Our two pizzas took approximately an hour, maybe over an hour... Greek Salad - Came out right away. Decent size, more than enough for the 4 of us to share. Mr T-Rex Pizza - This is like Little Caesars's 3 meat treat. Okay, but I actually like LC better. Willie, Cheech & Bob - I liked this also, but other than my wife, we all took the jalapeno off, for the safety of the people behind us when we go line dancing, lol. Topped with their signature cheese blend, pepperoni, onion, and green peppers The cheese is SO good and the crust is the best texture and flavor. It's buttery, flaky, and crispy like a biscuit almost (similar to fresh Pizza Hut breadsticks if I had to make a comparison to one of my guilty pleasures) I typically always leave the ends of the crust but I ate every piece of this one. Aldo's is one of our favorite pizza shops. Every time we order a side house salad with their excellent homemade ranch which is a must have for any pizza restaurant! After salads we are creatures of habit and always order the slice of the day. Todays slice was pepperoni pizza with red onions and spinach. The slices are large and come out quickly! Pizza was good, but not spectacular. I split the one with the mango chutney with a friend because it sounded the most interesting. I liked it a lot, but not sure it's worth the drive to go to Aldo's in the future when there are so many other great pizza places around. The menu is a little limited IMO. Also, this is what really irked me...they automatically tack on 20% tip regardless (7% for to-go orders) on in-house dining. We definitely did not have 20% tip service. Wait time between order and pizza drop off was extremely high for just pizza (restaurant was not busy whatsoever) and we were neglected in the entirety of that time - no refills, no checking on us whatsoever. We only got refills once the pizza was dropped off. Forcing people to tip a certain amount (especially one so high) is enough to make me not want to return. I'd be okay with 10% added for in house dining with the option to add more, but 20% is absurd. And forcing anything except just the option to add a tip for to-go orders is ridiculous. read more

The servers were attentive and brought out orders out fairly fast. Firstly we tried the meatballs and hummus for an appetizer. They both were pretty good. There are quite a few selections of pizza to choose from including options to fit all dietary needs. Someone in my party was gluten free so they made a pizza to accommodate her. The rest of us enjoyed the Memphis (pulled bbq pork topping), chicken pizza, cheese pizza, and a meat lovers. They are not stingy with the toppings at all and the slices were huge. Oh yea, if you're feeling fun & free as I did, be sure to try a delicious cocktail. I had the Nutella martini and it was delicious and gave me the bite I was seeking. So I will say the food here is great. I order a Nutella martini every time I come. For food my go to is a customized vodka pizza with seasoned shrimp and roasted red peppers. I then sometimes top it with the oil served with garlic knots. This meal is chefs kiss. The cons are The wait stuff is attentive but they seem to always be short staffed. This is surprising despite my next qualm - that gratuity. Dine in gratuity is 20 percent which is annoying but doable for a middle class person with no children. I do not believe this is doable for many couples with multiple children or people just looking for good and cheap eats. While I can appreciate Aldo's trying to take care of their staff I do think it impacts people's tips and might alienate non upper middle class families looking for a fun night out. The black olives were a savory accompaniment to the fresh and crisp red onions and green bell peppers. The mushrooms added a familiar earthy flavor. In my opinion, Aldo's has the best pizza in Memphis. I usually order takeout and they manage to consistently have my order ready in 15-20 minutes. The crust is always perfectly toasted and I haven't had a bad pizza. Some of their funkier options like Willie, Cheech & Bob also shine, but I typically stick with their lighter Margherita. My girlfriend can't have dairy and orders a cheese-free pizza, and it's honestly sometimes better than mine, which is something I rarely say about pizza. It's a testament to their fresh base sauce. When I've dined in, I enjoy the urban Memphis aesthetics and they have a nice outdoor roof area when the weather is nice. Tuesday nights at 7 pm have trivia which I'd also recommend. read more

I've been to a lot of pizza places so it didn't really jump out at me to be honest, but it is a good pizza spot if you want a change of scenery from pizza hut, little Ceasars, etc. I wasn't a huge fan of the Canoli. It may just be me, though. I didn't get enough sweet from it, and I was hoping for the crust not to be as hard. One thing that is a takeaway for me is that even on a slow day, they have a policy that you are not allowed to eat your food there if you order it to go. I guess only To-Go orders matter for dinner hours. We arrived around 6:45pm and were warned that there was a 30 minute wait by our waitress. I wasn't too hopeful of that when I saw a party of 6 behind me and checked if they got their food 40 minutes later. Near the 50 minute mark they got their food and I'm sure they were there longer than that. Because they were buzzed off their drinks and talking and laughing loudly from their drinks with no food in their stomachs. 1 hour and 15 minutes later, still none of the two pizzas were out. To go orders were flying off ovens to the customers over 12 times. The cooks ignored dine-in orders almost entirely. We were promised our food would be out soon 3 times by our waiters and waitresses . We got up to leave around 8:00pm and paid for our subpar grandma's meatballs and soft drink refills. We will never come back to dine in or order from here. It takes way too long for lunch too; it's more than a 30 min wait. Want to avoid the wait and would like some spicy, delicious food that comes in a timely manner? Come to India palace! It's the place we went to after 1hr30mins of no dinner from Aldo's! They have excellent service, a staff that truly cares about you; and can give you your first taste of authentic Indian cuisine.
