Tasting flight. $12 for 3 samples.

Bishop Arts Wine Shop sells and offers tastes of wines from all corners of the Lone Star state. The wine styles include white and red wines. Some are bone dry while others are full of residual sugar or "legs". There is a breakfast menu available Wednesday to Sunday. The shop itself feels like a rustic wine tasting room right out of Santa Ynez, a small coastal enclave of the Santa Barbara area of California. With Rhone and very popular grape varietals, this winery has vino for every palate. Bring some friends or go solo. Either way, you will have fun with the inviting staff and flirtatious owner. Salut.

What a cool place! They have food now so you should check it out for some brunch! They have a tasting option for 8 bucks and bottles for purchase. They have coffee (regular joe) and lattes (fancy joe) with soy milk even! WOW Don't be freaked out by the male mannequin at the counter... it's creepy, then funny! I love the inside of this place with it's historical feel and the barrel bathroom sink is ridiculous! You'll want one too! We went for coffee this time but I'll be back to do the tasting options!

The owner is very welcoming and inviting. Today was the first time open and we happened to find it. All local Texas wines and a trolley for sightseeing fun. It invites a return.

As I was cruising down Davis street to meet up with friends at another wine joint my brother and I spotted this cool spot. I just had to go check it out, so I made him turn the car around and it turned out to be better than I expected! The manager/karaoke singers Elias and Lauren were amazing!! I had a great time with them. Although they close at 11, he was nice enough to let us stay longer. And to top it off they had $1 special for frozen sangria's. Singing karaoke(with Elias and Lauren), Malbec, $1 sangria's Plus Vintage decor.... Man you know I'm all over that.. So my night was great!

Salmon spread is so so good

The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed, making it an easy place to settle in and actually enjoy the experience rather than feeling rushed through a tasting. We tried a wine tasting and were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed it. The Texas Tempranillo stood out with its depth and character, and the Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon was a clear favorite--bold, smooth, and well-balanced. I've also heard that Barons Creek hosts themed events, which adds another layer of appeal. The idea of pairing their wines with a fun or seasonal theme sounds like a great way to experience the tasting room. Beyond a standard visit, and I'm definitely looking forward to attending one of those events in the future. Take home message: Overall, this is a great spot for both casual wine drinkers and enthusiasts. Between the inviting location, quality wines, and engaging events, it's a place worth returning to.

I booked the Texas Wino Tour for my birthday celebration, and unfortunately, this was one of the…read moremost disappointing and embarrassing experiences I have ever had with a tour company. The day before our scheduled tour, after my friends had already paid and made plans, we were informed that our pickup and drop-off location had changed. That alone was frustrating and unprofessional because it created unnecessary inconvenience for a birthday event that had already been planned and paid for. On the day of the tour, we were picked up in a Sprinter van that had no working air conditioning, had an unpleasant smell, and appeared to have mechanical concerns. We also noticed that the engine light was on. What made this even more concerning was that we were told the pickup/drop-off location had changed because the other Sprinter van had mechanical issues. After we left the first winery, we noticed that the warning light appeared to have been covered with black electrical tape. That was extremely concerning and made us feel uncomfortable about the safety and professionalism of the transportation. The tour itself was also not what was advertised or expected. We were supposed to visit three wineries, but we only visited two. There was no real tour guide experience. The driver stated that he would be both the driver and the tour guide, but he barely said anything the entire time. When I asked him about the air conditioning, his response was, "This is as good as it gets." That was shocking and unacceptable, especially considering the cost of the tour and the fact that this was supposed to be a special celebration. The second winery, Pemberton Winery, was a terrible experience. The wine tasted spoiled, sour, and unpleasant, almost like apple cider vinegar. Several people in our group were concerned about the quality and safety of what we were being served. The person presenting the wine also lacked warmth, personality, and hospitality, which made the experience even worse. At the very least, if the wine was not enjoyable, the customer service should have made up for it, but it did not. The food was also disappointing. The Italian meal did not taste like authentic Italian food. I ordered the white fish, and it was not good at all. The salad was good, the drinks were fine, and the gluten-free bread was good, but overall the meal did not meet expectations. Honestly, I would have preferred barbecue served on the winery lawn over the meal we received. This tour did not feel classy, organized, or professional. There were no souvenir glasses, no engaging tour guide, no real hospitality, and no attempt to make the experience special. It felt like we were treated as though we had paid very little for the tour, when in reality this was a paid birthday celebration with a group of people who expected a quality experience. What makes this even more disappointing is that Texas Wino Tour never offered a discount, a partial refund, or any meaningful apology for the poor experience. Many people on the tour were complaining, and the entire experience felt disorganized and unprofessional. I was embarrassed because I had hyped this tour up to my friends for my birthday, and it did not come close to meeting expectations. My group handled the situation with class and poise, but this experience was unacceptable. Based on this tour, I would strongly recommend that anyone booking with Texas Wino Tour ask in advance about the exact wineries, transportation, air conditioning, tour guide, food, and what is actually included. Also, I would personally avoid Pemberton Winery based on our experience. This was not the birthday wine tour experience I expected, and I am extremely disappointed.

Our evening started with a cocktail hour, during which we got to meet other guests over a glass of Roots & Water cabernet. We loved the cab - light and elegant. Once we were seated, we started with a glass of champagne with east coast oysters. For each course, one of the chefs came out to explain the dish and the inspiration behind it. Chef Adrien explained to us that he and Mollie had curated a menu of aphrodisiacs for Valentine's, and the oyster was prepared in a way that brought out ocean feels. We definitely tasted, felt the ocean waves with the soft red beet foam atop the oyster! Our favorite course of the menu was the soup/pasta dish - fideo noodles with tomato saffron brodo, generous pieces of lobster, and crispy leeks. I'm usually not a fan of tomato-based sauces, but this soup was SO delicious! Not too salty, not too powerful in taste, just right. The noodles were done al dente, with a slightly firm texture in every bite. And the lobster pieces were so soft! We devoured every bite of the entire meal, but we ultimately agreed this course stood out the most! The main was definitely a hit, too! It was braised Texas wagyu with root veg puree, herb emulsion, mushroom, and lots of truffle! We loved the strong flavors of the wagyu paired with the puree - so soft, so fluffy, subtle in taste. And the red that went with it *chef's kiss* We were also impressed with the potato dish - ambrosia fingerling potato with duck fat, burnt crema on top with caviar, ikura, trout roe. Who woulda thought caviar and roe go well with potato! And the crema to balance out all the flavors. We liked how the potato was sliced into perfectly thin pieces for each bite. For the dessert, the panna cotta was paired with a white wine, which we appreciated, as we're not big fans of port/dessert wines. We liked the balance in flavors with the sweet-citrusy taste of the panna cotta and the refreshing white. All in all, I could feel every ounce of attention and love poured into every dish, and we were very, very happy campers by the end of our dinner experience. Thank you to Roots & Water for hosting, as well as the chefs and sommeliers for curating an all-around beautiful experience. We hope to be back soon for some wine tastings!
