Chili dog with fries and fountain soda
R H.

The long branch location is my go to- but I fish near shark river a lot these days. So dropping in for a taste of windmill is a must when time permits. Hotdog has a good crisp out casing. Fries were of the skinny kind, but overall good l- bundled with a fountain drink, costs was ~15 dollars. Less than a McDonald's meal. Ample parking, in house seating and an enthusiastic staff.

Definitely a local vibe. While not the fancies food in the world, there is a bit of nostalgia associated with these hot dogs. Cooked on an open grill, they have a great char to them, and the hotdog quality itself is very good. The buns themselves don't seem like they are made fresh or anything special, but are still pretty soft. We all got a regular grilled hot dog, and topped them with different items. My combo was the sautéed onions and sweet pepper relish which was very yummy. The people behind the counter were amazing and super high energy. Super kind, and he had some pretty good recommendations.

We stopped here and order four orders of chicken and fries to bring to the beach. The serving sizes were very large and we could have split them. We drove to the beach and the food was still extremely hot and not too soggy. I really enjoyed the honey mustard they it came with. But then on my third chicken finger I bit in and something was a little hard. I spilt it out and there was a bone or cartilage not sure that was almost four inches long. I would have choked on it if I shallowed it!! I just spilt it out right away and couldn't even look at it. I was so grossed out for the rest of the day and everyone else stopped eating their meal. I will never go here again.

Always a good hotdog. Service is friendly, and it is a quick meal and as hot dogs go pretty darn good

This is the Belmar location of an iconic NJ restaurant chain. Stopped here on a summer day before hitting the beach. Friendly service! Happy customers! Cheap food! Quality portions and taste! And even a gigantic old fashioned gum ball machine to enjoy. We left feeling happy and satiated. Next time you are down the shore, it's a must see!

Windmill seems to be a shore staple and I never really tried it. I know they serve hot dogs but apparently they have burgers and fries too. The hot dogs are big but $6 for a hot dog?! Come on. The hot dogs did have a good snap to it. The problem is it was kind of dirty in there. The condiments weren't tidy and didn't seem appetizing. I stuck with the chilli dog and it was actually decent. The chili didn't have much flavor so I would get just a hot dog next time with sauerkraut and mustard. It is fast food so you can be in and out quickly. It has a convenient location coming into Belmar so if your hungry give it a try.

Cheese Fries / California Hamburger + cheese

CHEESE. FRIES. PLEASE. Best thing on the menu--hot & fresh crinkle cut oozing with cheese whiz. Foot long hot dogs, get 'em crispy skinned with warm sauerkraut can't be beat. Their hamburgers are thin but deliciously char-grilled... the Cali with LTO and mayo is necessary. Interior is dated and dirty, but it's that type of place--quick, greasy food! The Windmill... a classic spot along the NJ beaches.

I'm very familiar with this chain which has about six or seven other places. This particular one is on the corner of Route 71 and route 35 in Belmar. I must say the staff is pretty slow and make frequent mistakes on ringing up the orders. This is the second time here that the they messed up my order charging me for a drink I did not order. I must say the food is delicious though somewhat pricey. Yes, you can get coupons online every month for discounts. Watch for them. A hot dog costs $4.69 + tx=$5.01. A great dog with most any condiments you could want. The interior is a bit dirty and the garbage pails are always full. This could be duly corrected by management. Yes, The WindMill makes their own hotdog which originally were purchased from Schickhaus. Parking here is confined.

Food wasn't great and they sure make you wait for it. They have become a joke on the Jersey Shore and arrogant at that.

The staff was great, the food was hot. Honestly the best windmill in the area. Came close to closing and the staff was welcoming and kind.

The windmill hot dog was one of the big reasons you were a lucky kid if you grew up at the Jersey shore in the 60s.

First Time at Five Guys... and I'm Officially Obsessed! I…read morewalked into Five Guys in Ocean Township not knowing what to expect -- and walked out wondering why I waited so long to experience burger heaven. Ocean Township, NJ - Route 66 Location Let me start by saying: WOW. I'm honestly still thinking about the lunch I had today at this Five Guys location in Ocean Township off Route 66. This was my very first time trying Five Guys -- and I had no idea what I was missing out on until now. Walking in, the place had a fun and casual vibe -- bright red-and-white tiles, open kitchen, the sound of sizzling burgers, and the smell of freshly made fries instantly put me in the mood for a good meal. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely seemed happy to be there, which made the whole experience even better. Now let's get into the star of the show: the patty melt. I had heard people rave about Five Guys, but nothing could've prepared me for just how delicious this was. The patty melt came out hot, fresh, and oozing with melty cheese layered between two buttery slices of grilled bread. The beef patties were cooked to juicy perfection -- flavorful and savory with that satisfying charred edge that makes each bite feel indulgent in the best way. Add to that the sweet caramelized onions and a subtle crunch from the toasted bread, and I was genuinely blown away. It's comfort food elevated to pure magic. And of course, I couldn't skip the fries. Five Guys doesn't just give you a serving -- they give you a mountain of fries, overflowing from the cup and spilling gloriously into the bottom of the bag. Golden, crispy, and full of that real potato taste you can only get from hand-cut fries, they were fried in peanut oil to perfection. Salty, satisfying, and dangerously addictive. The drink station was clean and fully stocked, and I loved being able to customize my soda with the Coca-Cola freestyle machine. Bonus points for how spotless the entire dining area was, even during what looked like a busy lunch hour. What stood out the most for me was the consistency and quality. Everything felt made with care -- not rushed, not over-processed, just real ingredients prepared well. As someone who enjoys discovering new food spots, I can honestly say this experience went above and beyond what I expected from a burger joint. If you're in the Ocean Township area and haven't stopped by this Five Guys yet, do yourself a favor and go. Whether you're a burger fanatic or just looking for a satisfying, flavorful meal, this spot absolutely delivers. I'm already planning my next visit -- and yes, next time I'll be trying one of their famous milkshakes. Five Guys, you've officially earned a new fan.
