Went here for a firm holiday party. The food was varied and really tasty--simple but very nicely prepared. The wines were excellent. But the best thing was the service: the proprietor and servers were friendly, helpful, attentive and really very charming, and in the challenging environment of a stand-up party where everyone was moving around. Really like the food but this restaurant seemingly discriminates against families with young children. We live down the street and have tried coming multiple times only to be turned away because they have one highchair for the entire restaurant - and it's taken. In the past, the single highchair had been broken so our family was turned away. Knowing this, I called to reserve the highchair, was told I could have it, showed up, and it was given to another guest who needed it, so my family was turned away. It's honestly laughable. Super cool and cozy place to grab a bite to eat and a nice drink in Laguna. I love the atmosphere for both the inside and outside seating. The selection of wines is great (lots of good ones to choose from) and the menu has lots of tasty offerings, all of which pair well with whatever drink you choose. The staff always have great suggestions if you don't know what to go with. The Margherita pizza is always a good choice, but the spaghetti and meatballs is great too. The good: Loved our waiter he super friendly and helpful, atmosphere was great (during covid), good wine choices (obviously!), appetizers were great especially Cauliflower Polpette. Not so good: The Fungi pizza was dry, didn't have much cheese or sauce on it, and could've had more mushrooms to live up to its name. I grew up in Laguna Beach and truthfully hadn't been back as an adult in years. Well, the time finally came when I was searching for a place to take my mom out to dinner to and we came across this gem! I was skeptical since neither of my parents (who are locals) had been here, but it did not disappoint. The ambiance was awesome, and the pizzas exceeded our admittedly high LA standards. Delicious! We loved all three that we ordered. The wine selection was excellent too. We left happy and excited to go back again when the cravings for great pizza strike! So my daughter and fiancé were visiting from Colorado and we decided to make the trip down to orange county to the wine gallery. The wine gallery opens at 4:30 PM which is a perfect time to start an early evening. We arrived around 4 o'clock or so and the restaurant is a stones throw from the most spectacular and beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean. Having grown up in Southern California, my daughter was happy to be back in the sunlight and the sun rays of Southern California, and the day was perfect for it. When we returned to the restaurant a little after 430 we were seated immediately, and from the very onset, the service, the appetizers, the adult beverages, and the food were spectacular. We started with the truffle fries with dipping sauces and they were DELICIOUS! The truffle ketchup was insanely good. The evening ambiance is warm and inviting, the walls have many shelves featuring wines from across the globe, and the wooded furniture brings a rustic sensibility. My friend had to grab a few bottles to pass across the table for the wait staff, which was not ideal and a bit cumbersome, dampening the mood slightly. Ordered some food for the wife and I, one of the items was the $14 cheeseboard which was insanely skimpy, I mean sad for the amount. To make things worse they charged me and delivered a meat and cheese board instead that was $27. We don't eat meat. I paid an extra $13 to be grossed out and pick at 3 very small pieces of cheese. When I called right away to ask for a manager for the refund, a young girl said he wasn't there? I had to insist for a call back hoping it would be an easy fix on their end for the inconvenience. After leaving my info, the manager never even bothered to return the call. I guess they only care about money and not their locals supporting them. read more

Nice experience having some shared plates, pizza and wine. Service was excellent, wine preferences were discussed and recommendations were spot on. I had a nice glass by Chappellet winery, a bold red blend. They offer full glasses, half glasses and from 5-6 (I believe) happy hour. Happy hour is $2 off wine and some small plates are discounted. You may purchase bottles of wine to try there or to take home. For snacks we split the spicy cauliflower which was excellent but eat it quickly as it's not tasty cold. We also shared a mushroom truffle pizza and a cheese and salami plate. Both were good and the blue cheese was a standout on the cheese plate. This was two much for two people so we took most of the pizza home. The street parking can be a bear as it's on PCH. Parking behind it in a garage or on a side street may be best. Where to start with the compliments on my evening there last night, should I start with the service, the wine, or the food? The staff was great! As soon as we sat down we were immediately welcomed and over the course of the evening a few people came to check on us, and strike up a conversation. I told the bartender that I wanted to try a new kind of wine, and after explaining what I like he immediately picked one that was quite great, especially at the price point. I was very impressed. Their by the glass wine menu had a number of wines I enjoy, and they had a fair number of beers on tap for those who prefer hops over grapes. We had the Beets and Burrata dish, the Grilled Artichoke which had a really great sauce. We also split a peppers, mushroom and sausage pizza, which tasted great. If they had a meat lover's pizza we would have been all over it as we had only ordered veggies and cheese up to that point. Then we finished the night with the baked brownie a la mode. The brownie was amazingly good, and came out piping hot while still incredibly moist. The heat of the brownie was perfectly offset by how cold the ice cream was. The ambiance is slightly upscale casual, with lots of laughter in the background. The time we were there wasn't good for people who are low talkers, it was loud in a pleasant way. They also had a woman playing a guitar while singing giving the space a good vibe. Definitely a great date location, or just a place to spend time with friends while enjoying casual drinks and food. This visit I ordered the cauliflower polpette ("meatballs") to start and they were a nice creative idea (I may play around with creating my own version for my vegetarian family members) but a little charred, though still enjoyable enough. I also got the short rib tacos which were fine but not really notable. I did hear people next to me enjoying their Calabrese and Margherita pizzas, so maybe those are more noteworthy selections? Service was good but not above and beyond. For example it took the bartender more time than I would have expected to realize my glass was empty and I needed a refill- considering I was sitting at the bar. However I did get my food quickly and the place was fairly full, though not packed. Had the most amazing meal last night! Our server, who was very nice and helpful suggested the gnocchi. It was a St Patrick's special. Very very creative with a brown butter gnocchi, small spring vegetables a fantastic sauce topped with melt in your mouth slices of corn beef. One of the best dishes I've ever had in the area. We also had the cauliflower polpette, crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside. We always order these as they're one of our favorite items on the menu. Notes of cranberry and chocolate hit my tongue, and for a moment I forget about Gerald's promotion. We decide to split an appetizer of bruschetta with fig jam and goat cheese. My God, what a treat! It felt like we had stumbled into a trattoria in rural Tuscany. Next came the star of the show: the pizza, a bianca pizza with a lemon, garlic and arugula. It was enjoyable; however, as someone who has tried thousands of pizzas, I found the dough pleasurable, yet ultimately not in the ranks of some of my pepperoni memories. Every time we come to Laguna Beach visiting the Wine Gallery is a must. Last time we were here was over a year ago, the place is cozy as always, the service fantastic (shout out for Sammy for being so attentive and caring) and the food delicious. My hubby and I ordered pizza - I had the Margherita he had the pizza of the day with meatballs, peppers, mushroom, mozzarella and tomato. My philosophy being Italian is that if a place makes proper pizza, you will know by trying the simplest pizza they offer. Well here the Margherita was light and delicious, thin and with crispy crust, good job!!we also had a carafe of Cabernet which is about 2 glasses of wine, one each. To start off, their host team needs work. We tried to enter the restaurant with two girls sitting next to the door watching us trying to open a locked door (at 5pm when they were open). While they watched us struggle to open the door confused thinking we were there before they opened we then asked through the glass "are you open?" And they said yes and realized the door was unlocked and let us in. We then told them we needed two high chairs, they tried to seat us at a high top bar table with two toddlers then told us they do not have a single high chair and moved us to a table. Absolutely not a kid friendly place. Moving on to service, our server was kind and patient and went above and beyond to help us. We were visiting from out of town we didn't know it was this type of not kid friendly environment. Anyway, she was great and the food was also amazing.
