They have first rate customer service and know their products and what will fit into your budget. In fact, one of my older blinds became defected 15 years later and they sent me a new brackets to repair the blind. They know their stuff. We had the most terrific experience getting our window treatments through Window Decor, I'm so pleased with how smooth the process was and how quality the treatments are. I visited the showroom with a good idea of what I wanted, but still with questions, and the person working was knowledgeable and kind. I had a limited window to schedule an in home consultation and measuring, and they worked with me to fit it in. Courtney arrived on the day of my appointment and was also extremely knowledgeable. She was very patient with my dozens of questions, these being my first window treatments to purchase. I needed to make a final decision between a couple of options, and she didn't pressure me whatsoever to place the order that day. When I emailed a few days later to finalize and place the order, she was very responsive. I even had some follow up questions about the order, and she responded quickly that time as well. When there were supply chain issues with back ordering, she was prompt to let me know right away. In addition, because the back order was only affecting one type of treatment, we asked if they might consider coming out twice to do separate installations if the back ordered shutters still wouldn't arrive (this was after four months of delay) and they were happy to set a date and do them separately if both hadn't arrived by that date. Truly going above and beyond in my book, since they can't do anything about the manufacturing process! If I had one tiny criticism, I was a bit disappointed because I was trying to decide between shutters that opened from the middle or out to the side. I discussed with Courtney that I like to have them open during the day, and she recommended ones that open to the side for that reason. Unfortunately, once they were installed, they do not stay open. I would have selected the other style had I known this. It's not a big criticism, but something I was a bit disappointed by. We recently bought a townhome in Ashburn that has double patio doors going out to the deck. As the morning sun is so intense, we needed to protect our floors and furnishings, so we went on a search for high-quality motorized Solar shades. Courtney Overholt came out to our home and brought lots of samples - we were able to find the size shades we needed that would block 95% UV rays. The Hunter Douglas shades we chose have a remote control and an App for our phones so that we can program the opening and closing of the shades. The service was great and we love our new shades! We talked to a number of companies regarding shutters for all of our windows. Courtney came out and explained the differences and costs as well as the best look for our project. She also took measurements during her visit, which a number of sales personnel from other companies do not do. This allowed us to quickly determine price and speed up the process (We recently had the entire house repainted and had to take down all the window treatments. Living without window treatments is basically living in the dark as everyone can see in). The shutters arrived in less than a month with a quick date to install. We would highly recommend Window Decor of Fairfax. We talked with five different blinds companies before deciding to go with Window Decor of Fairfax. Window Decor of Fairfax had legacy name brand Hunter Douglas blinds for a reasonable price that actually beat third party brands, and were the ONLY company that could inside mount the blinds for our shallow windows plus figure out how to install a top down/bottom up blind for a long, narrow window next to our front door. Their customer service was outstanding. They responded to all emails the same day, answered all of our many questions, and sent out a second installer (the company founder) to tweak our blinds after we noticed a few crooked blinds after the first install. My husband and I stopped in to the show room, and Brenda almost immediately took us to the least expensive blinds. We were looking for window treatments for our Arlington home. I was interested in plantation shutters and Roman blinds, and she said "those are very expensive". She opened up a book with the least expensive version and said that they would work fine. I was very offended. Nonetheless, we scheduled an appointment for her to come to our home, thinking that perhaps I misunderstood, and I wanted to give her a second chance. She sent us home with a book and told us to look through and decide what we wanted. Then, when I emailed her to ask a question about one of the options, she asked us to send her measurements. I asked her if she was still going to come to the appointment and she had forgotten that she's already scheduled one. I don't think she was really interested in serving us. We were wearing jeans on the day that we walked in so I suppose she thought that we may not have the money to spend. We found another company with great customer service and canceled our appointment with her. Snobby establishment. I stopped by the "beautiful showroom" as recommended on their website. It was a small, messy shop in a strip mall and there were broken blinds all over the floor that nobody bothered to move out of the way as I was tripping over them. Courtney is rude and pushy. As soon as she found out I only had a condo I could tell she was no longer interested in my business. She kept trying to talk me out of what I wanted, saying it wouldn't work. Then she would try and talk me into a product I didn't want, claiming it would be more affordable for me, as if she had any clue about my finances. At one point I asked her for advice on colors and she said that she wasn't a decorator and if I wanted decorating advice that I needed to go somewhere else. I asked her simply to come and see my home, but she kept saying that I needed to tell her exactly what I wanted before she came over. It was extremely insulting and not at all what they advertise. In the end I took her advice and am now spending my money with a true customer service oriented Hunter Douglas representative who appreciates my business and is not afraid to give me advice on color schemes. read more
