Window Design Group (Also listed on Yelp as WINDOW FASHION PROS: http://www.yelp.com/biz/window-fashion-pros-simi-valley) is an unprofessional sham! I question the legitimacy of it being a business. It is a matter of time before the California Department of Consumer Affairs and attorney general's office intervenes on this supposed business. I scheduled an appointment to have shutters installed in my home. Regional Sales Manager Keith Dwyer was initially professional and personable but I can't say that for the rest of the employees of this company. Keith promised that the shutters would be ready in 2 weeks and someone would call me to schedule an appointment to measure the windows. I received a call a week later from Sherry. Her tone was rude and she was referring to me by my first name in a familiar manner. I inquired to why I had not received a phone call the previous week and she lied and said she called me. To add further insult to injury, her next available appointment was a late afternoon on a Saturday. At that point I scheduled an appointment for a later date. On the date of the appointment someone called and hung up. After waiting, I went outside and found a card from the VP of Installation Tony Margott with the following written message: "Sorry We Missed You." I immediately called and left Tony a message. He never rang the door bell or knocked or left a message! After leaving my initial Yelp review for Window Fashion Pros they began calling incessantly. I decided to give them a chance, BIG MISTAKE. The guy who came out for the remeasure tried to have me sign paperwork that stated I had received the shutters which I spotted and questioned. He claimed he did not know why the paperwork was worded like that. I crossed out the false statement before signing. After about 3 weeks I called Keith Dwyer inquiring about the shutters and he made up some lame excuse, I immediately knew something was fishy about this company and told him to refund my money at which time he became belligerent. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company and Window Design Group lied to the credit card company and told them they had delivered the shutters and they altered the paperwork. The credit card company eventually refunded my money. IF YOU DECIDE TO PLAY RUSSIAN ROULETTE, DO NOT SIGN ANY PAPERWORK AND IF YOU DO TAKE A PIC OF IT. THIS IS A VERY SHADY BUSINESS! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! This company uses their contract as a weapon against the purchaser so that they get out of their shoty workman ship and the fact that they promise they can deliver but cant/wont. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE THE WORST!!!! 1st time - They come the first time to install to find out they do not have all the parts to complete the job. They wrote the order down wrong and I had to pay an additional $500+ to get it the way I wanted it because they were not willing to make it right. 2nd time - truck broke down. 3rd time - personal problems with the installer. 4th time - office unable to contact installer. So I am sitting at home again, a wasted day and four months later the job is still not done. Save yourself the headache GO WITH ANY OTHER COMPANY. It sucks being in the position I currently find myself in. UPDATE - 5th time (month 5 dealing with this crap) and yet again the installer does not have everything he needs. I am now being informed that they cannot deliver what was promised. They are offering me a cheaper product but do not want to reimburse anything. I had to ask if they thought I was stupid, BECAUSE I AM NOT. I have had to dispute all charges on my credit cards and I am having to file with the BBB because they are refusing to take all of their crap product back. UPDATE - The company is refusing to give me items already paid for. They are refusing to give me money back for installation that only half has taken place. THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY EVER AND I AM SO SORRY I EVER DECIDED TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. save yourselves...... I just want this sad sorry nightmare to end. Home owners beware! This company operates on a very thin line between fact and fiction. I would suggest that you find another company that is more reliable and honest. After ordering shutters for several windows and waiting for a longer time than what was promised us the shutters were installed in our home. They looked great! After the installers left we discovered that from window to window the thickness of the shutters varied and were not uniform. Also some of the window shutters had a rough texture to the finish when they were to be smooth. Some shutters were smooth and others weren't. We called the the Window Design Group to point out the issues we were having. It took them about six weeks to have the original installer come back to the home to look at the problem. They said they couldn't see anything wrong. WOW! So we called the company back that sold the shutters to us. About a month later they said there wasn't anything they could do as the installer said the shutters were ok? We challenged the credit card charge and we were issued a temporary credit. The Window Design Group then started a dialogue with our credit card company claiming that within the contract that it states that tolerances on thickness can vary by as much as 1/8th of an inch. Then suggested that the shutters were supposed to be a smooth finish and so they think that our housekeeper used some kind of a cleaning agent the destroyed the finish. They didn't offer up any other information or a contract that showed thickness tolerances were baked into our contract. At this point our credit card company suggested we hire an independent contractor to inspect the shutters and write a professional opinion supported by pictures. I have never experienced a more difficult company to deal with, on every aspect, unwritten fees, inept quality, transparency and honesty. When they came to install my windows, the installer told me they could not install the windows because the windows were for "new construction", however, my house is over 30 years old. When I contacted my sales rep, he told me that I had to tear down the header above the window, which would have reduced the integrity of the house, and tear down the stucco surrounding the windows. I was flabbergasted! I could not believe they were asking me to do this. The sales rep came by my house with an installer and after explaining that this was not in the contract, the sales rep became argumentative and rude, I told him to leave. I then had to contact the manager and after numerous emails, and phone calls, they agreed to take the stucco off the exterior walls, I told him there's no way they're touching the header. I ordered two windows for the dining room - both with the same size and overall dimensions. They delivered windows with different size panes - they did not match. This set off yet another flurry of emails and phone calls with their manager. They were very peculiar regarding their invoices. The invoice will not give an itemized detail of the products that were ordered. Only the quotes were detailed, so when it came to paying an invoice, I noticed that they were charging me $2400 for 4-foot-wide screen. Again caused more problems. I did everything I could to compromise to get this job done and these people out of my life. When the windows were finally installed and they are asking for final payment, I asked him if they had building permits - as per their contract they said NO. There is absolutely no way all the positive review are real. This company is completely unethical in so may ways including the fact that they continually change their license number which was confirmed by one of their installers(who was an honest guy) in an attempt to dodge BBB ratings and law suits. Some background on my situation: Ordered shutters in January of 2015 and was told they would be installed within 6 weeks. 8 weeks later without prior communication was told it would be another 2 weeks due to unforeseen circumstances. Called Window design group to find out when shutters would be installed. Customer service rep was extremely rude and bullying. Long story short, 9 months after they took my initial deposit, the shutters are not installed properly despite several phone calls and multiple letters. I asked to talk to the owner regarding the situation and was told that they are a Corporation and there is no one higher than the customer service manager to talk to. Then was later told they would send my complaint to the owner. That was 3 months ago. I don't know if my project will ever be finished. I've tried contacting the Better Business Bureau, but they were already revoked from the BBB months ago!!! Please check for yourself. i checked out several companies before settling on Window Design Group. They were very close to my location and that was importaint to me compared to some of the others out of LA & all over the place .. you want someone you can find easily if there is a problem ...& there was never a problem with this outfit ... very professional from estimate to installation... The day they arrived to install my 6 windows ( & one was a kitchen bay window ... they take longer to install) they arrived around 8 am... the truck pulled out & the job was done around 3:00 pm The house was cleaner when they left than it was when they arrived !!(don't let my wife read this part.. ... she'll kill me lol) for real... they cleaned as they worked ... right up to when they were washing the new windows they had just installed and let me tell you something about the quality of persons they have working for them, I've had many contractors over the years come in & do a job on my house ... I have always offered a refreshing cold beer to them once the job is done I have never had any contractors refuse one yet ... till now ... When they finished the job tired & sweaty from working in the heat all day & were getting ready to go i said .. "how bout' that cold beer I promised you guys ..." they said ... "Thank you very much sir ... but we'll have one at home " I was blown away ... well done, well done ... they weren't there to drink my beer ... they were there to put in my windows & represent the company ... I highly recommend this company over any of the others out there 5 Stars all the way ... will be calling them back when I'm ready to do my patio sliders & front door package without question ... I found Window Design Group on an advertisement offering 35% off, so I decided to call for a free estimate. I was fortunate enough to deal with Mychael Margott, who was truly amazing. He spent a great deal of time with me explaining all the different options that could potentially work for my home (he came over twice to answer all my questions and show me samples). He was pleasant, patient, informative and professional. I had done my homework and met with 5 other outfits as well. I must say, that the Window Design Group's pricing was unmatched by any other company I had met with. I ended up doing Shutters, Blinds, high-end sheers and a complete window replacement with them, resulting in a total of 25 windows. I had no false expectations on the lead-time required to get everything, which wasn't too bad. I did run into a bit of a problem with the sheers I ordered (came in defective) and the window replacement (minor issue), but the company was very responsive and quick in correcting the problems. Their installers (Lee and Anthony) were great...you couldn't find 2 nicer and more capable guys! Overall, their service has been phenomenal! I highly recommend the Window Design Group to anyone who is interested in high-quality window coverings or replacements. I'll be going back soon for the rest of my windows! read more

I had a terrible experience with Window Design Group and would advise anyone against doing business with them. After paying a deposit for their services, I was left completely in the dark with no communication from their sales rep, Kevin Bowers. Despite multiple attempts to contact him by phone and text message, he never responded to any of my messages. As a result of Kevin's lack of communication, I reached out to Window Design Group's phone number and was met with an unhelpful receptionist. Even she had trouble reaching Kevin, and eventually, she provided me with the contact information for his manager, Chris Margott. However, my attempts to reach Chris were also unsuccessful, with no response to my calls or texts. It's been a while since I've heard anything from Window Design Group, yet they have not refunded my deposit nor delivered any of the services they promised. It's a clear case of taking money and failing to deliver. I want to warn anyone considering doing business with Window Design Group to be extremely cautious - no matter how "helpful" or convincing the sales rep may seem during the initial meeting (especially if they are asking for you for a deposit). If they ask you for a deposit, I would strongly advise against it. You will likely never see your money again. read more

Was referred to this company by my friend Glen when we were remodeling our house, so I decided to get windows and shutters from WDG- Everything's been great! They did a great job with designing and installing as I needed everything to be custom. Step 1- they sent a designer for the consultation who made recommendations and took measurements. It's good that they send a designer and not just any joe shmoe because he was actually very helpful in giving us suggestions and we ended up changing some things around because of his recommendations. Step 2- bid was sent to us, we signed the contract and sent out deposit. Step 3- our windows were made, they called us and set up installation and everything turned out great. After we were satisfied with our windows, we decided to get shutters from them as well, and I am very satisfied. Since we were returning customers they even gave us a better price. Do not get shutters or any product from this company ever!!!!! They are a total night mare!!!! 7 months to get my shutters and rollers. They give you a good pitch and they do have good prices, but they are totally disorganized. They have sent several installers on several occasions to my house with the wrong products, wasting my time again and again. I have several pictures of the products they have sent with the wrong sizes. Do not buy any products for them, they are a horrible company, 7 months and counting to get an order (I'm still waiting for my shutters and rollers). One of the installers quit and took part of my order with him (I don't blame him for quitting, probably couldn't take the clients complaints and the disorganization anymore). I've worked with many companies prior to Windows Design Group and they were by far the best! In fact they exceeded my expectations. Not only was everyone with the company and at the office extremely friendly and professional, but when I worked with Kevin i could feel personal interest he took in every detail of my project and always felt in good hands. I was also always kept updated and informed on what was going on and what to expect. Every worker not only did exemplary work, but was also friendly, respectful, and professional. Project managers were routinely on site making sure everything went smoothly. I even ended up unexpectedly doing additional work in my garage ( 2 ugly windows were replaced with two beautiful ones ) because the work was so good. We had three bids on replacement windows for a rental house that had been trashed by tenants. Chris Margott showed up promptly and explained the benefits of their company's windows including the fact that they came with serial numbers that allowed for future replacement without a remeasure should something unforeseen happen to them. The windows design and construction were impressive. Even better, Chris promised they could make and install the windows within the three weeks I had to work with when the house was being shown to prospective tenants. Sheldon and Renee installed the windows a couple of weeks later and did a great job! They were professional, skilled and very friendly! Our experience with the Window Design Group was 100% positive!
