    Glass of Sangiovese

What a cool little place! We came here one night to see a friend of ours who was providing the entertainment (they have regular live music) and it was a great discovery. We live about 45 minutes away so we probably wouldn't have happened upon it otherwise. It's tucked away and looks like it's out in the country with a few acres of land with tables, chairs and firepits outside. It was a little warm but not too bad with a breeze blowing. Inside are several rooms with tables; it's in an old house so all the individual rooms are separate. Would be a great place for a small gathering of friends, as well as anytime you want to hear some music and relax. We enjoyed the Sangiovese and almost bought a bottle to take home; we'll definitely do so next time. One thing that was a little odd; they have wines on their menu that are reserved for wine club members, but they are on the regular menu. It's like teasing us with options that we aren't allowed to try. I understand exclusivity for your wine club but maybe there could be a separate menu of wine club only options? There were actually two Sangiovese wines on the menu when we were there, and they asked which one I wanted. When I picked the one that said wine club only, they said I wasn't allowed to buy that one. That's fine but if that was the case, it was strange to ask me which one I wanted. Overall it was a nice relaxing Saturday evening and we'd like to return, probably when it cools off a bit.

You would be remiss if you were in the area and didn't stop by (heck, you'd be missing out if you WEREN'T in the area and didn't go out of your way to stop by!) Great ambiance, fabulous drinks and fantastic small plates to pick on while you try different wines made ON SITE! I was so impressed with the attention to detail and loved that it is truly a family run business. Our family will plan another get together there soon!

I can't believe I finally found a winery near me and a great one! I am sad I only had one hour to spend here today but I will be back soon. The staff was super friendly and helpful, the place is so pretty and relaxing, the wine is great of course, reasonable pricing and they also have food options. See you again soon!

Cassaro is awesome: the wines are excellent, tastings and food are affordable, and the owner's son is super friendly and helpful.

I like more server Involvement when it comes to a tasting. I want to know more about the wine. Probably just there on a bad night.

A cute little family owned winery we stopped by on our way to see the Ennis bluebonnets. The "wine…read moretasting room" is very cute and there are also little goodies for sale, like candles and gummy wine infused dinos (!!!). There's also a good selection of cheesecakes which sounded interesting but we didn't try them. Staff was very friendly in giving recommendations and describing each wine. Tried a few recommended wines (each person can sample 2 for free) and they were just okay for me. Lots of fruity wines and some seasonal flavors like gingerbread which was interesting. I liked the lime with coconut the most, but didn't love any enough to buy a glass or bottle. We ended up getting the cheese board, which was $18 and came with crackers and a good selection of cheeses, meats, nuts and mustard dip. Adding some grapes would've been amazing!

First let me say that April is their peak time (because it's blue bonnet season and folks are out and about) so they charge a fee to park. We arrived near closing time yet they were kind enough to welcome us in and allow us to look around. We also decided to grab a glass of wine while we walked around looking. I will honestly say that I am NOT a wine snob, I couldn't tell ya a good glass from a bad glass but I don't like dry and I don't usually like reds. With that said I was given some suggestions and for what it's worth, I'd drink it again. We were offered to purchase some cheesecake but without seeing what I was getting and told $11, I passed on it. I will say that the souvenir "glass" that I paid for was disappointing, come to find out it's a plastic cup, however I was told it "floats in the pool" but I'll never know because I don't own a pool to sip and float in. So most the folks out in the yard were wine tasting and seemed to be enjoying what they had. I had one couple who actually went down the list letting me know what their favorites were and why (I took notes). This is a cute little spot off the beaten path. I must say that I'm thankful for a restroom but I'm never a fan of portable potty's and unfortunately this was the only option at the time. If I'm out this way again, I'll make a stop and try a wine flight to see if the other wines live up to the hype.

Come to find out - this place is actually the "Bishop Arts Winery," and only opened up a restaurant a couple months ago! We arrived at 7, and we were the only guests there for an hour as the musician set up to play. By the time 8:15 rolled around, the music was in full swing and the 7-10 tables were all occupied by old couples, groups of friends, and even a family with 3 young kids! Although the space itself is small, it wasn't claustrophobic at all - it was homey and nice. Not too loud either. The ambience was very romantic; I loved the interior decorations that made it feel like little Italy and home all at the same time. Now for food - they bring out hot, Parmesan dusted bread as you order and wait for your food...mmmmm. We got the BAW Cabernet Sauvignon by the bottle (24.99) and she let us know that it would be $8 per glass, so it's a bit cheaper to go for the bottle. We had heard good things about the cheese board, so we got a small. Perfect appetizer: at least 6 different tastes of cheeses, salami, different spreads and jams and crackers. Loved it, perfect for 2 people. Our waitress also inspired us to get this fried artichoke/crab meat ball...sounds weird but it was SO GOOD!!!!! Show stealer for sure. I got the classic spaghetti marinara, and Trip got the Bolognese lasagna. Both were impeccable, we are every bite - and the portions were generous but not excessive! Our service was awesome - it felt like they had at least 3 people circulating the small room to make sure everyone was taken care of. Wonderful experience and can't wait to go back!!!

Charcuterie boards can be so boring and stale if not thoughtfully designed, and obviously the freshness of the ingredients is of utmost importance. Too often with charcuterie boards you get that refrigerated taste/smell from something that's been sitting uncovered in a fridge for too long. But these boards were super-well-wrapped until time to eat. There is clearly a lot of care put into each board, and so many beautiful, quality ingredients. These particular grazing boards had a variety of 4 cheeses (like a pistachio crusted goat cheese, sharp cheddars, brie, and habanero pepper), 2 meats (salami arranged like a rose and capicola on the side), a handful of nuts (pistachios or almonds), salty cornichons or olives, plump fruit (raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and grapes), wafer-y crackers, a piece of foil-wrapped chocolate, and a tiny glass jar of local honey or jam. And a sprinkling of vibrant, edible flower petals. It's really very pretty, bountiful, and colorful. See my photos! I'd say these specific boards are a great size for 2-4 people to share. The Art of Grazing's website has all the info on their different boards.. lots of sizes, crudités or cheeses or meats or combos, holiday themes and specials. Looks like they host classes and events, too. Flight nights, brunch boards with mimosas, that sort of thing. Love it. They're in a cute little spot in Southside Fort Worth.
