They don't make it easy..Detroit 10x8, 10" Deep Dish (NB only 35.made.daily??), Calzones, 13" Classic, GF Cauliflower Crust, and a 18" Chicago Cracker thin--say wh@t? Never heard of this, all more reason to return! All cooked in an Italian stone deck oven 600° not quite the leopard spotting of neopolitans but it's pretty decent having just tried the Detroit Pepperoni and Deep Dish $22 and $28 Deep Dish Big Apple. Oven rendered crispy lil pepperoni cups and a decent crusty cheese edge on the Detroit, and a puffy pillow crust on the Deep Dish. Latter misses the buttery yellow cornmeal firmness of signature Chicago Deep Dishes though, and the puffy dough does get a little dry and more chewy less crisp as you get to the end of your slice and as time outta the oven ticks on. Rotolo's spicy sausage are thin slices not crumbled that I was expecting and sure bang a bite, it's very good. Shaved Brussel Sprout Salad $14 with pesto honey mustard, not too sweet was the most inventive salad that I've never seen before. Gave the pepperoni to my guest and still delish with crispy romaine and grape tomatoes, parm & bright zesty banana peppers. It's huge and enough for 3 of us. Didn't add but Chix was only $3 to add or $5 for fried /grilled shrimp! Hubby's real IPA 4/5* and Wisconsin N/A Untitled Art Juicy IPA $6 were very flavorful. Both a cloudy lemonade color, good hoppy bite, clean finish though the real IPA's is short not lingering, it's better on the NA actually, and prefer over more commonly found Athletic IPA 5/5* Waitress was a young student, attentive and lots of them running around, she did a great job, refills, order, checking in, out. I have been there inside two or three times and only the first time was the service good. The next two times they were completely rude. So I thought today I would order delivery from Grubhub only to have my order canceled without explanation. Today we tried Rotolo's for the first time. We ordered two large pizzas - 1 half cheese / half pepperoni, and 1 pepperoni / bacon. I'd say this place is better than average for Tennessee, but I don't think this place would survive in a more competitive market. The crust was almost right... decent flavor, a little chewy and with a tiny bit of char. Definitely better than I've found in other TN pizza joints. The toppings were also slightly better than average; they used the little cup pepperoni instead of the cheaper option. Bacon was little crumbles and were fine. Cheese was fairly standard... not anything special but good. My main complaint is the sauce. The sauce is just bad. It's not even the right color. Sauce should be light and bright. It should taste fresh and lively. Their sauce is very dark and sweet. One more minor complaint is that their large pizzas are pretty small. You'll need two larges for 3-4 people, and possibly more if you have teenagers in the house. I will say the staff is friendly and everything was ready on time. Overall, Rotolo's is decent. I wasn't disappointed as this region is not known for good pizza and this place is better than a lot of the other options here. Went to Rotolo's in Memphis, TN on White Station tonight for my brother's 61 birthday dinner. There were 10 of us there. Our waitress was great. My comments are no reflection on her. The problem was the how long it took to get the food out and that we had hair on our pizzas. 1. Yep, of the 6 pizzas we ordered, 2 had hair as part of the toppings. We sent them back. 2. The food was so slow coming out that several of us got our food after everyone else was finished eating. In fact, we had to have one of the orders put directly in a to go box. All in our bill was $299. They were kind enough to give us $10 off a future meal there. Yep, that is all. No apology, I'm sorry, or any concession - just $10 off a future meal that I will never use because I won't eat there ever there again. My suggestion is by-pass this place. We got the Detroit style pizza- it was all dough. not what I had expected. the pizza should have a balance of toppings and the crust. The Chicago style was good but a the sauce bit acidic and sour. over all experience was good. Not impressed. Sunday, just after noon. Sat at table and no one stopped by until I (rhetorically) tripped somebody walking by after 10 minute wait. Went to restroom to wash hands and there were some paper towels but the trash can just had an as yet unopened bag lying on the side of the bare can. There were only 2 fork/knife/napkin setups at our 4-top table, and ice skating and volleyball populated the 5 TVs observable from our seat. Bottom line - no body is really paying attention. Menu was less than expected. We ordered two 13" pizzas. They arrived essentially un-cut so we had to Have them sent back to somebody allowed access to the sharp cutting wheel. The flavor was ok but nothing worth posting about - other than the annoyance or heavy toppings on half and then the other half relatively sparse (photo posted). Truffle fries had a good flavor but were drenched in oil and such. When a recipe is so-so, the cover routine is to douse it with sugar, cheese, or salt. The server was very nice but I noticed the crew spent a lot of time in their little dugout. Judging but the number of servers eating (is that even appropriate for servers to be eating with their hands and such them serving others?!) - the dugout has the best service in the place! Very similar experience of so many restaurants: expensive build out by an owner who isn't around much. Little managerial eye to the details and by month 6 everything is mediocre. We had two or three gnats flying around which was strange - but I notice other reviewers have mentioned as well. Bottom line...if I'm going to drop $80 (incl tip) for 3 people for a basic lunch - I'm expecting better service, better food, and attention to the basic details. read more

We drove past this place, not expecting to eat here. But as I read the online menu out loud in the car, my wife practically u-turned on White Station Rd. to go back. It was me mentioning "Detroit" style pizza that lead to her switching lanes without a signal to turn around. The restaurant is very nice on the inside. Great looking bar area, although we didn't sit at the bar. They have a nice selection of beer and ciders and cocktails. I tried a cider I've never had before and it was delicious. I think it was called Hot Mess Express, and was seasonal. We got the cheese fries and they were amazing. Very different from traditional restaurant cheese fries. 5 stars. 10/10. Top tier. Try them. Then we got the Detroit Pepperdine pizza. The crust was amazing. So good. The sauce and cheese were also top notch. The pepperoni were the cup variety, so they were tiny and crispy and delicious and even though the menu said it had "a lot of pepperoni" my wife and I agree that it wasn't, "a lot," and that it needed at least 3 times more pepperoni. But, delicious, without question. This place is way out of our way but we will be back. You want to try this place, trust me. I would never steer you wrong on pizza. read more

It's ok - has potential. Let's break this down Service- kind of wonky. The greeting upon arrival was weird. There were like 6 workers in the entry and no one greeted us for some time. Then we were greeted twice by the same person in 3 minutes like we weren't standing there the whole time. Not terrible- just weird. Server was ok- didn't know the menu or much info about the food choices, but it is kind of new. Food- really good! Got a pizza and wings. Both were very delish. I'm picky about wings. But they passed. 2 complaints here - the 13 inch pizza size is weird, not big enough for 2 but a little too much for 1. Cost for one 13 inch pizza was too much. Complaint - wings came in a bowl with a plate as a lid. The side touching the wings had a sticker on it (pic added). Not traumatizing, but definitely made me question if it had ever been washed. Yuck. Ambience - just ok. Slightly less cool than I thought it would be. Kind of cheap looking - especially at the cost. I'll try this place again. Oh yes highly recommend this place. One of my few favorite Italian places in Memphis!! Their sauce is thick and flavorful, boudin sausage balls have a nice kick to them, the Chicago deep dish is outstanding, and their beer selection is too notch with a lot of varieties I never tried before. We've given Rotolo's several chances, but our last few visits have sealed the deal--we won't be returning. This most recent visit was on a Sunday early evening. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was relatively quiet, which should have made for a pleasant dining experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. We ordered salads and specifically asked for them to arrive before the pizza. Technically, they did--by about two minutes. When I mentioned it to the waitress, her response was a dismissive look that said, "What do you want me to do about it?" Not exactly the kind of service that makes you feel valued. We decided to eat the pizza while it was fresh, but it arrived completely cold. Throughout the meal, we had to flag down the waitress just to get water refilled, then again for a different dressing, and there was no follow-up after the food was delivered. No check-ins, no attention. This experience mirrored our previous visit, which we had hoped was just a one-off. Sadly, it wasn't. Even the tip--10%--was met with visible irritation from family members, despite the service barely warranting 5%. Rotolo's had potential, but consistent poor service and lack of care have made this our last visit. read more

This place is in a small strip mall. Plenty of parking. I like the outdoor patio and small lawn area. We came on a Friday evening and the place was packed. It did not take long for us to get a table. Staff is very friendly. Cocktails are not that strong but they taste good and very reasonably priced. Pynk Panther and Long Island Iced Tea are both good cocktails. The calamari is sauced in a sweet chili sauce and sits on a bed of greens. The calamari was sweeter than I expected but still tasted good. I ordered the combination calzone. I was able to try Craft and Crust for the first time. I stopped by on a Friday afternoon and was able to get seated right away. The server came over right away and was very friendly. There were a lot of good options to choose from on the menu and even some vegan-friendly options. I ordered the fried shrimp pasta with zucchini noodles and shared the brussels sprouts with my son. I was pleased to see that zucchini noodles were an option! Oh my goodness - the dish was wonderful! It was very tasty and creamy and the shrimp had great flavor.. Let me say that I absolutely love different varieties of shrimp pasta. This was the first time where I'd tried fried shrimp vs grilled. (Not the healthiest option, but it was GOOD!) Little garlic knots were included with the dish. The brussels sprouts had great flavor and the texture was just right. Overall - I was very pleased with my visit. I noticed that there was a nice covered patio on the side of the restaurant, so I will look forward to returning when the temps lower a bit. We were looking for something different and came across Rotolo's. I am a fan of Chicago deep dish so I couldn't resist. My favorite is Giordano's in Chicago, but this ranks right up there! My wife had the grilled shrimp tacos and really enjoyed them. My daughter went with the Chicken Alfredo, which is her all-time favorite, and she ranked it 8/10 starting the Chicken was super tender. The facility is nice and comfortable and the service was fine. I wouldn't say the staff went out of their way but they didn't do a bad job. We will absolutely go back and I am looking forward to trying the Detroit style pizza. read more

I have been wanting to try for a while. Finally made it in for lunch. I had a slice of pizza and wings. My companion had Brussel sprouts and a slice of pizza. Upon arrival it was all underwhelming. Just an ordinary slice of pizza on a plate. The wings were lukewarm at best. The brussel sprouts had a nice presentation and did have a good flavor. I was less than impressed with this place. I am still partial to the pizza shops in Chicago & while this does NOT take my tastebuds to that wonderful place -it's still good. Pros: + Food is good. While I haven't tasted everything on the menu, my friends like the different meals & come back -from the pizza to the pasta! + People are friendly. Take the time to chat & explain the food. + Clean appearance + Easy parking + Price ... well, prices keep going up everywhere, so I understand. Order was hot & ready when I got there + They use my favorite seasoning: Tony Chachere's !!! + BONUS: They have a couple of outdoor games: Mini Golf & Corn Hole! For me that's a great thing! ... but for others in my party it was not.) Please consult with your server if you have low tolerance to spicy foods. I've been to Rotolos twice now, both with a larger size group during lunch. I've had a good experience each time so far! They do get a little busy so I'd say take an earlier lunch if possible. I ordered the calzone, and I love that you're able to pick any of the specialty pizzas and make it into one! I choose the krewe. It had marinara, mozzarella, pepperoni, bacon, cheddar, feta, and parmesan and it was delicious! It's a pretty large portion so you should have plenty to save for later. The staff has been very nice and we haven't had any problems. There is a huge parking lot but it can become pretty crowded since some of the other shops in the plaza are busy as well. read more

Delicious food, adorable atmosphere, and awesome staff. Great outdoor area with patio tables and an area for cornhole and a small putting green (would be great for kids).
