I thought this place was pretty good and it had relaxing atmosphere to meet for a ladies' day out. We sat in the bar area. We all ordered salads, mine being the Wrigley Field. The fried chicken tenders that were on it were thick, crispy and had a nice, mild flavor that wasn't overpowering. They went well with the salad, which also had bacon, blue cheese crumbles, hard-boiled egg, blended with a balsamic vinaigrette. The only complaints I have are the waitress didn't check on us or refill our drinks. She was very friendly though and our food came out pretty fast. Would go bank again when I'm in town. read more

Fabulous thin crust supreme Chicago style pizza except Chicago pizza is cut in squares. You can take the girl out of Chicago but you can't take Chicago out of the girl. Thin crust was buttery and very tasty. The toppings were all under the cheese just like Chicago style. Plan to go back for another pizza and try the pan pizza. Wait was long. Service was slow and tables were serviced before us when we were sitting before them. When the food came out we were missing one persons food. The onion rings where cold. First off, the service was great! With that being said the food was not great. The salads came out with lettuce past it's prime and were drowning in salad dressing. I ordered the Broccoli Pasta with chicken and it was bland and soaking in oil. There is so much on the menu the cooks can't do any of it justice. Deep dish pizza was the worst pizza we have ever had. Couldn't eat it. Was dry , lacked toppings and the crust tasted like a bisque

We loved the atmosphere. Staff was friendly; service was a little slow but we could tell that our server was busy so that was understandable. Would have given five stars if the food was better. For a place that calls themselves the Windy City Grille I was hoping that the Chicago style deep dish would be better. We also had the french dip (sandwich named al capone I think) and the hot wings. There wasn't much flavor in any of the food except for the hot wings but it was just your typical hot wing sauce which would be hard to mess up anyway. We plan on giving them another try and ordering something different from the menu. read more

My husband and I were spending the night in Hernando. We decided to find a restaurant online. This certainly did have some great offerings at least on paper The greeter was so nice, we zhad high hopes. Our server gave me about 45 seconds to order (she came back twice in less than 90 seconds). The pretzel was great. The rest of the meal... Not so much. The au jus for the french dip was brownish water. I ordered the dirty chips and got cold and soggy fries. I couldn't ask for the waitress to replace it because she never came back. He finally had to flag her down to get our bill in and out in less than 45 minutes. I am so sorry we stopped here. Funny thing is extremely busy so you would naturally assume that the food in the service were good. Hopefully this was just a of night. read more

My family and I eat here often and have tried pretty much the entire menu. My mom loves their catfish. It's perfectly fried and hot everytime. My dad loves their chop steak. I love their blackened tilapia and tomato basil pasta. If you're getting broccoli and want it soft, make sure you let them know or else they'll bring it hard. Other than that we've liked pretty much everything on their menu that we've tried (toasted ravioli, wings, seafood pasta, sliders, chicken sandwich, and more). The only two things that haven't been well liked were the mozzarella sticks and cheeseburger. The mozzarella sticks were so thick we could hardly chew them. My son had the cheeseburger and didn't like because it's charred. A little overcharred. Their pizzas are really really good! Stuffed full of toppings! Their chicken tenders are HUGE. Their drinks are great....and strong. So proceed with caution. We've always had great service, even when they're short staffed...which is often. We've only had one issue with service. We waited for a hour to be seated just to be told that management had decided not to seat anyone else due to being behind in the kitchen...yeah that didn't fare well with our children at all. The restaurant is pretty dark. So it can be hard to see the menu if you have vision issues, so be sure to bring your glasses. read more

Horrible place, waited 45 minutes 3/4 of the people that came after me turned around and left hosted us rude won't sit more then four outside and won't let you split a party of six to go inside , the people that were in front of us walked out bec they wouldn't seat them bec all their party wasn't there they were a few minutes behind so gave there table away after waiting almost an hour. Been here three times same result every time, we end up leaving and going some where else. Either the owner just doesn't care how much business he is losing bec from I see I can assure you he losses half of what the place should be making. I would be getting new managers or something cause that place is horrible. Hope I run into the owner in town to let him know how many people walk out there disappointed. Limited places in town to eat once Hernando grows and more eating places come up I'm sure this place won't service the long haul. Good luck read more

I don't like to give bad reviews but the service and quality warrants it. Even for a Friday night the wait to be seated was long and that set the stage for the evening. Very long wait times to put in an order, receive drinks and get our food. Severely mediocre food. The seafood pasta smelled just like seafood you wouldn't want to eat. Not terribly priced and that's, maybe, the one good thing. It would take a lot for me to return and give it another try but I'd certainly pick a different night of the week. read more

This is my favorite restaurant in DeSoto county, so it pains me to leave a two star review. My review is totally and completely based on the rudeness of their staff. Customer service is essential to success of a restaurant. In the past few months, we have been treated rudely by a waitress who started our greeting by telling us the kitchen was closing soon. Tonight, I was told my a hostess that they were not taking pickup orders. It wasn't the fact they weren't taking takeout orders as much as it was that I was talked to like a second class citizen. What a disappointment! Went there on a Saturday night and with several open tables was told it would be 20 minutes before we could be seated so that the "waitresses could get caught up." Decided to try another night but call in to go so as not to run into the same problem. When I called, I was told they weren't doing to go "because the kitchen is too busy." The place is dark except for the one glaringly bright window in the front of the building. If you sit near it then don't look that way. It's blinding. We had a party of 5 so they sat us at a table for 4 and jammed us all together. There was plenty of open seating but they chose this spot. The table wobbled so bad our drinks almost fell over and when we got moved to another table I went to move my chair and the entire seat came off in my hand. The lady working up front seems in a bad mood and wasn't friendly or welcoming at all. Pizza crust was soggy and had turned to mush by the time I got to the last piece of a 8" pie. This place has a very casual ambience and two room - the bar has plenty of tvs to watch various games and the dinning room is more quiet with both booth and table seating. The appetizers seem to be more for the bar area rather than an Italian restaurant, nothing bad, nothing great but certainly not Italian. The pizzas are meh but the pastas are where it's at. Although the portions are smaller than Italian the value is in the flavor - this is easily my favorite Alfredo. All pastas come with a salad which makes the meal fully satisfying. I have yet to have one but the sandwiches I've seen go to other tables look plentiful and yummy. I've yet to try dessert. Service has always been good on my multiple visits and the place is kept incredibly clean. A couple will leave here with a tab under $35 and full bellies! read more

Local recommended WCG's when we were hunting for some Mississippi Mud Pie. Actually it was the wait staff from another restaurant. People here are so awesome that they want to make sure you get a good deal. $3 gets you a big plate of warm chocolately brownie chunks with caramel and nuts, and topped with vanilla ice cream. Not for nothing but casserole masquerading as pizza and hot dogs with cucumbers on them aren't my bag. So the wings are pretty good. I would suggest you specify well done. I had a flat bread pizza it was a non-event. Full bar. Bar dining and a separate dinning room. Parking ample. The one weird thing about the place is they always seem to be in a rush too close. Being new too the area maybe there's a law or something. Service is dependent on who is working. But generally it's ok. Given other options I would try them. read more

We have ate here probably a handful of times. Pizza was good, and the rest of the food is just average. Biggest problem is service and time to it takes to eat. We've actually sat down in there before and sat at a table for 15 minutes and nobody came by our table. So we got up and never came back to Windy City Grill again. The chicken Alfredo is not that good. The pasta and sauce were fine but they put CANNED CHICKEN CHUNKS in it too and it's hella awful. The hail Caesar salad was a fool too. The one in Como, Ms is AWESOME though! I'd recommend that one for sure. read more

We're two 20 somethings who wanted to visit a local bar for football & beer. On our first visit, we were amazed at the prices as well as the sports/pitcher deal (I'm not sure how long that will last). The waitresses were super friendly & took care of us. We split the greek pizza (so good)..Did it take awhile to receive our food? Maybe a little, but it is always busy on the weekends, so that's understandable. Meanwhile, we had our beer, cheese sticks appetizer & flat screen tvs to keep us satisfied. After the great 1st experience, we have been coming back almost every weekend for the past couple of months for beer, football and food. So far, we've had the chicken tenders basket (great price and lots of food), calzone, beef sliders, and chicken alfredo pizza. All has been great, but the greek pizza remains to be our favorite. The bar area crowd is typically 20's-middle age. Pros: cold drinks, drink special, entertainment, great atmosphere/lighting, can sit outside & smoke if you need to/casual, great bartenders/waitresses Cons: a small wait for food, but completely worth it! read more
