I love jazz, so when I found out they host a jazz jam once a month I knew I had to check it out. the venue itself is incredibly unique; a converted home transformed into an intimate concert hall. it creates an atmosphere you simply can't get at a traditional music venue. there really isn't a bad a seat in the house. no matter where you sit you feel close to the musicians and complete immersed in the performance. It is a BYOW. They have a bartender on hand along with the glassware so you can bring a favorite bottle, settle into your seat and enjoy the music. It takes the entire evening feel more like being invited to an amazing private jazz performance than going out to a typical concert. The jazz was wonderful, the atmosphere was wonderful, and even the owner of the home who still lives there was an absolute joy. there's something incredibly charming about the experience. it feels personal, welcoming, artistic, and completely different from the usual Orlando nightlife. Ive been to a lot of places around Orlando and this is easily one of the best hidden gems in the entire city. Ive brought multiple people with me to enjoy the jazz, and they all say the same thing every time. Where is this place? I'm lost in a neighborhood and can't find it... And my oh my, what a show it was and what a little local gem this truly is! On arrival, parking was a tad confusing as it is behind the school in the neighborhood it is located in. However, there is park parking - which is ultimately where we parked. It is in a residential neighborhood and can be a bit hard to catch if you are not paying attention to the building numbers. But we found our way nonetheless. Once parked, we walked down Timucua Arts and were immediately transported into this mini eclectic oasis. The pathway is adorned with beautiful plants and flowers decorated with little knick-knacks and garden decor. There's also a seating area with a table off to the right just before you enter. Once we entered, we were immediately greeted by the hosts, given our program, and directed into the main theatre space. We found our seats and waited for the show to start. The theatre has this awesome wooden pitched ceiling (roof) that carries the sound throughout the space very well. There is also a spiral staircase that climbs up two additional levels where additional seating can be found. After a quick wait time, the play/performance began, and we were fully engulfed in the wonders of "Into the Eye: A Sacred Storm." The performance was OUTSTANDING! Bravo to all! I am so happy we attended this performance because not only did we get to support local talent, but we also got to support a local business like Timucua! What a wonderful evening it turned out to be. This includes 2 cocktails that are inspired by Florida, gourmet snacks (which was unlimited rosemary parmesan popcorn). Make sure you dine before you come. You pull up to the hotel and we went to the reception desk to start our journey. They give you clues to find the bar itself which I won't reveal. They do not allow you to take photos while inside. The hostess greets you and has a dialogue and lines throughout the experience. We enjoyed the cocktails! Each out is explained by a narrator and has some type of interaction before drinking the cocktail. They provide flat/sparkling water while you enjoy the lo fi music and relaxing ambience. We waited around at our table between cocktails and were left without water a few times. At one point the manager brought us water but flat while we were drinking sparkling. He did come over and apologize which was appreciated. The team consisted of a main bartender, two narrators the hostess and manager. The manager during our 2 hours spent majority of the time with one table likely friends or VIPs which probably could have been better served assisting with waters and popcorn. The table next to us also mentioned they'd prefer a bottle of water at the table. Great suggestion! You are given a small token before you leave and valet is taken care when dining in. The valet also struggled to find our car which was alarming and then when they did locate it, we found the valet hang tag on the floor hence why they could not locate the keys. The valet person laughed it off like it wasn't a big deal. Personally, I feel like it was drawn out for time and overpriced but what do you expect for a bar inside of a high end hotel. I didn't even know this theater existed so I would definitely come back to watch other shows here. They have an area where you walk in and they have a bar and waiting stage. Then when the show is ready to load you go into another room with the main stage. There was free parking at the parking lot next to it. Just make sure you remember where you parked your car. I love supporting local artists so I would definitely check this place out again. I even got picked to be one of the models for the PJ party! So fun!! The cast also performs at SAK Improv so you can see them regularly over there.
