I brought in my wedding dress to be cleaned after my wedding, and they did an incredible job. My dress came back absolutely spotless and looked beautiful, you honestly wouldn't have known it had been worn on my wedding day! I was a little nervous trusting someone with such a sentimental and important piece, but Windmill Cleaners took great care of it and returned it looking amazing. I'm so happy I chose them and would absolutely recommend them to anyone needing their wedding dress cleaned! read more

My wife dropped off my dry cleaning at Windmill and after she picked it up, she asked me how much I thought it cost. I initially said $75 because that's what it would have cost at the cleaners I usually use. Nope, It was $185. Absolutely ridiculous and several of the items I'm going to have to have them redo. read more

This place sucks. I came to pick up my two piece suit after calling and them saying it would be ready by 3:00. It was not ready that time so I had to come back few hours later and it's still not ready. The owner had me wait around for 45 minutes + because the jacket was at another location, but the pants were here. They told me to come to this location because they do the cleaning here so why would the two articles of clothing ever be separated. I don't even know if they cleaned the jacket because of this shady interaction and making me wait around for almost an hour. What's the point of paying for it to be expedited and calling if they are lying flat out. Never returning customers beware. read more

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this business!!!! They have worked miracles on a silk blouse with grease, and they gave new life to dolls that were part of my sister's childhood. My most recent experience with them was my wedding dress. My husband and I had an outdoor wedding at Leo Carrillo. My wedding dress had a high/lo hemline. We took photos all over the property which had my dress dragging in the dirt at times, and between hugging everyone and dancing the dress definitely had stains on it. I went to look at it today before they boxed it up and I was speechless. It was as gorgeous as it was when I walked down the aisle. At the beginning of this year, I sold my home of 11 years and moved to Poway. I had to change dry cleaners, out of convenience, but I miss this place. That's why I came back to bring them my wedding dress. Thank you!! read more

Ridiculously expensive!!! $55 for two blouses, two dresses, and a pair of slacks.... And that wasn't even expedited service!! I won't be returning. read more

Maybe I'm just spoiled, having lived in the dry-cleaning mecca known as Clairemont Mesa, but I've now been shocked twice by the prices at Windmill. Their prices are triple what I used to pay at my old cleaner, and I don't notice any change in how well my shirts are cleaned and pressed. The hangers are really nice, but they're essentially still throw-away's. I will, without a doubt, never go back to Windmill. My wallet just can't handle it. I'll drive the 2 minutes to San Marcos Blvd. to save $40 bucks on a weeks worth of dry-cleaning. read more

I was witness to the owner getting surly with a customer in front of me... My turn! I was promised order for Saturday, as it worked out I picked up my order Monday so I was confident all would be well...where are the shirts? Shirts found after 5 minutes. Found shirts were not folded as ordered...Exasperated owner Steve stepped in and started to fold since employee 'didn't know how'. Process was painful to watch. After 10mins I couldn't wait any longer and I said I'll take the other 2 hanging. He said he would credit my acct...got a confusing call later saying order was rung up wrong and he 'didn't owe me anything' and the other lady before me was wrong. Obviously, he was still upset at the customer before me! Evidently she had uneven legs which caused bad custom tailoring!!?! Or was it because of the bad manufacturing of the pants, as he also suggested???? My bill is confusing even when I return his call. He started to argue with me when I asked him to detail the charges. I was just doing the math, which still didn't jibe. My math did show the following: Bad service+argumentative/angry people = no repeat business. read more

Windmill cleaners has excellent service. Will receive email when order is ready. There has been a very few occasions when I need a piece of clothing ASAP and if I bring item very early they have been able to process within 24 hours. I have been going to windmill cleaners for 7+ years. Highly recommend! read more

I brought nine items here to be dry cleaned. Upon pick-up, I presented a $20 off coupon. I was told by the employee at the front of the store that I should have presented it drop-off, thus, I couldn't use the coupon. I asked to speak with the manager; the owner ended up allowing me to use the coupon but made the transaction painfully long and I am not sure that I actually received the full discount. The owner also told me when I left that I must present coupons when I drop my items off as I left. Are you kidding me?!?....I shouldn't have to present a coupon when I drop my items off unless they are jacking up the prices and then subtracting the discount to equal the price it should have been originally without a coupon. Don't go here! read more

I used to live in Calrsbad, and was a loyal customer to Windmill Cleaners for years. I moved a couple months ago, but noticed a new location had opened! I went to 7-11 and was excited to see the familiar sign that read "Windmill Cleaners". I dropped by with my daughters wedding dress, which was handmade and passed down for generations. There were yellow stains on the once ivory satin and I was very wary to send it anywhere else. I brought it in, and as always, this cleaners never seems to let me down. The dress was just like it was on the morning of my daughter's wedding day. I told my husband and he was equally excited of the new convenient location. The new cleaners that we had been recommended to, had ruined his shirt countless times. We brought a load of shirts in that had been mistreated, and Windmill Cleaners did their magic again! We picked up nicely cleaned, starched just right shirts and my husband goes to work feeling good in what he is wearing. Simply the best place to go to for any given circumstance. I was greeted with their warm and friendly staff and they finished the job with superb service that is simply unheard of. I would gladly return at almost any cost simply based on their phenomenal service and the result of my order. I've been to a lot of cleaners but this is North County's best! read more

We have been customers for many years and have experienced consistently high quality and reliable service, both for laundry and dry cleaning. They also accommodate our special requests for starching, etc. read more

We moved from out of the area so I had to find a new dry cleaner. I was skeptical because of the reviews but decided to give them a try because they are close to my husband's office. I'm very happy I did! Without fail my husband's shirts have been perfect every week for six weeks. The turnaround is always less than a week whether is just shirts or other dry cleaning. The young lady that runs the front desk/register (I have to ask her name next week when I am in) is always very nice and pleasant. Nice and pleasant are two different things that is why I mention both. I have them a challenge and they were able to help; I had brought in some silk pillow shams that needed dry cleaning. They were in very bad shape--lots of stains. When the dry cleaning process didn't do much to take care of the stains I received a call from them asking if it would be okay if they laundered them and also let me know that there was no guarantee that it would work. They were very upfront. The shams turned out beautifully--almost better than new. What I appreciated the most is that they called when dry cleaning didn't work and that they were will to give something else a try as long as they had my permission. The address about says Vista but I believe that they are in San Marcos--very close to San Elijo Hills. I can't speak for the other locations. But the service provided at the Melrose Dr location is fantastic. read more

We have been using this cleaner consistently for our business for one year now. We have been very pleased. We shopped around the area and found that Windmill Cleaners on Melrose in San Marcos has the best price, great facility and excellent service. The owner is very nice and in involved in the business daily to make sure the quality is up to his expectation. read more

What a sad disappointment!!! After giving this Dry cleaners another chance because of convenience only....wow did I learn a difficult lesson about people and Integrity. One year ago they spilled some kind of chemical that left spots on my new linen pants and refused to take responsibilty of any kind saying I brought them in with a stain that they attempted to remove and it ruined them? I believe someone spilled chemical on them accidentally by the way it was splattered on them, but I was forgiving because of location convenience, my bad. Then just this week it became very clear to me what kind of man is the proprietor of this business. My daughter brought her BCBG prom dress in for a hem and don't know exactly what went wrong but upon pick up realized we no longer had a dress at all, but a short top! Again they refused to take any responsability for the tragic mistake, and even worse called my daughter a liar and tried to say that this was how she wanted it. Completely offended myself and my daughter when they simply could have, should have apologized and made it right in some way. I will say that the owners wife....seamstress...admitted to the mistake and that she questioned the front girl who pinned it incorrectly , that her husband and this girl insisted that it was correct and to just do it as is. She felt horrible about it, but owner refuses to take any resposability. It's one thing to make an innocent mistake, but another entirely when you deny, manipulate, lie and offend. Just do the right thing, simple, right?! So sad.....bad Karma!! Also, through this nightmare of finding a vendor to attempt to fix it realized how overpriced he is with both drycleaning and alterations! OUCH!! Beware, he has 4 cleaners in North County, all called Windmill Cleaners. read more

Used to go to this cleaners weekly. In the past 6 months they have ruined a comforter and now the zipper on an expensive jacket. When asking why they wouldn't replace the zipper they broke, a very angry employee told me they would never do that & when I confronted her politely she told me I had no right to be upset & threw my credit card at me. Will never return again! read more
