They gave me a reasonable quote right away and said they could have a technician there within an hour. The technician called me as soon as he was on his way, and his ETA was only 15 minutes! In the meantime, we found out that one of the roommates could come let us in. I called back to cancel, fully expecting to still pay a $89 service fee since the technician was already on his way and almost there. To my surprise, they told me not to worry about it and canceled everything at no charge! The entire experience was so easy, and every interaction was quick, friendly, and professional. Even though I ended up not needing their services, I was genuinely impressed by their kindness and customer service. Truly night and day compared to other locksmiths I've dealt with in the past. I would absolutely recommend them and will definitely be calling them again if I ever need a locksmith!

I shopped around but the most value was ordering it online from an automotive remote site. I interacted with Adam and he was able to show up on the early weekend morning. His text are professional and clear, & he included pictures. Mazda even as far back as 2005 (car was delayed as released as an 2006) used a key card. There is a chip in the card and one in the valet key. Mazda blank metal doesn't have all the slots cut into the blank either. Getting the car to go into reprogram mode didn't work because the console said I need two "keys." However there is a chip in both the medal key and card. So one transmitter set will work, or should have. He drove an hour back and forth to get the other generic key and had to modify it with a Dremel rotary tool so that the key would have tolerance to get through the tabs on the ignition. That didn't work and he is coming back next week to try again with just another chipped key. Didn't charge a trip fee for making a round trip, nor for the generic key that didn't work. I will spread the word within the MazdaSpeed group so they can get help if the elect to get the Mazda key card instead of generic. At least have one original card and one generic real key. At this point I elected to tow it to Mazda DG for them to try with my key. Because if I buy theirs, its considered an "installed electronic part," and they won't accept returns. Too risky for $400. If they can do it I just pay for 1/2 hour of programming. Worst case I have to buy their key, mine is also OEM (not eBay/Amazon). His company slogan should be either 'The Locksmith from Lockport,' or 'The Lockport Locksmith.'

He told me he would arrive in about an hour, and about ten minutes out gave me a courtesy call to let me know he was close by. He not only fixed the lock, he also tightened up the screws and the screen door (that would slam shut previously). Make sure they tell you the prices up front. Had I known all the other charges they added after they got here, I would have never booked them. I love supporting local businesses, but not ones that knowingly take advantage of people by not being upfront with costs so we can make an informed decision. No mention of any other fees when I made the appointment. I called several other locksmiths after to check and sent pictures and was not quoted more than $200 to $250 all in for what they charged nearly $700 for. They took advantage. The fob of my Honda CRV key had broken so I called them to get/program a new one. I offer to have…read morethem use the old blade, but the technician says that it's the same price to program a new electronic piece with or without a new blade. Fine... So I asked him to make a new blade. It doesn't go in as easily as the old blade but whatever. Fast forward 3 months later. I notice that my key sometimes takes a bit to lock or unlock the car. One night it doesn't work at all and it takes 45 minutes of trying to get into my car. Also, at this point I notice that the poorly-copied blade doesn't open the physical lock on the door! When I call Chicago Locksmiths about this, the technician says it's Honda's fault with the door and that the car key battery is probably dying. He was surprised when I told him that the old blade worked with the car door. So the following must be true 1) They made me a fob that only had 3 months of battery life or something is wrong with the transponder in the fob they programmed. 2) New blade was not properly cut. Update: They offered me a partial refund, cut the key into better shape, and reprogrammed a new fob. All done very quickly and conveniently. Came to my house to do it.

I bought the key fob a car and truck remote for $104 in Dale had Active Lock And Key programmed it and cut the key for $240. It turns out my car was locked to prevent a new key fob from being made because it was a previously leased car. Dale Figured out how to unlock it. And created a new key fob that works perfectly. Also showed me how to get into my car or should the battery on the key fob died which was useful information. I am extremely happy that I found him.
