googled and found The Wine Authority. I was a tad skeptical pulling up. It is hidden and off the main road it felt. That all changed when I walked in. The atmosphere was relaxing and the staff/people were super friendly. The staff helped me in picking a wine flight and going into detail of some of the wine selections. I was even able to meet the owner. He was very polite and kind. Lastly, as the night progressed I was able to see how the place quickly filled up with people but not overwhelming. It seemed as everyone knew each other there. I would highly recommend this place for a comfortable night or afternoon out with friends. I will definitely be back and looking forward to the open mic night! read more

This is practically the best hidden gem in Richardson if you are looking for a quiet, no pressure spot for wine and conversation. We sat at the bar and chatted with the bartender and made friends with another patron. We will definitely be back... this week I think! read more

Live music and great service. Wine selection is was perfect for a date night. Recommend.

There is a great atmosphere and the owner came up multiple times to check-in and answer any questions we had. I wish they had more of a standard wine tasting experience, as creating your own 3 glass tasting costs half of the glass cost, each, and that adds up quickly ($22 for a flight of 3 reasonably priced wines). The selection of wine is great and it's nice to have the option to taste it before buying a bottle. There were also some games available which I always appreciate, and on a Saturday night they had a small band. read more

Omg more people need to know about this place but I also love that not many people know this place exists. A new favorite for sure.

A very charming place. The patrons and staff were amazing friendly. Wished I live in that neighborhood, i would be there on the regular.

Amazing hidden gem that I found today! I live in the Richardson area and just wondered why there wasn't a nice wine bar to frequent. I have now found one and couldn't be more happy. I met the Sommelier, Kyle, and he was very knowledgeable and personable. He educated me on wines to the point where I canceled my wine membership with another wine company and joined his. I fell in love with his selection of wines and the ambiance there. I am forever a member there. They fact that the location is inconspicuous makes it MORE appealing! I am truly an oenophile for life! Cheers, read more

I cant possibly be more excited about this place. The owner Kyle has a depth of wine knowledge that is extremely impresive. He used to be the somelier at three forks when they were they tenth largest wine purchaser in the country. If you are just starting your journey into wine, are an experienced collector, or anything in between he will not disappoint. You will get custom recommendations based on your pallet and budget. I could not be happier to be purchasing from him!! read more

I had such an amazing experience at The Wine Authority. I was able to rent the space and host Friendsgiving with 20 of my closest friends and it was an EXCELLENT VENUE. The ambiance and shop decor worked well for decorating and didn't require us to add much. The shop is super spacious and has plenty of seating whether you desire to be together as one large group or separate out for some good side conversations. :) The owners Kyle and Jazz were more than accommodating and such a joy to have around. Did I mention the wine? We were able to get so many variations of good wine to go along with our dinner. I didn't have one sip that I didn't enjoy. Kyle is very knowledgeable on each selection and great pairings. My friends and I were feeling gooooooddd and it helps that they also have good music (oh! And the cowboys game was on the big screen). It's super easy to get to in Richardson and has plenty of parking. I'd definitely recommend as a good hangout spot or venue to host events. read more
