THIS IS THE GRESHAM WinCo - I'm done with WinCo...where my average length of waiting (over two months) to check out has been 28 minutes...today was the record and deal breaker, 35 minutes in line. There are 20 check out lines and ONE CASHER. If you go, I suggest you BRING a beach chair to sit on for checking out and get comfortable, because YOU ARE GOING TO BE WAITING!!! There's plenty of workers out on the floor, but typically only one or if you're lucky, a second casher. Maybe they can show movies and serve drinks for the scores of people questioning their life choices waiting in line...the line that never moves. read more

Worst grocery experience I have ever had. This place is over crowded, and you have to wait in line for 20 minutes just to check out. Even the busiest Costco is faster to get in and out than this place. Employees are rude, and they don't accept cards. What grocery store doesn't accept credit cards??? There were only 3 check out lanes open on a friday morning that was busy. All 3 lines snaked around the aisles because it was so packed. I know staffing isn't the problem because the staff is all over the store unboxing stuff on palates (and in the way). Do better!! read more

I haven't been to winco in months. I usually shop at natural grocers or fred meyers. I went to the store monday around noon for a few items the lines were long carts packed to the top my cart was only taking up the space basically of the toddler seat in the cart minus my bags that i brought. I decided to go through the express lane because I had few groceries and could get through very quickly and there was no line There. The lady there was very awful to me yelling at me berated me it was very degrading I tried to communicate with her and she decided to yell at me from the other side even a lady next to me apologized and was in shock. Never in my life have I experienced anything like that and the way that lady treated me that day I remained calm and treated her with the respect that I also deserved. I walked out of there fighting back tears and got to my car and cried. Will I continue to share this abuse that I experienced yes, will I ever shop here again not unless things are made right. read more

What I like most about this grocery store is that I can go there after 11:00 p.m. The bulk section is really great when I need some pistachios, peanuts or chocolate. They have a full stocked bulk spice section. It makes so much sense to buy 2 or 3 tablespoons of a spice for .60 instead of paying $4 for a bottle. If they had a lot more organic fruits and vegetables I would hike them up to 5 stars! This location also has a pizza/ pop counter. I like to grab an iced root beer on my way out. read more

Winco has now bolted tall metal poles to the back of the electric shopping carts that handicapped people use so the tall pole hits the top of the door of the store, preventing the handicapped person from driving the cart out of the store with their groceries to their car. Seems like an ADA violation there somewhere. How does the handicapped person get their groceries to their car if no employee there to help? I do 90% or more of my grocery shopping at this store. The prices are usually better than other grocery stores and the selection is always good. The big bins is where I can really save money, buying in bulk. Yes the lines can be long at times but if you pick non peak hours or days you can beat that. read more

The Gresham OR , just off Burnside, has a cashier that causes them to lose goodwill by denying the number of bags I say I am going to use and do. It has happened twice there and at no clerks at east side WinCos do this. Therefore, the clerks fights over 12 or 24 cents. If you say you will refund 6 cents per bag, you should do it. Also their signs are outdated. Silk milk was advertised a week ago for $2.27, but I didn't complain about them charging me $2.87. Today the price on tv dinners was off by $.08. Things usually even out, so why is a clerk so upset over 24 cents. Gateway WinCo has nicer clerks, but I did like the spaciousness of this store, even though further to drive. read more

They would get five stars when they get more organic food. They are getting more and more organic, but the selection is still very limited. I like the open space feeling of the place, and I like their bulk food section. They have a a lot to choose from. Believe it or not, they also have large beer selection. Quite often, the beer goes on sale. This is also a good place to go late at night if you're competing with your friends who's getting the most steps on Fitbit and you still need a couple of thousand steps. read more

My kids really like to the candy wall in Winco. but there was a Horrible self check out cashier SCO 2 in Kennewick, Washington store #00002. She was very rude! I never had this bad experience before at this store. She was mad at me and threatened me to cancel my groceries I already scanned because I didn't want to check out at different cashier in person instead I was willing to spend my time to do self check out by myself. I really like the bread their in store bakery makes - and their prices. The deli is good too. Sometimes some items in their fresh produce section are really high and prices have gone up across the store now that it's fall and the Covid thing is still raging on... I wish they had more handicap parking for when I take my elderly mom. We usually don't manage to get one of those spaces because the store is so busy. Still it's great to save significant cash on items most stores charge a lot more for. read more

Although the experience of shopping here ranks right up with getting through a Walmart-I continue to do it for the great values and quality they provide. 1. Bulk foods: they have a large selection of just about everything here at great savings and a lot of the items come local and organic. Can get flours, nuts, pasta, rice, and grains. I suggest buying containers and taking advantage of it. 2. Produce: it's the same produce they send everywhere. they just need a good washing. 3. Meat and seafood: I don't buy much meat here, and they lack good seafood. The selection of meat is huge but not much organic or local meat. 4. Other: great selection of foreign and hard to find foods. Also have Dave's Killer Bread at a great price. Bring your own bags and be prepared to bag your own groceries. read more

We visit this WinCo quite frequently. One of several stores that we frequent for our groceries. Personally, we buy a lot of our produce from WinCo. The produce is fresh and they have a good selection of both fruits and vegetables. I like their bulk items as well (beans, candy, spices). The meat selection is good along with their prices. The dairy and frozen foods has good variety as well. Their Deli here is great. We stop here quite a bit for their fried chicken and jojos. They also have sliced deli ham by the pound and an assortment of fresh seafood. There is also an in store bakery that has some delicious muffins, bagels and pastries. They also sell pizza here by the slice or pan. The value and cleanliness of the store keeps us coming back here for our grocery runs. There is also a RedBox inside the store. The store does well to keep the lines moving with lots of cashiers. Upon paying, you will be bagging your own groceries. This is preferred in our family and helps ensure that items will be grouped together accordingly. read more

I can't say that I could recommend this particular WinCo. Accidentally left cash back at the self checkout (yes, I know that was my fault) and when I asked if anyone had returned it I was told to call the manager the following morning. So, I call, the woman who answers the phone says the manager can't come to the phone and she takes down my information and says that the manager will check the cameras to see if anyone took it and I ask if there is anything they can do if it was stolen to which she replies that it is up to the manage (fair enough I thought). I get a call back later that evening by someone who was not the manager who tells that the manager couldn't see anything on the cameras and that I have to call loss prevention. I call loss prevention only to be told that it is not their job and that they will speak to the manager and have them call me back. I have since called back 3 times as I never received a call back and am consistently told that they will have to call me back. Seriously, if there is nothing that can be done, I will just have to deal with it, just maybe not jerk me around with the thought that I might be able to get my lost money back. I can certainly say that the obviously poor management will stop me from ever shopping at this location again. read more

I love WinCo. I have shopped there for 3 years. However I have called the store manager twice now, stating that they are not following the State Mandate. The cashier helping me was wearing her mask under her nose. She was cramming customers together in the bagging area. I spent $248.00 which means I had groceries backed up from cashier to bagging area. The cashier started ringing another customer on my side of the conveyer belt. The customer was standing right by me. I stopped what I was doing as asked for 6 feet of distance. So I had all these groceries to bag and so much hostility being directed at me from the cashier, the customer bagging her groceries right across from me, way less than 6 feet of separation. and the next customer waiting for me to finish. I went to customer service to tell them what had just happened. This is an exact quote from WinCo customer service representative " It's the customers fault! It is not the cashiers fault. We are not allowed to say anything to the customers." She did not have to start scanning his groceries. She could have chosen to wait until I was done. My advise to WinCo is as follows.... Not rocket science... Restrict the number of shoppers in the store. enforce the mask and distancing state mandate. Process one customer at a time. Use only one side of the conveyer belt. Do not crowd your customers face to face in bagging area. I know everyone is under an enormous amount of stress. Let's all take a breath and take note that making the most money possible is not the priority right now. Saving lives by following safety protocols is and should be our first priority. WinCo is a wonderful store with good prices, excellent fresh produce. I have enjoyed being their customer until now. It saddens me that I will no longer feel safe shopping there. read more

Gresham Winco. What can I say that has not been already stated? Affordable Selection Location is good We shop nearly exclusively at Winco, and I am thankful for the Hy-Top brand. If feels like you can get twice as much at Winco for the same price, and when you are trying to provide good meals daily and keep a small stock pile of food in the freezer and pantry... go to Winco. I am not a snob about brands, while admittedly there are brands that taste better, they are just crazy expensive for day in and day out indulgence. The produce is passable, if it is not onions and potatoes, I find myself taking a closer look at it first. Bulk section is killer, we love the bulk section for our pastas, baking, spices.. etc. The meat section is okay, some stuff I will stay away from but the petite sirloin, chicken breasts, and pork chops have always been just fine. The price is outstanding compared to other local grocery stores. You have to buy the family packs and freeze, but we do that anyhow, so it fits. Additionally, I like the seasonal aisle, always fun. In conclusion, we can keep our fridge, freezer, and pantry stocked for cheaper then anywhere else and eat the way we like. The place is open 24 hours too.. so for some on the off-shift, that is always a boon. One downfall, and it is really only a product of Winco being a great place to shop, it is the parking.. terrible! Always packed, but I cannot complain too much, as they have a huge parking lot, so it is not like they are not trying. read more

Why am i rating Winco ? Why does it get 4 stars? because Winco is hands - down affordable. Why is the same item $2-3 more @ Safeway? Why is the same item double the price @ Albertsons? Why is the same item more @ Freddies? ie - Beaverton Foods Spicy Mustard. ( great with fried chicken ) $1.69 @ Winco - Check the price everywhere else. I don't get it. Oh, is that why groceries have some of the highest profit margins in Retail? why do i know this? because i have to be really careful about spending now - and If I see a price on an item I normally buy @ Winco - the price difference I see @ a different store is immediately noticeable to me. sure, you have to prepare or freeze the meat items you get from Winco promptly, but that's a lesson learned from experience. The Produce can be hit or miss... Sure, they may not have ALL the "name" brands you want, but it's still hands down 35% - 50% cheaper than most other well-known grocers. I know alot of poor people shop there - but hey, you want to see the "real Portland" and save a little money for the gas tank - check it out sometime if you already haven't. read more

Ugh. Admittedly affordable and absolutely my go-to for bulk foods and household cleaning supplies and paper goods. Dammit. Why Winco? I could totally just hit up the (super freaking expensive) co-op by my house, or even Freddies on W. Burnside. The closest one to me is either Gresham on the way home from my day job, or Hillsboro if i'm home in NW. Winco is cheap, i'm a single girl, yes their produce usually sucks but sometimes I suck it up. But listen. There's a specific way I go about my trips to Winco. 1st: Make my usually lengthy list of groceries needed. 2nd: Hightail it to a dive bar and have 1-2 stiff cocktails. 3rd: Get my ass to Winco before I lose my buzz and commence buzzed grocery shopping. Why does it have to be done this way, you ask? Because alcohol is the only thing that keeps me sane amongst the clusterfuck of families with all eight of their kids in tow, and the anxiety-inducing war on shopping carts right-of-way in the aisles. Winco prices are very low, and quality and variety are excellent. Fresh produce is a strength. Well stocked with staple items, and a decent selection of Latino food items. The bulk foods aisle is also a strength, with a nice selection of seeds and grains, cereals, spices, and candy. The meat department, like the veggie aisle, is well-stocked with staple items such as chicken breast, pork and beef. Overall, just a very large, well stocked grocery store, with prices that blow all the other chain stores away. read more

They used to be cheap until I went grocery shopping in February 2020. I was shocked how expensive things have gone up in price and when I asked one of the grocery clerks why they increased there prices she told me because gas prices have gone up but that's a lie. Gas prices have not gone up!!! By where I live it was 2.79 and in gresham gas was $3.12. So that's not the reason. I usually just come to Winco to do my monthly shopping but I can't do that anymore. Now I have to check adds and comparison shop and do coupons. I'm sadden by this. Ih and I posted on winco about there prices going up and they deleted my post! I used to pay $2.01 for the good string cheese it was cheaper than the winco brand and now its $3.68. There Hillshire lunch meat was a great price in the $2 range know there more expensive then walmart can you believe that!!! They jumped up to $3.50's range. Winco is in some ways more expensive then Walmart I'm shocked by this and I don't like walmart!! Is it because Winco in gresham had a huge update so know there raising all there prices??? Went into reload a gift card for a friend this past Friday morning and only one person in customer service and the wait was over 10 minutes while the women customers at the counter were taking forever, cashing some check and guess their ID wasn't up to snuff. Another employee came over and went behind the counter and thought he would be helping out but didn't happen. Not enough check stands open, and the wait time at customer service was unacceptable. I'm a frequent shopper. One of several places I shop for groceries. They have a nice bulk section where I purchase quite a bit of spices. I buy all my juices at WinCo - cranberry, grapefruit and pineapple. Not sure about all their meats but I do purchase chicken frequently. I love their wall of value! This store can get busy with long lines. Shopping late at night can be a plus but you also risk having certain aisles blocked off for restocking. Would definitely recommend. read more
