Terrible, terrible customer service. Does not honor their "lifetime" warranties. Never returns…read morephone calls. Been dealing with window issues for over four years with no satisfaction. Now patio door wheel mechanism breaks and they can't do anything about that either regardless of their supposed "lifetime" warranty. Jennifer, who answers the phone, is rude and condescending, continually telling us that we "have not done everything we need to do to resolve this issue. What more should I have to do? And Peter, the owner, only returned our call after we made a complaint to the BBB telling us that the BBB "can't make me do anything." He made promise after promise to "make things right" and never did a thing to honor his warranties. Shameful. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION from my previous comment : After the complaint with the Better Business Bureau, Peter threatened us with legal recourse citing words such as "libel" and "smear campaign," but agreed to complete the project if we would remove the BBB complaint and negative reviews. Emails have gone back and forth since September 14 where Peter, numerous times, commits and agrees to completing all repairs on 11 windows and replacing the patio door. In turn, we agreed to remove the negative reviews once repairs were done to our satisfaction, even though as a consumer we have a right to write such reviews. In the early morning of September 24th, the day a representative from National Energy was to come out to measure, we had a tragic family emergency. My son made several attempts that morning to contact Ron, the repairman who was coming out to measure, but he did answer his phone. One of my children met Ron in the front yard and explained the situation, stating that we would be in touch to reschedule. On October 21st, I contacted Peter via email to reschedule the appointment to measure the windows and door. I received an email response stating that he now had concerns and wanted me to sign agreements indicating that I would remove negative reviews, even though we had already agreed to this in prior emails. Peter further stated he had contacted the Better Business Bureau and was told that in order to remove the complaint we filed back in July, we should backdate an agreement from July of 2020. When Ron came to measure on November 23rd, he brought copies of agreements already signed by Peter, one of which was backdated by him to July 9, 2020. I was not comfortable backdating an agreement that never existed back in July, so I signed the agreements and dated them 11/23/2020. Because I would not backdate this agreement, which I was advised is unethical, and possibly illegal, Peter is once again putting all repairs "on hold." Additionally, back in September, because Peter was refusing to repair our patio door, we were forced to hire a repairman (with 30 years of window and door experience), as the door would no longer open, close, nor lock, now being a safety issue. We paid this repairman $75 to do a temporary repair. We shared this invoice and pictures with Peter to prove that the patio door itself was broken, NOT the mechanism/hardware as Peter kept repeating in his response to our Better Business Bureau complaint. On November 16th, Peter included in an email that National Energy spoke to the repairman, who told them "the door damage may have been caused by mistreatment of the door. The roller mechanism was packed with dog hair and it appeared that it was forced shut, and this is what broke it, in his opinion." I contacted the repairman and he unequivocally denied ever saying this. This man actually responded in writing to me that Peter's comments were not true and, as a matter of fact, he did not feel the door broke due to mistreatment. This is another of Peter's attempts to get out of the warranty, now by stating "Mistreatment of the product is not covered under the warranty." I have all of this in writing via emails so Peter can refer back to these when he wants to threaten me again with a lawsuit. I will continue to edit and update my comments until National Energy and Peter Gatsch honor their word and fix my 11 windows and patio door.

His advice was good and I'm very happy I took it on a number of things. I felt he was clearly looking out for my best long-term interests. They were easy to talk to and collaborate with, and attentive to the extra details that make so much difference. I and everyone who sees it is delighted with the finished project. Made it just in time before the holidays, thank goodness. We had a closer and significantly cheaper bid (basically 1/3 of this company's charge) but they were not available Wed the 19th, and with the holidays and weather changing...could not risk waiting. Wed was the last sunny 50s day and all went well. Customer service was good. Workers were on time and completed tasks appropriately. Dings on stars for 2 things... the install isn't as even and perfect as I prefer (the tops and flashing pipes are not straight and it looks like the shingles were not peeled back evenly and placed back over the pipes fully on the lower bottoms)... and the owner said he would send me a receipt when the check cleared. Usually receipts are given at time of payment. Seems strange and made me pause. Note... it's been a week, pretty sure the check has cleared. Hmm. No receipt yet. *\(^o^)/*

We live in an older brick two flat building in Lakeview. Teufel Roofing and Tuck Pointing has…read moreworked on my building on three occasions. About 15 years ago, Teufel Roofing tuck pointed the front wall of our building and rebuilt the front parepet wall that was leaning dangerously towards our front yard. It was a difficult job especially since the bricks in the front facing the street are over 100 years old and are extremely unique and irreplaceable. Many of the bricks were damaged and unusable. It was agreed upon that since we might be short of bricks during the rebuild that a slightly different design for the parepet wall might be necessary in order to have all of the front bricks match perfectly. The rebuild of the parapet wall was completed and it looked perfect with the redesign. The pricing for this job was extremely affordable. Two years ago, the chimney attached to our two flat needed to be replaced. I am sure it was the original chimney from 1911. Every year I would go up on the flat roof and "patch" it up myself, so you can imagine what it looked like. The year the chimney was replaced, I finally got up to the roof in October and I was rather shocked to see that this chimney was ready to fall over. It would have never survived the winter. Stuck in my head was the image of the chimney blowing over onto my neighbors house during a winter storm. Long story short, I called Teufel for an estimate. His estimate was the most reasonable by far. Also, since I had worked with him previously, I had no concerns about Teufel replacing the chimney. And of course the finished product turned out to be perfect. Our most recent project with Mr. Teufel was last Fall in 2018. As you recall, 15 years earlier I had the front of the building tuck pointed and the front parapet wall rebuilt. For many reasons, I had never gotten around to having the two side walls of the building tuck pointed or even maintained properly. Life happens, one gets busy and time passes. Most of my maintenance projects had been inside the building and therefore I really never closely looked at the outer side walls of the building. Sure I would glance at these walls in passing, but never with a critical eye to assess their condition. Long story short, I am guessing that the side walls had not been attended to for at least 30 or maybe 40 years. Needless to say, they were a mess. Of course, I immediately called Teufel for an estimate and we discussed all of the specifics as to which areas of the walls would be addressed and which areas required the most time and work. His estimate was very reasonable. The work on the walls started and I left town on a several day trip. ( I used to work for an airline ). I returned from the trip and the work on the walls had been completed. The walls looked great except that his workers had done more than twice the work for which we had contracted. Every previously compromised surface on both walls had been addressed and looked very good. The extent of the work completed was way beyond what I had expected. I offered to pay an additional amount to cover this extra work and my offer was politely refused. Truly, Mr. Teufel is an honorable man. Long story short, Teufel Roofing and Tuck Pointing has worked on our building on three separate occasions and we were well satisfied with the results of each project. We will not hesitate to call Teufel in the future, if the need arises.
